Firstly, I brought my pieces in and she guaranteed they'd be ready by the end of the week. But then when I arrived to pick them up she tried to gaslight me and say she never said that and said she said the following week which was a lie and then she refused to give me my pieces that were ready and hanging up in the store. I have since learned she does not speak practically any English and will agree to anything you're saying without understanding a word of it, she will respond with nonsense to avoid all accountability. Then I come back when she finally tells me all my pieces are ready and then she tells me once piece still isn't ready. I go back the following week to get my final piece and it's not my piece at all, it's an entirely random item she's trying to tell me is mine. She tells me my actual piece will turn up but it has now been weeks and they haven't found my final piece and every time I call to ask if she's found my missing piece she hangs up the phone and then refuses to pick up when I try calling back, I keep trying to call back about my item and she either ignores the call or hangs up when she hears my voice. She has lost my DESIGNER piece and won't even refund me for dry cleaning I paid on it that she lost. AWFUL BUSINESS, PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This is a case of "less is more" ... how can you forget the name of a dry cleaning outfit named Ann? That's because it's on Ann Street, which is next to John Street, and on which there are no johns because this is right near the Financial District. I went in since previous washes had not gotten the food grease stains on a pair of brushed denim jeans to the point I would have hoped. I showed the employee the garment. The kind gentleman working there made sure he marked (however dry cleaners mark items) the tough spots I brought to his attention. Before I started, I asked for the price and, for the area, it seemed like a good, fair price. I only asked that it be ready for me in two days because I'd be leaving. I called the following afternoon prior to closing and it was already back in the store and available for pick-up. I went in the morning of the second day. A different person helped me and he was equally helpful and good-natured. They did the job right. While this doesn't affect the rating at all, Lower Manhattan is a very interesting place. If, upon leaving Ann Cleaners, you turn left, you're basically looking at One World Trade Center and, if you turn right, you can either head up to Chinatown or quickly enough be on the pedestrian promenade on the Brooklyn Bridge. Don't settle for just any pedestrian dry cleaning outfit. Instead, go to Ann Cleaners in or near the Financial District. Your closest subway station is Fulton Street.

I arrived at noon, only to be told it wasn't ready and to come back at 3:00 PM. I returned at 4:00 PM, and it still wasn't ready. I ended up waiting until 5:00 PM before I finally received my clothes. The person presented as the "manager" was anything but helpful or organized. There was no clear communication, no accountability, and apparently no regard for the time customers are wasting making multiple trips and then waiting around. Things happen, but this was handled extremely poorly from start to finish. The service was disorganized, the management was disappointing, and the entire experience was frustrating. I would not recommend Pine Cleaners & Tailors.
