AWESOME pizza!! The thin crust is amazing, and the sauce was to die for. This is is my go to pizza place in Lafayette. The staff was super friendly and helpful. And my pizza was done quickly, AND perfect Thanks Protos!!! read more

This is one of family's favorite places to have a quick dinner. My daughter loves watching the guys make the pizza behind the glass. I like that their Cesar Salad has REAL white anchovies! We can come here after picking her up from school, have a nice meal for less than $20 and get on with our evening, which is perfect for this working mom! read more

I had to pick up my son at the in door soccer next Proto's Pizza in Lafayette, CO. So, I popped into Proto's pizza for lunch. The waitress suggested the Low Rider pizza because it was her favorite. I love a spicy Hawaiian pizza with Canadian bacon, pineapple and jalapeños. The Low Rider has chipotle red sauce with bacon, pineapple and cilantro...WOW. This the best pizza ever! I had a Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout to finish it off and I am in heaven! If your looking a meal goto Proto's Pizza and get the Low Rider pizza! read more

Proto's Pizza - Low rider! - Pizza Near Me - Lafayette, Colorado

Came back after several years and the pizza was terrible. It's as if ingredient quality went down man notches. Also was really expensive! $50 for a beer, large pizza, small personal pizza, and two kid drinks. Forget this place. read more

Best salad and pizza ! I went regularly while assigned to a job in Boulder, CO, during September and October 2015 and loved sitting outdoors and enjoying the food. I also really liked the Italian soda. Will visit again when i return to Colorado! read more

1st timer at Proto's last Saturday afternoon. I have worked in 5 different small pizza places in my life as a cook and manager. All in New England. I mention this because no matter where I worked, I was never allowed to sell a pizza that I allowed to bubble and burn in the oven. I ordered a large Hawaiian. Was told it would be ready for pick up in 25 min. I went there and picked it up. It was very busy. I brought the pizza home, opened the box and (I should have taken a picture). The pizza was RUINED. The cook let huge bubbles form then pop. Only 20% of the pie had any toppings left. The crust was burnt too. This is totally unacceptable for any pizza place. My pizza cost me $18.00. That's a lot for a very thin crust pizza with only 2 toppings. To have it in that shape though? No way. $18 rip off. You can not allow your pizza cooks, no matter how little you pay them, to let them serve a pizza in that condition. How could I recommend this place? I can't. It's an expensive gamble. read more

My family really likes Proto's. Their crust is great, toppings are fresh and they have good beer. The staff has always been nice and on the spot. To us, it is one of the better pizza restaurants around Erie and Lafayette. read more

Love this place. Jeff does a great job managing it. So friendly. Including the guys and gals in the kitchen. Pizza is the best. Service is super friendly. read more

One of our favorite date nights- Protos on Lafayette his everything just right. Not too fancy, but you feel special eating here. Not the cheapest pizza, but more value conscious than a high-brow restaurant. Good wine. Good service, Excellent thin-crust pizzas. Great salads. Proto's strikes a very good balance between all of our favorite restaurants. This is not where I'd go to celebrate winning the lottery, but I have spent many date nights in Proto's embrace. read more

This review is solely based on their customer service-- I LOVE the proto's in Denver -- eating it 2+ times a week. Unfortunately, I don't have the number programmed into my phone. I quickly typed in Proto's Denver on my phone and up popped the number. After being greeted with "Proto's, please hold", I waited several minutes before the phone was picked up with "this is Chris, what can I get you?". I placed my order, and 2 minutes later realized that the number I dialed didn't seem right. I discovered I called the Lafayette location, and quickly called back. I informed the person on the phone, Chris, of the mistake I made. Chris, in return, have me a very snotty response explaining that is why they answer the phone with "Proto's Lafayette". Sorry, Chris - you didn't clarify the location whatsoever, and I was in a car full of people who could vouch for that. One star for a crappy attitude. read more

