Then I spoke with Howard about the sprouts, and he guided me through the process of solving the issue on my own without them. But this year when Jack came out to trim my palms, he informed me that my very tall pine tree had died due to beetle infestation. I am on a fixed income since I retired and he quoted me such a good price for a very tall tree. Originally I was going to have him cut it down mid May, but because the weather was getting hotter, I decided to have him cut it down earlier. He came out yesterday and did a good job taking it down with minimal disruption to my neighbors. I am so happy it is gone because all the needles were clogging my pool vac and filter. I couldn't even tell the tree was there before because they spread my rocks over what used to be the base of the tree. They ground out the base and it was as flat as the surrounding area. It was 8:30 am and even though I sent a picture he said he would be over by 11 am to make sure it's priced correctly and he can determine much more accurately the number of guys to send. He got here at 10:45 and in 5 min gave me an excellent quote and said 2 guys would do the job in 2.5 hrs. We set a date 4 days later at 8 am. The two guys arrived at 7:50 am. We went to the tree and discussed what I wanted done. I offered to help but they said they had it handled and they would come get me when done. They came to my front door when done and took me around back to check it out and make sure I was pleased. They were polite and professional. They had all the proper tools needed to do the job. They hauled away all the trimmings. They not only raked the gravel but blew off that entire side of the yard. They also managed the entire job without damaging any of the 5 large prickly pear cactus, 2 birds of paradise, and 1 mini palm tree that are all within 1-5 feet from this tree. It's a family run business, his crews are covered by his insurance while on your property. STAY AWAY…read more Absolutely unacceptable work. What was supposed to be simple trimming turned into severe over-pruning that completely ruined my plants. Multiple mature, full, flowering shrubs were cut down into stiff, unnatural box-like shapes with most of the blooms removed. The entire look of my yard was drastically changed in a single visit. This is not professional landscaping - it's careless and shows a lack of basic pruning knowledge. When I contacted the owner about it, my concerns were dismissed and he hung up on me. Save yourself the frustration and go with a more competent company. Photos speak for themselves. ***Update***: The owner's response speaks for itself. Rather than addressing the legitimate concerns about the quality of work, he chose to attack me personally and publicly, calling me disgustingly rude and telling other businesses never to work with me.
