I recently revisited Provider for a morning coffee meeting. Upon r eye ring, I was a little bummed to not find the warm and inviting service that I felt this space used to hold. After tip, my ginger latte cost $10 and was served in a to go cup despite saying we were sticking around. It seemed like this was the case for many others in the shop as well. Something about a $10 latte in a to go cup loses its charm and the overall communal vibe of sticking around. It's such a great location and the drinks are fabulous. I'm a big believer that the staff are key to the coffee shop experience and why I spend on going out vs making my own at home. I'm hopeful that the warmth can return here
I popped in to Provider for the first time ever! This is such a welcoming and cozy space with natural lighting and lots of plants. There were many people working and meeting, so I got the impression this is a popular spot for remote work. What I ordered: iced butterscotch latte. Features Helm Coffee Roasters coffee, house made butterscotch syrup and orange notes. Highly enjoyed all the flavor notes and the balance of sweet and smooth coffee.
The Provider was a very relaxing and chill environment where you could easily have conversations or meetings. This isn't a loud location and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The decor was very pretty with plants everywhere. I tried the apple cinnamon latte and was somewhat disappointed by the very light flavor but it was aesthetically pleasing. The menu wasn't too big but the staff was very kind
Friendly service. Fun interior with colorful bulb lighting and interesting tile and brick ambiance. The coffee tasted like coffee and the breakfast sandwich was pretty tasty, too :)
I absolutely love this coffee shop. It took me 1.5 years to finally stop by and I'm so upset I didn't come by sooner. The baristas are wonderful and have this warm essence to them. Not only are they friendly but they also make some fire coffee and their food is carefully prepared. The aesthetic reminds me of trendy/edgy meets cozy vibes; it's just overall inviting!! and I love all the natural light that comes in. They also have an outdoor patio if that's your thing! 1) Bacon breakfast sandwich - the broken up bacon bits with the sweet pepper jam? absolute slay. one of the best bagel breakfast sammies ever. the bagel is also sooo soft 2) Herby fully loaded- not a huge fan, granted it was vegetarian and you can definitely taste the herbs (the dill was a little too strong for me) 3) Iced butterscotch latte. GET IT. You need it. It is sooooo freaking good 4) Iced chocolate latte- if you truly love coffee you'll appreciate this drink. not sweet at all and the chocolate is very subtle, it allows the espresso to really shine through PROVIDER is truly an Indy gem. I will be returning for many more study sessions in the future & to try out even more things on their menu.
Industrial but warm, workspace and events too, the Good Lord provides more than perfect lattes in this downtown joint. Personal faves include an original Pistachio and Banana (bread). It's a cozy sweet hang with primo pastries and a killer breakfast sammie too - saddle up barside to chat with the friendly baristas or make a new friend, so much easier visiting the Midwest!
I ordered the Butterscotch latte and it was really good. Not overly sweet just smooth rich and balance. Last time I tried one of the specials , a PBJ Latte, that was very unique. You can tell they care about how their drinks are made and not just getting them out the door. Service was easygoing and welcoming without feeling forced. I went on a cold Sunday and it was really busy the whole time if you are planning on getting a seat. If parking lot is full you will need to find street parking. I do like that it's right on the monon trail if you want to take your coffee to go instead and walk!
First time trying this coffee shop and I loved the interior and customer service. Despite being busy, me and my guest were able to find a seat. I ordered a bagel with cheese, bacon and egg and it was really good! My coffee though, had a weird after taste, I'm not sure if it was from foam or syrup but it almost tasted expired. My friend said hers had a weird taste too. However, I would come back to this establishment! It's perfect for a meeting spot, solo date, etc.
Love to support local shops so since I was out of the country during small business Saturday I wasn't able to partake so today we spent the day running around. My daughter said maybe we can try a seasonal drink so we went. Cool place, love the plants, the young lady who helped us was nice. We ordered the peppermint mocha and gingerbread latte. Hers wasn't very peppermint flavored so very nice that the young lady added some more and said if she needs more to let her know. Mine was great. My only issue was that there wasn't really any place to sit. A couple of people were hogging the 6 seated table top working on their laptops and newspaper. Several people sprawled out as if this was the public library. The guy near me kept staring at us for having a conversation as if we were loud or a problem while he was working on his laptop. Very irritating to want to support a local business but most people act like we are at a library. They have an upstairs I asked about but was told it was for events etc like weddings or something. SUGGESTION: how about since there isn't a wedding going on set up tables up there for these people on their laptops who clearly act like a regular patron who just wants to get a coffee and converse with their friend/guest whatever is the problem. Why should the rest of the people who want a place to go catch up with someone or get a snack have to be extremely quiet or made to feel like they are the problem...these people hogging the tables to work on their laptops get to buy a $6 coffee and hang out all day leaving no space for patrons who probably would spend more. We actually wanted to get something but because there really wasn't any seating we decided not to. The seats in the doorway were empty but it's cold out. If places like Bodhi can regulate how much time a patron is allotted then these places can definitely be a little more restrictive on allowing people to just sprawl out their laptops and work as if it's a library or office space. Guarantee other people feel this but just are afraid to mention it. Definitely a first and last visit. 5 stars for the nice young lady (her energy and vibe was amazing). 2 stars for the experience not being able to enjoy the atmosphere due to all the people on their laptops or newspapers scattered on tables.
Cute coffee cafe with outdoor seating. It even has the indoor/outdoor seating- you're seated inside with the garage type door open. I ordered the maple pecan latte iced with oatmilk. The drink was good but the flavor profile was to light. I could telll that there was maple because it was sweet and not over the top but I didn't taste pecan at all.
i've always loved it here. the music and the atmosphere are great. i love their specialty menu as well. great coffee and good service. one of my favorite pistachio lattes
The overall look of the place was so so so cute! But.... The drinks were okay. We got a peanut butter latte and it was good, the chocolate latte was not the best but not the worst, we also got a bagel sandwich and that was good as well! However all that plus a two dollar sticker and tip was $36 so definitely on the bit of the pricey side. And the staff was a little rude, sort of standoffish just didn't get a welcoming vibe :(
So I had to come here because I was told this was the best coffee shop in the city ... so I went, had to check this place out and see what the hype was and see if I agreed and well.... I don't agree totally. The atmosphere and aesthetic is nice, cool vibe. I've heard talk about laptops not being allowed but unsure on how valid that is but did not see anyone on one while I was there. Love all the plants although I did notice mealy bugs all over the monstera( doesn't take away from the place at all) the drinks were mid- I tried the peanut butter latte both hot and cold and hot was soooo much better. The banana latte (can't remember the name) was tried as well and It was also very ... I don't know the word for it- it tasted more like a banana peel vs a banana... it was not enjoyable. hhhhhowever those bagel sandwiches were amazing !! Like I would go back just for those. I'm going to try this place again and see if I can catch what others have projected this place to be

