How can you beat a six dollar burger and fries for lunch? Not only is it a good deal, but it's also a great burger. I was pretty surprised on how big the burger was too, coming with two patties 8/10. The place is also a fun and quaint bar with cabin or lodge like vibes 7.5/10. Service was great, seems like they work in teams, so someone was always asking if we needed anything 9/10.

My friends and I came for the lunch special on a Friday: $6 for burgers and fries! Servers were helpful enough, though they didn't seem to pay much attention to any of the people there for lunch other than to take the initial order, which was fine. The burger and fries were fantastic for $6, would definitely come again. It came out pretty quickly so we made good time on our lunch hour. The restaurant itself was clean and had good bar vibes.

Home to the Minnesota Vikings fan during football season. I'm surprised I haven't ate here at this restaurant. My Bestie and I went here before our comedy show and we were not disappointed. There was no wait when we went , I was able to see the ambience of the restaurant. It is so cute when it's stressed up for the Minnesota Viking fans All we ordered was Parmesan truffle fries, and pork belly fried rice and even though it was just a little appetizer we had before our show it was so delicious. We also had some of the cocktails. My favorite is the " young, dumb and broke." That Drink, it is so tasty. This bar is also connected to the shout house, so definitely this is worth coming back again!

Stumbled upon this place in Downtown SD for brunch, we were seated right when they opened and they took care of us right away. It's such a cute restaurant, the door is literally a garage so there is an indoor and an outdoor. It has some western vibe to it, they even have an upstairs which I assume they open later in the day. They play some good music too, it was nice to just hang out with some breakfast and dranks while watching the football game. My husband enjoyed it! I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was delicious, it was very filling and my husband ordered an omelette. We both enjoyed our food and our drinks, we stayed there for awhile while waiting for our massage appointment. Servers were attentive as well, even though it started to get busy. Highly recommend this place for brunch in downtown SD, hope you enjoy your time as much as we did!

Wow, pleasantly surprised how good the food was. We went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and expected typical bar food, but shocked how good it was. The menu is small which makes sense if everything is good. We ordered the tacos sampler and ahi nachos. The tacos were really good and flavorful that we ordered a second serving. The ahi nachos with the edamame paste was also great. Others in our party ordered burgers, steak salad, and wings which all looked very good. As for service, good service overall. Drinks were reasonable good and priced.

Girls weekend in SD and we chose the Garage for our Saturday get up and go. Such a fun place! Wait staff was nice, attentive, and welcoming. If you love Bloody Mary's...just get the 32oz. It was perfect! Only thing missing from the accoutrements, was bacon and or pickles. All of our breakfast choices were DELISH! The atmosphere was fun, and they play fun, dance in your seat music. Don't forget your photo opp on your way out.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. We were walking around looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon Garage. The gentleman at the door was super nice and asked us where we wanted to sit and we chose the bar. The bartender waited on us immediately and took our drink orders. We ordered the fries with 3 dipping sauces for an appetizer and knew we were in for a good dinner because they were delicious. When it was time to order dinner. My wife ordered the short ribs and I ordered the French dip sandwich ( those who read my reviews know I'm a French dip snob). Both were DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! The French dip was maybe top 5 which is very difficult to crack my top 5. My wife's short rib was amazing, the only feedback is the carrots needed a little more time. Both bartenders, male and female were outstanding. The door gentlemen was outstanding and the manager was outstanding. If you are in San Diego Gas lamp area stop here, you won't be sorry.

We stopped at Garage Kitchen + Bar for our Wednesday pre-Padres game lunch. We'd heard about the "Crazy Bob's Burger" deal. A burger and fries for six bucks! Served only twice per day between 11:00AM-noon and 3:00PM-4:00PM. It is a screaming deal! A juicy burger topped with white cheddar cheese, LTO, pickles and Thousand Island dressing all in a fantastic brioche. A very generous helping of hot out of the fryer fries, perfectly cooked and salted. Even a pickle spear on the side! Deb was our bartender, and she was outstanding! Super friendly, super cute and attentive. Four of us started at the bar, but decided a 4-top would be better. Deb happily helped us move to the table. We would absolutely return.

Came here on a Sunday after I found out this was also a Vikings fans bar. Their season isn't going well so there wasn't much of a crowd but I still wanted to see myself. There is an upper deck with a big screen to show games so very spacious spot. Not sure if it's every touchdown but they give the Vikings blood shot each time for free. I got their crazy burger deal and oh man! What a great deal and meal! Would definitely go back just for that!! This spot shares same bathrooms as Shout House which is right next to this spot.

