Came here for lunch during the week. Honestly I was not impressed at all. Very average food wise. Not very flavorful. Part of the Pendry hotel so I had higher hopes. Will not come back for this average food

I loved this spot! Cool interior with upscale industrial / vintage European vibes. Brunch was relaxing and delicious. I asked for the pistachio french toast but as pancakes, and I was so happy they were able to do it! I love Dubai chocolate, so that was an amazing sweet breakfast. My friend got the birria skillet and loved it! Great brunch, overall.

This was a second time here. First time, we had brunch during comic con 2025 and this year, we did lunch on one for the comic con 2026 days. I really wanted chicken tenders but they only had it on the kids menu. Luckily, our server was able to get us an order of chicken tenders anyways! Great service and great food. We'll definitely be back for next comic con!

Making it to brunch here was closing a circle that started back in 2020 when we originally had our anniversary plan to stay here and have brunch at provisional kitchen. Six years later, it ended up being part of my husband surprise birthday Sunday. Provisional kitchen is a really bright open and beautiful dining room. Service was pretty great in general. We have the ostrich egg brunch. And while it was nerve-racking, knowing it was more than we could finish I'm so glad we ordered it. The yolk was incredibly decadent. The potatoes were so crispy and flavorful and great for dipping inside the yolk. We paired it with breakfast sausage and English muffins and everything all put together made some very delightful bites. They started us with a plate of fresh fruit and berries, and it was so delightful. Everything was perfectly ripe and it was important to have these bright bites later in the meal as a pallet cleanser. The mail wrapped up with a little cake for my husband's birthday, which he enjoyed immensely.. Absolutely delighted that I decided to come here!

I had previously visited Provisional Kitchen a few years ago for their holiday dinner experience, and it was great, unfortunately, their brunch today failed to deliver. I ordered the Pendry Breakfast and added a slice of french toast. The potatoes were too tough to chew. I'm not sure if they were cooked at too high of a temperature because the outside appeared cooked but the inside wasn't soft at all. Our server recommended that I choose another side of either a side salad, fries or tator tots (I got the side salad). The eggs were ordered medium and even that was cooked unevenly. It was overcooked on the top side and runny on the bottom. The french toast was also dry and seemed overcooked. Maybe the breakfast foods aren't this kitchen's forte. The iced matcha lattes were delicious btw. I will say I did enjoy the ambiance and my company. I liked the open, upscale aesthetic. Our server was awesome too - very friendly and professional. I'm not sure if I'll be back anytime soon since there are so many great restaurants in San Diego. Hopefully, it was just an off day for the kitchen.

Provisional Kitchen is located in the Pendry San Diego and they have a pretty complete breakfast and lunch menu. Eating here feels like you're eating in the middle of downtown in a big city. The restaurant is spacious with cool ambiance and lots of natural lighting from their high windows with ground level view of gaslamp. While staying at the Pendry, I ate here twice. On the first day, my wife ordered the Breakfast sandwich ($24) buttery with bacon ($4 addendum), Calabrian chili aioli, and omelet-style eggs. The sandwich was well constructed, the eggs were buttery and creamy, and the aioli gave a nice mildly spicy balance. I ordered the "everything fry bread and lox" ($26), which was a cool twist on a lox with bagel. Would have never thought to eat lox what was essentially on a savory donut. I enjoyed the dish, which came with onion, capers, tomato, cream cheese, and dill. Added pesto potatoes ($8) that were roasted with a buttery pesto sauce on top To drink, I had a Cafe de olla ($9), which I liked. My wife had black coffee for $6. Both were fine, but their prices are what they are. Overall, the food was good; however, it was quite pricey for what we got. When we went on our second day, my wife got their "pendry breakfast" ($24), which featured 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast, and I had buttermilk pancakes ($20). The pendry breakfast had eggs with a beautiful orange yolk; however, it was a pretty standard "American Breakfast". My buttermilk pancakes were soft and chewy; however, at $20, so they're priced at perfection. I tend to prefer pancakes that are fluffy with a nice crisp on the outside. The ambiance is upscale, they have a few interesting brunch items; however, the brunch here is ultimately very pricey, which brings it down to three stars for me.

