A friend recommended this shop so I went the extra distance to check them out. While it is small, I found what I needed. They were sensitive to my budget and brought out some ski boots from last years models which were more affordable than current season boots. They worked with my daughter to make sure that they fit right and then warmed up the liners and had her wear them for a while to get them molded to her feet. If I had thought of bringing her skis they would have even adjusted the bindings to the boots. They told me I could bring them by later for that. Nice guys who seemed more interested in making sure people got what they needed than making a lot of money. read more

I could not imagine a better place to buy gear! Best ski shop in Seattle. I have been going to this ski shop for the past couple years and by far the most knowledgeable staff I have ever experienced. Very strong attention to detail and truly care about their customers having a good time on the mountain. Skiing and mountaineering is one of their bigger passions and you can feel how much they care about the sport and their customers. I purchased a pair of ski boots online (biggest mistake ever) and after working with ProSki with a few boot fittings instead of getting rid of the pair of boots they are now custom fitted to my feet. I would almost consider them magicians of the craft. After a week long trip to Big Sky two years ago, my skis were completely trashed (infamous Big Sky Shark teeth). Three of four deep core shots, two of them into the ski edge. after they worked with the skis the tune was significantly better than expected. Hands down some of the best work you could imagine. The business is owned locally and they take a lot of pride in their work. I'm normally always about buying stuff for the best price/deal and not one to say "buy local". I'm not sure if the guys who work at ProSki are high, or if they really just don't give a crap. Either way, it makes for a frustrating customer service experience. - I contacted ProSki back in December to reserve gear for a backcountry ski trip in February. I told them what I needed and gave them my height, weight, and shoe size. - When I arrived to pick up said gear, nothing had been set aside. They had no skis in my size, and the only boots that fit weren't compatible with the only skis they had left. It took them three hours to get the gear together. - Since they had no rental boots left, they gave me some boots to demo straight out of the box. No heat molding to my foot. Nothing to break them in. When I expressed concern about wearing brand new boots for eight hours a day for three days straight the guy was like "you won't be in them for eight hours." Right, bro. I was in them for 10 hours a day. And I've got the horrifying blisters to prove it. - I'm 5'7". My skis were 178s: the same ski that guys with seven inches and 80 pounds on me were using. I specifically asked for a shorter ski, but they had none. - The skins are excessively sticky. Like it took two people to pull them apart. I guess that's better than having skins that won't stick, but it was pretty ridiculous. The guys at ProSki seemed to think the problem stemmed from the fact that I was a girl and hence not strong enough, but Tarzan would have had a hard time pulling those skins apart. The blisters started almost as soon as I began my three-day backcountry trip, and only got worse. I complained when I returned my gear and was told that blisters are par for the course in rental gear. Really? Because I've rented AT gear from other shops before, and they managed to give me skis and boots that didn't draw blood. They also managed to get my gear together in about a quarter of the time. Sadly, options for renting AT gear in Seattle are few. But I'll go out of my way to avoid ever giving ProSki my business again. read more

Don't go to this shop. There are tons of other ski shops in Seattle. I bought boots from them and when I came back because the fit wasn't right, I was treated like total crap. Any other shop would have just listened to my problem and helped me make adjustments to my boot, but they acted like it wasn't their problem at all and acted like I was being unreasonable to want my boot to not cause so much pain. I find this completely weird because every other shop would help you with making adjustments. Anyone who has ever worn ski boots knows that some books need tweaking. It's not like this is a weird or uncommon problem. I left the shop feeling completely humiliated and confused. I'm never going back. I ended up going to Sturtevants and they were happy help. As it turns out, the custom foot bed that pro ski custom made for me were not actually supporting my arches at all. I had new ones made, and are were great! They also told me that if they didn't work, I could return them! We spend a lot of money on ski equipment. I'm not going to spend that money at pro ski ever again. If they won't even help you with a common and reasonable problem, after you've spent $700 there, then no thank you! read more

This is a shout-out to Erik at ProSki. I've never been happy with how my ski boots fit. Either too tight or so loose I get blisters on my shins, therefore skiing has never been as fun as it should be. I went to ProSki and Erik resolved my too loose ski boots with different foot beds and a shim to correct a ski that just wouldn't travel straight no matter what I did. Let me tell you that after Erik fixed my ski boots I've had so much fun skiing I actually look forward to our ski trips. We just returned from a 3 week road ski trip and I skied every day in comfort and had a great time. Thank you Erik! read more

I went in to rent skis and these guys were awesome- they gave me a great price and I loved the equipment. If you buy skis, they allow you to discount some of the cost of the rental, so I just got a great price on my new skis, which were also on sale. When they were helping me pick the skis out, they took the time to really understand not only what kind skier I was, but what type of skiing I liked to do (primarily on groomers versus powder, how fast, etc.). I'm super psyched about my skis, and plus these guys were fun to hang around with while they were setting up my equipment. I would definitely go back for future purchases, and recommend that any of my friends who are interested in renting equipment go to ProSki. read more

Rude, lazy, and incompetent. They didn't have the ski or binding I wanted, so I ordered online and asked them to mount the bindings. They embarrassed me in front of 15 customers for not buying from them. Then they took two days longer than they said to mount them. Then they harnessed me again I front of customers for not giving them my money by buying from them. Then I realized they charged me more than market rates, and to top it off after spending $100 for bindings and skin cut they mounted one binding farther forward than the other so I had to go to another shop to have them remounted. This place needs to go out of business. read more