5/11/2025 - Garage Kitchen + Bar - Gaslamp Edition Parking? Forget about it. It's Gaslamp--park like a local and emotionally detach from your car for a few hours. Once you survive that urban jungle, Garage Kitchen & Bar makes it worth the trauma. They were going through a theme glow-up, so the vibe was a little "Pinterest mood board meets identity crisis"--but honestly, we were into it. It's like the bar was trying on different personalities and we were here to cheer it on. The bartender was a gem and whipped up a mystery cucumber cocktail that was so refreshing, it had us flirting with sobriety (but only for a second). We brainstormed names like "Cool Runnings," "Spa Water with a Kick," and "Cuke Me Up, Scotty"... nothing stuck, but the buzz did. The chicken & waffles? Golden. Crispy. Sweet and savory perfection. Like brunch and soul food had a delicious little love child. The pork belly hash was hearty and dense so not for the faint of heart. And don't you dare leave without trying the cereal shot flight--nostalgia in a shot glass, with just enough booze to make your inner child feel scandalous. 10/10 would return... if I can parallel park without having a breakdown.

Heard about this place and wanted to try it out. It's located in the Gaslamp district and is very family friendly. They have happy hour 3pm-6pm everyday. That included 51% off all drinks and $3 off all apps. I loved the ahi tuna poke nachos! They were delicious and will definitely get these again. There wasn't much of a wait and they got us seated within 10 minutes during happy hour. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a more casual vibe!

Good spot for a casual night out in Gaslamp area. Service was friendly and welcoming. Lots of TVs so it's also a good spot to enjoy a game. They were accommodating with substitutions as I ordered the Tex Mex Burger with chicken rather than beef.

    G-BOB'S BURGER $7 special
    Payge C.

Happy hour on a weekend in Gaslamp SD? Yes! On top of that $7 for Bob's burger with fries. Burger was delicious! The pickle was crunchy too. The fries could have been fresher. We also got the coconut shrimp and they were pretty pricey for the quantity and taste. I wouldn't get it again. Service was great! Did wish they served milkshakes.

Can i make a reservation for brunch?

I suggest calling and asking as they are not on "opentable."

Can I make a reservation or is it only walk in?

Either or. I know through the yelp app you can make a resy, or just walk in and grab a seat at the bar. Friendly staff all around.

Everything we selected was really good. Wed got the Frito Pie ($12), Chicken thigh tenders ($7), and Tots ($7). The frito pie presentation was my second favorite part (after the bear glass drink), It came in a all-clad style bowl with the chip bag cut open inside, loaded with Texas-style chilli, melted nacho cheese, and shredded cheese. It was so good I even started adding tots in there too. The tots and Thigh tenders had the perfect crisp! They have sweet and sour chili sauce for dipping with the chicken which was fab! The retro decor made the place even better. I loved seeing the old Blockbuster VHS tapes and music cassettes displayed around the bar. My little eye also spot the Dallas Cowboys flag! Texas energy is definitely in the house. There's also a small arcade area in the back, and my eyes instantly lit up seeing PAC-Man. We didn't get to fully explore the game room because we were trying to make it to Ghirardelli Ice cream & Chocolate shop for dessert before they closed at midnight too. Thankfully everything worked out perfectly since our car was parked right in front of Ghirardelli. NO military discount was honored here even though the owner is a veteran, but overall I still had a really good experience and would definitely come back whenever I'm in the Gaslamp district in SD, Cali. When I entered the restaurant around 7:00 PM, I was stopped and questioned extensively by security regarding my service animal. Rather than being asked the limited ADA-compliant questions permitted by law, the interaction became prolonged and uncomfortable while staff repeatedly attempted to determine whether my dog was a "real" service animal or simply an emotional support animal. I remained waiting at the entrance while this was repeatedly discussed back and forth. What made the situation especially humiliating was that another patron openly laughed at me during the interaction while walking outside for a cigarette. I later realized this same patron had her own dog inside the establishment in a stroller the entire time. Staff members appeared very familiar and comfortable with her, and multiple employees, including my waitress- referred to her as a "regular." Although her dog was eventually moved to the patio area, the contrast in how the situations were handled made me feel singled out, embarrassed, and unfairly scrutinized. I later spoke with management in hopes of resolving the matter respectfully. During that conversation, I was surprised and concerned to hear that neither management nor staff were familiar with psychiatric service animals or their protections under the ADA. Psychiatric service animals are legally recognized service animals when trained to perform disability-related tasks, and this lack of awareness was deeply concerning, especially in a city like San Diego with a large disabled and veteran community. I fully understand that businesses are allowed to ask limited ADA-compliant questions regarding service animals, and I also understand that many establishments have dealt with individuals falsely claiming pets as service animals. However, there is a significant difference between appropriately verifying a service animal and making a disabled customer feel publicly interrogated and humiliated. The overall handling of this interaction lacked professionalism, sensitivity, and basic understanding of ADA service animal protections. No customer should feel mocked, scrutinized, or publicly embarrassed simply for entering a restaurant with a legitimate service animal. I sincerely hope this situation can serve as an opportunity for additional ADA education and proper service animal training for staff moving forward so that other disabled guests do not experience similar treatment. I would appreciate being informed of any steps the restaurant intends to take regarding ADA compliance and staff training before I determine how I would like to proceed further. Thank you for your time and attention.

