They did a great job working with me and my motherboard manufacturer. The computer tech was friendly, funny and very helpful. Even though it took the manufacturer a very long time to send me my new motherboard protech still quickly installed it and remembered and helped me over a month later. I highly recommend going here for a knowledgeable and helpful fix to any computer issue. They will only really charge you if they fix it, otherwise it's just the diagnostic fee. They're extremely helpful and he even threw in a free cord for my optical drive. They won't tell you that you have to talk to the manufacturer and charge you anyway like geek squad. He will inform you of your options, contacting the manufacturer being chief among them. Then he will work with he manufacturer with you then install the needed part to fix your computer. I don't write reviews very often, but it was after reading these, along with a couple of phone calls to other places that made me decide to bring my computer to Protech. Recently, my hard drive crashed. They replaced the hard drive with one twice as big and for half the price that Apple wanted (for the smaller drive) and in much less time. Also, they persistently worked with my old drive to recover nearly all of my data. Joey is very knowledgeable and I very much appreciate his service. I felt like the price they charged for the data recovery was more than fair as I had a lot of data and it wasn't very expensive. Can say enough good things about Joey at Protech computer. He has worked with us on three of our computers. On one, he replaced the hard drive and transferred all the data from the crashed drive onto the new one; on the other two, he consulted with us, helping us understand the limitations of our computers, without charging us for his time. After understanding the problems we were having and understanding our computers' limitations, we decided not to invest more money into something that would not significantly improve our satisfaction with those two (older) computers. In my last discussion with Joey, he made a remark that should turn into his slogan. He said something to the effect that each of his customers was special and he wanted to give each of them the best service possible. I truly believe that is his operating motto. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needs their computers fixed or even just some good diagnostics run. I have heard great things about Joey and ProTech for awhile now and finally decided to stop by. I have an old laptop that has not worked in 2 years, but has a great deal of family photos on there that I never transferred to an external hard drive. I asked Joey about having him get them off of there for me. He quoted me a very reasonable price to do it for me, but explained that he could show me how to do it myself. And then spent the next 10 minutes going over the process with me, at no charge. My review is not for the quality of work done, since he didn't fix anything for me, but instead for the amazing customer service that he gave me. An external hard drive that held family pictures and other files of great value to me up and died last night. Took it over to Protech and in ten minutes, Mr. Wu identified the problem, found my lost files and fixed me up with a new case for the hard drive. So nice and helpful!
