My husband and I come here on Saturday mornings after we drop off our girls to their gymnastics class. I always order their Ube Mocha. Saw this place on IG so I had to check it out and I'm glad I did. It's a cute lil place on the corner of whatever street and it's super close to the farmers market. I've tried a lot of their food and I've enjoyed it every single time. Their duck confit tacos bomb. Fried cheese curds, definitely unhealthy but I can look past that because they were so good, and crispy, and like belonged in my mouth? The burger was cooked good, didn't fall apart, super solid. The fries were really crispy. This review is for Vallejo's Restaurant Week in 2022. It was the last day which was a Sunday and I wanted a full balanced meal after going to church. It came with a 3 course meal- baby gem salad, Cioppino, flourless chocolate cake. And I ordered a Vallejo sour cocktail. This was their last day as cashier service where you would order up from then they bring your your food. The following day they said that they're moving to table service. They also have a liquor license now so they served cocktails, beer, and wine. I enjoyed everything. Located downtown and parking is easy. Both indoor and outdoor seating. I feel like I usually see people studying or working with their laptops inside, I wonder if that's changed due to table service. It's located at a corner and their bathroom is way in the back. This is such a cute brunch spot! I never knew a place like this existed in Vallejo. They have a lot of seating inside and outside on the patio. Parking was a little difficult to find on a weekend. I ordered their Americano and the avocado toast with egg. Everything was delicious and great vibes. Although they are a little pricey for what the food is worth. This review is loooonnngggg over due! The first time I ever had V-Town Provisions was during the peak of COVID! It was during Vallejo Restaurant Week and everything was take out only! At that time, there was no outdoor patio and the inside was less than half of what it is now! Okay I lied, the last time I went here was to get a lavender latte and that time, they had an outdoor patio. My point is, this place grew in size, in menu and in everything! I can see why this a Vallejo favorite!!! I love the decorations inside. It brings a lot of life and diversity. Not only do they have an outdoor patio, but they have a ton of indoor seating. Even bar seating if that's your vibe. Located in Downtown Vallejo. Parking may or may not be difficult depending on when you visit. There is street parking as well as a parking lot. I ordered their Chicken-N-Waffle and an Ube Latte with almond milk. I've always wanted to try both so I'm glad I finally did. The waffle was so delectable! The waffle looked thin but it was the right amount of fluff and sweetness! I didn't need much butter or syrup because the waffle by itself was just right for me. The chicken was okay. The meat wasn't as flavorful as it looked. The skin was coated great with what tasted like a sweet, garlicky, oniony glaze. It was tender though. The ube latte was smooth. The latte taste definitely powers over the ube, but you can for sure taste the ube! I'd get the ube latte because there aren't much places that have ube! They also have other flavors, too. Besides the savory food, they offer cocktails, wine, kombucha, I'm assuming beer too. They also have baked good- cookies, croissants, etc. Overall, Vallejo is lucky to have V-Town Provisions! I FINALLY tried this place after living in Vallejo for over 2 years. Sat outside on an early Friday evening in late August. I got the Korean bowl with the bulgogi chicken and the Corpse Revolver #9. And the truffle fries. My friend got the fried chicken sandwich and a Paloma. It was all 10/10. Service was so great. Down to earth servers that were so friendly. She went to buy an ube cookie and the guy was about to give her an oatmeal cookie. She reminded him she said ube and he apologized for not listening and gave her another ube cookie for free. It's the little things. Can't wait to come back and make this a regular go-to! No pics, but what else is new? read more

So grateful to be sharing this review... My friends & I were in town for a New Years Eve staycation and needed brunch the next day. There seemed to be limited exciting spots to eat in Vallejo, so I was happy to receive this recommendation. There seemed to be amble parking in the lot directly across the street as well as street parking everywhere; but this was New Years Day so I'm sure folks weren't out much. Our walk-in party of 8 was seated promptly. The eclectic decor is fun and inviting. I was disappointed that Brunch was not available, especially with it being New Years Day. Their pastries looked tasty, so I craved a croissant sandwich but was not able to order since it was past 11am. So i opted for a deconstruced version (egg, avocado, and croissant all on separate plates ) and put in the work myself. I was grateful for my friend who ordered the tofu sandwich & delicious beet salad that I was able to add on my DIY sandwich because it complimented it perfectly. 5/8 of my party ordered the Chicken & Waffles, and each one was pleased. The french fries were golden, crunchy, and fried to perfection & the Lavender Lemonade was pretty damn good. We were so excited to try this place but it did not meet our expectations at all. I'm not sure if we went on the wrong day or time, but the food was NOT good. It made us feel queasy. We came here around a few months ago and I ordered the chicken and waffles which I do not recommend. The waffle came out mushy and too soft like it had been sitting out for a while/not freshly prepared. The chicken was flavored differently and tasted odd with a weird texture as if it had been fried twice in a very salty seasoning. My partner ordered tuna sandwich but it was a deconstructed version with one piece of toast. It was like avocado toast but with tuna and a mix of flavors that did not go well together. It looks pleasing but it just did not taste good. It was also very busy on a Sunday morning (understandably so) when we came that there was a 5-10 minute wait and we were sat in a very crowded area. We also asked to have a few minutes to look over the menu and it took a while for them to come back and take our order. Our server was nice and checked in a couple of times. I'm willing to give this place another try and maybe order something different. I'm hoping to update my review to a higher rating especially since this seems to be a well-liked establishment. I can't believe I've never had brunch at this spot in downtown vallejo until now! A gorgeous restaurant with a cozy, homey feel and delicious food. The chicken was juicy and crisp, and the waffle had a buttermilk flavor. The drinks were a nice addition and I'd definitely recommend the lavender lemonade if you like a more sour than sweet flavored lemonade. I will be coming here again for sure! read more

