Nice venue in downtown Newark for sports and concerts and shows. Came tonight to see Stars On Ice 2026. The arena was very clean and the layout was not confusing. Of course food and drinks were very expensive. Going through security was a little bit hectic, but once we walked pass the area things were much calmer. The staff was nice. I found parking within a 4 minute walk from the arena. Will definitely come back again if there is something of interest to me. read more

I don't even know how to start this review for this spot because the experience was really something !! Let me tell you all love to Jersey, but listen. Parking was actually very organized and super close to the entrance, which made getting in easy. Getting out, though? If you're not from here good luckkk ! It's very much a get in where you fit in traffic situation. I was trying to merge and even asked a guy to cut me some slack since I'm not from here he just laughed, messed with me, and still didn't let me in haha nothing personal, but you do gotta be on your game. The atmosphere of the arena be prepared because the air was def thick. I'm not talking about fog lights either even though that's what I thought was happening at first. To be fair I guess it also depends on who you're coming to see. I went for a Drake concert so shoulda known. I'm sure other events are a way lot better. As for the concert itself I had a great time! My seats weren't bad at all ! I was in section 119, row 8. The view was solid, though I do wish I got closer seats especially since floor seats were around $300 (still thinking about that mistake) The venue itself is easy to navigate, very walkable, with plenty of restrooms and everything felt pretty clean. NHL arena #12 for me and I'd say it was another good experience. It's almost 20 years old, but still feels pretty new and modern. Decent food options, fast moving bathroom lines, good in game entertainment, nice and clear big screen, and pretty good view of the action. Fans get pretty loud here and they like to chant and sing. No issues with any fans and I was actually surprised no one really talked smack to us in our Kings jerseys. Some fans actually wished us a safe trip back to LA, so the stereotype of people being rude and disrespectful was not evident tonight. Not sure about the parking, but we took the train here and newark Penn station is just a few blocks away. Getting here was pretty easy, but getting back to the hotel was a nightmare. One train back to New York was cancelled, so we had to wait an additional 30-40 minutes for the next one, so you know it was a cramped ride back to the city. However, I asked a local and I guess that is pretty normal on nights with games and concerts. Overall, not a bad place to watch a hockey game. read more

Truly awful experience here for a concert, I will never come back and will go out of my way to another state to go to a concert next time. VIP line was confusing to find, we stood in a line for 30 mins before double checking with one of the people that it was VIP and they said it was GA. We found the VIP line and it was so unorganized and even tour workers came outside and shrugged their shoulders saying they don't know what the venue was thinking with lining everyone up chaotically. We get inside for VIP, ONE bartender. There were easily 200+ people there, the bar line took 20 minutes to order. All the workers came right at GA entry.... Convenient for them, not for us who paid more. They wouldn't give tap water which feels illegal, made us pay $8 for a water bottle in a cup with ice. The security at the event (metal concert) was HORRIBLE. Like borderline dangerous. There were crowd surfers galore and they were doing a horrible job pointing them out so people weren't getting injured. A 250lb man crowd surfed 15 times (he bragged about his weight and the times he went up), one girl got a nosebleed from him kicking around and two other people got kicked and head butted by him. When MULTIPLE people were literally yelling at security to talk to the guy or pull him from the pit, they literally shrugged their shoulders. I've been to hundreds of metal concerts and I've never been to one that had a horrible environment due to the venue. Please head warning that this is an awful venue and not worth your money OR safety/wellbeing. read more

I came here for a Devils vs. Rangers game and had a really good experience overall. The arena was clean, and the bathrooms were well maintained, which is always a big plus when you're at a crowded sporting event. There were also plenty of food options and beverages available throughout the arena, so it was easy to find something you wanted. They also offered non-alcoholic beer, which is a nice option for those who are sober. I enjoyed some garlic knots that were served in a NJ Devil helmet. It came with 4. They were decent in size and had good flavor. I will say though they were a bit overcooked. There are several parking lots near the arena, though most of them charge around $35 to park. The only downside of the day was leaving the lot afterward. It was a bit of a nightmare since there wasn't anyone directing traffic and cars were going in every direction trying to get out. Even though the Rangers lost, I still really enjoyed my experience and would definitely come back for another game. read more

It's not a horrible arena. It's modern and the inside is clean and spacious. Complaints about the inside would be the steep upper level (feels like a ski slope) and some obstructed views for hockey. I guess the biggest complaint is that it houses the Devils . The good is that Seton Hall Basketball plays here and I do love all the high school hockey jerseys. It's a nice local touch. The real problem is they should have put some sort of parking garage attached to the place for easier commuting. I also think they could have done a better job with the surrounding area. Would have been excellent to have some sort of place you can go after a game. Missed chances at improving the area. Overall not a bad arena but I think better planning would have benefitted the arena and Newark. read more

