We (Management) are not too familiar with the process in regards to remediation, insurance claims and timelines so their guidance has been extremely helpful and reassuring. Ohana has been great with communicating what needs to be done and where we are in terms of who handles what. They even attended a meeting in which they addressed various concerns from management to unit owners. My take prior to dealing with Ohana was that all of these companies all very similar other than who has a GC license and who doesn't but I've been sadly mistaken. Still no response back or fix for the gutter they damaged. Winder what would happen if my roof ever needed repairs. They would probably not respond to me then either at this rate. So I guess whatever warranty and claims they put on the contract is worthless based off if my experience. So disappointing because they started off great. First and foremost I would like to thank Tanden, for helping us out from the beginning. Back in May I contacted Ohana Construction because we were in desperate need of a new roof. Tanden contacted us and came to see our roof, Unfortunately we were not able to do our roof back in May. Last week I reached out to him and once again with Great Customer Service he came out. But they gave me an informal, verbal quote of $18-28K just to recoat our flat roof for our modest sized house, which seems overly expensive. They promised to send me a written quote after they crunched the numbers, but did not send it even after I sent a reminder. read more

Ohana construction painted our veterinary clinic and our parking lot. The estimator James was friendly, efficient and to the point. They offered the most competitive price from the three businesses we asked. It was easy to schedule the job - a huge crew showed up each day (maybe six guys or so) - and the job was completed in under a week. The last day, they seemed a little rushed, like they were in a hurry to get to another job - and there was some overspray that I complained about. So James sent someone back the next day to make it right. I am very happy with the quality of work and again thought that the prices were amazingly reasonable. What started as a shower stall replacement ended up being a complete overhaul. I received 5 quotes from different roofers and chose Ohana construction. With the bad experience I had with CertainTeed Warranty services for my current roof, I didn't want them to use that product again. Instead Ohana sat down with me and gave me options that fit my needs as close as possible. The response to quote and the professionalism was great. They used a drone to take pictures of my roof as well as physically inspected it. The quote was fair and the turnaround time was excellent. They completed the roof in a day and cleaned up around my home which was appreciated. The only reason why I gave them 3 stars was the day of the install they informed me that the color I chose for the roof was back stocked and gave me the offer to reschedule or choose a color in stock. I was a little annoyed since I took off and we received the approval of the color a week before. They were very apologetic and I chose a color very close to what we wanted. I have great experience with the company. Highly recommended! Everybody is easy to work with.

1. Ohana did not notify me that they couldn't start on our agreed upon time. They only told me when I called them the day before they were scheduled to start to let them know my PV was removed and everything was ready for them. 2. I already had PV removed by separate company, after the Ohana PM confirmed the start date a week before. I then took the week off of work, and had tight window before wife's surgery, guests visiting, and me having to leave town. They did not care. They dismissed my schedule as if it didn't matter. 3. So Ohana subbed work out to keep me happy. Not ideal. If I wanted to hire the other roofing company I would have, but Ohana left me with no choice. 4. The roofing sub started a day late. Showed up late and left early most days. 5. The roofing sub also did not let me inspect the subroof once the old roof was removed before they started lying down new underlayment. This was the primary reason I had the old roof removed in the first place. 6. Ohana PM knew that. I had multiple rotten beams and three leaks so suspected there would be other problems beneath. We discussed walking the subroof to assess its condition before new roof would be installed. I was willing to pay for additional repairs as needed. 7. But Roofing sub covered up things I wanted to repair and I wasn't given the chance to inspect the rest. Now, I won't know what else needed repair. 8. Could give multiple examples but not worth it here. 9. Multiple areas that still concern me - including now broken ship lap that I can see in my attic and two depression areas that will likely cause standing water problems. 10. Then, mid-job, the PM1 left for vacation. Good for him. I couldn't. But he did. 11. So PM2 stepped in. He was apologetic and told me the roofing sub would work on Saturday to make up the time, but they did not. More BS. 12. Then the work was subpar. Sloppy finish along vent pipes etc.; they didn't tape or even them off. Looks like a DIY did it. 13. They also spilled and dripped black stuff on multiple parts of brand new roof and flashing. Got it on my new vinyl fence and my stonework too. 14. They did not finish on time forcing me to revise my work and travel schedule. 15. Roofers left cigarette butts and roofing material all over yard and in gutters. I find butts and waste in my yard every time it rains. 16. They also did not replace the insulation on the solar water heater pipes. Sloppy reinstall too. Pieces of old roof stuck to it, etc. 17. Rescheduled guy (Chuckie) showed up as scheduled, on time and did a great job. The one bright spot of the experience. Chuckie deserves credit. He takes pride in his work. 18. They also did not install my bathroom exhaust fans as contracted and as scheduled. 19. We rescheduled this to occur the same day as Chuckie and then that guy (Electrician 1) did not have correct connection pieces so had to reschedule again despite confirming date two weeks in advance and me again having to take day off. He said he wasn't provided photos or info in advance. Again my schedule was ignored. 20. I wasted dozens of hours. Had to cancel and reschedule other things repeatedly. 21. I wasted vacation time and impacted family guest visits. 22. In the end, I didn't get what I wanted yet they hit me with a $5k change order with the final bill, which they've since reduced recognizing they overcharged. 23. I have not been more frustrated with a construction job and I'm in the business. 24. Overall disappointment. read more