Love the plants, love the menu options, and love the service. I'm so glad Coat Check has brought us another wonderful trendy coffee shop option. This honestly feels like a stop in Chicago or Nashville because of how cute and trendy it is. Only complaints? Not enough room for all the people who want to visit! It took me a long time to find seating after I circled around many times awkwardly with a drink in hand. Also, bring more snacks! There was no food for purchase both times I have been there. I heard that Coat Check brings pastry deliveries throughout the day, but I could really go for some tasty treats along with my coffee, especially if I'm planning to stay for a while. The concept is awesome, though, so maybe I'll just have to bring my own snacks. read more
I absolutely love Coat Check Coffee. But so does everyone else, and it's pretty hard to find a space in there these days. It's a good problem for a business to have, but when I learned the masterminds behind Coat Check were opening Provider in the Tinker House building, I followed right along. The space is just starting out, but you can expect similarly delicious lattes (butterscotch, pistachio, and ginger to name a few), freshly baked pastries, teas, and coffee drinks that are almost like cocktails in their creativity. On the way are some longer drinks, and I'm eagerly anticipating when they can crack open some locally distilled whiskeys and rums. The space is delightful -- long wooden counters, open to the air with plenty of windows and a large patio coming soon. Outlets run along most of the tables and there's a small stone bartop if you're going to try out some more creative drinks and want to talk about them. Provider is already an exciting addition to the King Park area, and it's only going to get better. read more
I love Provider and the pistachio latte. This time I tried it with oat milk for only a 50 cent up charge. Today was the first time I tried the breakfast sandwich biscuit. The biscuit is handmade and the sausage patty is flavored with fried sage. Devine! While the egg was thoroughly cooked, I heard the staff say the machine wasn't working correctly. That didn't matter it was so good. I'm still thinking about it hours later! read more

