My review stays true that they didn't taste like hot chicken, and I'll even go out on a limb to say the sriracha is underwhelming as well. Good luck getting return customers with your business savvy. UPDATE 2 As you can tell by the response of the owner, they genuinely could care less about the customer experience. They would rather try to undermine or invalidate my overall experience instead of acknowledging the concern and moving on. Eh... this place was honestly pretty disappointing. I'm diabetic and I try to limit my carbs where I can and this restaurant is not accommodating at all. Pros: - the shrimp and lobster roll was great in my opinion, but I like lemon. Everyone else said there was too much lemon on it. Cons: - service was okay but it was very loud and nobody could hear each other, including the staff - they refused to do any substitutions so highly recommend staying away if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. They were good but spicy and the ranch was not great. I had the side cesar salad (good but some kind of oil on it that made it taste a bit odd) and the flatbread of the week (mozz, basil, carmelized onion). Prospect Five Points has a new owner and I think the quality of service and food has declined. We have been fairly regular customers and didn't recognize any of the wait staff. The familiar double sided printed menu has been replaced with a large format plastic version (think Waffle House). The pictures are poor quality and there are misspellings throughout. While the food offerings remain the same, the quality is off. Our appetizer, the whipped ricotta with jalapeno and honey was so-so and the bread was barely grilled. The beef short rib sliders (a family favorite) were dry and tasteless. At least one of the flatbreads we ordered was missing an ingredient (leeks). The Hot Honey Pepperoni flatbread was quite good. What a great spot to relax on the patio and enjoy tasty tapas. We shared the fresh and bright calamari lightly fried served with semi sweet fried peppers on a bed of arugula. I might be losing my mind but I am pretty sure some kind of garlic something was brushed on the bun because I could smell garlic but it wasn't a dominant flavor in the slider. Disclaimer foodie nerd moment ahead: I love intentionality like that when it comes to a dish I levels up the experience of the food. For my main I ordered the Massaman curry short rib holy flavor central!!!!! I loved everything about this dish! It sounds like something that would be best paired with rice however it was paired with pasta, I will be honest I thought it wouldn't work but I was wrong it was delicious! I actually couldn't eat all of my curry dish knowing I was about to get six scoops of ice cream so I boxed about half up and it reheated so well the next day for lunch! Found ourselves in the area last evening and this would not normally meet my hubby's needs for meat hearty meals, but since he had a huge lunch from Mojos he agreed to go try some tapas with me. I told him that previously friends I came with had the tuna stack. He chose that. We shared the spinach dip and I had the pizza that I just love here with whipped goat cheese, fig, almonds. I get it without the prosciutto but I had them put that on the side for the hubby. The one thing I think is tacky is the dip was served with a handful of pita and veggies. I'm so late with this review but I just wanna start with...I really love this place! After many, many shot-outs from Yelper Susan S we were finally able to go to this place and we also scored a Valentine's Day reservation. Yay! We were lucky enough to find a parking spot in between Prospect Five Points and BlackSheep and we were walked to the back corner of the building. I liked it as it was cozy. Not a whole lot of couples in there but we didn't care. They also had a surprise raffle going on every hour where some lucky table would receive a gift basket. We didn't win one but a table next to us did and it's a cute basket. At first we were not going to do the special Valentine's Day prix fixe menu but our server (who was fantastic by the way) talked us into it. Apparently if there was something on that menu that you really liked you could order it separately. Wow. I started out with a Smokey Paloma (Mezcal, Grapefruit Soda, Lime) while my partner had a glass of Riesling. Both were good but he wanted something more sweet and bubbly. Our server suggested the Innocent Bystander Moscato that he instantly fell in love with. For the first course we shared a Crab & Truffle Potato Napoleon (Crispy potato layers, Mustard Crème Fraiche, Caviar). That was a really good starter to have but I did wish it was a little bigger. I didn't receive as much crab as I would've liked. Next were our entrees. I got the Miso Beurre Blanc Asian Sea Bass (Crispy-skinned Asian Sea Bass, Wild Rice, Baby Bok Choy), probably the most healthiest on the menu. Didn't care about that because it was so good! I loved how crisp the fish was and the char added even more flavor to it. He got the Duo of Beef (Filet Mignon, Short Rib Stack, Herbed Truffle Mash Potato, Honey Grilled Jumbo Asparagus) and this was right up his alley. Once again, he "oooh"-ed and "aaaah"-ed with every bite. I was able to take a bite and I could see what was going on in his head. Total bliss. For the final course we both agreed on the Cotton Candy Swirl Cheesecake (Cotton Candy pink and blue