We saw Disney on Ice here last Saturday which, surprisingly despite growing up 45m away for over 4 decades, I'd never come here to this excellent venue. Happy I (we) did because the stellar quality of this venue even decades after opening was such comfort for my family & I & now I can review it for Yelp! First, starting with the ticketing situation which is predominantly TicketMaster and not a part of this venue but there is seamless integration with the ticket scanners at the venue entrances which are presumably with the venue's manager's arrangement and the 2D barcode lifestyle is a good one. I'll ignore that the TicketMaster app signed me out right as my GPS entered the venue grounds, I totally joked it'd do that as anti-spoofing which is really just annoying. A good 5G signal and quick sign in by passkey helped. The parking situation is either the 1 official Hyundai-sponsored deck which is fair pricing and directly connected to the venue by a 2F footbridge, or any of the many many vendors of all sorts from the sterling operator Metropolis with its sleek ALPR-driven high-lighting situation at 86 Edison Pl a.k.a. 116 Edison Pl a.k.a. 216 Market Pl (all road-touching entrances lead to the same deck facility) to the ad hoc vendors with their attendents faithfully waving their light sticks. All are around $15/event. There's always a jam up so be warned that with families before entering the doors to have your security scanning prep ready to go and the tickets ready to scan to avoid a stressful crowd build-up. Happily and surprisingly, the ticket scanner staff are not TSA-like shouting, but maybe because it was a Disney On Ice event. The mezzanine level on which one is deposited after ascending the escalators from the ticket entry is a great relief with a worlds apart: brightly lit, cheery, and full of energetic vendors, in this case, less the beer ones and much more the Disney retail ones. The seating is very good all around since the venue is designed well so no seat is too far away, even despite ours being row 24 thus the last. We appreciated the staff keeping vigilance over section entries to reduce overcrowding and bad foot traffic and they're all helpful in decoding the inconsistent seat numbering schema thus where to sit. The event is not part of the venue as it's actually Feld's Ice Follies licensing from Disney and renting from this venue, but I will say this venue has hosted this event for years if not decades and they do great here with all the tech and comforts you'd hope for. Lastly, the exit is very manageable and the traffic not bad, despite being all at once whereas entries are spread over hours beforehand. All in all, the venue is so pleasing that we'll uptick our attendance to here as the ones in Manhattan are annoyingly difficult to reach & ones in Princeton or even New Brunswick are, oddly, further yet from us. Wish the venue was a little bigger... but it's not awful. This is my 4th time coming to the Prudential Center for concerts... the walk from the venue to the Newark Penn Station - about 10 mins, and thankfully during concerts, you have lots of fans walking with you. The location is shady AF, too many questionable ppl... either on drugs, high, drunk or homeless... however, when there are events happening, there is a lot more police presence. As for inside the venue, it's quite small, the lower levels are good seats with close enough views. The seats are kind of "steep" so if you're in the upper levels... can feel scary when standing. Food options are average... think chicken tenders, fries, pretzels... water is $8. All the venue are in cahoots on the price... cuz it's all $8 for water! lol (Citifield, Barclays...) Seats are ok, comfy enough; bathrooms are kept clean, and staffs are great! At least the ones I've interacted with. I dropped my light stick... under the seats... YEP. Row 1... there's a GAP!!! Getting to the Prudential Center is quite easy - it's a few blocks away from the train station (easy ride in and out of NYC with the PATH). The staff on site at the venue felt underprepared, though. Security lines were going quite slowly and there were multiple occasions where staff gave out wrong information (e.g. stating there would be merch on the second floor and there wasn't). The arena itself is nice - plenty of areas where concessions are sold (but beware that their policy is to always take the cap). I recently visited for the first and while I found the outside of the venue aesthetically pleasing, my overall experience was bad. I loathe how greedy venues are when it comes to selling tickets. As someone who hadn't been here before, I noticed my tickets mentioned "side view" which didn't set off any alarms for me. I've been seated side stage before. However, there is a MAJOR difference between side view and restricted view. The latter is what me and many other people experienced. I attended an interactive concert but we were unable to see the screen which means we couldn't participate in several aspects of the show. I'm an avid concert goer and this is the worst experience I've had attending a show. Why even sell seats that don't allow attendees to fully enjoy or experience the show? The staff gets 5 stars for being professional, friendly, and polite. I came here for a concert with my family, and because we entered on the opposite side of our seats, a staff member suggested a wheelchair for my mother, who uses a cane. The young lady who assisted her was wonderful and even returned after the show, just as she promised. The venue itself, however, is another story. I ended up giving 3 stars only because the staff balanced out how much I disliked the layout. I've been to MSG, Barclays, and Nassau Coliseum, and none of them are shaped like a maze the way Prudential Center is. We had floor seats, yet all the food options were on the upper level. To get there, we had to walk around to find an escalator up; coming back down was harder because there was no down escalator. We tried using an elevator since we were carrying food and drinks, but were told it would drop us on the wrong side. Another worker told us we couldn't re-enter through the area we came from, so we had to go back upstairs again. Eventually, someone directed us through a lounge area, which still required going down more stairs inside to reach our seats--very inconvenient while holding food and drinks. Downstairs has almost nothing--just one alcohol stand--so everyone crowding into one central food area is a design flaw. I had a great time at the concert, and my family did too, but I wouldn't rush to come back because of the venue layout. On the plus side, parking is convenient with lots all around, plus their own multi-level garage. read more

