I just don't know how this business manages to stay open. Not sure if the owner knows how to run this place. We arrived here for a late lunch and were greeted by an extremely rude old lady. From the moment we sat down, she acted like she was doing us a favor. The menu was not very big. Everything seemed very expensive. We ordered chips with salsa and guacamole and the cost was $21!! That's just a start. Yes it was tasty but not worth this much money. We ordered some tacos and each taco was $5. After we received our bill, there was an extra charge for service which was non-existent. Service charge is ok for parties of 6 or more. It was just 2 of us. I say skip this place. There are way better Mexican restaurants in town with owners who actually want you there. read more

I haven't stopped thinking about Provecho's beans. Hands-down the best pinto and black beans in town. Not only that, their Horchata is out of this world! Thanks for the burrito box and delicious take home spicy margaritas. Come support this local family ASAP! read more

Provecho - Ask for their black pinto bean combo side! - Mexican Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

I have been trying to get to this place for years, but between always hitting them when they're not open, and me forgetting about them...(they're closed sundays and not open for lunch, also if you don't know they're there, they are easily overlooked as they are literally a hole-in-the-wall from the outside) it look me years right finally make it and wow!!! In the past 3 weeks it's been since I finally made it, I have been 5 times and now I plan my days around their ability to be open! I totally get the short hours as the cooking and prep it must take to make everything from scratch and keep everything so fresh and delicious would be more than a full time job for this small business. This is hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had in Vancouver, authentic and creative! I love to support small businesses and this is one of Vancouver's brightest jewels! read more

I wish there was an option to give lower than one star. Food is good, however, but their ability to nickel and dime you is bar none. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that charges for chips and salsa... Bowl of Salsa $3.50 Chips and guacamole $17.00 - yes that is the actual amount to be charged. $20.50 for chips, salsa, and quac. Understandably, guacamole is charged at any Mexican restaurant ever. Margarita Factory charges $14.00 for tableside quac made how you like it w/ all the chips and salsa your heart desires. That's $6.50 more and could be higher if you ask for additional chips and salsa. Not to mention, they claim the salsas are made in house daily, cooked from scratch. I've never seen fresh salsa with a peeled, canned tomato before... I would assume fresh handmade means fresh tomatoes... The BIGGEST gripe is the "procurement fee." It's a credit card surcharge. I'm afraid this restaurant doesn't understand the meaning of procurement fee, and when asked about it, the lady was indignant. Be smart and hide that "procurement fee" in your already outrageous priced salsa and chips. Do better, Provecho or change your name to Caro so everyone knows they will pay dearly for meh items. Will not ever be back and will let everyone I know to not go... the Wahi Hana Tiki Bar is in the same parking lot, save yourself some heartache and go there instead. read more

I continue to return to this place because the food is good down. they change their specials often. I will continue returning to this place. Recommend: Chips, Salsa, & Guacamole - something about those chips that make it so yummy. Of course there's more to order but those are so good! read more

Not impressed in the least. I have been going to this Mexican restaurant for years basically for the margaritas, the food is marginally poor at best. The female owner lacks all basic principles of customer service and politeness. Over the years I have been on the receiving end and have witnessed her general disdain for her customer base. Most of employees need to go to charm school because obviously the rudeness has worn off on them. fyi: real Mexican restaurants don't charge for chips and salsa So if you are thinking about going to this place keep driving down the street and go to Woody's tacos. So after reading tons of reviews and if the owner is horrible and rude why oh why do people keep goin??? Eeeekkkkkssss I've been reading a lot of these reviews things haven't changed much. Checked this place out again still awful service and mediocre food. How is this place still in business I guess complacency ????? read more

The chips and salsa and guacamole were good, but burritos and tostada were not. Very bland and the lettuce smelled like mildew, I didn't add it to the mix, just scraped it aside. We are both regretting this meal the next morning. Make sure to keep an eye on the bill. We were over charged and had no itemized bill to ask about. We added everything up and figured we would leave a tip and not be coming back. read more

The food here is great . 2 two gals serving is spot on and get it done. Skinny Cadillac margarita is really good. There are reviews posted here that are accurate with a previous waiter but she is not serving anymore. Plus we are human. Give them a try. They are not open late. read more