This is my second time at Provider coffee and I will be back many times. The service is friendly and nice, ambience on point and outside patio so relaxing. I have gotten coffee both times, but they also offer cocktails. This is a great place to stop right off of the Monan Trail, if you're out biking or walking. I highly recommend their cold nitro brew or their cold brew lemonade. So tasty. read more
I have been stopping in here for coffee refills for awhile now and never paid attention to food or other drink options. I was surprised today to hear someone order a veggie biscuit. They have Quiche, salads, and granola. They have 4 types of wine, Kombucha, cider and beer. The coffee is from Tinker Coffee company and is really really good. I like this location because of its close proximity to the Monon trail, Mass ave. and downtown. Very comfortable surroundings inside with lots of plants and morning sunshine. read more

I always like finding new coffee shops and I highly recommend checking out Provider if you are also a coffee shop enthusiast. Provider has a huge outdoor seating section. The inside area is very open and has a comfortable atmosphere. There's also many seating options to choose from. They have high top tables, couch seating with tables, and a bar. I decided to sit inside on the couch bench with a table. I asked the barista at Provider what she recommends. She said her favorite was the Ginger Latte and Pistachio Latte. I ordered the Pistachio Latte and I am so glad I did. The Pistachio Latte had a lemon aroma and had a little sweetness with a creamy texture. Very delicious! The service was approachable, personable, and helpful. The barista asked for my name and told me that my drink would take a little longer than usual because of other drink orders. I appreciated her letting me know, so I could sit down and get started on my work. I love Provider's decorations and overall atmosphere. It was cozy and filled with plants. They also serve alcoholic drinks and food. I haven't tried any of their alcoholic beverages, but next time I go in I will give one a try. Their food also looks really good especially the avocado toast. I really like how Provider is very encompassing with serving a variety of drinks and being a go-to spot to get work done or just to hang out with friends! I will definitely be back! read more

Best coffee shop in Indy. We have been exploring all things coffee in Indy and Provider is by far our favorite. The atmosphere is great and the coffee makes it even better. I always get the ginger latte with oat milk. It's amazing. read more

Always looking for inspiring places to work? The architecture here is amazing. Yet another renovated building in downtown Indy, with a remarkable vibe and beautiful view of downtown Indy. Provider has the 2nd location of the famous Ginger Latte AND croissants as Coat Check on Mass Ave. Coffee prices - while every drink here is DELICIOUS I will say I get surprised every time I come and spend $6 on a latte when competitors have just as delicious drinks for $3.50-5 after taxes. *Coat Check INCENTIVE cards accepted read more

Provider is a wonderful coffee shop with great ambiance! I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner. I came here with a friend on Saturday and we loved it so much we had to come back on Sunday. Initially we were planning on doing homework, but we were unaware that the shop is "laptop-free" on Saturday's from 9-3 and Sundays from 10:30-12:30. Despite this, we ordered and enjoyed our lattes and a chocolate croissant to share! Provider attracts a young and hip crowd, and I loved the decor in the shop. On Saturday around 11, it was a little hard to find a spot to sit but we were able to find one. On Sunday, we got there at 9:30 and it was the perfect time before it got super busy. I can't wait to go back and try everything. read more

