I received a unit with a bad HDMI port, brand new, from Pioneer. Professional Video Engineering was the only authorized repair center within 100 miles of me, so I had to mail it to them. Watching the tracking number, I saw they had received it, but heard no confirmation from them, no communication at all that they were working on it. A week later, I called for a status, and they said that the technician was unable to reproduce the problem and was still trying. I asked to talk to him, and they said he was out in the field, so I asked for him to call me back. An additional week and a half later, I still had not heard from them, so I called to inquire again. This time, they said they fixed it, and it was being shipped back. When I asked what was wrong, they said they information would be on the work order in the box. Upon receiving my unit, the work order enclosed said they had not been able to reproduce the problem after trying for 2 hours and had made no repairs! It took 2.5 weeks for them to work on my receiver, when they only spent a total 2 hours on the unit at all! During this entire time, they never once contacted me. Giving them two stars instead of one, since at least my receiver didn't come back in worse condition than I sent it. Could have been worse than a waste of my time I guess... TLDR: Took 2.5 weeks, but only spent 2 hours actually working on it. Did not find the problem. read more

Ron repaired my DJ controller with professionalism. He had to diagnose what the problem was and was very communicative. He returned all of my equipment in better shape than he received it. I agree with the last customer in that Ron went above and beyond. Great customer service and repairs. I will return to Professional Video Engineering for technical needs. Seven stars! read more

Don't even waste your time or money here. It takes a lot for me to post negative comments and trust me, this place deserves it. Pioneer sent me here with my DJ equipment to replace a broken knob so I drove and hour and a half each way since they were the only certified Pioneer place within 100 miles. They said the warranty repair would be finished in a week and that they would call me to pick it up. Being patient, I waited 2 weeks to call back, the girl said that after talking to Pioneer that the warranty would not cover the damage. That's fine, whatever. But why wouldn't you call your customer back to let them know? She blamed Pioneer and said that they were supposed to call me which made no sense at all. I asked her how much it would cost to repair the damages and she said that the tech would call me back at 2 o'clock that day after he gets back from lunch, no call. Being patient, I waited another 48 hours to call back and then I asked her if the tech was back from lunch yet. She said said he's been busy and that he would call back today. Another 48 hours passed and still no call. I called back again and she said the same thing and that he was busy with no apologies at all. So I decided to just go there which took me another hour and a half to drive out there and another hour and half to drive back home. No apologies whatsoever and I never got a call back from the tech aka her boss. Not to mention, the only 2 times I've been there, I walked in on the chick just playing around on her iPhone, she was probably playing candy crush with her Facebook friends or something. My DJ equipment sat there for three weeks doing nothing, no work ever was done to it and I missed out on two DJ opportunities because I didn't have my equipment to use. read more

Totally disorganized. Took almost two weeks to get my receiver looked at. Kept telling me they would call with a quote, but never did. Finally called to tell me it was fixed, but still can't tell me what was wrong. Don't trust these guys. read more

This shop worked out for me nicely. Got their address from Pioneer as an authorized repair shop for my DJM 500 mixer (I DJ). It was having a power supply problem, turned out to be a problem with the effects switch that was shorting I think. They took $35 as a diagnostic fee, let me know the problem after they tested the unit. They applied the original fee to the total repair bill, came out to be $135 total which was less than what they told me over the phone, so I'm thankful for the under-promising, over-delivering. Seems fair to me, not too sure. Office interior looks crazy with so much stuff and parts everywhere. My hats off to Ron for being the electronic magical wizard. Office staff are cool. They take debit cards too fyi. Really quick service. Took half a week for the diagnostic text and only 1 day to repair it after I agreed to move forward. I had to call pretty often and be diligent myself, other than that, I'm pretty happy about everything. I'll take the idosyncacies of a mad scientest without complaint if they can do the job. The only other Pioneer repair shop around here was in SF and was majorly behind by 3 weeks of work, plus had really weird hours and short work weeks. Also the phone estimate cost a lot more. read more

Ron at Professional Video Engineering was so caring and helpful in resolving my microwave oven issue. After the oven was repaired under warranty, it continued to have a problem. Panasonic deemed it not worth repairing and decided to provide a refund. However, the refund process took a long time with no results. Ron went beyond the call of duty by contacting Panasonic and expedited a refund for me. read more

Theater TV had issue with a surge. Wasn't showing picture and a green light was rapidly blinking, the only signs of life. Called Mitsubishi. LONG out of the warranty period and we knew that, but they were able to give us a list of 3 local companies that are certified Mitsubishi techs. Called one of the companies, they said no way. TV too old. Ok - called the other one, no answer and the number was a fax machine. Called Professional Video. They not only said they could help us, but Ron arrived on time, was here an hour and 10 minutes, removed 4 bad capacitors and away he went. Service was fantastic. Best $132.86 we have ever spent. Now I need to say this: It is a 73" Mitsubishi, rear projection TV that is 15 years old and they don't make that technology anymore. Saved us getting a new TV!!! read more

I had my 50 inch Pioneer Elite plasma in storage for a couple of years, pulled it out of the unit and with a great deal of frustration, couldn't get it powered up. Brought it to PVE this morning and before I could even get it out of the car, Ron asked me if I had activated a "power" button located underneath the TV, and I had not since I didn't even know of its existence. He said that's probably all it is, but let's bring it in the shop anyway since I'm already here. Plugged it in and viola; it was functioning just as perfectly as the day I bought it. I asked Ron if I could give him anything for his trouble and he refused, said he was glad it worked out so easily. Although I feel a little sheepish that I wasn't aware of this button that solved the problem, I would not hesitate WHATSOEVER to bring the plasma back to PVE should it require service in the future. I own a 65' Panasonic Viera HD 3D Plasma TV that had a defective digital audio connector. Ron came out, and within a week,the part arrived and Ron installed the part in 20 minutes. Lack of responsiveness. i have had the same issue with lack of follow up and returning of calls. very frustrating since they had my equipment for three weeks. i have had to call them on updates and everytime she says they will call me back they never do. they said it would take 3-4 days to get to it and look at my projector and it took 9 business days. read more

My LG 36" TV stopped working, and I was ready to junk it, even though it was only a few years old, but, before I did so, it was suggested that I take it to Professional Video Engineering and have them take a look at it. Wow! It was fixed in short order and for a good reasonable price. It works perfectly now! I'm glad that I didn't junk it! read more
