I had scheduled an appointment with them, and they came down to do a free estimate. I have known of this company for years and know Kimo, the owner, to be highly knowledge and friendly. Many years ago, I wanted to do my reroofing, but at the time my roof was still in decent shape. Fast forward, I planned to re-roof and had made contact with Kimo directly. He came down and did an assessment of my roof. The roof was overdue and outlived its life span. After the assessment, he gave me a summary of all the things he found that needed to be addressed. Couple days later, he emailed a proposal, and things that we talked about. Pricing is very reasonable and competitive. Kimo, takes great pride in his work, and is very professional, and customer friendly. Working with a business where the owners, Kimo and Warren, are hands on makes the difference in results. Kimo and Warren worked on the complete re-roofing of our family home after a storm. They were our advocates in dealing with our insurance company. They were here when the insurance adjuster came, and pointed out all the damage. When we got the insurance payment , they worked with us on their roofing costs so our out of pocket was minimal. As reflected in other reviews, their crews are very good and the work is excellent. But for us, it was that initial support we got from Warren and Kimo in dealing with insurance made turned this horrible situation result into a very satisfactory experience. Messaged On Top Roofing from Yelp about a leak in my roof and Josh responded right away. Josh set up a visit to look at my roof two days later. Josh was on time, and went into the attic to assess the leak before going up on the roof. Unfortunately, he was not able to see any obvious sign of damage on the roof, and told me that they would probably just seal a few shingles that may be blowing up in high winds. My father in law ultimately decided to just seal the spots himself. I asked if I owed anything for the visit, and to my surprise, he told me that there would be no charge for the visit. Where do I begin? I initially started trying to get my roof replaced with another company. It turned out pretty much in utter disaster. This first company helped me navigate the insurance company but then more or less completely ghosted me for a couple of months. They kept telling me that the weather was going to be bad, the owner's son had an emergency, or the owner was in a drug rehab facility. I needed to look for another roofing contractor to replace my roof. Through word of mouth, I was referred to Kimo from On Top Roofing. He is the owner and has been extremely professional. He pretty much did everything he said he was going to do--no BS. The job took about three days. On the second day, three of his guys got sick. Instead of dragging the job out, Kimo suited up and started nailing shingles down on the roof in the blazing heat in EWA BEACH to help ensure the job stayed on timeline. Highly recommend Chris & Kimo at On Top roofing. Chris and Kimo manage everything. The crew works extremely hard. Chris & Kimo even went to the neighbors homes BEFORE starting our roof to be sure the neighbors felt comfortable calling if any debris ended up on their property. OnTop replaced not only the shingles but also replaced some rot and other damaged areas and installed new drip edge around the entire home. My wife and I recommend them without hesitation. Our insurance provider was familiar with OnTop and had previous interactions with them on other projects and stated their experience has always been positive. Getting a new roof is no fun! Very messy, very loud - this made it all the better to have a company who understands all of that and does a decent job minimizing the stress. A neighbor who we'd never met (back yard to our back yard) came over to compliment the roofers for how well they were doing keeping the debis into his yard at a minimum. I have no idea how good their product is, but their customer service is terrible. They are currently doing work on my neighbor's roof, and I have debris (i.e. roofing material, wood, screws, nails) in my driveway all the time. I come home from work, there's debris. I leave to go to work, more debris. The only time they've cleaned up my driveway was in the middle of the day on a Saturday when I couldn't even leave my driveway because there was so much debris. However, they must not have cleaned up again when they were done for the day because there was more debris in my driveway when I came home that afternoon. Not only that, but I need to check the driveway every time I want to leave or come back to check for screws that might puncture my tire (see pics). With all this that's happening, you would think a call to management would help alleviate the problem, but that's not the case. When called, no one picked up. Then, when given the number to the owner, he rudely said, "we'll have someone come out to clean it up," and hung up. But did anyone actually come to clean their mess? Definitely not. Furthermore, from the owner's blub on Yelp, he boasts that, "On Top Roofing prides itself on being family friendly. It also aims to be the best roof contractor around in terms of affordability, honesty, and integrity." Sorry, but there is nothing family friendly about them. I have 4 kids between the ages of 3-7 who like to run around in the driveway, but haven't been able to for the last week because of all the mess landing in my driveway. And integrity? There is none. So, they might be affordable (idk, I've never checked), and who knows if the work they do is any good, but I can tell you that they're sloppy, don't seem to care about anyone else, and have terrible customer service. This company is great to deal with. My mother-in-law's house had a leak during the recent downpour. I went online not knowing what company to contact. I chose On Top Roofing because they were highly rated and they had right on there website a place to email them. Since the leak happened on a Sunday night that was helpful. Monday morning when I woke up there was already a response. They were able to come quickly and after identifying the problem, gave me quote, got my approval and it got fixed in a timely manner. Was very stressed out when I discovered that my roof was leaking. Called and set up estimates with several companies. Everyone I called before On Top fell short. On Top, on the other hand, responded lightning fast. Got an estimator to our house