We needed a smog done on short notice--I did a quick Yelp inquiry, the shop owners/staff messaged back quickly, and the next morning we dropped in. Went in Saturday morning--the (covering) technician was courteous, friendly, and professional all around, and we didn't feel intimidated as maybe you would at other shops. The technician (we didn't catch his name) was also very transparent, as he advised us on searching how to properly "drive cycle" our vehicle in order to reset the monitors after the first smog attempt read: "monitors not ready" -- DRIVE CYCLE? Yes, we learned something new that day! We prepared our vehicle to sit overnight, then did the drive cycle early Sunday morning right before returning to All Star Smog for the retest. Same technician was there and helped us out right at 9am. He also gave us a friendly recommendation for additional DMV services that we needed to complete. We all know that car services can most of the time be dreadful, but I can say that this was my best ever smog experience, between CA and NV. Thank you, All Star Smog!

But when I called Star smog express, Henry picked up the phone right away was friendly and personable. I was happy he was able to get my car in right away because I had forgotten I needed it and my registration was due. I felt their pricing is reasonable and I really like that they offer a free rescan if your car doesn't pass the first time which I was nervous about since my car an older Toyota. First they charged me $1400 for a brake job that glitched two days later I had to get a $500 tow from Oakland. when they were done working on the truck, they informed me that they had to disable the emergency brakes and recommended I buy a wedge. A couple years later, my truck broke down just a mile from their shop so I had it towed there. Again, the charge was $1400 for a new water pump. the work did not hold. A screw came off, water flooded the engine, and this time they informed me I needed a new engine and returned the truck to me (with a $100 diagnostic fee). he kept saying the numbers don't lie when honestly their numbers did not align with what Cortez auto showed me. Since a new engine would be $6000 plus, I bought a new truck instead. Don't trust these guys. They do not know what they're doing. They wrecked my truck.

He has really good pricing even…read morewith today's economy, if your car fails smog he will charge you really low, I brought on my first time a mustang that I did not knew it had BBK1 headers and he started doing the smog and found them out and told me why it would fail and he only charged me 10$ that's crazy other shops would not care and charge me 80$ like advance smog on San Pablo ("TRASH SMOG SHOP") . Well then he guided me and showed me all the websites that I can search and look for the headers that I had in my car and see if those are legal in CA, well after a few days I did my search and brought the part number of the headers and I was able to pass smog clean and he only charged me 65 or something pretty affordable. And he talked to me really good and gave me a lot of knowledge. Now a few months later I when back with another car. Pumm he started to check the codes and stuff like that and found out that I had like a few codes that the machine was not able to read because the battery had been disconnected before, he gave me a paper with instructions and like how long should I drive it, how to drive etc etc so all the sensor or like monitors would start ready, after I drove it for like an hour I came back and pumm the car did passed smog, we had another really great conversation he was giving me again more advices on what to do with my life etc etc. I less worlds I really recommend this smog shop and I hope he gets a lot of more clients, he already has me, I will try to refer him to my family members and friends. I needed my car diagnosed and fixed today, Accutech came to the rescue. I was on the phone with Irma, she was a pleasure to speak with while sorting out what I needed done. She confirmed they could diagnose the car and fix it today if I brought it in within the next few hours. I brought the car in around 9am, they confirmed my suspicion on what needed to be done, they got the part delivered to them by 1030am, then started working on the car and I picked it up by 2pm. They go to lunch from 12:30-1:30 (I think) so I'm assuming the car was done prior to lunch and they just wrapped up after they got back from lunch. The price for the repair was super reasonable! Compared to other shop quotes, this was a no brainer. The shop has been family owned for the past 30 years. They've gained a new customer(s) out of my wife and I. Before going in for the first time, I called them to see if they had any same day availability for a smog check and I also read through both recent Google and Yelp reviews and all were positive so I gave this place a shot. And I'm glad I did! I called in around 2:45pm and made an appointment for 3:30pm that same day. I found the location with ease and pulled up to the parking lot. That only thing I noticed was that almost all of the parking spots were taken in their lot, but I did manage to find one lucky spot right in front of the entrance. This Pinole area seems relatively safe and I didn't feel anxious leaving my car parked outside. When I went in, I was instantly greeted with a smile and the place was very tidy and clean. Big windows with healthy looking plants all around. I checked in at the counter, filled out a form since it was my first time, and then sat in the waiting area. I was quoted about 20-30mins and my car ended up being ready definitely within 20mins. It was super quick. I checked out at the counter and chatted with the front desk person a bit about next steps with my smog check and car registration renewal. She was super friendly and informative. Excellent customer service. The smog check pricing was also comparable to other places nearby that I had called. Will keep this place in mind the next time I need some car work done!