$16 for a bowl of Greek yogurt and granola is kinda crazy. It was pretty though

I love the open kitchen concept and the interior design. However, the food at provisional kitchen is very very MID with high prices and long wait times. This restaurant is connected to the Pendry Hotel. My husband and I stayed at the Pendry and had free credit to spend on breakfast at provisional kitchen during our hotel stay so that's the only reason why we came here for breakfast two days in a row. I've tried the fried bread and lox, steak and eggs, chilaquiles, and Greek yogurt. The food all tasted ok. Nothing bad but nothing memorable. $16 for a bowl of Greek yogurt and granola is crazy. Service is pretty much nonexistent. On both days we only saw our server when it was time to take our order and for the check. Overall, I would not go out of my way to dine here.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting San Diego. Sat outside on the patio which was mostly shaded this time of the day. Didn't have reservations which was fine - it wasn't too busy. Ordered margarita pizza which was really good, and a couple of glasses of wine. Our server was attentive.

Came here on a Sunday for a late lunch with a party of 8. We did not have a reservation but they luckily had a table available for our party when we walked up. I ordered the Italian salad and a Bloody Mary. The salad was pretty good. Not drenched in dressing and well seasoned. I really enjoyed the crispy chickpeas. The Bloody Mary was good as well. I asked for it to be extra spicy and it turned out pretty well. Overall I did enjoy my experience here. The food is a tad pricey but service was good and the decor is nice and classy.

I had the steak and eggs which was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and was seasoned perfectly. Maira was our server and she was AMAZING. She had a great attitude, great recommendations and was on it.

Service was excellent! Had the Spicy Tomato Soup and Truffle Grilled cheese sandwich. Sand which has really tasty but the soup always a hair too spicy that took away from the tomato flavor. We also had the Spicy Crispy Chicken Wrap. This was very good with a good combo of flavors from the chicken and bacon and a good crispy satisfaction. We paired all of this with a bottle of Prosecco which was a good choice with three juice options to add (Guava, Lychee, and Blueberry). The restaurant has high ceilings and an open format. Lots of natural lighting and a clean restaurant. Will definitely stop back in if in the area. Cheers!

Was here for a work event and we were just hungry so we popped in here right after landing. Immediately I'll say I loved the vibe of this place. It is located in a hotel and they were serving Sunday brunch but we had a great time. The food was really good and the espresso martini was FAB! I loved that their menu had a little bit of everything. It makes it difficult to pick things because everything sounds good, but a perfect scenario when you're with people that like to share food. I was a big fan of the steak frites - so good! Also, they cook a really great poached egg! When we went they had a watermelon juice and it was incredibly refreshing! The next time I'm in San Diego, I will be coming here again! The service was great and we had a lovely time!

The breakfast pizza was amazing and one of my favorite breakfast dish I've had in a while. This dish is a great for sharing. Also, I tried the cafe de olla which was a perfect balance of cinnamon and coffee. The service was superb and the atmosphere was very beautiful with its decor and high ceilings. Make reservations because this restaurant can get busy.

If fruity drinks are not your jam... what are you doing in a Tiki Bar!! No really, they have great options for on the rocks or straight as well as ordering your favorite cocktail or beer. They have a ton of options, all sorts of alcohol bases depending on what your vice is, they also have non-alcoholic drinks for those so inclined. Hard to pass on a Mai Tai or a Zombie to start your evening off. lately I have been enjoying the Eastern Sour which is their take on a whiskey sour. It's always fun when someone orders a bowl and the room shakes and the lights flash with thunder and lightning adding a bit of excitement for first timers. Just to recap: Don't get mad if you have to wait and did not make a reservation. While they have lots of options, most drinks and all specialties are Tiki Drinks. Tiki drinks can be strong, mind yourself. If a place like this is not your vibe, that is fine, head back into Craft & Commerce, make room for others who are waiting to get in, just have fun!

If you're not a regular, be careful, because apparently all it takes is one drunk friend of the staff making up a story to get you kicked out. While visiting San Diego with friends, we came here after hearing so many great things. There was a short wait, which was fine. The four of us were seated at a small standing table, also fine. Behind us were two guys drinking at the standing bar. One of them bumped into my friend and then stroked her arm while apologizing. She was visibly uncomfortable, so I told her to switch places with me. The guy immediately said, "We're gay, so you don't have to worry," then turned to his friend and said, "Now he looks so stupid and embarrassing." I told him, "I don't think it's embarrassing to make sure your friends are comfortable," then turned back around. I didn't argue with him, insult him, or continue the conversation. I thought that was the end of it. A few minutes later, the manager came over and told us we had made comments that made other patrons uncomfortable and asked us to leave. We had already paid for our drinks and were still waiting for them. My friend followed the manager to ask what was going on, and I joined shortly after. The person complaining was, of course, the same guy who had bumped into her. He was clearly drunk and started rambling about how we had made homophobic comments toward him and his friend. This was especially ridiculous considering the friend I switched places with was there with her girlfriend. We calmly explained exactly what happened. The manager did not care. There was no real attempt to hear our side, ask questions, or figure out what actually happened. The decision had clearly already been made. While we were speaking to the manager, the guy who complained was cheerfully talking with one of the bartenders, receiving a to-go meal, and greeting them cheek to cheek. He very obviously appeared to know the staff. So that seems to be how things work here: a drunk regular or friend of the staff can make up whatever story he wants, and management will throw out an entire group of paying customers without even pretending to investigate. They refunded the drinks, which was the bare minimum. The ambience was nice, but that means absolutely nothing when the staff handles customers this poorly. Awful management, blatant favoritism, and easily the worst service I have ever experienced. I would never come back, and I would strongly warn anyone who isn't already friends with the staff to stay away.