The service is ridiculous. First of all let me just say that their "menu" states that "if you are in a hurry this isn't the place for you" how RUDE. Also- they have a service charge fee for using your debit card which is stated NO WHERE on their menu or on the receipt which shows no itemized of food or drinks.. will absolutely not be coming back. Every-time I have come here it's always rude service.. it's really funny when you start to talk to people around the neighborhood they all say the same thing about this place and their staff. read more

Starting off with what Provecho is known for, hand made margaritas. They are good but nothing that differentiates them for any other bar. Their food on the other hand is definitely noteworthy, large portions and full of flavor. Where things could improve is customer service and wait time for any request, including paying your bill. read more

Called to make reservation for 6 people and they stated first come first serve. Got there to put our name on the list for a table and they stated 45 min. We all sat down to wait 45 min came and gone and no sitting yet. they ignored us and wanted us to leave. Tables opened and they sat other people. We left and will never go back there. This was Mar 5, 2022 at 6 pm. Very Very Rude read more

This place came highly recommended and we stopped in for lunch. First of all they charge $6.50 for chips and salsa. It was no better than the chips and salsa you get everywhere else for free. I noticed they offered chips, salsa and guacamole for $17. Are you kidding me? Yes $17. I had the veggie quesadilla and it was just ok. Nothing special. Nothing great. Not worth $10. My boyfriend had beef tacos. He said they were OK but didn't have much beef. Margarita was tasty but there was so much ice in the glass there was little room for the margarita itself. As Mexican food fans we were very disappointed and pretty amazed at how much money we paid for a lunch we could have had much better somewhere else and for a lot less money. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times now and EVERY time have been placed at the same small table for two next to the bathroom. Not sure if it is their only two top or just my bad luck. The food is good, usually comes out pretty quick, and it seems to be a popular place, as they are almost always busy. I know they are still closing fairly early, like 8 or 9 even on weekends, so there is small window of when one can dine there. My only criticism is that the servers always seem rushed. Pretty much as soon as I say what I want for an entrée, they are walking away. They have lost a few sales on accompanying items (chips and salsa, margaritas, etc.) due to this. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if it was an option. The server we had was rude and extremely slow and the food was less than good. I would only recomend eating here to people that I don't like. read more

It's not easy to find, but I found that to part of the uniqueness. We sat outside ( just a couple tables out there). Friendly service. We just had chips & guac and Cadillac margaritas. Delish. Will def go back! read more

I recently went to Provecho to meet up with friends. Their guac is THE best! The food is all reliably great. The service was solid. I recommend this place if you are looking for casual ambiance, good service, delicious food, and fantastic cocktails. They hit a rough spot with customer service about a year ago, but that has been dealt with and it's once again the outstanding, too little known treasure in downtown Vancouver. I've been going there for years and am so glad it's back to the great place l came to expect when l lived 5 minutes away and went once a week. If you are anywhere near it, Provecho is delicious! read more

I like their food, but they have rude service. Tried to go with a party of 11. Wouldn't seat us because they didn't have a table that large, which is fine. That makes sense. I asked for two tables next to each other, they said no. Wouldn't explain why, just refused to seat us even though they had the means to. I was accused of trying to deceive them over the phone, when I never called them before. Never been to a restaurant who refused business while being rude and argumentative, especially a large amount of business. If you are going out with a party of 4 or under you're probably fine, but anymore and they don't want your business, most of their tables are 4-top and they are unwilling to work with you. read more

Omg it is so freaking good I 100% recoment the burritos. this really is the GOAT of Mexican food

To start- the food is amazing. It always has been; I've been eating here for years. So why the three star rating? The service. It just isn't good and it really never has been. I've accepted that for years. Tonight, I was getting my haircut next door and had my 11 year old daughter with me. It was getting close to closing time (7pm- strange) and she went to check to see if we could still be seated. They said yes, but the bar part might close. No problem. We all walked in 10 minutes later at 7:03 and were told we could order food to go, but we couldn't eat there. There were plenty of other patrons. Like other reviewers have said, they actually as though you're lucky to be there. It's good, really good- but no place is that good. read more

