Looking to grab a bite before the long flight back east, I was a bit torn. There are many options, Mexican, several Asian options, pizza, sit down spots, subs and so much more, pricing varies a good bit, but all options seem to be on the high side. In the end I settled on grabbing a premade option from Proper Food, which is a self serve situation, grab what you want from the cooler and take it to the cashier. Pricing was still high, for what it is, but a bit better than many of the other spots. They had a good variety of premade options. In the end I got the ham and cheese wrap. It was ok, probably not the freshest food available, but it hit the spot and did break the bank

I recently had an early flight out of SFO and was worried about finding a quick bite plus finding something to bring onto the plane for lunch during the flight. Will there be a lot of places open at 6am? The answer is Yes! I looked at several places before deciding on the Pasta Salad with Creamy Basil Pesto for a light breakfast, plus the Chicken BLT Wrap for later. I enjoyed both of these. I wish the pasta salad came in a larger size. They offer a very thick and sturdy paper bag for carry out. It held up being crumpled under the airplane seat. There's plenty of seating next to Proper Food. It can be nice to sit by the large windows to look at the airplanes.

Strawberry Vanilla by Olipop. Refreshing and bubbly. The flavor is subtle and semi-sweet.

This is located in the SFO airport, so there's a lot of movement in terms of people dropping by to quickly pick up some food before continuing on to their flights. I was said people, and though not ideal, we picked up some food from their pre-packaged section. How did it go? Well... THE FOOD. - Chicken BLT Wrap. I would say this was average; a little dry and plain. - Chicken Pesto & Hummus Wrap. Surprisingly good. I liked the spicy lemon aioli combined with the hummus and chicken pesto. - Ube Snickerdoodle. It's soft and chewy with a combination of subtle vanilla and coconut sweetness. Loved it! THE DRINK. - Strawberry Vanilla by Olipop. Refreshing and bubbly. The flavor is subtle and semi-sweet. THE RETURN? Perhaps... if I'm in need for a quick food stop. The ube snickerdoodle cookie is really good and I'd come back for that.

Vast food choice with perfect picking for a just before a flight type of appetite. Felt fresh and varied. It is their policy bit to accept $100 bills , they'll point out to you the posted policy bear the payment area and will invite you to go and break tou bill at another restaurant. Had I known I would have taken my custom to the other restaurant to be fair as there is no justification -beside the printed policy- for this antiquated policy especially in an airport departure lounge. No ambiance or atmosphere to report but practical airport seating areas with sockets to charge your devices.

I was so happy to have healthy options to choose from. I had the chicken groan salad and added the corn chicken soup. For $22 it was very good food for airport standards. They offered to what up the bowl but I wanted it cold.

I'm greatful for the vegan options. I ordered the vegan coconut curry tofu & it was very flavorful w little spicy kick. Please note that their food is premade & only reheated. CC accepted

Coffee only as the breakfast offerings are a stricter shock to me. Food is pricey in SF and I couldn't justify it. Service was fine. Nice and open design to the restaurant.

Spring salad with salmon and kombucha

This establishment lives up to its name: not just proper airport food, but proper food. Healthy options, seasonal choices, variety, and skilled preparation: much more to offer than your typical grab and go. My spring salad with salmon was delectable. The salmon perfectly cooked and a sizable portion. The salad greens were fresh and accompanied with sautéed leeks, green beans, potatoes, and watermelon radish. Ricotta salata and tarragon vinaigrette were also included, making a delightful pairing. The salad plus a kombucha set me back over $25, but considering the quality of the food and the usual premium that airport fare involves, it felt well worth it. A sure bet for a satisfying pre-flight meal. Their grab and go case featured dishes to suit a variety of diets: plant-based, pescatarian, gluten free, etc., plus chicken and meat options. Cold drink case and a handful of sweets and snacks to choose from as well.

I used to eat at Proper Food all the time when I worked in SF. Tasty, healthy and very convenient to pick up. I am also an Andrew Weil fan and am happy to support them. I was thrilled to see this location at SFO. I got the chicken teriyaki bowl and the yogurt parfait. I wish there was one at every airport.

Wandering through Embarcadero Center, we came upon this very nice grab and go breakfast/lunch place primarily geared for the office workers in the area. Stroll right in and you'll find a brightly lit interior with a grab n go cold case along one wall full of great to-go prepackaged breakfast and lunch entrees. Mmm.. sooo many choices... The staff is friendly and greeted me with smiles and good energy! All the food choices here are very high quality, with honest natural ingredients and quite realistically sized in terms of proportion. Not too much, not too little, but just right so as not to overstuff you that you fall asleep into a food coma back at your desk. I picked up the Mediterranean Steak "Hot Plate" which they could have heated up for me in seconds, but I decided instead to take it back home first to eat later, as we just had brunch across the street. The steak was a hanger steak pre sliced thinly, lightly marinated and prepared basically rare to medium rare at best, so that you could cook it up to your desired tenderness as you wish. Served over a bed of saffron rice and accompanied by roasted garlic kale (healthy! =), red peppers, caramelized onions and feta cheese with a tahini sauce in a little plastic jar inside. It was great, and I'd come back here again for this or for many other menu choices if I find myself anywhere near here. =). All in all, this is a great place for a guilt-free healthy and delicious light meal!

Let's start with a good. Prices aren't horrible considering the captive audience. Staff is super friendly. There's a wide selection of healthy food to choose from. Plenty of seating. As for the average, the food was OK. I got the chimichurri salmon hot plate which included roasted brussels sprouts, herb roasted red potatoes, and chmichurri sauce. Took a pass on the sauce cause I didn't wanna pay for it later. Gauging it against other "airport" food, this is better than most.

Food - 5 Service - 4 Value - 5 Great place to get some fresh and healthy food in SFO. We really enjoyed both the Salmon dish we got and the Turkey Avocado sandwich. The prices were reasonable for airport food, but I know some might find it to be high.

It's in a pretty busy shopping plaza and so parking might be tough. But you walk in and the line is wrapped around with a bunch of sandwich makers that make your order fresh. I ended up getting the lucca's ultimate (turkey, ham, bacon and cheese) on dutch crunch. The sandwich is huge btw so you can definitely split one with someone else. Everything tasted fresh and the garlic sauce is incredible. I will say that the bread isn't toasted and pretty thick so the bite that you get can sometimes be a bit hard to bite through. It might even borderline on being a bit dry because of that. Maybe if it was hallowed out a bit and then toasted, that would be my preference. Overall though, a good sandwich spot

I've encountered it several times now trying to let it slide but it's out of hand & hence this long awaited review.... CUSTOMER SERVICE DEFINITELY CAN RUIN A BUSINESS. I'd suggest the business owners have a talk to her about her personality and mood. One time she talked about my elderly father & made him feel bad - he didn't want to come back and said she's mean. Another time I asked her a simple question about a donut and felt like I was being scolded by my mom about frickin donuts! Talk about kill joy... who gets riled up about donuts?! She just is miserable and her negative energy & facial expression exudes - "I hate being here" Contemplating after today's instance of her taking the knife to open the donut box and rudely show me about my donut selection instead of just validating my order, that this is the last time dealing with her nasty attitude. It'll be disappointing if this is my last time supporting this business despite how good their donuts are, but customers shouldn't start their mornings or afternoons with a RUDE & MISERABLE EMPLOYEE, PERIOD.
