What an awesome experience it was having Protech Roofing reroof our house. Unlike many other roofing contractors I had contacted, I received an estimate within a few days after speaking with Jared. The estimate included everything we had discussed including the particular roofing material, premium underlayment, drip edge and decking, for a very competitive price. All my questions were quickly answered by Jared who also provided me with samples of the various aluminum shingles I was interested in. I also had the opportunity to stop by the office on Sand Island. Their location was clean and well organized and Gina in the office was so pleasant to chat with. As soon as I received approval from my HOA Jared was able to schedule me in later that same week to my surprise. The crew arrived on time and was very friendly and diligent in tearing off the old tile roof and putting up the new one. They answered all my questions along the way and made sure to cleanup at the end of each day. Their attention to detail was impressive and they even did some touchup painting so I wouldnt have to get a painter. They even arranged to have my solar panels removed and reconnected at a reasonable cost. I can't say enough about the quality of their workmanship and professionalism and very highly recommend Protech Roofing to anyone looking for a new roof. read more

I didn't experience any issues with this company. They did exactly what was expected in a timely manner.

I had the pleasure of working with Charlie and Protech Roofing as a GC restoring historic homes on base and they did a great job and Charlie was the best to work with. This time, I worked with Charlie and Jared for my home. My old roof was over 60 years old, had 3 layers of shingles and numerous boards needed to be replaced. The joint between my original home and extension that we added was also leaking. The crew replaced all the damaged boards, found the leak in the extension seam and repaired it. The new shingles that Jared recommended looks great and our new roof is awesome! Definitely a drastic improvement from what it was and we couldn't be happier! The crew did a great job! They worked hard and cleaned up everyday! Professional, friendly and respectful! Just like Charlie and Jared! Professional and now personal expereinces have been awesome! I highly recommend Charlie, Jared and the ProTech team if you're in need of a new roof or repairs! You will get the best quality roof and the best team to work with! read more

Ours is a typical 20yo Hawaiian home with not a lick of insulation anywhere and boy oh boy it can get roasty during the summer. The AC runs all the time but can't get the temp below 76 (it is a 20yo AC). A couple years ago I installed a solar-power attic vent, the thing runs all the time but doesn't help with the heat. So this year we decided to replace the AC and have insulation put in. Charlie's estimator came on at the agreed time, crawled around the attic for a couple minutes then gave us a reasonable quote. We had the new AC go in first so put the job off for a couple weeks. When we were ready we called Charlie and he had his team out to the house within a couple days. One man installed batt insulation around the penetrations and air vents while the other 2 worked the blow-in apparatus. The entire job was done by noon, they cleaned up and left. Previously the attached garage would heat to 96-98 degrees, now it never exceeds 84 even with the door fully closed. The interior seems to peak out at 86-88 degrees with windows open, at least that's been the highest so far, turning on the AC cools down to 74 in about 10 minutes. So much better, I can't wait to compare electrical bills after a couple months! We highly recommend Protech Roofing! read more

We recently had our roof replaced by Protech and we are very pleased with the outcome. The team at Protech did an amazing job and met all the times they promised. We took a long time to finalize the job because of some issues but the team at Protech honored and extended the quote they first gave us. I can't say enough about our contact Jared who we worked with thru the entire process. Jared provided great communication and was very timely with this information with us. The team that did the work was top notch and very professional. We added on a job to add on gutter to the house and that was also a seamless operation with these professionals. The team also did quality work to make the repairs our 60+ year old house desperately needed to prepare for the reroofing job. We contacted 3 roofing companies and no doubt this company is the best in the business. We are very pleased with Protech, Jared and the whole team. read more

Protech Roofing & Insulation - Protech Roofing as its best! - Roofing Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Protech Roofing is great. From the time I called Charlie and Jeff came to estimate the job, it only took 2 days for them to finish the blow-in insulation. Jeff and his crew took the time to protect the flooring and entire house while they worked. They were professional, friendly and hard working. Finished in about 3 hours with minimal noise. I'll follow up on the temperature difference once the spring/summer heat starts up. Thanks to Charlie and Jeff for getting this done and quick! read more

Protech was awesome on my re-roofing project. Jared was always quick in responding and patient with all of my questions and requests. The crew were really nice and cleaned up daily. I kept my front door shut most of the time because the wind blew so much dirt into the house on the first day so I didn't talk to the crew much, but two of my neighbors mentioned how nice they were too. A lot of wood was replaced and I was surprised to see that they even painted the new wood. I was so not expecting that! Aside from great service and work, the price was right. I got about 6 estimates from other companies and Protech's price was competitive and on the lower end. They came well recommended by a close friend and I'll be recommending them to anyone looking for a re-roof in the future. read more