I walked in and spent probably two hours with Mike trying of various boots. I have a narrow ankle, wide foot, and a high arch. So yeah, a tricky foot and I was almost relegated to all my ski touring involving pain. But Mike was super helpful and patient. Shit, I think I tried on every touring boot he had in stock prior to finding a mostly fitting match. Custom insoles and a little bit of heat molding. Two more visits after two days on the slopes with a bit more heat molding, and my god. Not only are my new boots more comfortable then my last pair, but the a lighter and stiffer. The boots Mike gave me have made my feet very happy and made me a better skier! I'm a lifelong fan of these guys! read more

Gosh, I just try and try to like this shop. I went four times, each time, I was sure I caught them on a bad day. I'd go back to Yelp, read the positive reviews and think "Meh, they were having an off day...I'll go back!" No mas. Each time they are just so frazzled and unorganized anytime there's more than 5 folks in the shop. Their system is...no system as far as I can see. Took them more than a week to do a simple tune. Dropped off on a Saturday. morning. They were understaffed and frazzled with all the customers. They said it would be done on Thursday. I went on Thursday and no, not done. You need to COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CLIENTS if a delivery promise date slips. That's business 101. They said come back on Saturday. Wasted 30 mile round trip. I went back on Saturday, at 11:01 am. They were, again, understaffed and frazzled with all the customers. Then they couldn't find my skis. "Dude, their buried downstairs!" Not my problem. Again, their system of work intake, status tracking, and communication (with customers and each other) Seems to be: no system. Found my skis after a frantic search and I was on my way without a "Thanks for coming in!". They were on to the next customer, who I'm sure was going to get the same clipped, impatient, eye-rolling bro-brah douchebaggery service. read more

The new owners of Proski are AWESOME! I had sworn off this shop but had to go back for a warranty repair and was completely blown away. Not only did the shop owner, Mike, go to bat for me with K2, but he gave me a new pair of skis when they weren't able to deliver the replacement pair in time. This place is amazing! I was truly blown away by their customer service. I came in looking for a pair of boots, they spent two hours of dedicated time making sure I had the perfect fit. To top it off, this custom fitting is included in the normal price (probably beats the "real" cost of any online site). They have the best selection of back country gear of any WA store I have seen by far. I drove about two hours to get there and would do it again in a second. A friend in the area said check this local shop out while I was visiting. Heading out 99 (Aurora) on the right, park down in back, easy in easy out for tune up. They just relocated and expanded out the tune up room to the whole basement. No high school punk grinding your boards. Been there. These guys know what they are doing as they live to ski and ski to live! They don't have a showroom full of every model, color and size but cherry pick only the good stuff. Back country is what they do best! They were open in August when I stopped by oddly enough as the sign says September. Note, if they are working in the basement, the street door may be locked. I went in wanting to get AT ski boots, and had a terrible experience. Sure, there were a few other customers in the shop, but I was not given much help. After explaining my ski level (intermediate to advanced), I started trying some of the boots that already happened to be out. When I asked more questions on what to look for in the boot fit, I was asked if I had ever skied before. The person "helping" me was not interested in helping in the least, not bring both right and left boots, not giving me information about the boots, and did not even know the prices of the boots. I ended up going to Second Ascent and got a great pair of boots with really great service. I was pretty horrified by ProSki today. read more

This place might be one of a few shops in the Seattle area, but I will never step foot in this shop again. The guys here are so full of themselves and give you the "I'm too cool for you, dude" attitude. Not only did I NOT receive a warm welcome, or even a "Hello" or "How can we help you?", I could barely get them to wait on me. In addition to their awful customer service, they are incompetent. I brought in brand new skis and NTN bindings to be mounted. They totally screwed them up and put the bindings in the wrong place. My husband then determined that not only did they mount the bindings in the wrong place, but they mounted them twice without telling us. Therefore, the skis were worthless (the manufacture will not guarantee skis if they were mounted more than twice). My husband had to make 4 trips (that is $120 in ferry fees, mind you) to get this situation taken care of and we missed three weekends of skiing thanks to their incompetence. Thanks "Bro Ski", but I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I'd seen ProSki driving down Aurora but was hesitant with the facade and area. A friend told me about his great experience, and needing whole new set ups after recently moving to Seattle, the bf and I decided to give it a try. Mike and the rest of the staff are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and laid back. You can tell how much they love their jobs. There was the go-to expert for boots, skis, and even gloves! I had them tune some skis and adjust bindings for my kids' skis. They did a nice job and I interacted with one friendly and helpful guy (owner?) but the rest definitely made me feel like they were doing me a huge favor by talking to me. I know I'm a middle aged mom with 10 year old skis (the horror!) but honestly, I didn't do anything to deserve the 'tude. Came by the store on a Friday night to pick up the skis and stood around at the counter watching an employee drink beer, make personal phone calls and avoid eye contact before finally asking me what I needed. This place is super convenient to my house and it's clear they know their stuff but I'll be going elsewhere next time (and that includes when I finally replace those 10 year old skis). read more

These guys are the best! They take care of my kiddos every year with perfect ski and board rental packages to suit their ability and size. I usually leave this annual errand to a busy weekend in mid-December...not ideal timing to show up and ask for a seasonal rental package, especially when the store is crowded and busy.
