Cheese, on tea??? Five years ago this was my first experience adding cheese foam to a boba drink. I thought what madness but apparently back then it was a Taiwanese thing that started to make it's way to the US. Now I always get cheese and skip the boba! You order on a screen upon everything. You can scroll down or quick select at the top of the screen to your desired category. Prolece has a good variety of teas to select from. In fact, too many, and I suffer from choice fatigue scrolling through the option. One suggestion would be to instead of have every combo of tea listed on the main screen, just have a drop down to select a tea. I was driving home from work, and at 9pm, only a few coffee and tea locations are often. I stumbled upon Prolece Tea and decided to check it out. Finding parking in the area was difficult, but I was fortunate enough to find a spot within a block. The walk over was pleasant, and I entered Prolece. Ordering was quick via the self-service kiosk; what's great is they even have photos of each drink! Since it was early at night, there were two tables of people enjoying their drinks and casual conversation within their homey, aesthetic restaurant. They have a shelf display of all their special teas; I'm confident that their teas are premium and geuine. I went along with an extra large almond milk tea (decaffeinted) and half sweet. I was shocked by the drink since it didn't have a brownish hue that I was used to. However, white is my favorite color, and I was going to try it nonetheless - especially since I ordered a 32oz (why?!). My first sip left me surprised. The drink itself had the nutty tastes of almond, wasn't too sweet, and left me sipping for more. This was probably my second time here. First time dining inside. It is super tiny and thankfully when my friends and I came, there was a table available. It is conveniently located next to the Cheesecake Factory. Their decor is so cute and the hot drink sleeves were super cute and pretty! You do have to use your phone to view the menu and order using your phone or their screen in the front. It wasn't too loud inside so I was able to have a good conversation with my friends. Yummy tea! I've always walked/driven past Prolece Tea and but it's never occurred to me to stop by. It's in one of those locations that can be easily overlooked if you're not paying attention. But on a lazy Monday evening when all the stores in old Pasadena close early on holidays, you start to notice what's actually still open. And Prolece Tea was one of those spots! They have a vast number of menu items for teas and they also carry some unique types of tea blends. I tried the rose milk tea which I thought was delicious. My cousin tried the oolong toast tea and she said it was great and the taste of tea was strong . The boba was super soft and sort of melted in your mouth. I liked the texture but I can see that If someone wanted a chewy texture they might be disappointed. Parking is free for 1.5 hours which is more than enough time to grab your drink and take a stroll through the neighborhood. Easy to use ordering screen, quick service, and had the absolute best hot rose milk tea with cheese foam. Absolutely wish I were still in Pasadena to have this again. Stopped by after dinner for a sweet treat. This was my second time here and I wanted to be adventurous and try a new drink instead of my staple JGT so I got the Milky Oolong but I unfortunately did not like it whatsoever, there was no oolong tea flavor imo compared to the oolong drinks I've tried here. Something in the drink threw me off. I was gonna stick it out and not say anything cause I don't like being that person but I was excited to enjoy my tea. So I built up the courage to ask the young lady if I can get a replacement drink nicely cause the flavor of the drink I got I wasn't enjoying and she asked me a few questions and gladly asked what drink I wanted and made it right away. That was so nice of her so 10/10 customer service! I went with the classic JGMT and boy was this good! Very good quality tea that's for sure. For 24oz with boba it was $6.60. Overall would come back again to try different drinks but would definitely ask the bobarista for suggestions lol or get my go-to drink. There's no restrooms or anything cause it's a small shop but there are 4 or so tables inside to sit and drink/eat your snack at. This place will suffice in a pinch. It's pretty convenient however Boba cha-cha is only a block away and is a little bit better quality for same price (their taro has a richer roasted flavor than this place ). I don't like that I have to pay extra for anything other than house milk though. Like why is Califia $1?? And whole milk 0.75? It's milk tea, any milk should be standard. Anyway I always get my Boba tea unsweetened, so I can't comment to how they do with sweetened tea but I like the taro flavor and the jasmine. The taro powder isn't too sweet. The Boba is perfectly chewy, slightly sweet, and never stuck together. If you get the taro make sure you stir it well, last time I had little powder clumps stuck in mine. read more

