Very clean open spot the severs were kind and amazing! Plenty of variety of beers and they have a full bar with mixed drinks as well.

I had went in with my girlfriend and we greeted rudely. It took 15 mins to be able to take our orders and as well when we when got our food it was cold from waiting for them to bring to our tables. The waitress that has blonde hair and tattoos she seemed homophobic when she took out orders and had a attitude the whole time she was serving us. I personally will never go there again!!! I came to this place for my friend's birthday party and was pleasantly surprised. The space was huge and had these amazing massive windows that go up to the ceiling which opened up so you can feel the fresh air coming in. The drinks were very tasty and the fancy drinks were topped off with fresh little flowers. And they had a great pizza vendor too. I had a great time and would definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends. The only downside was that it took awhile to get your drinks after you ordered it. But I'm still giving it 5 stars because it's a great gem in El Monte. read more

Beautiful bar but they really need to have more staff. We went on a Thursday and it was crazy packed. I know it's most likely due to the Farmers Market happening on Thursday's there on Main St. but for this reason, they should have all staff on the schedule. The bartender told me it's their busiest day. Worse thing was, they had the AC off on a day when it was 95 degrees outside. It was disgusting in there. Yes, they had the front window open and I'm guessing that is why the AC was off, but come on! There were way too many customers in there to have it off. The poor employees were literally dripping & drenched in sweat! I felt so bad for them! On a plus side, all beers are delicious and the price is not bad. I like this place, nice atmosphere. The issue when I went there was I was in line to order drinks waited for 15 minutes, there was only one person serving drinks even though there were 3 people behind the bar. The bartender serving the drinks decides to serve her friend, who just walked in when she had a long line of people waiting to be served. read more

Screw this place. My buddy and I went 2 days ago to this sorry ass place. 1. The bartender got mad for having to make a drink again. 2. They never erased the bad drinks off the bill. 3 the waitress kept having an attitude through the entire time we were there. Maybe hit up this bar post pandemic. They barley have any customers and the service is still slow. I ordered a $10 crown and coke, but if you want the small half cup of coke mixed in it's an extra $2. Don't expect the can to come with it. So after a $13.20 crown and coke without the can of coke, they serve me jack and coke. After I tried to replace it with a beer, the server was surprised I had not received my drink 10 minutes later and brought out my beer. There was no food available so how this bar stays open in a pandemic is beyond me. I would suggest just going to the original Progress. I waited for Progress on Main to open with great anticipation. Then the pandemic hit and it was delayed. I did not leave a review last year because I wasn't vibing with the atmosphere, but since their most recent re-opening after the November shutdown, I felt the vibe that I was anticipating last year. It is very relaxed. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. Now when I walk by I see the owners at the bar. I recommend stopping in on a Thursday when the Farmers Market is in full swing. I'm huge on customer service and their bartenders are the worst. I went there on a Friday around 8pm. Wasn't too busy at all. Sat at the bar and was literally sitting there for 15min and nobody acknowledged me at all. Mind you they had 6 bartenders there. None of them even looked busy. Gotta retrain your staff or get better ones. Place does have potential, but I won't be going back. Rather hit up The Bit, shady bradys, or jolly jugs. read more

Place is nice visually. Good options for drinks, good prices. But the DJ is just ruining the whole vibe. Cant enjoy the dodger game, seems like no one is vibing with his bizzare playlist that no one was getting in to. Wish I went to the one in South El Monte. This place looks amazing but unfortunately the indoor and outdoor dining was closed due to current restrictions. I happened to walk by bc I was picking up food next door. They are selling cocktails and drinks to go. I got a mezcal cocktail in cute glass bottle. I would say it serves about 3 to 4 people. Went today to have a few drinks with my friend, the people working there were kind and very welcoming. A few things I would like to point out that we weren't too big on. I don't know if it had to do with the street market going on but we couldn't sit indoors unless we were ordering food. Wasn't a big deal but the food wasn't the best quality and it took a while until it arrived. I was also hoping they would have a more open variety on "Progress" beers but the selection was limited to about 6 that are available from the original location. The michelada wasn't the best either, we gave feedback to one of the employees, she said we weren't the first people to think the same about the drink. Yesterday was the first time I had ever been to this place. Honestly, they should have charged half price for the beers for us to stay. Like the other comments mentioned it was a spacious place, lots of tables and TV's. The place was clean however, it was 90degrees outside and even worst inside. We were sweating and uncomfortable. My friend went next door to buy a fan just to keep cool. There was a few of us so we didn't get up and leave right away. The restrooms were cooler than the whole bar, we went in there a few times lol. We ordered more water than drinks again,to cool off. They really need to do something about the AC or get industrial ceiling fans if they want more business. The young male bartender was very nice and a female came after who was also nice. Sad to say we won't be returning any time soon during hot footbal season maybe when the weather changes. read more

I give it a 1 star.. at first when we got there it was empty which was nice very spacious big tables very chill how we like it. 9 o'clock came along and people started showing up still cool but 1 line for the bar which it took kinda long, well we can deal with that. Now the bar says it closes at 2a.m they gave us last call at 10:30 now we thought we heard wrong but we did order more pitchers,11 came along and security came to us and said we had 10 minutes to finish our drinks. First off the beer is not cheap and we had to leave our pitchers because they were kicking us out. Now it's not our fault the bar was running out of alcohol and they were short staffed, we should have been able to finish our drinks we paid for. It was barely 11pm.!! We were there celebrating a birthday and we spent a hefty amount.! I do not recommend this bar as you never know when they will say bar is closing and you have unfinished drinks. Waitress didn't bother providing excellent service the crew wasn't worried about the customers. I can't wait until post Covid to enjoy this beautiful location. Recently went for drinks on a Sunday afternoon. Sat outside and was able to enjoy a few basketball and football games. I love Progress I'm South El Monte but I think that I'll be visiting Progress on Main now that I tasted their non-beer drinks. I didn't care for the michelada, but I loved the Paloma. They regularly host food trucks. I enjoyed lobster enchiladas and shrimp tacos when I was there. My only gripe is the price per cocktail. $10 plus doesn't make sense in El Monte. read more

I was honestly expecting better. Order 3 beer flights at our table and after about 8 minutes of waiting, they came back to tell us they were out of one of the beers we ordered. After ordering new ones, our server came to bring one out of the three flights we ordered and we didn't see her again until and hour and a half after us being here. We had to call the attention of multiple servers to help us. One of the servers was unfamiliar with an item on the menu we asked about, and he said he would double check for us and never came back. We had to get the attention of ANOTHER server to order. We order 2 cheese toasty which we were told were like a grilled cheese. When it came it looked like half a piece of cheese was put in between 2 thick pieces of bread. They also came back while they were making our order to tell us that 2 items we ordered they no longer had. I understand how that can happen but at least let your servers know so we don't order multiple things that are no longer available. read more
