Came here on a Saturday afternoon and boy it was hot in there with no AC. It's located in South El Monte which is not in the best neighborhood but I still gave it a try. They have a small parking lot that they share with another warehouse. We got a beer flight and few other beers and all did not taste good at all. I believe they charge $4/glass so I guess you get what you paid for. read more

So you are tired of all your same old haunts for happy hour and want something a little bit divey but not a total dive with some different flavors of your favorite brews... what are you going to do? My suggestion is to go hold a meeting at Progress brewing after normal business hours. The ambience is a what seems to be the modern micro brewery... an open warehouse setting with some random tables, benches and chairs, and a food truck pulled up on the edge to provide some vittles for those who need more than beer alone. They have a large number of taps on hand with many types of delicious creations. The pricing and brews are posted on multiple chalkboards so that you can get an idea of what they have available. They do tasters, pints, and schooners. My opinion, Go big or Go home... The place is extremely relaxed with locals and folks who work nearby. In the end it is just a nice peaceful fun hang out. I am not sure how you wouldn't like this place. The prices are extremely agreeable, the staff and patrons are quite friendly, the security guard is laid back, the bathrooms were clean, and they take credit cards to boot. There is also plenty of nearby free parking. So yeah this is a great little hidden gem, if you are into those kind of off the beaten path places, then you will love this one. I sure do. So a little different type of review. Was in the area this week and was there prior to opening hours, but I got to meet the owner Zack outside his buildings. I was not able to try any products, but spent about 15 min talking with Zack about their products and what they're known for. It's very freaking to see someone get so excited about their craft, and Zack was! He also told me about their wines and sparkling wines they are working with, and I thought how unique to have both beers and wines! As I said, I wasn't able to go in and try anything, but I was able to obtain a bottle of wine and sparkling rose. I have not tried the sparkling rose yet but have tried the 2018 Syrah, and it was really good!! Thank you Zack for taking the time to chat with me, and it's because of your generosity and patients I will be back, during opening hours this time, and can't wait to try the beers. Came here around 6pm on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. We ordered two flights of beers which came with 6 small glasses for $12. If you want to buy individual cups to taste it's $3 each. We really liked the Leonardo which is a sour with passion fruit and we ended up getting a growler of it to go. The growler was 64oz for $18 plus $6 for the jar. Pretty neat location for this area. This is our go to local brewery! I love this place! Their beer selection is just enough. I don't like a place with an overwhelming amount of options. They have plenty of tables indoor and outdoor. It has that warehouse feel but also very cozy some how. They have arcade games, board games and occasionally have art shows with vendors. They also occasionally have food vendors but fear not you are welcome to bring your own food whenever you would like as well. GREAT spot to watch a dodger game. My fiance and I come to Progress every time we're in the area and are a fan of the beers here. The brewery staff is pretty nice for the most part but our experience yesterday was pretty subpar. We order our beers with one of the female staff members and over a little misunderstanding over the beer orders she gave us such an attitude. I was willing to take the wrong beer and just order another one later but my fiance pointed out that I actually wanted the Calvary. Her response was "that's why I asked again.." To our dismay she got the beer and when she ran our tab she was shaking her head ever so slightly and never once said thank you. I would've paid the $5 for the wrong beer not to get that discourteous service from her. Leave your bad manners at home when you come to work and serve your customers. read more

Almost everyday they have a food vendor available and you can bring your own/outside food. If you're a LAFC fan this is your stomping ground- it's an official lafc bar. I've watched lafc games,dodger games, and Laker games here. You can download the jukebox music app pay for credit and play your favorite tunes. They have wines, IPA, lagers and more. Most popular right now is the Sandia loca with the tajin rim- it's amazing I had to buy my first growler from them. They have some gaming machines near the entrance and a big outside patio. In the patio they sometimes pull out the tv as well. Just an all round great brewery to visit, get a flight, and chill with a groups of friends. There is about 2-3 bartenders so be patient - they are trying to serve as much as they can. A line forms at the end of the bar. Recommend getting in line to get your drinks faster. Hoppy hour 3-6! I was in the area so we decided to stop by. The brewery is in a warehouse location with parking in the alley way. You're greeted with friendly staff. I am not a beer drinker but the guy at the bar helped me pick out the perfect beer with just asking me some questions. Beer was tasty and pretty cheap (I can't remember what I had). Spacious tasting room with free board games and cards to relax with as well as a cornhole set. I had a good time with friends there and thought trying flights of 6 beers in a muffin tin were pretty cute. I like IPAs, belgians and am starting to get a taste for sours/saisons. I occasionally have a stout or porter but that is more along the tastes of my boyfriend. None of the beers really stuck and we were on a rollercoaster ride beers that were overpowering and some that were flat. How did I not know about this place being that its been open now for almost two years? We stopped by recently while in the area on a Saturday when they had various vendors going off. The thing that impresses me is the close to 30 different taps and they're all their own beers. Everything from Ales to Sours to Belgians to IPAs, they pretty much have something for everyone. My husband and I met some friends here yesterday afternoon to celebrate a birthday. The location seemed sketchy at first, but I was completely comfortable once we got inside. Apparently, they don't normally have food, just an occasional taco booth outside, but you can have your own food brought in without a problem. I tried the Grapefruit Blonde and thought it was amazing. The flavor is a bit strong, though, so I transitioned to their regular Blonde after a couple. Nothing extraordinary there, but definitely solid. Lastly, I tried the Sud-Le-Mont, which was pretty good. We will definitely be coming back soon! read more