For the purposes of this review, I'll only speak on behalf of the TTT (Tiramisu Thai tea) w/o boba, since that was my order * Like most Thai teas I've had, it tasted wonderful. The Tiramisu foam and chocolate chips were a nice addition. They also gave me a little lady finger to make it a more ~authentic~ Tiramisu experience. The drink tasted primarily like Thai tea even after mixing the foam into the drink. It wasn't until the end, that it had a more combination taste. location & parking: parking can be found in the parking structures all around old town pasadena! theres one across the street from prolece and you'll have to walk for a few minutes, but its not bad at all. i believe parking is $1 for the first 2 hours in the parking structure. prolece is located amongst other businesses along the street, it's a few stores down from 85 degrees bakery! food/drinks: they have a good selection of drinks and snacks here! drinks wise, they primarily have teas and bobas -- lots of options! they even have popcorn chicken, and various flavors of seasoned fries. we ordered the tiramisu milk tea and house milk tea. the 24oz was around $7 and the 32oz was around $9. a little on the higher end, but the flavors and quality were great! the tiramisu milk tea even comes with a little biscuit. service: came on a thursday evening and we were basically the only ones there. if paying with card, you self order on their little kiosks and if paying with cash, you order and pay with the cashier. after ordering, they made our drinks pretty quickly! vibes: the ambiance is very chill. the store is well lit and modern. it can even be cozy with their seating arrangements. note: their milk teas are so good!!!!!! the flavor and quality is very solid. they offer 24oz & 32 oz, you can see a size comparison in my photos! overall: 4.5/5 stars, a little bit on the pricy end, but i'd come back for their drinks & perhaps to give their snacks a try next time :-) read more

Definitely one of my preferred boba places in old town Pasadena. It's a cute little shop. They steep the oolong teas so the drinks have real tea flavor. I really enjoy the roasted flavor of oolong. The phoenix oolong milk tea has good tea flavor but it is pretty milky. I really enjoyed it and they told me the recommended sweetness is 75% which was perfect for me. That time I just ordered a Peach Oolong tea, without boba. I added just a touch of sweetness, so it was a refreshing drink to enjoy as we continued walking. I thought the tea was of pretty good quality, and I wanted to return soon to try their boba. The second time I brought two different friends, and I ordered a Passion Breeze with boba. This drink was a sparkling fruit drink, and I don't think it contained tea, but it was still refreshing and both my friends enjoyed it. The boba was cooked properly as well! It's cute that they have a little wall full of loose leaf tea in jars, but it did bother me on both occasions that the raspberry strawberry tea and the lavender tea on the bottom shelf were switched. read more

My siblings and I ordered the following all with the house non-dairy milk that is used by default: - House milk tea with boba, 75% sweet - Genmaicha milk tea, 50% sweet - Strawberry jasmine milk tea, 50% sweet Holy moly, we all agreed that Prolece Tea, on our first visit, has scaled towards the top of our favorite boba shop lists. The house black milk tea with boba was extremely fragrant, and the boba itself was perfectly chewy and sweet. I really enjoyed my genmaicha milk tea at 50% sweet, and the tea flavor was prominent. The strawberry jasmine milk tea was also great - I would have liked the jasmine to be a bit stronger, but the strawberry flavor was strong without being sickening, so if you're a strawberry/fruit fan, it's a nice drink choice! It's a small sized shop with a few tables and cute tea displays, and the staff were kind and helpful. I was surprised by the quality of this boba shop. I stumbled upon this place by chance and was impressed by the variety of their menu. After ordering on the phone, the pick up was very quick and the cashier was friendly. We ordered 7 drinks and it took only 15 minutes for them to be ready for pick up. We ordered 2 Taro Dream, 2 Matcha Fans, & 3 Rose Milk Tea with boba. I recommend ordering everything less sweet and less ice. The photos below are all large sized servings - about 24 oz? The flavor of the tea is not too strong and there's a good balance between tea and milk. The Matcha Fans also has a sea salt foam on top which was very creamy and flavorful - finished the drink in less than 5 minutes! Be warned: there is no parking directly near Prolece Tea. Tasty and convenient!! Super easy and quick to order. Plus the staff was very helpful and didn't rush us. The place is in a good location off fair oaks and has four good indoor spots to chill.