Attended a Rascal Flatts concert in January 2026 and it was my first time at the venue. We got spot hero parking across the street in the garage and it was a quick less than 5 min walk to the front door. We were greeted at the doors early, about 10 mins early and walked right in. They may have opened early because of the extreme cold temperatures, we did not complain! Security was swift and courteous. Escalators were right by the door and we went up to the concession areas. Place was clean and staff was nice. The ONLY hiccup in our evening was the vendor did not accept my license on my phone. It may be a NJ thing (we are from MD which allows ID on our phone, verified by the DMV) but she allowed my husband to show his ID and gave me my drink. Not a big deal, but just something to keep in mind. The venue itself is large and the ushers were polite and good at their jobs. We were row 1, not on the floor so we were able to keep our dinks in their cans/bottle. We observed other guests who had floor seats needing to empty their cans into a provided plastic cup before entering the seating area. It seems a pretty common practice at venues with floor seating due to safety concerns or easy clean up, no one argued. Getting out after the show was super easy as well. All in all we had a great time and although it is 3 hours away , we might return for another show or game! read more

I came here to watch Baby Monster's concert so this review will be more about that than the Prudential Center. I will say that I appreciate how efficient the security was. Maybe there wasn't that many people at the concert but I got through security in less than 2 minutes which has to be a record. This was my first time watching a kpop concert in the US. I've watched Kpop before in Lollapalooza and Gov Ball but never a dedicated concert for a group. Here are some of my thoughts: - I absolutely loved all the outfits that they had as they probably had 4 outfit changes a person. - I thought it was weird that they repeated "Batter Up" and "Sheesh" like 3 times each. I feel like the concert could've been a lot shorter just to not have to replay those songs. - I didn't care much for all the solos that they had in the middle. I thought it was surprising that they were singing their own rendition of American pop songs. - I appreciate that I could sit through the whole concert and I didn't have to stand to see the performance. Honestly it's not a bad concert but if you're a kpop fan I'm not sure if you would really appreciate it. I would recommend sitting in the front a bit more as I was sitting in the bleachers and I couldn't see the performance that well. read more

We were there for a concert and decided to take the New Jersey Transit (NJT) to Prudential Center to avoid any issues with traffic and parking. The center itself is pretty big and easy to navigate. We had floor seating, but I think the stage setup allows for a good view regardless of where your seat is. The bar and restrooms were easy to access. No complaints. They have multiple parking lots you can use to pay for parking. I believe they charge $20-$40 for parking depending on which spot you use. Oh man, I had such a bad experience with Prudential Center for the SUGA Agust D concert compared to his concerts at UBS Arena in NY and Kia Forum in CA. To say the least, Prudential Center is a mess. On the upside, their PIEZ Italian Eatery on the 100s level had pretty decent pepperoni pizza. My one slice at $8.25 was hot with gooey cheese and a good amount of pepperoni. Better than what I expected for arena food and a whole lot better than the pizza slice I had at UBS Arena. However, the way the venue handled crowd control outside the doors and the security check of the bags was very, very bad. The employees caused a lot of confusion directing people in the lines and security was taking too much time checking through bags on what was allowed into the venue. They were short-tempered, mean, and very argumentative. You'd think with the heavy rain outside that they'd try to be efficient with their checks. It took forever with the metal detectors. It made no sense to be told to walk through with my electronics and not expect the detector to go off. All in all, it was a very stressful and miserable experience with Prudential Center. I've been to a lot of venues and Prudential Center was probably the worst so far (possibly tying with Sofi Stadium for BTS Permission to Dance tour, day 1). I noticed the arena is deeper than the Forum in CA and UBS Arena. My seat in Section 134 felt pretty steep and getting to your seat if everyone is already seated requires more focus to stay balanced. I'm not a local, so I didn't have to think about parking options and can't speak to how that was. The venue is in an area with lots of businesses and restaurants and it is easy to reach by bus. I took the bus here from my hotel and heading home, I was surprised that the bus line by the venue actually ran limited routes even though it wasn't that late in the night. A bunch of us were waiting over 45 minutes while we noticed other buses passing us by and the one we wanted not arriving at all. We ended up taking an Uber back to our different hotels just to get off the streets and go home. I haven't been back and hope to not be back for any future events (will avoid it if I can). read more