Provider is a phenomenal coffee house. The menu is carefully curated coffee and light bites. The physical space is bright and beautiful and the staff are friendly. I have popped in on several occasions and enjoyed the butterscotch latte and the ginger tumeric latte which are both full bodIed and flavorful. They use Tinker coffee as the base. We had the frittata and breakfast sandwich which are tasty and decent portioned. The seating is limited and this place is almost always packed. In the spring and summer they have a nice patio. I would highly recommend stopping in for a cup or two. read more

The Provider cafe is a hidden secret that may remain hidden unfortunately. It doesn't come up on my searches for cafes in either Yelp or google apps. :-/ While this is definitely a new hip and trendy place, it does provide some perks but has a few areas that could be improved on. First is trying to find it and park. Located the the heart of a neighborhood revitalization, I probably wouldn't want to stay late or venture out on my own after hours just yet. Still it's in a really cool refurbished factory building. They do have a small parking lot, but it is shared with the two other tenants, so it could be street parking and walking, pending time of day you visit. Now the grub and drinks....no table service, and a bit unclear where exactly I needed to go to order, kind of a mishmash line lingering around the counter. I came half famished having missed breakfast and in a rush between meetings. I was hoping to fill on a warm cup of chai and a half basic turkey sandwich. To my surprise, no chai and minimal menu options. They did offer a delicious substitute for chai with a beautifully warm ginger latte that had a hint of citrus lime. I felt so elegant drinking this! They did have a meat sandwich and vegetarian sandwich, but unfortunately nothing I would have thought as appealing. I'll probably go back to see the changes in the menu. All in all, still a nice friendly place to hangout or meet up with friends. read more

Great vibe with friendly staff and fun beverages. Visited Provider randomly one night when a friend and I wanted to find a cafe to talk in a chill environment. Luckily and thanks to Yelp's recommendation, came across Provider which was both 1) Nearby & Open, and 2) Had high marks on Yelp. Though it was a bit hard to find given there are no major signs off 16th street, we eventually entered Provider and were welcomed to live DJ music and causal fun vibe. My friend and I, not wanting to drink, order their Thai Chai Latte. Wow! The aroma of the Kaffir lime permeated through the creamy latte, lighting up my surroundings and lifting up my spirits. I must have smelled that beautiful kaffir lime peel that came with the latte at least 20 times, such a great accompaniment. Will definitely be checking out Provider again in the near future. read more
This is the companion shop to Coat Check Coffee. It is located in Tinker House. It has such a relaxing and chill feel to it. There are a ton of different seating options including a outdoor patio. And the natural lighting that comes in is so warm and relaxing. They are still in their soft opening period so their menu isn't complete yet but it has some of the same great drinks and people from Coat Check. Seriously check it out. Just as lovely as Coat Check coffee, same great staff and coffee but added bonuses of spirits and a beautifully lit space. I love this coffee spot! Talk about Instagram worthy... every inch is beautiful. It's open and industrial. It makes you want to cozy up and hand out a while. The location is in Tinker House. The upstairs is an event space. Parking is also plentiful (and free). Their coffee list isn't too overwhelming but gives a great assortment. You can also choose oat or cashew milk if you so choose. Cool vibe and great drinks. My girlfriends and I were wanting to go somewhere after dinner and saw that Provider was open until 11 pm. We also saw that they offered coffee, lattes and cocktails which was even better! We got there around 9 pm and grabbed the last spot in the parking lot. I'd say parking is somewhat limited but it was also dark so I couldn't see the parking situation around the building. I loved the mood lighting as soon as we walked in, including the pink neon sign above the bar. I also loved the hanging plants throughout. None of us wanted a drink with alcohol so I can't speak the the options since I didn't even look at that menu. However, all of the lattes we got were absolutely delicious. I opted for a decaf butterscotch with their house made cashew milk. I was blown away. One of the best lattes I've ever had. I tried the the chocolate latte my friend got and it was like an upgraded version of chocolate milk. Since I subbed for cashew milk and left a tip, my bill was around $9. Yes, it's more than an average latte at Starbucks but it's SO much better. Worth every penny. I will absolutely be back to try more off of both their cafe and cocktail menus. Provider, the name says it all. They have such a wonderful look inside. My first experience I realized that they are part of "Coat Check Coffee" which is located in Indianapolis as well. I tried their Hibiscus Ginger Drink, it was wonderful. The ginger gave you the much needed tingle. And it was very refreshing. I would recommend this. They also have great beer on tap, and you get a great deal with a Pint and shot of tequila. Overall it as a unique expirence and I will be back! read more

