I have used Greenwood Tree Service for years now. Jack and his crew first came out to trim my two palm trees and they were so good, I had them trim my pine tree near my pool. But this year when Jack came out to trim my palms, he informed me that my very tall pine tree had died due to beetle infestation. I am on a fixed income since I retired and he quoted me such a good price for a very tall tree. Originally I was going to have him cut it down mid May, but because the weather was getting hotter, I decided to have him cut it down earlier. He came out yesterday and did a good job taking it down with minimal disruption to my neighbors. I am so happy it is gone because all the needles were clogging my pool vac and filter. I couldn't even tell the tree was there before because they spread my rocks over what used to be the base of the tree. They ground out the base and it was as flat as the surrounding area. I highly recommend Greenwood Tree Service to anyone who wants a fair price with exceptional quality service. I will be using them yearly for all my tree needs. read more

I cannot recommend Greenwood Tree Service highly enough. We have 5 very large ficus trees and several very tall palms that needed trimming. The palms needed an annual trim, the large ficuses needed to be trimmed, thinned and balanced. This was a pretty big job, and I had several companies quote the work. What I found was that some companies really knew their trees, and charged a ton. Others charged a ton, but clearly were not tree experts. Some of the companies were landscapers who were willing to trim the trees for a good price, but were also not tree experts. When Jack and his partner came out to my home, I knew right away that they were the right guys for the job. They understood the trees, they were clearly experienced, and he charged a fair rate for the work. They were back out in 3 days, and they did a fantastic job. I've been looking for a tree company that I really trust for 21 years, and have finally found one. read more

Jack responded to my project on Yelp right away. He adjusted his schedule a bit to give an estimate on a day I was home. Took time to listen to me and assess the tree removal/trimming project. Since I could not read Yelp reviews, I was a bit more thorough with my questions about his experiences and licensing; twenty years of tree work and licensed. He and his crew showed me high quality thorough work. Worked with safety equipment and were cautious of my roof and wall. Glad to have them in the Yelp community. I used Greenwood Tree service last year when I moved into my home in Mesa. I will be using them again this year to trim the palm trees and the pine tree in my backyard. They are prompt, and have reasonable pricing. I'm on a fixed income so I do check around. The service is incredible, they left my yard much cleaner than before. I appreciate their attention to detail. They also are careful when trimming so as not to accidentally disturb any birds who have their nests in my trees. That is very important to me. The last tree trimmer I had hired before Greenwood cut a limb and a bird's nest came down with it, killing the baby birds inside. It was very upsetting. I texted Jack to see if my trees needed trimmed in the winter and he texted me back stating palm trees sprout pods between May and June, and to wait to cut them until then. He is very honest! Jack responded very quickly to my inquiry about removing a large willow acacia tree in our front yard. Many other companies i reached out to did not return phone calls, but he was reliable and easy to reach. He was able to come out and provide me a free and fair estimate. He answered all of my questions and came out a few days later to remove the tree. I was surprised at how quickly and efficiently he got the tree removed and would definitely use Greenwood Tree Services again in the future! read more

I like to give businesses opportunities to try and make things right, but Jack failed miserably. Called his business on Monday, he answered and was set to come out either by EOD or on Tuesday. I work from home, so I told him I was open to anytime. He didn't show up on Monday, no problem, I figured he would show up on Tuesday. Nope, did not show up or even text or call. I called him on Wednesday afternoon and he answered and said " I was just getting ready to call you as I lost the information I had written down for where you lived". I was pleasant and said no problem, he said he would be out on Thursday around 1:45 and I said great and texted him my address. As I kind of figured, he didn't show up on Thursday either. I called him Friday and he didn't even have the courage to answer the phone. I left a VM and said you told me you would be here yesterday and to please call me back. I also sent a text and asked him to please listen to his VM. He didn't reply at all to the text or bother to call me back. If you did not want to do the job, then you could have told me on Monday when I first called you. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Funny how you only see 5-star reviews for this LOB, makes you wonder if they are true. If you have made it this far, everything I wrote was factual and there is no disputing it. I am not angry as there are plenty of other companies, I am only perplexed as to how someone can run a business in this manner. read more