Awesome nachos!!! The tostada was disappointing, loads of sub-par shredded lettuce and a single, tiny hard shell tortilla. We also ordered the chocolate hazelnut cake, which was scrumptious!!!! Provecho is so good! They boast "healthy" Mexican food and I really think they do it well. I never feel like I've eaten a pound of grease when I finish the food. I usually get the tostada. My main beef with the tostada is that it is like 99.9% shredded lettuce and .1% actual meat and toppings. The meat that is on there is very flavorful. It's a bit pricy considering this is the case. Initially, the (maybe $5-$7) for chips and salsa seems like a lot for a little joint like this...but wow, it's worth it. They fry their chips in peanut oil, and they're hand made. THEY'RE SO GOOD! We make a point to get them to go every time we finish our meal. Otherwise, the drinks are good and the service is friendly. Since I live two blocks away, I frequent this place pretty often. Definitely worth your visit! read more

So, I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I'll start with the positive, the food is great! I would order anything on their menu. While I think some items are a bit overpriced, I take in consideration the fresh ingredients and time. The negative, the staff that come in contact with guests have abrasive elitist attitudes. I'm an easy going, patient person. However, if you're easily annoyed probably not the best place to go. I recommend this place for the delicious food, but be warned of the arrogant service. read more

NOTICE: This place is not a "taco" place, stick with the other hits. Come here to enjoy great, well made drinks, burritos and nachos. I periodically find myself daydreaming about the Carne Asada Burrito out of nowhere. My girlfriend has a infatuation with their nachos about as deep as I do with their Asada Burrito. I'm not sure how much I can say about this place, other than I have tried to explain it to friends, and they have told me I was right about how good it is as soon as they took their first bite. read more

Try this place . Loved it all. Best nachos ever, little spendy but worth it. It's all good. Try the carne Asada burrito with black beans

So fresh and SO good! This tiny joint is easy to miss, but DON'T miss it or you'll be missing out on the best Mexican food in Vancouver. Margaritas, tequila shots and plenty of beer and wine options make this a great place for happy hour or dinner, but it's also a quick lunch stop. read more

Jeez I cannot believe how many bad reviews this place has - ignore them and go in to eat & enjoy your meal that is made with quality/ fresh ingredients that tastes fresh and wonderful as well. I see a lot of people bitching about the service - they usually only have one to two servers working and things take a bit longer ... order a drink and enjoy the ambiance of this place or the company of the person you bring with you, or as everyone else does attach your eyes to your phone. I come here with my family often, I understand the prices are higher, but if you really want cheap food there are several drive thru's you can go to instead. I always enjoy my food there, I come with as a normal happy customer who knows my food may take a bit longer & I may spend a little more money, but I always leave happy. I wish they were open later and on Sunday's! read more

Small and charming restaurant. The margaritas were freshly made and very refreshing. The chips were thick and tasty, along with flavorful salsa! I ordered the asada burrito, it was huge and delicious. Definitely will come back! Sweet waitress as well :) read more

Stumbled on this place because of a photo of the nachos on Instagram. They looked so delicious I was obsessed with getting across the bridge to try them. Quaint, clean restaurant with great customer service! The cheese quesadilla was delicious with cilantro and onions giving it layers of flavor. But the nachos stole the show for me. Hands down the best I've had; why? Because they don't just dump the chips on the plate then pile the toppings on so that you're left with a plate of loose, naked chips once the toppings are gone. No, they lovingly layer those ingredients so EVERY bite bursts with flavor. Portland has some good Mexican restaurants but Provecho is definitely worth a trek across the river. read more

Provecho - Cheese Quesadilla & Nachos (half order!) - Mexican Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

While the food is good, the prices are outrageous for what it is. They charge you $6.50 for just chips and salsa and $17 for chips, salsa, and guacamole! The service is fine. The decor is nice. Their margaritas are very fresh tasting and not the sour mix taste (bonus). But for what you get at this place I wouldn't pay the listed price. Great place but the prices just don't make sense for a little hole in the wall Mexican joint. read more

Provecho - Prices of chips, salsa, and Guac - Mexican Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

