This review is an add-on from our review back in July 2021. We had Barry and his team come out to install turf around our pool, and finish setting the travertine in an area where we are going to have an outside grill/hangout spot. Like the first time around, they were extremely professional, on time both days they were here and actively engaged with us to ensure the way they set everything was both aesthetically pleasing and part of our vision. They were kind when having to educate us on specifics around turf, etc. We are beyond happy with the results and are so excited this "project" actually is starting to look like a backyard that we can enjoy. We worked with Barry to remodel our backyard. He was very responsive and offered ideas that enhanced the design we had in mind. We wanted a very low maintenance backyard and decided on travertine pavers and artificial turf. We waited a couple of months due to material shortages and the monsoon rains but it was worth it! We were so happy with the owner Barry, his foreman Sebastian and the rest of the crew. We love how our patio and pool deck turned out. We previously had flagstone, cool deck and travertine, and learned that with a salt water pool, the best material to use for longevity is concrete pavers. Since we wanted white concrete pavers, there was just one company we could find that made them. When the team started to lay the pavers it was discovered that they had varying heights, which Barry immediately brought to the manufacturers attention. There was no resolution that came from the manufacturer on the pavers, but Barry and his team made it work. Our job was definitely challenging because they had to move pavers around a lot so they could get them all level. The teams attention to detail and determination to level everything out was awesome. Demo'd old hot tub retaining wall, steps and old flagstone because my yard was flooding from recent rain and poor drainage. We got bids from other contractors but they were not going to use ABC under the pavers which was needed for a heavy truck to be parked on the driveway extension. Barry F. was a pleasure to work with. I found Barry and Progressive Pavers as a referral from a trusted and higher end pool builder so I was confident going in that he did quality work. We hired him to replace our old cool deck with travertine pavers. He also did a custom fireplace and redid our patio. His quote was identical to one other paver company but Barry's communication skills/personality in the consultation helped us choose him. He was good at giving us options and sharing the pros/cons of our different design ideas. He was mindful of cost control and was not in any way trying to upsale us. He showed up when he said he would and I appreciated how easy it was to reach him via text/phone calls, quite unique compared to most of my contractor experiences. We could tell he was invested in us being happy with the outcome. During the project there was one minor miscommunication about what we expected. We were somewhat hesitant to point it out as we knew it would result in some unexpected demo and extra work for his crew. When we pointed it out we were very impressed how graciously he reacted and agreed to make the corrections, as opposed to complaining or blaming us. Barry is a pros pro, awesome to work with. The quality of their work was incredible and we couldn't be happier with the results...its beautiful. The only minor annoyance was some of his crew washing/cleaning their mortar buckets in my landscape rock leaving them gray and discolored...but honestly this has happened with every single landscaping crew I have ever hired.
