Boy did we get lucky! After the initial meeting, Danny won us over with his personality, knowledge and organization in planning for the reno. We knew immediately after he left that he would be the best fit. Since the job was so big, we did move out during most of the renovation, but Danny made sure we were informed daily on everything that was going on in the house, texting pictures & answering any questions we had. He efficiently updated our more than fair quote to reflect our changes/add-ons throughout the entire process. Time-wise, his team finished the job in 6 weeks as he forecasted. The guys cleaned up after themselves daily, I have never seen a cleaner worksite! The attention to detail when installing fixtures, floating shelves, painting, trim, etc was superb. ! Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't trust them with my dog- let alone my money. The workmanship has been incredibly frustrating to deal with. I have found countless issues with the work after the fact, and many aspects appear rushed, poorly executed, and focused more on cutting costs than delivering a quality renovation. The materials used seem to be chosen with price in mind rather than durability or long-term value, and the finished product reflects that. After investing my money, I truly expected professional-level craftsmanship and attention to detail. Instead, left dealing with problems that should never have existed in the first place. It is extremely disappointing to pay and feel like you received subpar work in return. I strongly encourage anyone considering hiring them to do thorough research, ask detailed questions about materials and quality standards, and carefully inspect the work before making payments. Before hiring him, I specifically asked if he could make it after 12:00 PM. He said yes. I then asked if he could be there before 1:00 PM, and he confirmed he could. The next day he messaged saying his previous job was taking longer than expected. I completely understood that. I even told him that the exact time wasn't the issue. I simply needed the job completed sometime that day because it was important to my schedule, my home, and my family. Instead of honoring the commitment he made, he asked to move the job to the next morning. I explained that wasn't an option because I had hired him specifically because he said he could do it that day. When I told him that if he chose not to complete the job as promised, I would be leaving an honest negative review, his response was completely unprofessional. He told me to "shut up," said I was "very bad at what I do," threatened to report me for harassment, and told me to "get someone else." That kind of communication from the owner of a business is unacceptable. Everyone gets behind sometimes. Jobs run late. I understand that because I run a business too. What I don't understand is speaking to a customer that way after you fail to follow through on your own commitment. I'm a very reasonable person. If Sam had simply called, apologized, and handled this professionally, this review probably wouldn't exist. Mistakes happen. How you respond to them says everything about your business. As of today, I have screenshots of the entire conversation documenting exactly what happened. This review reflects my personal experience with this company. Until the owner takes responsibility, offers a genuine apology, and handles situations like a professional, I cannot recommend MST Services. They had to move some tile, paint, and carpet out of the garage before they could begin work, which I greatly appreciated.