There are so many positives about this place: the pizza is delicious and authentically Italian, the service is attentive and friendly, and you can't go wrong with sitting in the cutely decorated inside or outside on the relaxed patio. We started with a tomato & mozzarella salad then shared The Goombah and Traffic Jam pizzas, all of which were full of flavor and made with super fresh ingredients. Worth paying the extra money for the quality and experience. Can't wait to go back to try the dessert. I hear the tiramisu is house made, so I'm going straight for that! read more

Proto's is really, really good. But it is also really, really thin pizza. So when I go there, I am almost always hungry an hour after I get home. And it ain't cheap. $20 a person should keep me fuull for than an hour, right? read more

Nice place for an easy and tasty cocktail, comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food.

Very disappointing. Been to Italy several times... sorry, this is not "Napoletana!" Ordered the clam pizza expecting something like the New Haven classic - no dice! Undercooked and flavorless. Maybe we just hit the place on the wrong day. But just spent $45+ on I don't know what??? read more

Their pizza is really good. I had the low Ryder and it was delicious. I also had their tomatoe salad and wow, their balsamic is to die for, you must try the salad. Their service was average.... Their price is definitely on the high end (for pizza and salad). With that being said, not sure if I can return there often... For good thin crust pizza, I do recommend trying Proto's! read more

After going to Proto's a few times when they first opened in Longmont and then Boulder, glad to have a lesbian-owned place in town, I stopped because the crust were pathetically thin and the toppings as bad -- super scarce. Sorry this isn't a recent review, but it sounds like they're the same now as then. It's interesting that the bar is happenin' (according to a reviewer below), maybe I'll try it. No thanks to the food though. read more

Proto's Lafayette - terrible for carryout. The white pizza especially.... it's the dryest blandest pizza i've ever had. Eating in is likely a much better option. The need to pump up the ingredients. Very sparce on the pizza. SO disappointing...we were so hungry for good pizza! read more

Great pizza with some more adventurous topping combinations. The chef was putting on a show with the dough and my daughter and the other kids loved it. Good drink selection too. Prices are excessive for pizza.. read more

Was not a fan. Got their white pizza, and man I got the worst heart burn. Place was dirty and just not even close to being up to par with other shops around town. Total let down. read more

Yum. Good pizza at reasonable cost. Proto's actually isn't much different at its Longmont or Boulder locations, but this one may be a bit less crowded sometimes. read more

Great pizzas with a very thin crust. Unique salads and the chocolate tartuffo is very yummy. Clam pizza sounds strange but is our favorite.

Finally made it to a Proto's to try their take on a pizza napoletana. Had the Atomica and a fresh mozzarella napoletana. What a pizza making machine this young kitchen crew is. The pizza here is good. The crust is very thin with no chew to it ("cracker" crust) and good flavor. Nice sauce on the Atomica and a nice balance of cheese to crust. I love pizza. I'll eat any pizza be it thick, thin, chewy, crunchy, and even on bread or bagel but I have a pretty good idea what a great pizza should be. Proto's makes a good pizza. I'm still searching for the elusive "great" pizza. read more

Great pizza with interesting topping combinations and a great selection of beers. Traffic jam is one of my favorites and although I haven't tries it clam pizza on Fridays read more

Fantastic. The hula pizza was so good. The crust is really thin - just like I like it. My sister has the Ruby - which looks suspicious to me, but she loved it!!! read more

This is a great little neighborhood find! If you like thin crust pizza this is the place. I love pizza but hate thick crusts and lots of bread, which is why this place is perfect. Great variety of pizzas and salads. I had the Tuscan Salad with feta which was amazing and a pizza. The flavors were incredible. They also serve half glasses of wine! Glad we tried this place. One of my new favorites. read more

This a great location, with a great menu! We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delicious! Our server was really knowledgable and attentive. Definitely a gem! read more

Its a toss up whether the service or the crust is the most amazing part of Proto's, but it could be the unique combos on their specialty pizzas. Those are my three favorite things about Proto's. I've eaten there maybe 20 times and had one complaint - one night they were out of my favorite beer. That's a pretty solid record. Their product is consistently awesome! The servers create one of those atmospheres that makes you feel at home on the first trip! Love me some Proto's! read more

