This was a second time here. First time, we had brunch during comic con 2025 and this year, we did lunch on one for the comic con 2026 days. I really wanted chicken tenders but they only had it on the kids menu. Luckily, our server was able to get us an order of chicken tenders anyways! Great service and great food. We'll definitely be back for next comic con!
Came here for lunch during the week. Honestly I was not impressed at all. Very average food wise. Not very flavorful. Part of the Pendry hotel so I had higher hopes. Will not come back for this average food
I loved this spot! Cool interior with upscale industrial / vintage European vibes. Brunch was relaxing and delicious. I asked for the pistachio french toast but as pancakes, and I was so happy they were able to do it! I love Dubai chocolate, so that was an amazing sweet breakfast. My friend got the birria skillet and loved it! Great brunch, overall.
Making it to brunch here was closing a circle that started back in 2020 when we originally had our anniversary plan to stay here and have brunch at provisional kitchen. Six years later, it ended up being part of my husband surprise birthday Sunday. Provisional kitchen is a really bright open and beautiful dining room. Service was pretty great in general. We have the ostrich egg brunch. And while it was nerve-racking, knowing it was more than we could finish I'm so glad we ordered it. The yolk was incredibly decadent. The potatoes were so crispy and flavorful and great for dipping inside the yolk. We paired it with breakfast sausage and English muffins and everything all put together made some very delightful bites. They started us with a plate of fresh fruit and berries, and it was so delightful. Everything was perfectly ripe and it was important to have these bright bites later in the meal as a pallet cleanser. The mail wrapped up with a little cake for my husband's birthday, which he enjoyed immensely.. Absolutely delighted that I decided to come here!
I had previously visited Provisional Kitchen a few years ago for their holiday dinner experience, and it was great, unfortunately, their brunch today failed to deliver. I ordered the Pendry Breakfast and added a slice of french toast. The potatoes were too tough to chew. I'm not sure if they were cooked at too high of a temperature because the outside appeared cooked but the inside wasn't soft at all. Our server recommended that I choose another side of either a side salad, fries or tator tots (I got the side salad). The eggs were ordered medium and even that was cooked unevenly. It was overcooked on the top side and runny on the bottom. The french toast was also dry and seemed overcooked. Maybe the breakfast foods aren't this kitchen's forte. The iced matcha lattes were delicious btw. I will say I did enjoy the ambiance and my company. I liked the open, upscale aesthetic. Our server was awesome too - very friendly and professional. I'm not sure if I'll be back anytime soon since there are so many great restaurants in San Diego. Hopefully, it was just an off day for the kitchen.
Provisional Kitchen is located in the Pendry San Diego and they have a pretty complete breakfast and lunch menu. Eating here feels like you're eating in the middle of downtown in a big city. The restaurant is spacious with cool ambiance and lots of natural lighting from their high windows with ground level view of gaslamp. While staying at the Pendry, I ate here twice. On the first day, my wife ordered the Breakfast sandwich ($24) buttery with bacon ($4 addendum), Calabrian chili aioli, and omelet-style eggs. The sandwich was well constructed, the eggs were buttery and creamy, and the aioli gave a nice mildly spicy balance. I ordered the "everything fry bread and lox" ($26), which was a cool twist on a lox with bagel. Would have never thought to eat lox what was essentially on a savory donut. I enjoyed the dish, which came with onion, capers, tomato, cream cheese, and dill. Added pesto potatoes ($8) that were roasted with a buttery pesto sauce on top To drink, I had a Cafe de olla ($9), which I liked. My wife had black coffee for $6. Both were fine, but their prices are what they are. Overall, the food was good; however, it was quite pricey for what we got. When we went on our second day, my wife got their "pendry breakfast" ($24), which featured 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast, and I had buttermilk pancakes ($20). The pendry breakfast had eggs with a beautiful orange yolk; however, it was a pretty standard "American Breakfast". My buttermilk pancakes were soft and chewy; however, at $20, so they're priced at perfection. I tend to prefer pancakes that are fluffy with a nice crisp on the outside. The ambiance is upscale, they have a few interesting brunch items; however, the brunch here is ultimately very pricey, which brings it down to three stars for me.
I love the open kitchen concept and the interior design. However, the food at provisional kitchen is very very MID with high prices and long wait times. This restaurant is connected to the Pendry Hotel. My husband and I stayed at the Pendry and had free credit to spend on breakfast at provisional kitchen during our hotel stay so that's the only reason why we came here for breakfast two days in a row. I've tried the fried bread and lox, steak and eggs, chilaquiles, and Greek yogurt. The food all tasted ok. Nothing bad but nothing memorable. $16 for a bowl of Greek yogurt and granola is crazy. Service is pretty much nonexistent. On both days we only saw our server when it was time to take our order and for the check. Overall, I would not go out of my way to dine here.
Came here on a Sunday for a late lunch with a party of 8. We did not have a reservation but they luckily had a table available for our party when we walked up. I ordered the Italian salad and a Bloody Mary. The salad was pretty good. Not drenched in dressing and well seasoned. I really enjoyed the crispy chickpeas. The Bloody Mary was good as well. I asked for it to be extra spicy and it turned out pretty well. Overall I did enjoy my experience here. The food is a tad pricey but service was good and the decor is nice and classy.
Service was excellent! Had the Spicy Tomato Soup and Truffle Grilled cheese sandwich. Sand which has really tasty but the soup always a hair too spicy that took away from the tomato flavor. We also had the Spicy Crispy Chicken Wrap. This was very good with a good combo of flavors from the chicken and bacon and a good crispy satisfaction. We paired all of this with a bottle of Prosecco which was a good choice with three juice options to add (Guava, Lychee, and Blueberry). The restaurant has high ceilings and an open format. Lots of natural lighting and a clean restaurant. Will definitely stop back in if in the area. Cheers!
Stopped in for lunch while visiting San Diego. Sat outside on the patio which was mostly shaded this time of the day. Didn't have reservations which was fine - it wasn't too busy. Ordered margarita pizza which was really good, and a couple of glasses of wine. Our server was attentive.
Was here for a work event and we were just hungry so we popped in here right after landing. Immediately I'll say I loved the vibe of this place. It is located in a hotel and they were serving Sunday brunch but we had a great time. The food was really good and the espresso martini was FAB! I loved that their menu had a little bit of everything. It makes it difficult to pick things because everything sounds good, but a perfect scenario when you're with people that like to share food. I was a big fan of the steak frites - so good! Also, they cook a really great poached egg! When we went they had a watermelon juice and it was incredibly refreshing! The next time I'm in San Diego, I will be coming here again! The service was great and we had a lovely time!
I had the steak and eggs which was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and was seasoned perfectly. Maira was our server and she was AMAZING. She had a great attitude, great recommendations and was on it.
The breakfast pizza was amazing and one of my favorite breakfast dish I've had in a while. This dish is a great for sharing. Also, I tried the cafe de olla which was a perfect balance of cinnamon and coffee. The service was superb and the atmosphere was very beautiful with its decor and high ceilings. Make reservations because this restaurant can get busy.

