PRONTO ASSEMBLY & DELIVERY IS AMAZING!!! This is my third time using PRONTO these guys are AMAZING! I just move to NYC back in December needed furniture, went to Ikea to scout out some furniture. I found some great items, but who's going to put this stuff together? I'm a single male, Ikea's delivery and assembly was way out the park with their prices. So I went to Google and Yelp found Pronto Ikea assembly $29 to deliver in Brooklyn count me in! Ikea was charging like $70+. I couldn't believe it and they had multiple fees. The Pronto operator asked me numerous questions they were very transparent with their service and had a competitive price, they told me to call when I arrived and again at check out and they met me by the elevators. So let me get this straight they was going to pick me up and my furniture for $29 and deliver all in the same day. Well everything went as planned Amazing! I saved over a $100 in delivery alone. They came back the next day and assemble all my furniture with skill and precision. I had my bed, 2 nightstands, chests and wardrobes assemble for under $500 no more air mattress and living out of boxes yeah! And they were alot cheaper than Ikea. The second time around I had a different driver/assembler I purchased a couch and a table. I was concern about the couch because it was only 1 guy but he had a roller and everything was fine, but I wouldn't mind if I had to help out for the price you can't beat it. They're pretty flexible with pick up times this was like 8:45pm and they're still making deliveries. So everything came out to be a little over $100 delivery/assembly. So it's been a pleasant experience so today is my third time using Pronto for delivery and assembly this time I was able to have my stuff delivered and assembled all in the same day no other company can top Pronto for the price and service they offer. So today they're assembling a kitchen table, 2 chairs, bookcase and delivery for $100. And these guys aren't any bottom of the barrel type (hood) guys. I've met at least three of them on separate occasions they were always professional and respectful. For what these guys do in this fast pace city and tense retail environment they deserve medals. I've heard stories about other delivery services from my neighbors like you have a 3-4 hour delivery window and these guys show up late (mind you have to take off the whole day of work). They come with damaged items, bad attitudes and they smell. I never had that problem with Pronto, believe me it's not cool to have servicemen (strangers) in your apartment and they bring negative vibes (odors) into your home. I can't believe the negative comment about them, perhaps this guy was having a very bad day and took it out on the Pronto, because these guys are always cheery and go beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend them, I endorsed them, I love them, I would use them again, again but I don't have any more space for furniture lol! But when I move Pronto is first on my list. All praise to Pronto! What a great and valuable service! How excellent it is to be free of the maddening delivery service that Ikea uses. Those folks don't communicate well, don't bring things on time, and they have unfriendly attitudes. Whereas Pronto is low-key, helpful, responsive and highly capable. I just moved, and my original goal was to use Pronto's "concierge" service--i.e., they actually go to ikea for me and do the shopping, as well as deliver--to get the stuff to my new place before my move. But I kept changing my mind about how much shelving I really needed and that sort of thing, so it ended up being better to wait until I was in the new apt. They were extremely patient with my changing item lists and requested delivery times. As soon as I was really sure what I wanted, I got a call from James to follow up. He was great about accommodating my preference to do communications by e-mail rather than phone on the whole, also. Nice! The person who actually did my shopping and delivery was Robert, and he did a wonderful job. He was right on time. He called when he was on his way from the store to let me know the exact total of the purchase price so I could have the cash ready, and he carried a heck of a lot of heavy stuff from his van into my building. All this with patience, charm and skill. It is very rare that anyone does exactly what they say they will, and does it well nowadays. It's hard to find services that really are, well, a service. Pronto stands alone! I actually like assembling my Ikea stuff myself, but I don't doubt they'd do a fine job at that as well if you need it. I can't recommend these guys highly enough--if you are even thinking of going with them, just do it. You'll be glad you did. read more