quickly, sent over the written estimate in a few days, and within a week we were scheduled for our roof to be redone. On the day of construction, the whole crew came in on time and started work right away, doing things the right way. They actually finished the job ahead of time. The final price was just a few hundred dollars more than the estimate. This covered a small fix and replacement of an area where the wood was rotted through. The estimator wasn't able to see the rot at that time, so I thought the increase was totally fair. After the job pau, they cleaned everything up nicely and followed up quickly with the final invoice. To start off, I don't do yelp, I made a user profile just to leave this review because of our terrible experience. Be very wary if this company, ON TOP ROOFING, shows up and starts working on a roof for one of your neighbors. Imagine ... EVERYTIME you use your driveway, you have to do a walkthrough to check for nails that could puncture your tires, even at night, you need to check with a flashlight. Imagine ... coming home from work and being told that your 4 year old found a nail in the driveway that he uses to run around in and play. Imagine ... the frustration that builds up when you've told the workers and one of their bosses to clean up their mess and you continue to find debris and nails when you come home and they're gone. That's my experience with ON TOP ROOFING. So debris was left in our driveway over the past weekend, which included roofing material, wood shards, and NAILS. They left a mess on our neighbors roof on Friday and it all blew into our driveway overnight. Some of our cars were found with debris on them, luckily no major scratches. I asked a couple members of the crew that spoke English to clean it up when we saw them the next day and one of them was very helpful and tried to clean up their mess. I left for a meeting, came back, and was flagged by my sister in law who had just got home and was told to not drive down our driveway because she found MORE nails. I had to park on the street for the rest of the day. When they were finishing up, I asked for them to clean up again, which the one guy that cleaned up earlier did. After doing a walkthrough myself, I still found nails and showed them to the worker. I could tell he knew they were wrong in leaving that kind of stuff in our driveway, especially when I told him that we have kids, a 3, 4, and two 6 year olds that play there. I asked if I could talk to their boss to complain but was told to call the number on the truck. I did and was greeted with a message to call another phone number, so I called that new phone number from the message and was greeted with another message asking to leave a message for a quote. I left my name and number for a call back. Never got a call back so I talked to the workers and told them that I wanted to talk to someone, they gave me another number, said it was their other boss Chris. After they left and more debris had fallen into our driveway again, I called Chris who didn't want to hear my complaint, he just cut me off and said "Yea, yea, I'll send them back to clean up." Which they didn't. I then got a message from Kimo that said that they would be back on Monday and would clean up then. Came home from work on Monday, guess what, nail in the driveway. It's now Tuesday and what am I told when I get home from work? My 4 year old found a nail in the driveway ... again, this is a space where our kids run around and play in. The disregard for our safety and property is ridiculous, which is why I felt I had to write this review to warn others. read more

This was a last minute small project. Plumber was putting in new vent holes in the roof and the holes needed to be flashed on the metal roof. I called several companies. Two different companies said they would do it and then backed down. The plumber had to reschedule several times because he didn't want to leave the vent holes without flashing in case it rained. Kimo, an owner at On Top came to the rescue and made himself available on a Saturday so the job could be completed. I can't adequately express how extremely satisfied I am with On Top Roofing!! In summary, if you're reading this review - you really don't need to read any further or compare to other roofing company reviews. Give Kimo a call and have your roofing problems quickly and satisfactory resolved. I wasn't paid to write this review or knew Kimo prior to this job. My review is completely unbiased. I just feel he's a great guy with a lot of knowledge, a good crew, and the ability to complete a job well done quickly and within budget. But if you want the details why I feel this way... I purchased a very old home that was not maintained by the prior owners. During escrow, the appraisal flagged the roof and I was required to deposit money into escrow to replace the roof by a certain date. I contracted with a well known roofing company and after two months and numerous anxious calls asking about my scheduled start date, I finally received a date they would come down to start my roof repairs and shingles. The initial roofing team came down and immediately said they didn't have enough materials with them and another person will call to reschedule with me. Two days later I get a phone call that they're no longer able to do my roof (this was after two months of waiting to get a schedule date and with a looming escrow deadline that they knew about!!). Luckily, Bronson with Alternative Electric was re-wiring my home and referred Kimo from On Top Roofing. I called Kimo up and he came out the following day (wow). The next day, he pulled some guys to start prepping carpentry work on my fascia (seriously WOW). Over the next week his crew repaired the entire fascia around my house, first layer of shiplap, some rafter tails, hips, and laid down the new shingles and solar fan. It was so amazing!!! After waiting two months and headaches with the prior roofing company, I can't believe the speed of On Top Roofing. The main carpenter was very experienced in home building, along with Kimo, who I learned met while building for Gentry Homes. I'll upload some photos of the carpentry work that was needed. They really took the time to replace the damaged wood and shiplap before laying on the new roof shingles. Once I finish painting the exterior of the home, which I can do now that the roof is completed (finally), I'll post nicer pics of the roof and finished work!