We had such a great Sunday morning brunch here! We were staying at the hotel, and the front desk recommended making a reservation since Sunday mornings can get pretty busy. I'm glad we did because we were seated right away. Everything tasted fresh and was well prepared. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and the rest of the staff were just as welcoming. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a bright and comfortable atmosphere that makes it a really nice spot for brunch. Great food, great service, and an overall wonderful experience! read more
Drove to San Diego for the weekend and found this spot on YELP. Glad we did! As soon as you walk in, you get a really good vibe with sunlight and windows. Wonderful. Ambience was great - we didn't realize we were there for 2 hours! We ordered: Coffee with creamer (and they brought out a little steamed carafe of milk) - I've never been to a place that's brought my coffee out like that, loved it and coffee was great too- 10 out of 10. Pancakes for for the table, light and fluffy- 9 out of 10 Chilaquiles, crispy and chewy- 9 out of 10 Steak and crispy potatoes with poached eggs (you can get your eggs any way you want them)- 9 out of 10 Hamburger and Frites- Burger was cooked perfectly and loved the bun. I also asked for their basil garlic aioli and a spicy chili aoili on the side for the burger (both delicious) - 10 out of 10 Crispy Brussel Sprouts (again cooked perfectly and crispy, not drenched in sauce) 10 out of 10 Wish they had a location in LA - will definitely be back the next time I'm in San Diego! 10 out of 10 for me! read more