swirled cheesecake, graham crust, whipped cream). We both loved this so much we ordered another one to take home. It was not too sweet but still tasted like you're at the county fair. New to the city of Jacksonville my wife and I took a Friday evening off and decided to get dinner together to celebrate finally having moved into a new city. My wife was craving tapas so we looked up a few places and ventured out into the night. Prospect had good reviews and is situated in a nice area for dinner. Since it was a Friday night I called ahead and got us a reservation in case it was busy, turns out this was the right call. We found ourselves in the Five Points area and found free parking within two blocks of the restaurant. When the got to the door we were greeted by a wonderful gentleman who check for our table inside and bussed it. If you want a place inside I highly recommend a reservation. Everyone who walked up without one was offered the outside seat or a wait longer then 30 minutes to get inside. The outside area is very nice with a full bar and fans to keep you as cool as the Florida heat allows. Once inside our server Mason was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. My wife had the Freakshow Zinfandel which was pour with a very hearty hand. We started off with the Shrimp Elote Tacos. These tacos aren't served with two very good size shrimp per tortilla and have a delicious pineapple slaw and spicy aioli that really make them pop in your mouth. We then put in an order for the Margaret St flatbread and the ahi tuna avocado stack. The stack came out first and had a beautiful plated appearance when it arrived at the table. The wonton crisps that act as your spoon were perfectly crunchy with no oil residue and a great flavor. I do recommend using your fork to top them too get a all the flavors in every bite. Not long after the flatbread arrived, it was worth every minute of waiting. I would say the flatbread felt more like cheesy bread in that the toppings expanded to the wedge of the dough in all spots except for the corners which was a wonderful way to enter the dish. The figs and micro greens ad a hint of sweetness and coolness the the warmth of the dough and cheese. (For a dash of added salty flavor use the sauce that's drizzled on the avocado stack) We finished the meal off with the Limoncello Mascarpone which had all the perfect hints of sweetness without being overpower or too extra. The house made whipped cream is deliciously light and crisp. As we enjoyed our meal the restaurants slowly emptied and by our exit we were the last guests in the building. There were small and large parties that gave the small building a very family feel. If you're looking for a great date night or an evening with friends who can't decide what they want Prospect has something to offer everyone. The menu is too wide to only stop by once so we will be back!! Perhaps for a lazy brunch one day. The only hang up for me is their lack of none alcoholic beers, they only have Stella NA. I found this restaurant on Yelp and we tried to go on a Friday night, but literally could not find parking after circling Five Points for 30 mins and gave up. We went again Saturday night and lucked out with a close parking spot. We gave the hostess outside our name and she asked if we had reservations. We did not and she seemed confused even though there were open seats. She told us we could sit at the bar to wait for a table. Perfect. We went inside with her and there were no open seats at the bar, so she took us right to an open table. There seemed to be confusion with staff as it took a while for a server to take our drink orders. The back of the restaurant was cozy and our waitress was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I asked her for a recommendation and she suggested the catch of the day which was rainbow trout served in a lemon caper sauce. I asked to switch out the rice for a vegetable and she happily switched it for broccoli. My boyfriend enjoyed the short rib flatbread for his meal. First time visit to this fairly new establishment. They have been open for about a year now and the reviews have been great. My wife, daughter (15) and I travel up to Jacksonville from Palm Coast often. We have yearly tickets to the Broadway Series @ The Times Union Theatre and love to come up on show nights for an evening out. This concept as an option with ordering entree's is exactly what we appreciate. We love to get three, four or five different shareable items. This way we get to try many different items from the menu. We chose the The Sydney Flatbread, Chicken Lollipops, Beef Short Rib Sliders, Crispy Brussels with applewood smoked bacon and Truffle Fries. I am not a brussle sprouts fan, so they were going to be for my wife and daughter. I decided to try them in this preparation, and WOW!!!. Every item we had was flavorful, cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. My wife and I had a cocktail, prior to dinner that were well made, and then ordered a wine flight each for dinner. My wife enjoys whites, and I am a red wine fan. She ordered the "Fill in the Blanc" and I ordered the "Vin Volo" flights. Anthony explained each of the wines their notes and their body. We both enjoyed these selections. We ended with a slice of the "Caramel Sea Salt Cheesecake" and it was great! All we can say is that this is definitely a tie for our top favorite place.
