Seats were comfortable and the sound was good, for the most part. Although it wasn't an issue for us, I could imagine that seeing the artists properly could be difficult for patrons seated higher up. We were puzzled at why the (only one btw) screen above the stage had promotion for the company bringing the show and other visuals rather than showing the performers so that those farther away could have a better view. It's understood that this may have been a choice by the folks putting on the event. However, the venue is large enough that more than one screen could be helpful-then one could have whatever promotion or visuals the artist or supporting team favors and the other(s) could show the performance. There were also a couple instances of mic screech, but not a big deal. Of course food/drinks were event priced and the parking lots in the area were $30-$40, again event priced. But, there are a variety of dining options in close proximity, and it's a short walk to NJ transit. The crowd at our concert was good vibes, and the staff we encountered were all cool and helpful.

Before the game, Prudential Center hosted Fan Fest at 4pm in their outdoor lot area (Championship Plaza). There were van / truck vendors giving out NJ Devils Swag, fans were able to play games, engage in other activities & hear the live band play good music. Once we headed into Prudential Center, patrons were able to purchase food & enjoy activities from numerous vendors throughout this spacious facility. Upon entry, Prudential Center gave the first 9,000 fans a "Fan" Shirsey (T-Shirt Style Jersey) commemorating the Final Season of the "Jersey" Jersey (boy, is it comfortable). Courtesy of GEICO, from 5:30pm - 7pm, fans were able to purchase $1 hotdogs from specific food vendors (limit was 4 per person). As this was my 1st time going to a hockey game, I have to say it was electric. There are no fans like sports fans & hockey fans are something else - lol. NJ Devils vs. Ottawa Senators was a great game. As hockey is a 60-Minute game split into 3 20-Minute periods, the NJ Devils Entertainment Team kept the crowd upbeat (even when they were frustrated w/ some of the NJ Devils hockey players & were yelling from their seats) throughput breaks & intermission(s). We were able to ride the Zamboni (so much fun) & to see the NJ Devils players "backstage" before they headed back to the hockey rink. The dopest part was when NJ Devils #13 Nico Hischier scored the winning goal, leading the NJ Devils to beat the Ottawa Senators! My first time at Metlife was back in 2019 for BTS, and I recently came back... for BTS again…read more There's multiple ways of getting to the stadium - by NJ transit train, bus, car, or parking nearby at the American Dream mall and walking there. I took the NJ transit this time and it was pretty chaotic but highly preferred over a bus or having to find parking there. They adopted the system where you needed a wristband to use the train, but it wasn't a good system for the people that didn't take the train to get there (alot of people went early using other methods for merch or for VIP entry). They should have trains run earlier next time, not starting at 4-5pm. Or have a clear area to get wristbands at the end of the event - there was no clear signage for people and they were confused and blocking the people that already had wristbands and were trying to get to the trains. Metlife itself is a pretty cool stadium, I like that it has an open top because we got amazing fireworks during and at the end of the show - something that some other stadiums couldn't get! Fairly easy to find your seating, and it doesn't feel as far from the stage as some other stadiums when you're sitting in the 100s. We were also thankfully allowed to enter through any gate, instead of just the one mentioned on the ticket. The food wasn't anything spectacular and could be way better for the prices they're selling at. Chicken tenders tasted like elementary school cafeteria food and the pretzel braid was dry.

It is a National Historic Landmark since 2013.. Admission is free. The museum showcases Negro baseball, Paterson's elite athletes and the history of Hinchliffe Stadium. The stadium opened in 1932 and became the homefield for the the New York Black Yankees. Legendry players who played at Hinchliffe Stadium included Larry Doby (a Paterson High School standout, first Black player to enter the American League (Cleveland Indians, July 5, 1947), Hall of Famers (Josh Gibson, Monte Irwin and Jackie Robinson) also played in Hinchcliffe Stadium. Probably the best shortstop ever the play the game, Honus Wagner (1933) played for the Paterson Silk Sox. Twenty "Hall of Fame players" played at one time or another in Hinchcliffe Stadium. Aside from baseball, Hinchcliffe Stadium was also the home of midget car racing and Paterson High Schools major sporting events. The museum has historic photographs, baseball memorabilia, and many other interesting displays. As a baseball fan, I was very excited to see the museum.