Enjoyed brunch at provisional kitchen. We started with a fresh fruit plate that had some nicely ripened choices that were nibbled the entire meal. Following the fruit the tale shared a breakfast pizza. Who has ever known of such a thing and I here for all of it. One slice of a nice crispy crust with bacon spinach and a sunny side up egg right in the middle. An absolute surprise of a treat. Someone got the avocado toast and liked it. I had buttermilk pancakes that had the most fresh flavor I've had in pancakes in a while. It's a beautiful restaurant attached to the hotel and thankfully we arrived before the twelve o'clock crowd and were able to get out with great attentive service. read more

Went to bestie hour with my bestie and it was SUCH a good deal. The amount of food, and the quality you receive is amazing! The drinks weren't the tastiest but I am also not a huge martini fan. Pizza, Salad, and charcuterie were all delicious. Service was good. Will come back for sure! Ambiance was super classy. read more

We were staying at the Pendry and wanted to try out their in restaurant spot Provisional Kitchen. We have a baby so naturally our wake time is super early and it's nice they opened around that time. Overall was good and would come back to try other brunch items. Food 4/5 We Chilaquiles hit the spot. Very flavorful. Breakfast Burrito was delicious and can't go wrong. Bigger than expected. Service Good service was attentive, though we were the few customers there cause we got their right at open Ambiance Very nice, clean place. Kitchen view is open so it's cool to see chefs do their thing. read more
Dined with a party of 7 for an early brunch. Started off strong as the hosts were very sweet and accommodating when we had to adjust our reservation. Res was made on Open Table a few weeks in advance. Ordered the Provisional Sandwich which was really good. Great sourdough, well cooked eggs and very filling and flavorful. I felt the value of the meal was fair to the cost. They were also kind enough to give our party a birthday dessert and shot. Very kind! Ambiance: airy, elegant but the guests were still casual Service: very friendly host and server, but on the slower side due to lack of staff A solid choice for brunch with a beautiful ambiance, but wouldn't be at the top of my list of recommendations. read more
Great brunch spot. They set the bar very high by reminding us that they have received awards for best breakfast in San Diego. While it was a good breakfast, I wouldn't say it was anything special and fell short of their bar. My guess is the ambiance is what sells it (very nice), not the menu. I had a pistachio coffee which was one of their specialty drinks and it was just sweetened with a very fake syrup. Not good! You couldn't even taste the coffee. read more
First time here with my family last week. The service was good. The ambiance was super adorable. The food was amazing! We had the margarita pizza, breakfast pizza, and eggs Benedict. I did make reservations. We parked in a parking garage. Definitely a good time with family, friends, or even on a date. read more
Stopped by here before a conference and it definitely hits the spot for a hungry person. Brunch was a good option and seating is available if you walk in.... Usually. The Breakfast pizza hits the spot as it's kinda just loaded with everything including eggs. Each bite is savory and hearty without feeling too heavy so this is a good option if you wanna share with the table too. Smores french toast wasn't too bad, but it wasn't particularly amazing either. It's sweet enough that you don't need syrup to go with it but for what you're paying for, it's quite conservative in the amount they give you. Either way, I digress as Provisional is a good downtown option if you want to keep brunch walking distance instead of driving around. read more
Located in gaslamp San Diego. Note that it's at Pendry hotel but not at the same address as Pendry. There was supposed to be a 5 course tasting but was cancelled due to a conference in town. We tried some foods. It's a nice atmosphere to hang out with friends. Drinks were good. My husband ordered a pasta dish and the Al dente was under cooked and noodles were hard. Also note the wild mushroom appetizer is phenomenal! read more

Came here for brunch and though I wanted to love it, it was just ok. Checking in was a bit frustrating because even though we had reservations, we weren't seated until 30+ min because they over booked. Given, it was New Years's day, but it just wasn't handled as smoothly as it should have been. When we did get seated, our server was amazing. She was attentive, personable, and friendly throughout our whole meal. So even though getting seated was a mess, her level of service made up for it 9/10. The food unfortunately was just ok. For the price, I'd expect it to be better. I had the chicken bowl, it just wasn't as I expected it to be. I tried my bf's chicken wrap, and that was pretty good, but not for the price. Based on what I tasted food would be 7/10. Overall the place is nice as far as ambiance. And being during the holiday season, they had some decor and of course the hotel itself is always nicely decorated 10/10. read more

