I went and got a milk tea on Friday 02/11/22 which was ok tastewise but when I saw a plastic piece at the bottom of my drink after I was done drinking it made me a bit disgusted, yet I did not make a big deal out of this unfortunate situation I didn't write a review because these things happen, human error happens so I came back again 02/16/22 to try a different drink which was Hazelnut milk tea with boba. The issue is that even though I upgraded to organic milk and added literally the best of the best ingredients available on the menu for this drink, I ended up having a horrible stomach ache for the rest of the night and at this point I'm just not sure in the quality or freshness of the beverages that cost around $9 after all upgrades! So prolece was very responsive when I left my first negative review, and I'll say now, I didn't want to write! But I had to, and they responded accordingly. The manager set up a meeting with everybody after reviewing; "the 1st review", hehe. As any great establishment should do when a customer leaves genuine feedback! Let me just say, whatever happened in that meeting worked. We ended up ordering prolece yesterday because postmates had offered $12 credit and we took up the offer. I was pleasantly surprised; enjoying a mango peach smoothie with straus milk 100% sweetness, like it was 3 months ago! As it was before. Delicious. They fixed the ratio of their smoothies and nailed it once again. I definitely recommend prolece. Great tea! I got the Cheese Jasmine Green Tea at 75% sweetness. The drink was still quite sweet but you can really taste the tea. Their cheese foam complimented the tea very well. They have a large variety of options as one can see on their menu and strong fragrant tea smells fill the room as your arrive at the store. Wow, this place was better than expected. Prices are extremely reasonable and a bit on the lower side of what Milk Teas usually go for. The largest size was less than $6 bucks and could have been split into 2 servings. I had the Employee suggestion of Hazelnut Rose MT it was topped with almonds and the foam/creme was hazelnut. Decided to try this place to shake things up from 85C and Jin around the corner, which have been my go to in Old Town Pasadena. Overall, the milk teas here were quality. The boba was chewy and not stringy, soggy, or clumped, and the tea was nice and creamy. However, I am docking off a couple of stars for the fact that there was only 1 person working behind the counter, AND the credit card machine wasn't working... and when asked about the "limited edition special buy two drinks get free french fries" as advertised at the cashier AND outside via signage, the staff simply said, "we don't have fries right now." I understand that, but please take down the signs or update them to not get hungry customers' hopes up! Other than that, the service was friendly. Check in on Yelp for 30% (wish I knew that...); other than that you get 10% off if you have a valid student ID. Late at night, this was one of the few boba tea places open. It's on a street without parking, but I was able to find a spot a block away. The menu is quite extensive with a few interesting flavors I don't see often. It was hard to even choose because of it. Taro is my go to drink and I am always hesitant to get it because so many places make it with a bland powder mix. But the Taro Coffee caught my eye since I could use some caffeine so I went for it. I was not disappointed. While the taro had the usual powder flavor, it was somehow better than the others. It was rich and creamy. The color of the drink was a darker purple than usual too. Once you stirred in the coffee, the two flavors blended perfectly resulting in a sweet but strong flavored coffee. The other drink I ordered was the Rose on Lychee Tea. I don't like floral but my girlfriend does. For me, the drink was a little too much rose, but the sweetness from the lychee helped balance it nicely. My girlfriend thought it was very good. If I lived closer, I'd be visiting this place a lot! read more

Great tea spot! I love how they display all their looseleaf teas for you, but hate that I am so indecisive with their many options. Came here for the first time recently, and was torn between a few flavors, but decided on the peach oolong since it seemed to be an employee and fan favorite. I could definitely see why -- nice aromatic tea with a refreshing peachy flavor. They brew the tea when you order, so it's nice and fresh. My friend and I wanted something to drink while we were walking around Old Town Pasadena and we found this spot. They are known for their cheese foam on top of their drinks. They have a variety of loose leaf tea to choose from and had snacks available like popcorn chicken or fries. They offered so many different seasonings for their fries. The shop was really small and they do not have indoor/outdoor dining as of yet. My friend ordered the Cheese Peach Oolong Tea with 50% sweetness. I ordered the Double Matcha with Califa Oat Milk and no added sweetness to it. The Double Matcha is basically two scoops of matcha. I love to drink bitter teas, so i thought this was a great item on the menu for me :). There was a plexiglass divider in between the cashier and the customers. It was hard to hear each other because the plexiglass divider pretty much acted like a barrier and sound could not go through. We had to repeat our order several times. We did not have to wait long to get our drinks even with two customers ahead of us. My friend that her drink was good and that the tea was strong. I thought the Matcha was okay. I had to move the straw up a little bit because there were still a lot of powder piled up on the bottom. I was not sure how they are made, but it needed to be whisked a little more. I'm catching up on Yelp reviews tonight instead of doing my homework - I've been meaning to review Prolece for awhile, although I've heard it'll be changing ownership soon and I'm a little bummed. Overall, it's very good drink-wise. Their jasmine tea is probably the best I've had. They use the perfect amount of milk and a very strong tea flavor pervades. There's a very pleasant mouth feel. It's a great drink and I was honestly blown away by it because I wasn't really expecting much. I also have had the tiramisu milk tea, also a very good drink. Nicely balanced and the foam is solid. The boba is problematic, sometimes. It's been good 1/4 times I've been, the other 3 it tasted like it had been sitting out all day (I went at night). Additionally, it didn't really have any flavor to it- just tapioca starch. Either way, I think they could've fixed the boba and I'm going to be very sad if the drink quality decreases under new ownership. Boba is a 3/6, drink is a 4/4. 7/10 which is a 3.5 and we round up to 4 stars. If you're not getting boba it's a solid 5 stars and I would 100% recommend. read more

The quality of the drinks are much higher than your typical Boba drinks you normally find in old town. What`s more, their boba is amazing!!! The place is cozy, employees were helpful and courteous. They have a list of their best selling drinks on the board so that was helpful. I got the tiramisu milk tea as well as the grapefruit drink. The tiramisu tea was good, the cheese on top gave it a good creamy consistency. The grapefruit juice was very refreshing, but I think a bit too sweet.