This is quite frankly one of my favorite coffee places that I have found in Indy to read and work at. It's usually never busy and having a parking lot is a huge plus. So far, I've tried their chocolate latte, butterscotch latte, and pistachio latte. All of which have been fantastic! My only gripe, is that they only have a few outlets (a few awkwardly placed against the back wall and a few under the high-top tables). Overall, I would happily recommend Provider to anyone! read more

Pleasantly surprised by this coffee shop/ bar. The place had an excellent vibe that was great for working or just hanging out. Menu is small but well executed. Had a top 5 beverage at this location (pistachio latte), and I would highly recommend. Barista Ross (with 2 S's) is skilled and a total hoot! Actually, the whole staff was pretty baller, and they were constantly active. Kudos for outstanding customer service. read more
By far one of my favorite coffee shops -- well post-Thirsty Scholar. I have been here a couple times, but now that it is fall weather I will be a visiting this place more often. I enjoy their atmosphere and delicious lattes. I always get the matcha green tea latte. I have been here in a couple times to so some work. They offer free wifi and charging stations that makes it ideal for a study place. It is moderate loud, but still a place where you can get work done. They decor is a nice and simple modern environment. On Wednesday, I actually was here for a Sofar event in their upstairs venue that is popular for weddings and large events. Sofar had their Halloween theme event. I had fun watching Stoney the Poet, Black Market Vinyl, and Bernie and the Wolf. Each of these artists brought a unique sound to the event from poetry + hip pop to straight up rock. I loved Black Market Vinyl the most due to their kick ass rock sounds and funny Halloween songs. I enjoyed Bernie and the Wolf's Deftones song cover "Change (In the House of Flies), it was great!!! Highly recommend Sofar events to learn and appreciate in an intimate setting indie/local artist. I recommend Provider they are part of Tinker Street Co. And have delicious drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) read more

Have you ever walked in a place and immediately started planning your next visit? That's exactly what happened when I finally made my way to PROVIDER. I didn't have a ton of time, but I was determined to grab a latte and one of those famous Coat Check croissants. I was immediately greeted by Ross, who I learned remembers everyone's name. He recommended the ginger latte, which has turmeric and galangal. Not only was it delicious, it was also beautiful. I will definitely be back for a snack and maybe an adult beverage. read more
Really love the atmosphere of this place. It has such a cool vibe that's hard to capture. There is tons of seating and a decent amount of outlets if you're looking to get work done. They have both coffee and cocktails and are open past most local coffee shops which I love! Definitely a new favorite. Got a glass of the rosé (a little expensive for the size of the pour, at $10 a glass) and it was delish. Truly a beautiful space and one of my new favorite spots! read more

I am a huge fan of the sea salt latte with chocolate croissant at Provider and the chill atmosphere they have provided. Even at 9:30 on a Thursday it can be hard to find a place to sit because this place is so great! They have two menus: there's a coffee and day menu that most people use to supplement their reading/writing/solo time as well as an alcohol and evening menu that can get your night started the right way. Thank goodness a close friend introduced me to Provider! read more

Is Provider kid-friendly or only 21+?
It is kid friendly during morning hours for sure. Not sure about evenings.
Are there any laptop rules for Friday nights(5pm-close)?
No restrictions on Fridays. Laptop restrictions on Saturdays between 9am - 3pm and Sundays between 10:30am - 12:30pm.
Is there other more comfortable seating, such as couches, padded chairs? We usually stay at a place for a while and need something softer. Didn't see anything in the photos.
They have padded bench seating along the tables at the wall n a few leather chairs. The rest of the seating is either stools or straight back chairs.