I originally heard about this restaurant by word of mouth. Since then, it became my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Portland-metro area. Wait, scratch that. My favorite Mexican restaurant in the entire country. I've since moved to the southeast and haven't been able to find any restaurant that can compare to the nachos at Provecho. Yes, their menu is limited. Yes, you have to pay for the amazing chips and guacamole. Does that phase me? Not one bit! I'm honestly not sure what other people are talking about in terms of the bad customer service. I was a repeat customer here, sometimes even showing up in a huge group of rowdy teenagers (even before the expansion when it was extremely limited seating) and never felt disrespected in any way, shape, or form. But let me get back to their nachos. My mouth is watering just thinking about them and makes me want to fly back here to stop by. The meat is amazing; the pico de gallo is savory; the beans, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese are all scrumptious. The half order is enough to feed a small village and the full order is enough to eat for dinner for a whole week. If you're eating by yourself and don't order chips, you can definitely get out of here in under $10 if you're trying to save your money. I seriously can't express how much I love and miss this restaurant. read more

Love this place!! Best chips, salsa, and guacamole!! It's not cheap but the quality is excellent and delicious. All their food is fresh and tasty. Always ask for their specials, because often their Mahi Mahi Tacos are on it and they're so good. Love the casual and cozy atmosphere too. Highly recommend. PS Ignore the poor reviews that complain about the price of the chips and salsa and/or guacamole. This isn't just average items that an ordinary Mexican restaurant brings out for free! Salsa bottle was only 1/4 full with dried salsa at the top of bottle. I asked our waitress for a different bottle..she got irrated and snapped back...thats all there is...do you want me to take it...I said no I want red salsa.. so another waitress entered the bar and I asked for water then asked her if I could get a new salsa..she said it's all there is..this bottle was clearly almost empty and unappetizing with dried salsa at the top of the bottle..I saw them taking other salsa bottles to other customers...but refused us a fresh clean salsa bottle so I told the waitress to take it... I told her I would report the issue to management.....I told server to just keep it...when I'm paying a restaurant I'm expecting a pleasant clean dining experience where customer service matters..I definitely did not receive good service as I could see the waitress was irritated...I will never eat here again...0 starship read more

Fresh vegetables and complex flavors. I always order today's soup special and taco. Good food and good place!

Provecho is different than most local Mexican places: It's not like the fast food Mexican places (e.g. Muchas Gracias), though the menus are similar, and the menu is generally different than the family Mexican places (e.g. El Tapatio), though the overall appearance may be similar. The menu options are pretty basic: tacos, tostadas, burritos, and quesadillas (with a few other things like chips and salsa, which you pay $5.50 for). You can add very tasty carne asada or chicken or their are meatless options. Menu items run about $7.00 which is more than Muchas Gracias or Don Pedro, but the food is better (and authentic) and the restaurant itself is far nicer. The salsas are very good, and the spicy red one uses a roasted chile that gives a great flavor. You can choose between whole black or pinto beans on burritos. The restaurant is painted in bright colors like you would find in Mexico, and there are lots of crafts for decorations. The bar area is actually larger than the main seating area, and there are a few small tables outside. The building it is in is nothing special, but the inside is far nicer. read more

Finally I don't have to travel to Portland for great Mexican food!! I've made this place part of my weekly lunch routine. You CANNOT beat the excellent service and flavorful salsa. The staff is so friendly and now that I frequent the place, they know my order and have salsa and iced tea ready for me when they see me coming. Their food is made from scratch and it is delicious - based on more than a dozen visits. In particular I enjoy their chips, salsa and guac as well as their Carne Asada Quesadilla. To be candid, I am reluctant to give them a great review because then it will only be more difficult to get a table : ) read more

this is a small restaurant, with a small bar. the menu is pretty small, tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, and a few other items. don't let the small menu fool you. the food that you get will be very good, and very fresh tasting. we had a party of 5, and opted to sit at the bar. they do not have beer on tap. the beer is bottled but a fair price. the drinks are very good, and use fresh ingredients, and they use a heavy hand when pouring!. all in all its a good place for lunch and dinner. although there's not much of a night scene here since the bar is small. but a great pre bar hopping place for dinner. they also offer breakfast burritos on Saturdays. read more
