The Richmond County stadium is super easy to get to because it's right next to the SI Ferry terminal with a good view of NY harbor and is a standard minor league park similar to the LI Ducks, Brooklyn Cyclones or Newark Bears. I always enjoy coming here. Courtesy of company sponsored tickets, we sat on the 3rd base line almost even with the bag and we had a great view. Plus the seats came with All-You-Can-Eat & Drink wristbands! We chowed down on cheeseburgers, hot dogs & chicken sandwiches, along with chips, soda & above all else, WATER! It was HOT! After the sun went down, it was a little more tolerable, and we didn't have to douse ourselves. We got there after the game started so we missed out on the free bobblehead giveaway, darn! And this year they didn't limit you to one food item at time, so we loaded up before we went to our seats. The game was none too exciting being an A club and most players were batting less than .200, but the inter-inning activities were fun, with races and free t-shirts. We ended up losing 3-2 anyway.

Getting there does require a bit of walking as we ended up parking at the Skyview Mall and it was about a 20 minute walk from there. There is an LRR station right next to it, so if you come via train it would be much shorter. Security was a breeze and once you enter, it is more like a Universal Studios experience with several corporate enclosures that give you an immersive experience. We tried the Amex enclosure and there were plenty of activities inside including personalized tennis balls, Virtual table Tennis and even a tennis game video recording. We enjoyed the experience so much that forgot we were here to see a tennis match. After getting to the stadium itself, it was as if a festival was going on as more people were lined up at the food enclosures rather than the match itself. We saw a ladies singles where Jasmine Paolini was playing against Aiava, Destanee, none of whom I had heard of. It was a straight forward match with Paolini winning in straight sets. The main event was Medvedev vs a very unknown Benjamin Bonzi and what a match it turned out to be. Firrst of all most of the support was for Medvedev, but Bonzi ended up winning the first two sets. As he was serving for the match on a second serve, out of nowhere a cameraman walked onto the court. This hot the referee to award Bonzi a first serve, but Medvedev just lost it and created a whole commotion, first with the referee and then with the crowd who was very much behind him at that point. There was so much noise that play stopped for seven minutes as the crowd just roared non stop. This shook Bonzi so much that he ended up losing that set and even the next set 0-6 only to recover and beat Medvedev 6-4 in the final set. He did ended up getting a lot of support after that incident as they all felt sorry for him. It was a historic match, where Medvedev ended up getting fined 42K for his antics. We definitely got our money worth after all that excitement and watching a historic moment. The whole atmosphere, facilities, staff, stadium, cleanliness food was excellent.

Free events are great since u can at least get to participate in the activities but additional spending at the stadium can be extremely overboard so I would keep that in mind when attending anything at these stadiums.

Like other MLS teams, average attendance has been good. Official attendance records show roughly 24,000 fans per game (80-82% capacity). Over the years, several various plans for a dedicated soccer stadium designed specifically for the team - from Manhattan to Elmont (Belmont Stakes) - have been proposed, but nothing has materialized yet. In the club's short history, Spanish striker David Villa has been, by far, the club's best and most popular player. He played for New York from 2015 to 2018 and holds the club records for most appearances (126) and goals (80). He was a forward on the Spanish national team that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Etihad Airways, of the United Arab Emirates, has been the team's main sponsor during its existence so far.

And word is they may end up moving to Queens. Can you imagine. My fave borough and one of my least fave teams. I mean they're affiliated with Man City and play in the same colours. How disgusting. So considering I've been a fan of Red Bull NY since back when they were Metrostars... then it follows that I wouldn't love NYCFC, their rival. Of course I'm not a fan of NYCFC, who are the rich kids of the East Coast, think Galaxy but worse. They get a lot of good players piped in, and they do have a few good people behind them, but they're basically the Manchester City of North America. So not my favourite by any stretch of the imagination. Red Bull will always be the heart and the soul of the NY area football for me. These guys play at Yankee Stadium and they have been looking for a place in Queens to play, but for me the team of people from Queens is always going to be Red Bull even though they're over New Jersey. I'm so not a fan of the Manchester City Style kit or the ownership, and I'm hoping that they continue middling around and don't really go anywhere. But it's good to have a two-team New York area rivalry for sure. And it's definitely one of the classic legendary stadiums for baseball and as a baseball Arena it would get 5 stars and is second to none. As a soccer arena it gets three stars and just doesn't seem like a good home for this team or the sport, and it's no coincidence that they've been largely struggling in it. So the stadium that Ruth built is amazing and it's been renovated recently and it's just way too expensive - that's the main problem. If you live in this part of the Bronx you'd have to probably spend a week's wages just to come and see a game here. And a watery beer that is American of course, is going to cost you between 12 and $20. So forget it.