Tonight was girls' night out, so we decided to order the prettier, and sweeter cocktails. But don't let the sweet flavors fool you--they are definitely generous with the alcohol. These drinks may taste dangerously easy to sip, but they pack a punch! I don't even remember the names of the cocktails we ordered, but honestly, that doesn't matter because the menu changes so often. And that's one of the things I love most about Music Bar. I honestly don't know how the bartenders come up with these combinations, but kudos to the team for constantly pushing their creativity while still making every cocktail incredibly well balanced. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, Music Bar never disappoints. I'll definitely keep coming back to see what new creations they come up with next. Always a 5 Star experience when gathering for drinks here…read more Over the years, the names have changed for the provider of Polite Provision's delicious orderable food to go along with their polite provisions. Items such as scrupulously prepared meatballs, fried polenta, spaghetti with mushroom sauce, etc., from the prior next-door, connected purveyor "Soda and Swine"...but those days are done ...I digress. And where is Soda and Swine's Yelp page? I know I did a review, but now the page appears gone completely in search? Nah, it's just hidden, presumably to accommodate Fortunate Sons, which opened about a year ago after re-construction of both establishments. I'm too lazy to see if still owned by Consortium Group. I did search my reviews and found my updated Soda & Swine review dated 8 & 10 years ago. O_o !! Now, food is still served, however, there's a new name in town called "Fortunate Son" (next door, connected). Apparently, food now served is Asian-inspired. I've not visited recently to taste. The North Park area is a great neighborhood with many different types of food close by. While you're there, don't forget to stop by "An's Dry Cleaners", where the most inventive gelato's, ice creams and sorbets come from.

You can order from the bar or your table. Lots of different seating options indoors and outdoors…read more Very extensive drink menu almost too many options. The drinks we ordered were good and service didn't take too long. Right next to Fortunate Son so you can order food from them and enjoy in their bar.

My friend and I made reservations here for this past Thursday at 9 PM, and I'm already looking…read moreforward to coming back! Definitely make a reservation in advance through OpenTable because they fill up pretty quickly. There is also a deposit required, which you can lose if you no-show or cancel within 24 hours, but the deposit is refunded once you arrive for your reservation. When you arrive, a hostess greets you at the entrance. There's a small waiting area where you can sit until they come get you. Then there's a door where you press a button, and it opens to bring you into the restaurant/bar. Inside, there's a mix of tables and bar seating, and they serve food in addition to having an extensive cocktail menu. The drink menu was definitely the highlight for me. There were so many creative and unique cocktails that really stood out. I'm usually not a huge cocktail person because I don't like overly sweet drinks, and it can be surprisingly difficult to find cocktails that are both original and sophisticated enough to actually sip and enjoy. They definitely nailed that here. I tried several: *Kasato Maru: This was so smooth and absolutely delicious. By far my favorite. You could really pick up the St. Germain elderflower and pear, and the flavors worked beautifully together. Definitely one of my favorites. *Sunomono: This was more liquor-forward, but still incredibly smooth. Definitely a good choice if you want something that lets the spirits shine. *Je Ju: Unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. It had a really unusual flavor that just didn't work with my palate, and my friend wasn't a fan either. I'm usually not one to send a drink back, but the staff was fantastic about it. They happily took it back and made me a completely different cocktail. *Softly Spoken: My friend ordered this one, and it came in a glass filled with small ice cubes. I tried it and thought it was really good, but it wasn't quite my personal preference. It definitely had more of a fruity flavor profile. The food looked absolutely amazing although we didn't eat here this time. There are still so many cocktails on the menu that I want to try so I'll definitely need to come back. The atmosphere is dimly lit, intimate, and full of character. It has that cool, moody feel that makes you want to sit back, sip a cocktail, and stay awhile. And the service was phenomenal from start to finish. Overall, this was such a fun experience. Great atmosphere, creative cocktails, excellent service, and plenty more on the menu I still want to try. I can't wait to come back!