JAMES AND MAMBA FREAKING ROCK!! I read the reviews and like most businesses, they were pretty mixed. Being a youg woman, I was especially eery of the the "creepy" comment and the chick who said she was missing something. Needless to say, they unassembled SIXTEEN (bed, dressers, desk, table, etc) of my IKEA pieces seemlessly. I just moved from Brooklyn to Baltimore for graduate school and their teamwork before I left the city helped tremendously. They were professional and rather quick considering the daunting task I had for them! I have accumulated many valuables over the time and the two men seemed way too preoccupied to even look at anything besides the furniture. Not that I carelessly leave things around but my Tiffany's jewelery, ipad, Macbook, Damier bags etc etc and other small pieces were untouched when I came back from running a quick errand. Idk why those people felt so badly about their Pronto experience but I would recommend them to anyone. James cracks a lot of jokes and had entertaining stories about his daughter (close to my age) and Mamba has a very calm collected disposition. I felt very safe and proud to have made a good decision. Their prices were fair and all of my furniture is neatly organized in the moving truck, screws and all. :) Thanks guys! I just wish I could pack them in my truck to reassemble everything! I would rate Pronto at ten stars if I could. James was amazing! I contacted Pronto right after hurricane Sandy (in the midst of a citywide gas shortage). James kept in contact with me for a few days and promptly updated me when his company was able to resume delivery (which was today, even as gas station lines still stretch 10+ blocks). James delivered and assembled a room's worth of furniture for me - a bed, a desk, a chair and a shelf - all very swiftly, only in a matter of a couple of hours. I did the shopping myself, but the company will also shop a Ikea for you if you already know what you want. I took my sweet time shopping at Ikea and was late, which James was extremely nice about. If all that isn't enough, you as a customer of James' are in for some high-quality conversation. :) After he finished working, I was left with a room full of assembled and set-up furniture, a movie review, book suggestions, a deeper understanding of international politics, and a desire to go around recommending Pronto to anyone and everyone who will listen. Now, I am aware that if someone other than James himself is working with you, your experience won't be identical to what I just described. But even in that case, it's fast, efficient, and cheaper than Ikea - what else can you possibly want from a delivery and assembly service? read more

These guys were great! My daughter designed a full wall entertainment unit and book cases with Besta pieces for my Manhattan apartment. She assembled the lower sections but mounting cabinets onto the wall and securing shelves that reached to the ceiling was beyond her capability. I emailed Pronto the links to the pieces on the Ikea website so they knew exactly what was involved. These guys are pros! I got a price quote within a day and scheduled an appointment via email. Two days later, Ron and Mamba arrived on time and brought mounting hardware just in case I didn't have it. They knew exactly what to do and did the job professionally and skillfully. They did all the work in a small space with barely enough clearance to walk. I asked them to connect my electronic components and they were able to do that too, cutting out holes to expose outlets and threading cables, etc. As a favor, they even aligned the doors on the lower cabinets (which we could not figure out how to get right, but they knew exactly which screw to turn and in which direction). The price was reasonable. They worked quickly and efficiently. As an added bonus, they're really witty, good natured, and good humored! I will definitely use them again and recommend them highly. read more

Hands down the best service I have received in the city from a technical standpoint, and the pleasant experience with both of the professionals was an added bonus. I called to set up an appointment on a Tuesday, had a quote and a time scheduled within a few hours for that Thursday. Needed to change the time and they were perfectly flexible with me. Mamba and Ron were on time, very friendly, and very professional. Had a great time shooting the breeze about New York neighborhoods and music while they quickly and efficiently installed five pieces of wall-mounted Ikea furniture and assembled a table. I would definitely recommend to anyone who needs furniture assembled or installed, especially since they did such a good job with the wall-mounted pieces. I'm a bit of a nervous Nellie when it comes to drills, and they put my mind at ease immediately. They were perfectly prepared with all manner of tools and screws and brackets, and they left my apartment looking significantly better than it had when they walked in. Pronto Ikea is one of those businesses which reminds you why living in NYC is so awesome. You have a need and they fill it perfectly. I used them to sell my ikea furniture. 8ft entire bookshelves library + 8ft wardrobe unit. I thought I was going to ruin my weekend doing it, but Pronto saved the day. I talked to James, the owner, who set everything up for me. They were professional. Courteous. Responsible. and Reasonable. They were not a shady craigslisty company. They had a ton of experience and new exactly the dimensions and specifics for all the parts. They coordinated with my buyer and me for pick up and delivery, came on time, dissassembled all quickly and safely, transported all, and re-assembled everything for the buyer. It saved me and my buyer a lot of time and effort and anxiety over the process of how we were going to accomplish our sale. Would highly recommend this to anyone. read more