I have to admit I don't think about stopping in Vallejo much. All the recent news stories about the police there exacerbated an already shaky reputation for safety. However, Vallejo is not without its charms and since I was stopping at the Capitol Street Steps (review: https://bit.ly/3xl5tsa). I thought I'd give a quick look-around of the downtown area where I could tell efforts had been made to make it more tourist-friendly. I just happened upon this cafe housed in what looks to be a historic building. I was starting to notice it was the most popular spot in the area, which I'm sure wasn't accidental on a surprisingly warm Friday afternoon, so I was happy to snag the last outdoor table available for a solitary diner in the parklet. I decided to order a couple of items that ended up surpassing my expectations. The first was the $11 Provisions House Salad where all the compatible fresh ingredients meshed well in the bowl (photo: https://bit.ly/3xo8NCG). It consisted of organic arugula, shredded beets, carrots, pickled onion, and curried pepitas with a roasted shallot vinaigrette on the side. We had the chicken bulgogi plate, the chicken was tender and seasoned to perfection. The brown rice was the best I'd ever had, super soft and soaked up all the flavors so every bite was heavenly. Service was great and I loved the ambience. Kind of funky fun place. However, food wasn't good. I was so ready to love this place. Heard great things. Just really wasn't good. I had the avocado toast with an egg. There was so much lemon or citrus on the avocado that it no longer tasted like avocado. My sister had the all plant based breakfast. It literally had no flavor. Everything needed salt. Two others had the chicken and waffles which they both really liked. My other friend had standard breakfast and again needed a lot of salt. (I have found when chefs cook the same food over and over that they stop tasting the food. Someone needs to taste this food before it goes out to table.) I'm coming back because maybe it was just an off day and everyone can have one of those. Drinks were good. Going to give it another try soon and will revise this review accordingly. Ube match latte hot - highly recommend Ube latte iced also recommend DO NOT RECOMMEND or get at your own risk the Chilaquiles - way overcooked sunny side egg, soggy chips, sauce was very dense (didn't know that could happen) unfortunately this marks the first time I had an inedible Chilaquiles. Hindsight I really should have just told the waitress I cannot eat it and tried to return the dish. It was a hard dish to swallow literally at each bite. Not worth $16 and anyone that would have tried what I had I feel would agree. I left much of it on the plate after I could no longer force it down. Croissant sandwich - not sure what happened there but it tasted like a stale croissant that was toasted not flakey but very dry, egg was bland, bacon was ok, overall dry bland croissant. Breakfast plate - bland eggs, bacon ok, hash browns very dry. I enjoyed the acme bread. That was the best thing on the plate. Burrito - underwhelming is an understatement. I do not have the words to describe but it wasn't great. Blueberry scone - dry and wished it came warm. Didn't know you had to specifically ask to warm up the scone. Pairing it with a hot ube matcha latte helped that situation. Chocolate cake - was good. Paired nicely with the latte. The service and lattes saved this from being a one star review. I really hope I was the one off and everyone else's meals were worth it. As for now I'll stick to the drink and maybe pastries if I come back. read more

This is such a great neighborhood find. Good service and good quality food. I had not been since their remodel, and what a wonderful improvement. The previous space was cute, but the new arrangement gives a bright and fresh feel. The expansion of the outdoor seating area is also very nice. I ordered the croissant sandwich and a mocha for the much needed caffeine boost (The croissant was buttery and flaky and the egg was perfect, nice and fluffy, not overcooked.) The server came to the table rather quickly to take the order, so that was a plus. However, my food came out before my coffee drink. I was almost done with my sandwich, and still no coffee. I had to slow down on my eating to ensure I would not finish before my coffee arrived. The slow coffee is my only gripe, but I believe this could have been a rare occurrence. Stopped in here to check it out. Glad we did. We were famished and just walked through Farmer's Market. We came around 11:30 am and just missed the breakfast cutoff at 11. They do serve chicken and waffles until 4pm. That's what the Hubby ordered with over easy egg. I had the teriyaki bowl with fried chicken. I am so glad I got the bowl. It was full of so much good stuff. Brown rice, carrots, beets, cabbage, avocado, scrambled egg, teriyaki sauce and slices pieces of fried chicken. It was a lot of food, I had to take half of it home. My Hubby enjoyed his chicken and waffle to the last bite. Chicken was well seasoned with the waffle to compliment the sweet and savory. We didn't end up taking pictures because we were starving.