Captain's Log, Stardate 21483…read more This past Sunday, I charted a course to Nicky Rottens in Coronado, a delightful establishment located at the end of Orange Avenue. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by an uplifting open-air environment, truly a breath of fresh air that felt like stepping onto the observation deck of the USS Enterprise. The amazing views of the bay were nothing short of spectacular, bringing a serene beauty that rivals the finest star systems. Over the years, my wife, her girlfriend, and I have become frequent travelers to this culinary haven, beaming back for nearly 15 years--a testament to its enduring allure. The selection of IPAs and mixed drinks is impressive, catering to even the most discerning palates in the galaxy. The choices are vast enough to satisfy anyone embarking on this flavor exploration, whether you prefer a refreshing drink to toast a successful mission or something bolder, like a phaser on stun! The menu features a delightful array of options, including fresh salads, tantalizing finger foods, and, of course, their famed burgers. My wife's enthusiasm for the offerings has always been infectious, and during this visit, she and her girlfriend were on a culinary adventure of their own, indulging in the flavors that have made Nicky Rottens a local favorite. The burgers are truly out of this world--juicy, flavorful, and expertly crafted to ensure a warp-speed experience with every bite. You'll find that each dish is prepared with precision, as if overseen by a skilled chef with the abilities of a Vulcan and the passion of a true culinary Starfleet officer. In conclusion, Nicky Rottens is a prime destination for anyone seeking a vibrant atmosphere, stunning views, and a solid meal. I can confidently say that if you ever find yourself in Coronado, this establishment is a must-visit. After all, it's just one small step for man, and one giant leap into deliciousness! Live long and prosper. End log. Captain 619

Aside from that, they're generic normal tasting tater tots. For the burger, I liked the bun and other ingredients, but thought the savoriness of the meat was just okay. Also, can't say I'm a huge fan of the tiny lettuce whenever I see it. Overall, this joint is not bad, but I can think of very little about it that stands out. I don't feel that it fully leans into being a sports bar or dive bar or even as a burger joint. It's just.....a bar. Apparently, it prides itself as being an original coronado spot, but I didn't get that kinda vibe here. I don't know.

Thank you, Jesse; we truly appreciate how wonderful you are. The cleanliness of this bar is impressive. Watching sports here feels just like home, yet uniquely exciting--big screens, great food and drinks, and even better company. It's truly a priceless experience. Free and convenient parking.

Plenty of street parking even for a 1pm game start! Unlike places like Gaslamp, PB, Hillcrest I was pleasantly surprised! ADD 1 STAR Great outdoor seating area both covered and also out in the sun. Huge outdoor screen for the game too. Plenty of other tvs around the bar! ADD 1 STAR Plenty of water stations to help keep you hydrated! Even dog bowls for your 4 legged friends! ADD 1 STAR Staff were friendly and welcoming and always came around to clear our table. My only issue was the food. I was so disappointed in the smash burger. What's up with smashing the bun into a hard pancake both top and bottom bun? I've had better tasting smash burgers but I can get a better one at Jack in the Box and for $10 cheaper. It was so underwhelming I didn't even want to take a picture. The tator tots were awesome! Perfect crunch and spice....so flavorful! The women's bathroom is a little strange and quite frankly a waste. Two toilets set up side by side like how urinals are. This only works if 2 close friends are in there. They could easily make this 2 stalls and keep lines to a minimum. So 2 toilets but really just 1 women's bathroom.

Whether I'm popping into the Golden Hill spot or making a stop while visiting friends in IB, the result is always the same: consistently great pizza and zero regrets. There's something about walking in, scanning the case, and immediately deciding you need at least two slices--ideally completely different, because why limit yourself? Our go-tos? The White Girl and the OG Crime Scene. Both are standouts for very different reasons, and we somehow convince ourselves every time that adding a "new slice for research purposes" is the right move. It always is. The crust hits that perfect balance--crispy, chewy, and sturdy enough to handle all the goodness on top without falling apart mid-bite (a true art form). One of the few crust I eat from end to end. It's casual, it's reliable, and it delivers every single time. We've been loyal to the slices so far, but the rolls and other menu items are calling our name--so safe to say, we'll be back soon with more "research" and another review.
