It was probably a bit too excessive, but I thought it was a better deal than the fried chicken entree ($26 pp). We were able to take home leftovers to enjoy it for another meal. The chicken was crispy and moist overall. There was coffee bbq sauce that you could slather onto the meat. The meal also came with sides. I'm a fan of the cheesy Mac and cheese. The jalapeño coleslaw was tangy. The cornbread was moist and sweet and came with honey on the side. I'm glad I checked this off my (bucket) list! It's a good idea to make reservations. It was quite busy. The food took a while to come out, over 30 minutes. Be aware that there is a 3% surcharge, which is also taxed.

We ordered other items and drinks as well when we arrived. Tom refused to serve our pre-ordered chicken to us at the table. Not sure how else we would have gotten chicken with our dinner reservation on Monday. We asked him to bring us some spoons please and I would serve my friends. He never did , I had to get up and go to the server and ask. Why was it so difficult to put our chicken on the table. We told them that prior. He was rude, loud and made a scene. look on your cameras around 7:20 on September 28. We were sitting on the patio. He was not nice.

It was a nice surprise to see a hand written "Congratulations and Happy Anniversary" card. A complimentary treat of Focaccia bread with avocado and kimchi was given as well as a glass of champagne for the both of us. Our waiter was helpful, offering his opinion on what wine to take. We went for whatever he suggested for white (for her) and red (for me). Both were good picks. Our dinner started with toasted focaccia bread. She ordered a Caesar salad also. The appetizer was 3 large slices of bread with stracciatella and pear compote. The bread was light and buttery. The stracciatella was good blending well with the bread. The Caesar salad was a big serving. Tasty and simple, nothing special. Our main entree was filet mignon for my wife and wagyu rib eye for me, both medium rare. The filet was topped with garlic confit and I added chimichurri to my ribeye. The plating was simple, the protein with the side and roasted garlic. We also added smashed potatoes to share. Our first bite was the meat itself with no dressing. I can taste why the steak was priced that way. It just melted in my mouth and left a nice smooth aftertaste. We exchanged bites, she felt the same way and I agreed that her filet was perfect. After adding the roasted garlic and chimichurri, the slices were heavenly. The surprise for me was the smashed potatoes. First time trying this dish and I was impressed. The crispness of the skin was a nice surprise. The butter and garlic added another layer of flavor. We topped our dinner with a toffee bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and caramel. I'm not a dessert person but this, this was good! Overall it was a great dinner. The food was excellent. The staff was amazing. Of course, my date was beautiful. Thank you Butcher and Barrel for an awesome dinner experience!

Food did take awhile to get to us and unfortunately not as tasty as we were hoping for. We got the spinach artichoke dip (7/10), maple bourbon pork belly (6/10), 14 oz ribeye (6/10), and Wagyu Tomahawk (7/10). The ribeye was okay, really salty. The tomahawk show was really cool, I highly recommend getting it to see it in fire. Other than that, it's fancy inside, nice for a dinner date or grabbing a drink.

The atmosphere created by the music and decorations was so warm and comfortable to make you feel as though you were celebrating some special occasion. The service of this place was simply great and very friendly. I got the blackened salmon along with the Caesar salad as my meal. The fishy taste in the salad could have been attributed to the anchovies. Nevertheless, the salad was fresh and tasty. My salmon was served on a bed of pinto beans along with the asparagus as the side dish. It was very tasty and delicious. Everything in this restaurant was very clean including the dining hall and the bathroom. The menu of this restaurant is relatively expensive. This might not make me go here very often. However, I would love to dine in this restaurant when I wish to reward myself.

She likes a little spice so she had jalapeños added, which turned out to be a great complement to the drink. For lunch we had the prime rib hash and the shakshuka. My wife really enjoys shakshuka, but finds it relatively hard to find. She said the dish was "awesome". This was my first "hash". Though I enjoyed it, my one critique was too many pieces of fat. I appreciate cooking any steak with the fat as It definitely adds flavor, but no one wants to bite into pieces of just fat. My recommendation...cook it with the fat, but trim the fat before you dice it to add to the hash. Service was exceptional. We were greeted by Phillip, who was very personable, and he brought us water and drinks. Our server was Felicia. She was very friendly, upbeat, cheery, and made us feel very welcome. The bartender brought out the second cocktail and he was very friendly. He makes a superb cocktail. The staff did a wonderful job! We plan to return to try some of their other dishes.

The food was tasty, but I was a bit disappointed with the portion size considering the price ($26). Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance/vibe, the service was quick, and parking was relatively easy considering the location. The meatball was HUGE, and the app comes w two. Def a good sharing option for 4 people if actually eating it as an app. The octopus was also delicious. Perfectly crispy and comes w the best potatoes. The only thing was the chimichurri type sauce was pretty spicy (not mild). So definitely beware. I also tried a bite of my husband's bolognese and it was light and refreshing. The flavor of the vegetables come through nicely along with the meat sauce. It feels ironic to say, but if you want something lighter, that's a good option. Would recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant space is small and definitely filled up on a Sunday evening.

There's something really lovely about being comfortable enough to eat alone, explore your own city alone, and remember that being by yourself doesn't mean you're lonely. And the food certainly didn't hurt. The Point Reyes blue cheese on the heirloom tomato & cucumber salad was salty, pungent perfection. The California cheese board with Mt. Tam was so good, the house potato chips were honestly epic, and the scallop crudo had the perfect little kick from the pickled peppers with so many good textures. My server Audrey was absolutely lovely, too -- and surprised me with a carrot cake cookie to end the night, which was such a sweet little gesture. Good food. A Sacramento evening. No agenda. Just a little time with myself. Take yourself on the date. Order the cheese board. Sit at the table alone. Enjoy your own company. Whether you're single or happily partnered, you're pretty good company, after all.