Such a random spot to have a micro brewery. This would never be a place you stumble upon, you either need to have a friend bring you here or be on Yelp. It is located at a random industrial area near Whittier Narrows. Parking may seem a bit sketch if you are unable to park in their lot. This place has a really cool laid back vibe to it. There are plenty of screens to watch the games as well as a few retro arcade games. There are plenty of wide tables that can accommodate large groups. Now the important part of this review: the beer! They have a wide, and I mean, WIDE selection of beers. They have everything from light crisp beers to deep dark (high %) beers. Because of their variety there were definitely some pretty good beers, but there was also a couple of stinkers. I would recommend getting a flight to see what you like. I fumble over anything to say and then fumble over the same feet I have been looking at, as I go into a fast walk out the door. The "bye" and "thank you" come out easy and genuine; as I finally feel my blood pressure lowering, my pulse goes back into a normal state, and the flushing heat I felt throughout my body slides back to a respectable 98.8. I know, 98.6, I run a little hot and damn if you don't raise my body temp up a solid degree. Mesmerizing, smitten, and would it be that wrong to say intoxicating? *probably is. I wish I could have multiple meals with you. Hell, I just wish I could talk with you. But alas, that won't happen. Your beauty is... breathtaking and your aura is bewildering. Anyways... This is the best brewery in LA, hands down. The brewers are hells cool and always on hand to share their knowledge. The crowd is tits up cool. Never had a bad vibe once. And the staff... Well... Just as good if not better than the beer they pour. I think I will call her Winchester. Although Fat Henry is good... We were sat at a picnic table, a few minutes later a table became available, we asked the girl that was cleaning the table (the girl at the door) if we could move to the table that had become available. I love this place. It has become my go to brewery and defines everything I love about beer. There is a classic yet refreshing take on every beer style that Diego and Kevin mastermind. There is a subtle complexity and incredible balance in these brews that simply beg for a growler purchase. My standout choices: The Bronco - a Belgian pale ale that has the nose of a typical sweet malty yeasty Belgian and a smooth, bubbly carbonation on the mouthfeel. This beer throws a wrench at style nazi's with a banana finish you would normally find in a franziskaner dunkelweiss instead of the banana "cloveyness" of a wit beer. It's like Germany and Belgium had a baby. Double Bison - Imperial Red IPA Why the hell is this so damn drinkable? I want a steak every time I drink this brew. The malts are the backbone here presenting the drinker with the perfect balance of floral hops and coriander. If you are a pure bitter hop head this isn't for you. This is an IPA for the spice lover. The Rio Bravo - American wheat Light. Wheaty. Flavorful. This is the beer you give to the "light" beer drinker that tags along with you to federal and then you end up drinking one too because you forget how good it is. I always finish with one of these before I leave. Sit at the bar and talk to Kevin and Diego as they pour you some of their cleverly designed liquid alchemy. Have a conversation with them about how awesome beer is. Buy a growler for home. Come back the next day and do it all over again. This is beer heaven. read more

Lets just say I'm super fucking elated to have a great brewery so local, so mellow and unpretentious, and so artistic in it's craft. Lots of locals frequent after a long work day or setting in for a deep staggering drunk night. Things you should know, -It gets pretty packed. Mostly standing room only. -the beer is delicious and poweful... It's like voodoo. After a few mustangs or centureons and you'll be stumbling around like a zombie. - the prices are ridiculously low for the quality of product. - their lack of a juke box kinda adds to the atmosphere. Lots of fun conversations and a great opportunity to jump in a game of Cards Against Humanity with strangers. -tip your beertender, they're cool people. Drop in. South El Monte is definitely a random location for a brewery so, of course, I had to check it out! Parking was easy peasy since there is nothing around it. Despite the fact that it's a warehouse, the bar area itself is small. The lights are kept on here. It's definitely a pit stop for locals looking to enjoy some cheap beer.. and by cheap I mean cheap! You can definitely get drunk under $20 haha. I don't believe they sell any real food here but there were a few food trucks parked in the area. I did flights when I came here. I tried 12 different beers that night. Most of them were either good or okay. Mostly okay. My favorite was the Alamo, which was a cream ale. The Mustang was also not bad for being 9%. There were about 4 beers that I really didn't like.. They were the darker ones. They were salty.. I've never tasted anything like them.. but hey I'm not a much of a beer drinker. All in all, nice little spot to check out. I mean why not? Prices are so good here it won't leave a dent in your pocket :) read more

Progress Brewing is almost right off the 60 freeway on Rosemead Blvd! Really random and somewhat small location, but it works. Inside there are 5 picnic style tables for groups and about 10 bar seats available. On each picnic table is some sort of game at one of the ends of the table. BYOG or BYOF (bring your own game or bring your own food). One table behind us got pizza delivered right to their table!! Beer flight 6 for $12! Note some beers are seasonal and will change. Cheap tasters and full pours!!! Growlers available. Great team of staff. Great place to hangout with friends! Due to the limited seating, you might find yourself standing for a while. They should put up some standing tables!! Private parking lot available or street parking was also very easy to find. read more

Definitely a hole in the wall! It's super small so come a little before it gets busy (beginning or before a football game, 1PM, etc.). They have great beers on tap and the 6 beer flight is $12 and then they have a 13 beer flight for $23 (I think it's 23?) They sell chips but you can bring your own food. I saw others bringing in their own pizzas and other snacks. There are also a lot of board games on the tables so you can hang out and play there if the TVs aren't your forte. Only downside is that on my last glass of my sampler, I found glittery lip gloss marks on the cup. It was on the side that I didn't drink from, I realized it when I was 1/2 way done with it and I was kind of inebriated so I didn't care as much as I usually would have. I told the bartender as I was ordering a full pour of some beer and he gave it to me on the house although I said I didn't care but it was nice customer service since that is obviously gross.