It's always safe during an event. The sound at the Pru is always very good and the stage is always easily visible no matter where you sit. Came for AEW Full Gear 2024. The good: Being in section 107, the view is pretty good for a wrestling show. I have full view of the ring and the entrance ramp. It's also a mostly full arena with 9600 seats out of 10,500 (rounding) being filled. The bad: Food is wildly expensive. For reference, a bottled soda and some pretzels was $22.00. The venue itself is cashless. Never fear, they have kiosks where they will dispense to a ready to use non-reloadable prepaid card. Also, when you buy a bottle, they take your bottle cap. I don't know why. I ordered a chicken sandwich from Melba's for $20. The chicken was fine but the sandwich was sad. Nothing really on it other than the chipotle mayo. They gave me coleslaw and ketchup, but that was it. The bathrooms were fine but old, no automatic flushing happening. It was my first time at this venue. I may return but I will not spend any more funds on concessions. I expected to spend some money but it really feels like price gouging and when I was at Mela's, despite only being at the halfway point, they were nearly out of certain menu items and had no plans to make any more. Same with the some of the alcohol stations. It's cool for what seeing the show but there are infinitely better food and beverage options outside of the arena. Also, when asking staff for the price of an item, they don't tell you outright but rather show you a receipt with the price. Something my party found odd. Anyway, come and see shows but avoid eating here. read more

We saw NIN there on Valentine's Day and the venue was not well organized. The lines outside in the cold to get through security were 45 minutes plus long, and with doors opening at 7, we barely had time to get to our seats and grab some food (had we gone for merch, we would've been in line for an additional 45 minutes, at least. Was there help or an offer thereof to get to seats? There was not, and judging by the sheer amount of confused concert goers stumbling around in the near dark, help was needed. Getting out was a trial, as 100s of people headed for 1 escalator (poor design!). I hope no one else we want to see in concert shows up here, if so we may have to miss the show. read more

Never again! I've been to several performances at the Prudential Center and trying to get in and out of last night's The New Edition, Boys to Men, and Toni Braxton concert was the worst! I live in New Jersey and arrived in Newark at 7:18 pm for the 8 pm concert. We were .3 miles or about 4 blocks from the Center when we hit gridlock. We were stuck on the same block for more than 30 min! There was a complete lack of urgency by the law enforcement and parking attendants to get ticket holders parked and into the concert. When we finally arrived at the garage where we've parked for other concerts (8:30 pm!) we couldn't park there because it was ONLY for pre-pay. You would think the people directing traffic would communicate that to the drivers in the two lanes of traffic before you reached the entrance of the garage. We had to circle around the Center again only to enter the same deck from another block. We finally arrived at our concert seats at 9:20 pm! I won't get into the Classless Crew that sat on top of their seats blocking the views of everyone seated behind them when their view was clear- the seats in front of them were empty! We were in traffic in Newark for 2 hours. Getting out of the deck was no better. We sat in traffic that didn't move for an hour. The concert ended at 11:30 pm and we didn't get home (40 min. away) until about 1:30 pm! Newark has to do better! It's infrastructure and parking is not meant to support the almost 20,000 ticket holders of the Prudential Center. Our concert experience was ruined and I will not go back to the Prudential Center. It's not worth the hassle and headaches. Don't build a center your city isn't prepared to support! read more

So much traffic and inconsiderate people driving. By train it wasn't so bad. Short walk there from the train. Staff is always really nice here. Easy to get to on Path Train. Less than a ten minute walk from Newark Penn Station. The ease and convenience of getting into the arena was much faster than MSG/Hulu. The seats are situated that even if a 6.5 foot person sits in front of you, they won't block your view. Great local IPA beer! If you didn't know, this is the home arena for the New Jersey Devils NHL team. We went here for a MercyMe concert. Security was pretty quick and there were several restrooms and a variety of food and drink vendors. The arena is cashless so if you wanted to buy food and drinks you had to use a credit/debit card. The good thing is that if you don't have a card, just go to the box office reverse ATM and you can get a card. The ushers were helpful with pointing us to our seats. Granted that you can feel it if people stomped on the floor, but that's to be expected. I didn't have any major issues so I would go back. read more