Time Landscape is a NYC Parks landscape artwork by American artist Alan Sonfist that contains…read moreplants native to the New York City area of pre-colonial times. It is one block of abolished row of tenements and townhouses pre 1950s. It is located La Guardia Place between Bleecker and West Houston Streets in Greenwich Village, NYC. Time Landscape does fend an illusion for the appearance of Dutch settlers who established New Amsterdam. It is an area where visitors travel back in time to 17th century City of New York. It is here where visitors do not need Dr. Emmett Brown's DeLorean car from "Back to the Future" franchise for time travel. This area certainly contains a lot of green and forest look. This space has, indeed, encroached by New York University's real estate expansion through time and progress for economic gain.

Have you ever wondered what the Island of Manhattan's natural environment looked like before it was…read morebuilt over by settlers from Europe, and their descendents? Artist Alan Sonfist explored this question and his response was a highly unusual example of public art called "Time Landscape." The art work consists of a plot of land carefully planted with grasses, trees, shrubs and flowers representing the type of plant life growing in Manhattan prior to settlement by the Dutch in the 17th century. Time Landscape is a 25 x 40 foot rectangular plot at the Northeast corner of La Guardia Place and West Houston Street, maintained by the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation. Sonfist first developed his idea for the project in 1965 and he, together with community volunteers, realized it in 1978. In recent years, there have been some issues with maintaining the art work, including issues with homeless people sleeping in it and non-native plants invading. The issues point to the unusual nature of this type of art and really challenge the city and the community to address them, while preserving the artist's vision. It's appropriate that this art work exists at the Northern boundary of the Soho neighborhood. When Sonfist was developing his idea, a vibrant, groundbreaking type of art practice variously called "Earth Art," or "Land Art" was being created by current or former residents of the Soho artist community. Sonfist's artist contemporaries such as Robert Smithson, Walter de Maria, Michael Heizer, Nancy Holt and many others would create their Earth Artworks throughout the US (and especially in the Western US). Sonfist created this great example of Land Art right here in New York.

This was our first trip to the US Open in 2025. Although we read how easy it is to take the subway…read moreto the Open, we opted for an Uber. There wasn't a clearly marked spot to drop us off and so we walked a bit, and we ended up walking right past the station. It was directly across the bridge. So, definitely, take the subway next time. We made a reservation at Champions restaurant, but (Scam - they take your credit card for a reservation even though only courtside tickets are allowed to dine here) we were not able to eat there. I didn't like how we had to wait to get past the gates, they hold you there until after 6pm for the evening matches. Then, of course, the crowd rushes for the food, the bathrooms, and the shops and as a result, you can't do much of anything. Still, I had a delicious lobster roll from the food kiosks (Red Hook Lobster Pound). Inside Arthur Ashe, the seating was great, there were plenty of bathrooms and food options, and with the screens, you could see everything. What I didn't like, was the constant seat switching by people trying to get better seats. I suppose this happens at stadiums everywhere, but since you are supposed to be in your seat for play to start, this was so annoying to see people going up and down the stairs. Still, we got to see some great tennis, and the vibes here are great. It took forever to get to the ride share pickup (this needs better signage) and we walked quite a ways in the dark.

Security was quick and easy to get through especially considering the large crowds. The US Open village really is as cool as they say. Lots of Us open swag for sale and corporate sponsor pop ups (saw a lot from Chase in particular). If you leave the game you can always watch the match from one or the several television screens outside too. I thought the food options weee excellent. I saw lots of high end restaurants lile Coqadoq and FUKU and Eataly. Not your run of the mill fast food. It's very pricey though($8 for a soda). Don't believe they permit outside food. Inside the stadium itself, ithe seats were clean. Not super comfortable but pretty standard stadium seats . I liked how before the start of the game they televised the player rules. As someone who doesn't follow tennis closely this was a nice refresh. I'm not sure that I've seen this at other sports games I've been to. All in all I enjoyed my experience at Asher Ashe. I can't believe it's taken me this long to visit.

They have in stock products from the Brooklyn larder and Asian snacks. It's an eclectic combo. There's a seating area in the basement next to the gallery. Upstairs is Cafe Nanahoshi where you can grab a quick bite and something to drink. It can be easy to miss, as it's located on a quiet residential side street of mostly brownstones on 7th between 4th and 5th Avenue.

Cute, unexpected little theater in Bath Beach. Who knew there was culture in Brooklyn?…read more This is a very intimate theater, maybe about 50 seats total. It's laid out very well so there isn't a bad seat in the house. I think they stage productions of the Ryan Repertory company here. The show I saw here was good and this is a professional theater, even if it is small.
