Needed Star station smog. Richmond Smog provides Efficient, great service & smog price. Thank you Richmond Smog!!! We are repeat customers

Came in yesterday afternoon with no appointment! The guy there was very thorough (Hugo I think), took about 25min and I was back on the road. Price 84.00 for a older model Honda accord. I wish I would have checked Yelp sooner because I could have saved 25.00, oh well next time. read more

Great service, friendly staff & very quick smog check. I highly recommend! I called a few minutes before showing up to make sure they are Star Certified, which they are. There was no line around 10am on a Tuesday. I was in and out in 15 minutes! Make sure to check their website for a $20 off coupon. It has to be presented before you fill out the paperwork and before the service starts. read more

Went here for a Quick Smog job . Not a long wait quick rotation. It was a good price for the smog.

Smog. This place is fast and efficient. I always come here and I recommended. Thanks for your work.

Great service and fast. There was one person before me, but was still in and out in under 30 mins. Reasonable price and Hugo was very friendly and easy-going. read more

This place is reliable. It's a small space and a one-man operation. He accepts Apple Pay and other touchless card payments. In recent years my tests have all been on Hybrids, so it's basically hooking up a computer, checking under the car to look at the Catalytic Converter and checking a few more things under the hood. Don't forget to check in here on Yelp and get your discount. And don't forget word of mouth. He's a good guy, so tell your friends Richmond Smog when they're looking for a legit Smog Test place. read more

Fast, competent, friendly. Call ahead to make sure he's open as it's a one-man shop and he might leave for lunch or something. His website was down this week (hosting provider issue) and he was away when I stopped by yesterday so I worried that he was out of business but he was there today and finished my car lickety split, giving me the web discount for telling him about the issue. I've been going here for 5 years with multiple vehicles and the service is always great. The garage is in the back of the strip mall, so from I-80, go down McBryde past San Pablo Avenue and turn right into the alley behind the building. He's right where the rear parking lot opens up into two rows of spaces. If he's working on another customer's car, just park there, as there's always space in the rear of the lot. read more

Went on MLK Day in the morning. I was in and out in like 15 minutes. Reasonable price which was made even better by the $20 teacher discount. Any school employee such as counselors or janitors can also get that discount. Nice guy. His wife is a teacher so we had some things to talk about. Highly recommend. read more

Quick, efficient, friendly and professional. Was able to get inspection without waiting and no appointment. Great service. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Richmond smog. The owner Hugo is knowledgeable, courteous, timely and responsive. I brought my car today and within 15 minutes, it was done. This is the third time I get excellent customer service. I wouldn't take my auto anywhere else. Amazing service!!! read more

Definitely best place to go and do your smog. Since the first day i came to this place, the people on the shop treats you good and don't have you waiting like other places. So happy I found this place. I will definitely be back if I ever need another smog test. In the meanwhile, I intend to point my friends and neighbors in the direction of Richmond Smog. Although I usually do a fair amount of research on all available service providers before selecting one, I followed my gut with Richmond Smog, picked them right off the bat, and my instincts were right. Hugo answered the phone promptly. He readily quoted me a price over the phone, speaking clearly and in a friendly voice. No grumbling, mumbling, or terse responses. No digging for information. BTW -- I was bracing myself for a much higher price and was pleasantly surprised to learn that Richmond Smog was charging what I paid the last time I got a car smog-tested...about 9 years ago: $69 for both the test AND the certificate. I arrived at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon and was taken right away. His garage is small (accommodates one vehicle at a time) but very clean. The entire process took ~10 minutes -- so I barely had time to walk around and check out the neighborhood. The results were filed with DMV electronically, I was given a hard copy of the intake paperwork and the test results, and Hugo presented his iPad so I could type in my email address to receive a copy of the sales receipt. It was a seamless and satisfying experience from the first moments of my telephone inquiry phone call to the goodbye. read more

Service was quick and easy. About 20 minute wait. Original price was almost $100!!! Bbbuuuuuuuut! Check in to save $25, and then you might also get a manager's special discount, bringing it down about another $20. It's the same shit as other places but service was great. Recommended most def if smog is at a discount. Peace. read more

Excellent customer service!!!! When I arrived to Richmond Smog the owner Hugo informed me that he was having computer trouble and asked if I would be able to wait. I happily waited about 10 mostly because an O'Reilly Auto Parts delivery truck was blocking me from entering the Smog shop. I wasn't in a rush. Hugo generously offered me a discount for being patient and even honored the Yelp check in coupon! The regular smog price is reasonable even without the discounts. I would definitely recommend this place to others. read more