This company is the BEST! Reliable, Trustworthy, Professional, On TIme, Clean, and Fair Prices. Moving can be stressful enough on its own let alone having to DE or RE-assemble IKEA furniture. I called several handyman services to help re-assemble my Ikea furniture and none of them would even do it!!! James at Pronto is an expert. This guy knows his stuff. He singlehandedly took apart and re-assembled my giant PAX wardrobe in a matter or hours---it even seemed to work better after he reassembled it! He also installed 20 feet of Ikea curtains in my loft as a room divider..did perfect job. even shopped the products with me. I don't know what I would have done without James and Mamba today. After a Friday afternoon Ikea trip, I realized that there was no way I would be able to put together everything in one weekend (and I work full time, so this was a problem). I emailed Pronto on Saturday afternoon, and they were at my apartment the very next morning to put everything together. In just 5 short hours they assembled a bed with storage, a headboard, a desk, a chair, a dresser with six drawers, a dresser with three drawers, and a futon. The furniture is sturdy and showroom quality. These guys are professional, prompt, and truly a blast to be around. Their prices are very reasonable--absolutely worth it in every way. Just moved into the city and needed to fill my apartment, so it was time for the inevitable IKEA trip. Found these guys with a little bit of Googling and, after seeing the complaints about IKEA's own delivery/assembly service, decided to give them a shot. It was definitely a good call. The van was waiting to pick me and my stuff up at the loading area, and once I got home, the assembly guy showed up a little bit later. Very professional and nice to chat with besides! He started work around 6:30pm; by 9:30p, I had a couch, coffee table, bookcases and chest of drawers. Next time you're going to IKEA, give these guys a call; you won't be disappointed! read more

PRONTO is amazing. i have used them twice for Ikea assembly as I moved from Financial District to Brooklyn. James actually beet my movers to my apartment. James helped completely turn my home office into an IKEA work of art, putting up multiple peices along with mounting my television and concealing the wires. i have referred colleagues to Pronto all the way in Jersey City and they were just as impressed with his services. James and his team did such a great job assembling my Ikea Pax system. They were prompt, professional and cleaned up after the job. I live on the 4th floor so it wasn't an easy job at all. I was completely comfortable having them in my apartment for almost 5 hours and if I ever need anything put together in the future, I will definitely call them back. I had a little difficulty reaching them on the phone a couple of times, but the wonderful job they did completely offset this small detail. These guys are great. I didn't know when my furniture was going to be delivered so couldn't call in advance to schedule the assembly. They came less than in 3 hours after I finally called. I had tons of stuff, including a closet, a dresser and a pull-out sofa bed, and everything was done in about 3 hours. Very professional, and prices are reasonable. I used these guys to help me move a bed frame and mattress I bought off of craigslist. They were able to come out that day and help me carry the frame and mattress down from the fifth floor and into their van. They even brought a mattress cover for me. We rode back together to my building where he helped unload and carry the bed up to my apartment. The gentleman was very helpful, very friendly, and very affordable! Pronto Ikea is fantastic. They were already at the pick up at Ikea Brooklyn by the time I got to the parking lot. I didn't have to wait. When we got to my apt. the other man doing the assembly was already there. They worked fast. They even handled the recycling of the boxes and brought it downstairs. We were in California for 36 hours to help our son move in his apartment. We were having a tough time with IKea delivering and assembling furniture in such a short time frame. Carlos send 2 people to pick up all the furniture includinf a bed, desk,dresser mattress and lot of other stuff. They delivered on Friday and came and assembled on Saturday. I used 'Pronto' to assemble a couple wardrobes I purchased from IKEA and the result was great. The receptionist was very knowledgeable over the phone. The gentleman sent to assemble the furniture was courteous, professional and indeed skilled. I doubt I could have assembled those wardrobes by myself and in the time he did it!