Whenever I go, I run into European, especially German, tourists. They are there to see the Tibetan art, which is considered one of the best in the world. Started by purchasing from Christian missionaries in the early twentieth century. The Tibetan galleries have a Buddhist altar that the Dalai Lama has consecrated in 1990. There's strong American art exhibits with paintings by many including Mary Cassett, John Singer Sargent, Tony Smith and Frank Stella. In addition, there's Ballentine House, from the Ballentine beer family, which houses a fine decorative arts collection and period rooms. The Dreyfuss plantetarium is great to round out your visit, especially with kids. Highly recommended for a day trip.

We grabbed some drinks and spent the day walking through the museum and exploring everything it had to offer. We even had a funny little interaction while getting our tickets. The man asked my daughter and me if we were paying separately, and I couldn't help but laugh because she's only 11 but already taller than me! I could see the moment of confusion and his embarrassment when he realized she was my daughter. Aside from that, this was a wonderful museum experience. I really enjoyed the interactive exhibits and the variety of artwork throughout the space. The different art pieces gave the museum such a unique style and character. My favorite part was the house itself. I absolutely love historic homes--they are truly beautiful and full of so much craftsmanship. You can see the incredible attention to detail throughout the entire house, from the staircase to the walls and the hand-printed designs. Every little detail tells a story, and it was amazing to see how much care and artistry went into creating such a beautiful space.

Visitors can now drop by the fire department museum any weekend between noon and 5 PM thanks to support from the Hoboken historical Museum. Admission is just 3 dollars for adults , children under 12 admitted free and you can spend as much time as you like exploring the displays of photographs and news clippings documenting the fires large and small that tested the mettle of generations of Hoboken firefighters.

It could have been an all day event and I wish I had come earlier because I missed some things like the weapons demonstration. Aside from the regular buildings, there was a camp set up with soldiers, nurses, doctors, cooks, and other professionals that would have been part of a civil war brigade. The reenactors were extremely knowledge and informative with various props and photos from the era. We did get sucked into the singing presentations at the tavern featuring the Libby Prison Band and Matthew Dodd singing period stories and telling comical tales. They alternated presenting on the hour with new songs each hour. For a free presentation, it was thorough, entertaining, and thoughtful. There was plenty of parking and a small gift shop (not too many site specific souvenirs though). I will keep an eye on the calendar and return for future events.

I recently visited the East Jersey old town Village based on an invite from a dear friend. I walked…read morearound and went in and out of the historical homes and exhibits that were available. The experience was pretty cool because it was like I had stepped back in time. As a person of color, I can say candidly that I was apprehensive and a little skeptical about appreciating this part of history. History is not always pretty however, I was pleasantly surprised to see that people of color were positively represented here. I was able to speak in depth with a group of re-enactors that were representing the black soldiers during this time. These individuals not only dressed the part, but truly embodied their roles. They were very knowledgeable about the many contributions that people of color, specifically, Black people, made in this era, despite the cruelty, they faced. It was as if I was speaking directly to the soldiers during that period. One fun fact that we learned was that Barack Obama was not the first US president of African descent. Don't believe me, look it up! If you are interested in learning more, please visit and see for yourself how special this place is.

I've been meaning to check out this theater company for the last two years. Past productions…read moreincluded: It's a Wonderful Life, Arsenic and Old Lace, War of the Worlds, Godspell, A Christmas Carol, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Back to the 80's, Disney's Cinderella, and many more. None of those seemed to get me through the door until I saw "A Cat in the Hat" was playing and I finally decided to take my little niece and nephew out to see a local play. It's a small space down in the basement of St. Stephen's school. Tickets for adults are $8 and kids $5. Folding metal chairs are arranged for seating. There's a small concession stand selling individual cookies and water at breakeven prices. For the kids they had paper Dr. Seuss hats at $1 each. It felt like I was going to a school play and I loved that feeling. The kids sat still the entire 45 minutes and were completely enchanted. I have to admit, so was I. After the show the Cat and Thing 1 and 2 and the entire cast came out to meet the kids and take photographs with them. Next up in April, "Steel Magnolias", something I would definitely take my Mom to see. After that it's "The Fantasticks" in June followed by "The Addams Family". Best part: you can star in any of these productions! They regularly hold open auditions. Tickets are available online, by phone, or in person a half hour before showtime. Their previous productions include; Cinderella, Bleach Bums, It's Wonderful Life, Sleeping Beauty, A Christmas Carol, and Grease. It is a very small theater, with limited seating. They sell light refreshments, such as candy & water. I just recently saw, Beauty and the Beast and it was fantastic! They numbers were amazingly executed and the acting was top notch. I can't wait to come and see their next production Elf!