Normally very good, but somewhat below expectations this time. The large garden salad had only 2 slices of tomato on it (other than the lettuce), and the Proto pie was very light on the fresh basil. Service was excellent! read more

Delish! Enjoyed lunch here one afternoon. Pizza was amazing, our waiter even brought us some extra spices to try on top! Pizza is a thinner crust style with a focus more on the toppings. We'll definitely be back. read more

Love Protos in Lafayette. All of the Protos have great pizza, salads and desserts but Lafayette is one of their best locations. John the manager is fantastic and he runs a great restaurant. Highly recommend the tomato and mozzarella salad followed up by a Low Rider pizza-delicious! read more

Best pizza around! Really great service. Affordable pricing. I love the patio it's a great place to relax.

Love their fresh, thin crust pizza. Friendly, fun staff. Best bar in town.

What a great and friendly place! I wandered in last night completely famished and tired. This place just happened to be the first place that caught my eye when I originally pulled into a plaza with a McDonald's. Walking in, they had smooth swing-era music going (think Sinatra) and soft lights. A real warm interior in terms of color and ambiance. Immediately, I was approached by Isabella, my waitress and seated with a glass of water. We shared a few laughs while she took my order and gave me some recommendations from their menu. I had a $6 small traditional pizza and added some extra toppings of my choice ($1.25 for each ingredient on a small pizza, $1.75 on a medium, and ~$2 on a large). My only gripe was that the small pizza was pretty small but it was pretty delicious so I'm willing to overlook the price:quantity ratio. The manager also swung by to chat with me. I ended up with a bowl of dark chocolate gelato on the house thanks to the manager's friendliness. Overall, I had a great time and really enjoyed the food. If you're in the area, looking for a cute little pizza shop staffed by great people, swing on by here! You won't be disappointed. read more

We live in Erie and just tried Proto's for the first time; man have we been missing out! This place is a true hidden gem - tucked into an unassuming strip mall, it is easy to miss. But once we arrived the place was pretty full around 6 on a Friday night. It is cozy with a full bar and a terrific Neapolitan pizza menu. (We recently traveled to Italy where we tried to real thing, and I assure you, Proto's gets it right.) We had the Lowrider pie - delicious and unique combo of sweet and spicy BBQ, bacon, pineapple and cilantro. Crust is thin, crispy and chewy. I also love that they have a full bar. We went with Peronis. The restaurant appears to be family-owned and is very kid friendly, without being an obnoxious chain pizza place. We'll definitely be back! read more

We had a great time eating at the bar. Service was great and had a great pie. Traffic jam

We love this place! Delicious pizza, salad and desserts; excellent service; and nice ambiance. It is a little pricey, but well worth it. We have visited the locations in Denver, Broomfield, Boulder, and Lafayette. We like the Lafayette and Boulder locations the best! read more

Delicious, with lots of good variety. It is a bit more expensive than other places, but the quality is significantly better than the norm. They're very accommodating, I used to pick up several large pizzas for staff meetings and they were always done on time and the order was correct. It gets a bit hectic around dinner time but I've never had to wait too long. Yum! read more

Have driven by this restaurant for years, decided to try due to lack of establishments in the area. Fabulous pizza! I had the Caesar salad and small Ruby pie, my mate had the traffic jam pie. Both were outstanding, best crust and best sauce I've ever had. For dessert the Tiramisu is also excellent. Nice atmosphere although tight between tables. This is now my go to restaurant for pizza, I highly recommend giving it a try. read more

The food is consistent and AMAZING!!!!!!! We enjoy it so much. Thank you for your excellent drinks, service, and atmosphere

Used to love this place on a Friday night for clam pizza but now there are hardly any clams and pizza is dry and not worth the money! Very disappointing. Also crust does not taste artisan at all! Tried it several times now, wont be back. read more