I'm disappointed to learn that Ohana did not adequately vent our attic which will shorten the lifespan of our roof and potentially void the warranty. Since this new roof was installed the house is drastically hotter inside because of this lack of venting. Soon after installing it there was a leak and it was patched but I have twice requested a call back about this venting issue and have yet to hear back from them. read more

Not sure what's going on with this company, but they've done some work for me in the past, and we're pretty good, but recently they've been very unresponsive and unreliable. I met with them to go over some work and was waiting on a quote. Weeks went by with nothing. I called and texted, finally getting a response that they'll have something next week. Still nothing after a few more weeks. They have a mainland service answering the phone and taking messages at their office number, which doesn't seem to help their responsiveness. Ohana Construction was the first company to respond to my initial HomeAdvisor request and provided great customer service throughout the entire process. Mike was able to come out to do a roof evaluation to let us know whether we needed to replace our asphalt shingles before installing Solar. A very good communicator, I appreciated that he paid attention to the minor details, like greeting me by name after just the first phone call. You guys!! My neighbor is redoing their roof with idk what company and they are on day 5!! Ohana replaced my old roof with a new one in 1/2 a day!!! If you don't wanna hear hammers for a week, hit up Ohana Construction. Look, I know nothing screams adulting more than getting a new roof. For the price of a new roof, you could buy a pair of jet skis! Or take a really nice trip somewhere. And who wants to go through the hassle of being at home to handle all the quotes, follow ups, etc? It's just something to put on the backburner and keep it simmering for a while. Honestly though, I wish we had called Ohana long before we did. They made the process so painless. The prices were amazing. The ease of them scheduling around our convenience, the friendliness, the efficient system they have in place all led to us getting a new roof in record time! My parents had a leak at their residence. I provided them with the numbers of several roofing companies I found on Yelp, including Ohana Construction. A rep came out to take a look but wasn't able to take an overhead pic. There was some delay thereafter... approximately 10 days between that initial appointment and when they scheduled to come out again. Nevertheless, on the day of the next appointment, my parents waited for a rep to arrive. No one showed up. The initial rep told my parents that the rep who was scheduled to come out said that he drove by their residence, and it looked like no one was home, so that was that. Of course the obvious question is why he didn't try to call my parents, ring the door bell, etc., as my parents were home. Only reason this was not a 1-star review is because my parents liked the first rep who came out. The first rep also tried to schedule a subsequent appointment but my parents moved on to another company. read more

Ohana has the best workmanship and best people to deal with like Sage Gasaway, Mike Escalera etc. They really take care of their customers until the work is done. They are very helpful, trustworthy, patient/ kind to deal with, respectful, honest, and hardworking. After suffering roof damage from a storm we used Ohana Construction to inspect the damage on our roof then work with our insurance company to ensure that our roof would be covered by our homeowners policy. Initially our insurance company only wanted to cover the garage portion of our home. However the representatives from Ohana Construction went back up on our roof a second and then a third time with the insurance adjuster and ended up with an agreement from the insurance adjuster to have the insurance company repair our entire roof at their cost. If it weren't for the efforts of Ohana Construction we, the home owners, would have had to pay a considerable amount of cash to have our house reroofed. Then came the re-roofing job itself. Ohana Roofing did a great job of re-roofing our house which is a larger two story house with six bedrooms and three bathrooms. Ohana Construction's crew came in and did a great professional job of re-roofing our house. Their crew was quick, efficient and and did a great job of cleaning up after the job was completed making sure all rubbish was cleaned up. Their work area was cleaner than before they started working on our roof. Ohana Construction's supervisors came by to check on their work frequently and always made sure to give us updates on how the job was progressing and did a final inspection to make sure the job was done correctly and the area was clean to our satisfaction. It took Ohana Construction 2-1/2 days to completely finish the job and clean up afterwards. I have nothing but praise for the work done by Ohana Construction.