Aloha, Charlie of Protech Roofing did us right re-roofing our home. It was a very messy job as our 1923 home had layers of asphalt shingle & wood shake. We decided to remove all old material & replace with new plywood & new shingles. Charlie suggested a newer reflective shingle of high quality, long lasting & reflective to keep the house cooler, nice. Some other wood-rot boards needed replacement along the way, which I'm glad they did. A costly job, but Charlie gave a great quote. Nice he could re-do our leaking gutters too. Super friendly staff were very considerate & cleaned up daily as our dog likes to roam the yard. At the end, they vacuumed the attic, used a magnet to get all the old nails in the yard & clean-up nicely. I would highly recommend Charlie & his team. A life saver! Mahalo! read more

Having our roof done was a major purchase for us so it was important to choose the right company do the job to last a long time. Thank goodness Bob came out all the way to Waimanalo to give us a great quote! The job was scheduled when it was convenient for us. The job was totally completed in just 2 days! On the first day the old roof was removed and hauled away. The guys who came to do the job were prompt, hard-working, respectful and took pride in their work. Everything was cleaned up before they left. On the second day, necessary repairs were done to the roof by one crew while another crew focused on installing the new roof. These guys were so efficient in the way they worked together so well. Perry was the foreman for this job. I was impressed at how fast everything was done and how he and his guys listened to all of my concerns. It seemed important to them that I was happy with the job they were doing. Again, everything was thoroughly cleaned up before they left. When we initially chose the roof we mentioned that the house was rather hot. 12 vents were installed and silver birch was recommended to make the house cooler. I am very happy we decided to go with Protech Roofing. I will definitely recommend these guys to anyone I know who needs a reliable roofing company. read more

It was that time again to re-roof the house and if you've ever gone through this, it's not a purchase you want to do! Good thing it doesn't come too often. After a speaking to some friends and family , Protech was highly recommended and the only company we contacted. We made an appointment for an estimate and were so pleased with the service and price, we didn't even think of calling anyone else! Even the choice of color was suggested as we asked for a roof that would be "cooler" than the last one we had. Silver Birch was suggested we gladly took the suggestion. Two days were scheduled and considering our roof is so large, we were suprised it would be completed so quickly. The work completed was amazing. The workers absolute professionals. Other than the noise they made on the roof from removing the old and installing the new, you would hardly know there were so many of them up there! None of the usual "talk story" you hear when you have workers present. They were absolute "worker bees"! Upon removing the roof they all gathered in the drive way and swept and cleaned up everything. I know when the last time we had the roof done from another company we found dozen's of nails and staples on the ground. Watching them clean the area left us in great confidence that we wouldn't have to worry about nails in our tires. The second day they put up the new Silver Birch roof so quickly! The house looked fantastic. We immediately could tell the difference in the temperature inside the house as well. It was so much cooler and we were so happy about their suggestion. We were so pleased with the work Protech did, we even had them comeback and remove and replace all our gutters. It was a one day job and again, professional workers and an excellent job! If you're in the market for a roof or gutters, I highly recommend the services of Protech. You will get professionals from the estimate to the install! read more

After purchasing our new home, my husband and I need to start renovations right away and the roof was in definite need of repair. We were referred to Charlie at Protech Roofing by a long-time friend who had their roof recently done. After contacting Charlie, he was able to schedule us quickly and provided everything we needed for our areas' association requirements. A couple weeks later and our roof is finished; it looks amazing. We had a soft spot on our roof where there was some water damage and leaking but they were able to repair it. An attached shed was also re-roofed to match the house and it looks great! Working with them has been a pleasure and Charlie was very professional and prompt on answering any questions or concerns we had. We would definitely recommend Charlie and Protech Roofing to anyone in need of their services! read more

We absolutely LOVE the job that they did!!! Jared and the entire crew are professional and provide quality work. They completed our duplex in 2 days. The workmanship is unbeatable. A realtor friend recommended Protech and they did a great job! We needed a quick quote for my Mom's house in Mililani, and they were able to come out the same day we called. They scheduled her new roof work earlier than anticipated and submitted the paperwork needed for MTA approval required for Mililani. They said the work would take three days and they made sure they had enough crew members to make that schedule. My mom said the crew was professional and didn't try to push any extra work on her. Jared even vacuumed the living room so my mom didn't have to...mahalo Protech! read more

Although I already had 3 other quotes, a friend referred me to Charlie. I am so glad I went with Protech. Initially got a quote for the roof. Intended on purchasing skylights elsewhere, not knowing Protech could do it. Glad I mentioned the skylights to Charlie. Single story shingle roof and two Velux Solar Skylights with solar blinds installed in two days. Roof is now ready for PV, skylights and the new ridge vent have cooled the interior of the house drastically. Charlie and his crew is super easy to work with. Very professional, highly recommended. read more