Got it -- here's a clean version with no dashes, keeping it smooth and natural: Review Draft for The Pendry (Brunch) We came here over Labor Day weekend and it was by far the best brunch we had. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and what stood out most was the service. It was quick, attentive, and our waters never ran empty. I ordered the eggs Benedict and every bite tasted like it came straight from the farmers market that morning. Everything was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly prepared. My wife had an omelet and a chocolate chip pancake, and both were fantastic. The pancake was on the thinner side which we loved with just the right amount of chocolate chips, making it indulgent without being too heavy. Between the amazing food, attentive service, and beautiful setting, The Pendry absolutely nailed it. Highly recommend for anyone looking to elevate their brunch experience in Austin. read more
Tried out Provisional Kitchen with my girlfriends family and had an amazing experience. We were very lucky and had a few special dishes from the chef! This restaurant is located in the Pendry hotel in downtown San Diego. The restaurant has an open concept where you can see into the kitchen and great esthetic. My favorite dish was the grilled octopus which was a special that the chef prepared for us. The octopus was cooked perfectly and the shishito peppers paired perfectly with the octopus and sauce. The homemade pappardelle was cooked al dente with a delicious bolognese. My first time having Wagyu skirt steak did not disappoint, it was cooked medium and the smoked tomato puree was to die for! Best Hotel Breakfast Ever We had an amazing breakfast at Provisional Kitchen, made even better by our fantastic waiter Cande. His recommendations were spot-on, his service flawless, and every dish impressed--not one disappointment. The Café de Olla was especially delicious, full of warm, spiced flavor. We also tried the five-course brunch tasting, and every bite was excellent--creative, balanced, and beautifully presented. Chef Dana is incredibly talented and even took time to speak with us about the food, which made the experience feel truly special. Easily the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. Service 9/10 (host needs work) Walked up "for two?" Me: "yes" "your room number?" Uhhhh. How about "Hello welcome to provisional, how are you two doing on this lovely Saturday morning?" Food 9.5/10!!!! Ambiance 9.5/10 such beautiful chandeliers Now let's get to it: One of the best breakfast menus I have witnessed. if I could eat breakfast here everyday I would. You know it's going to be good when you have quite a tough time deciding on what to get cause everything sounds so damn good. After telling the server my top 3 choices, he assisted me in ordering the Birria skillet. Wow! So flavorful and served with hot mini corn tortillas! Just grab a tortilla and scoop up some deliciousness. Nothing better to start the day than that and an unbelievably delicious coffee and fresh pressed juice! But Wow, what a coffee let me tell ya. My girlfriend ordered the avocado toast and she was also in love with it. She managed to finish the whole thing which is rare, but she said it was so divine! The only other real kink beside the host, was that I waited a bit too long to be able to order another side of tortillas. But I can't say it ruined our meal. Everything was too good to be ruined by that, and our server besides that was excellent. Great at welcoming/talking, very nice and was quite knowledgeable about the menu which from my experience is difficult to find nowadays. Can't wait to return! A tip: I ordered a side of the market fruit. Server did not inform me it was 90% apples. Because oh Boy we are both apple haters. So it definitely would have been nice to know that, but I can't be too unhappy about it. read more

I made a reservation for 11 people and closure to the day it was reduced to 8 people. The restaurant was very accommodating. The group showed up at varies hours and the host made sure everyone got the attention that was required. We had our bills split by all 8 people. I had ordered a customized omelette with a side of berries and green tea. The omelette was very fulfilling and everyone at the table enjoyed their respected meal. There was a chicken wrap which was the winning dish at the table. Highly recommend this place and the interior of the building is breath taking. The street is filled with some amazing restaurants. Been waiting 10 years or so to try the Ostrich Egg, since I first saw it advertised on Facebook. It was more limited to the weekends back then and we just never got to booking here for it. I don't know where time went but I'm glad we finally came. Not only did they give us a nice spacious booth but we also had a wonderful waitress. Shoutout to Norma for making our brunch there a pleasant experience. She was fantastic and thorough in explaining our plates and I felt like a kid getting to see the egg and take it home. My husband and I were out for our 2 year anniversary. The ostrich egg was HUMONGOUS, probably enough for more like 6 people. I'm glad I finally got to try this place. We will be back :) other things on the menu looked appealing too so can't wait to try. read more

We serve bottomless mimosas with house made syrups for $25 per person with a 90 minute time.
