But this place needs to be realistic about its pricing if they want to survive much longer in this economy. If you want to charge $3 per topping, then give people what they paid for. Disappointing Experience at 24 Carat in Erie!!!…read more My daughter and I stopped into 24 Carat in Erie toward the end of the night, hoping to enjoy a nice dinner and a few shareable dishes. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of what we expected. We started with the kale Parmesan dip, which we were told was a hot skillet and that we should be careful. Unfortunately, it arrived lukewarm. We also ordered several shareable items, including the seared shrimp and prosciutto and Palisade peach dishes. The shrimp was lukewarm unseasoned and burnt, and the pasta accompanying it was cold and lacked much flavor. We also ordered the Pozole duck after discussing the soup of the day with our server. That dish never came. When we asked about it, our server said she didn't hear us order it. Mistakes happen, and we understand that, but combined with the other issues, it added to an already disappointing experience. The biggest issue was the overall feeling throughout the meal. It was very apparent that the staff was ready for the night to be over. I really wanted to like 24 Carat, especially being a local restaurant in Erie, but unfortunately the food temperature, missed order, and overall service made this a disappointing visit. Hopefully this was just an off night, because there is clearly potential for this to be a great local spot. $100 disappointment!!!!