Charlie's team at ProTech Roofing is unmatched in quality, timeliness, and professionalism! They installed a brand new roof a year and a half before I purchased the home; no issues since. They transferred the warranty on the aforementioned new roof without a hassle. They installed roof vents to assist with cooling my garage in less time than it took me to sit in traffic & get home. All of this & I still failed to leave them a raving review. So, when I recently called Charlie to voice a concern about a section of my ceiling (interior & unrelated to the roof installation), without delay he sent a couple of his guys to check it out & I vowed to ensure they get credit where credit is due; 5 STARS! They inspected the roof, added some caulking for good measure & assured me that the roof was good-to-go... they were right. I can't say enough about how pleased I am to have a roofing company whom I trust & who provides quality workmanship that is correctly completed the first time! I highly recommend ProTech Roofing whether you're in the market for a new roof or in need of repairs! read more

My roof had Duralite, light weight concrete tiles installed about 20 years ago. Seems like the summers were getting hotter and hotter over the years and since the tiles were brittle and wanting more PV panels, I decided to reroof. My big concern was cutting down the heat into the attic and home. Bob from Protech roofing listened to my concerns and gave me options and did not push their preference of roofing materials as the other roofing companies did. The whole process was very pleasant as Bob and Charlie patiently answered all of my concerns. Being a senior citizen, I was not concerned about a roof that would last a lifetime with the double or more the cost. I picked the approved association asphalt shingle with the most reflectivity. Bob suggested installing a ridge vent for passive attic ventilation to help with the heat. Protech also installed 3 tubular skylights on the new roof which provided lighting to the interior of the home. On the first day, Perry and his crew worked through pouring rain to complete the water proof sheeting before going home. The crew was soaked to the bone. That evening, it poured for hours. I was relieved that the sheeting they installed prevented any rain from getting into the attic. A wireless thermometer in the attic was installed prior to installation of the new roofing materials to quantify the heat difference between the two different roofs. Prior to installing the new roof, the maximum attic temperature got up to 114 degrees. After installing the new roof, the maximum attic temperature was 104 degrees. In the home where it really counts, I did notice that the home took longer to get hot and the home is cooler. I am very happy with the services of Protech, the new roof, ridge vent, tubular skylights, and the results you can feel. You are in good hands with this company and I would highly recommend their services. read more

I needed to retro-fit blown-in insulation into the attic of my uninsulated house in order to survive another summer. Nearly every contractor I contacted said no over the phone or laughed once they took a look at the tiny crawl space. But the guys at Protech came same day for an estimate and two days later were installing the blown-in insulation. The whole team was prompt, clean, and efficient. And my home is way cooler now than it was last week. I'd happily hire them again. read more

Charlie is the best, have been using Protech for over 20 years now service and work super.

I would highly recommend Protech Roofing. I am a property manager and had a rental house that needed to be re-roofed. Charlie was very responsive getting his proposal to me. He had the best price out of 3 proposals. Once approved he scheduled the work promptly and showed up as promised. When rotten boards were discovered upon removing the old shingles he sent photos right away and took care of repairing them. The job was completed on time and according to the specs of his proposals. No add ons (except for the material to repair the boards). All trash was hauled away and the grounds left clean. The roof looks great. The owners are happy and I am very satisfied. Will definitely be calling on Protech again next time. read more

Charlie Spiegel is the owner or Protech. He is really great to work with. Charlie, Chris and Jeff came over to our home to install the insulation. Charlies and his employees are knowledgeable, respectful and have great work ethics. Charlie's equipment is state of the art, with everything self contained inside the truck. This way there is no mess or disruption to your home. We turned our air conditioning system off while Protech Roofing installed our attic insulation. (8" of blown in CertainTeed) when the job was complete we turned our ac unit on and our home went from 82 degrees to 75 degrees in 20 minutes. Our home is now consistent in temperature, and has no hot spots or inconsistent temperatures. Our home is also much quieter. Thank you Charlie, Chris and Jeff. PS: after learning how inexpensive insulation is and the payback in energy savings, as well as witnessing Charlie and his crew at work our neighbors on the block are anxious to have Protech install insulation in their attics to reduce energy consumption. I just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to Bob! I searched for a roofing company yesterday to address my parent's leak in their roof after Hurricane Lane. Bob called me back within a few hours and had already googled my parent's home. He was very courteous and shared his knowledge of this older type of aluminum shingles. He was honest and provided the name of another smaller company whose owner is very knowledgable about this type of roofing material. He still offered to be available to help after calling the other company as he heard my plight in taking care of my elder parents and the stress of keeping them safe. Well, the owner of the other company came out this morning and fixed the leak. I thought I'd have to wait and pray for no rain, but it's done. I called Bob back today and thanked him! That is what you call exceptional and caring customer service. I consider that good sound business as Bob demonstrated that it is about how we can help a customer's needs and what all businesses should/could be following! I will definitely refer others to Protech! I wish the best to Bob and this company!! read more
