An absolute GEM of an auto repair shop! My car threw a red battery light on the dashboard before I left for work. I called 4 shops and they all had 3-7 day waiting lists. I needed my car diagnosed and fixed today, Accutech came to the rescue. I was on the phone with Irma, she was a pleasure to speak with while sorting out what I needed done. She confirmed they could diagnose the car and fix it today if I brought it in within the next few hours. I brought the car in around 9am, they confirmed my suspicion on what needed to be done, they got the part delivered to them by 1030am, then started working on the car and I picked it up by 2pm. They go to lunch from 12:30-1:30 (I think) so I'm assuming the car was done prior to lunch and they just wrapped up after they got back from lunch. The price for the repair was super reasonable! Compared to other shop quotes, this was a no brainer. The shop has been family owned for the past 30 years. They've gained a new customer(s) out of my wife and I. Wow! What a pleasant experience. There's always something about going into an auto shop that I dread. Before going in for the first time, I called them to see if they had any same day availability for a smog check and I also read through both recent Google and Yelp reviews and all were positive so I gave this place a shot. And I'm glad I did! I called in around 2:45pm and made an appointment for 3:30pm that same day. I found the location with ease and pulled up to the parking lot. That only thing I noticed was that almost all of the parking spots were taken in their lot, but I did manage to find one lucky spot right in front of the entrance. This Pinole area seems relatively safe and I didn't feel anxious leaving my car parked outside. When I went in, I was instantly greeted with a smile and the place was very tidy and clean. Big windows with healthy looking plants all around. I checked in at the counter, filled out a form since it was my first time, and then sat in the waiting area. I was quoted about 20-30mins and my car ended up being ready definitely within 20mins. It was super quick. I checked out at the counter and chatted with the front desk person a bit about next steps with my smog check and car registration renewal. She was super friendly and informative. Excellent customer service. The smog check pricing was also comparable to other places nearby that I had called. Will keep this place in mind the next time I need some car work done! read more

I came in to get a smog for vehicle and it went went, however they reminded me of several items that I either forgot about or put off during 2024. I usually take my car to the dealership, however since my long time service advisor and her mechanics left the service has gone downhill. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 -- David helped me out and was awesome. ----------------------- Arrived at 2:25. Appointment was for 3pm. No one's here, just me. They had me fill out a sheet asking for my name, address, and phone number. While waiting for Hung to input my info into their system, this other guy, didn't get his name, started cracking jokes saying they only do smogs on the 5th Friday of each month. I was like uhhhh....then he said I'm just messing with you. Then Hung had me sign a sheet that showed $59.99 for the smog test. I asked if I could apply the coupon that I saw on their website for $10 off and he kind of just mumbled some words and said just sign. So I signed. Then he got my keys and moved my car into the garage at 2:32. He finished up the smog test and parked my car in the finished area at 2:51 which was a lot faster than I expected. $10 discount applied by nice lady, 3pm I was out of there. read more

My car had a junk cat converter due to damage of attempted theft consequently failed smog test. Amanda at the front office worked with my insurance to manage the process from cost of ordering parts to scheduling and assigning the mechanic on hand and importantly communicating thoroughly from beginning to end. In the middle of a busy work day, my front left Axel breaks. I heard about Accutech through my Networking group so I was comfortable making the call. I called Accutech Auto Care. The owner Mr. Booze, picked up my call and was happy to assist. We towed my car to his shop in Pinole and he did a free diagnostics. I brought my car in last Wednesday and he said it wouldn't be ready until the following Monday. I needed break pads and some other crucial work done. I found his his staff to be professional and caring. They even covered the Lyft ride to my home, which was unexpected. He calls me on Friday to tell me that my car would be ready that afternoon! Which save me the hassle of finding temporary transportation. When I picked up my car, it looked brand new because he got it washed. They really go above and beyond. The receptionist went over every item on the work order to make me feel comfortable about the work performed and the future work that needs to be done. I called here yesterday to see pricing and appointment availability for a smog test. Very reasonably priced at 69$ for smog with certification included . They also sent it into the DMV for me . Great customer service. Called in to get pricing and asked for a good time to come in. They said it was slow so I came in mid morning on a Friday. Reco was very helpful and friendly. Used the yelp deal for an oil and filter change, break inspection, tire inspection, etc. for about $30. They had a comfortable waiting area, very nice, clean, and updated restroom, and a plaza next door with a subway, some restaurants, and a dollar store to kill time at. I took a used car in for inspection and they quoted me $85. When i got there the price changed to $60 which seemed nice. Then after waiting an hour and a half they simply said i was told the wrong information and jacked up the price to $140. It felt really bait-and-switchy so i left. However they were nice enough to provide me the diagnostic codes they DID check before going through full inspection at no charge which was the main reason for my 2 star rating. Im sure they are fine mechanics who do good work but they need to be much more transparent and not quote 3 different prices for the same inspection in the same day. read more

I went here to get a smog certificate and received way more than that. There was no early morning line which was great because I was in a rush. Unfortunately the technicians were not. They stood around talking to each other more than the customers. Once I finally received service, I was greeted. by the manager himself. Once the work began, the manager's viewpoints on every political and social topic known to man came billowing out like my emissions. Highly inappropriate! Whether I agreed with them or not is irrelevant. The fact is that if someone wants to voice their opinion, they should do so with friends, not in a professional setting. Oh, and the car passed smog. Called in for an oil chance price, got an extremely rude guy helping me. Said based price was 58 , but we won't know exact price until you bring the car in because of the different types of car models. I asked can I just tell you the car specs & model over the phone so you can just give me a price like how all of the other auto shops do it. I don't want to go down there to find out the price and waste my time. Do it over the damm phone.. It anit that hard to look up my car model and tell me right away. I was up at AAA at Hilltop; late on my registration. When I paid my fee, they told me I needed a smog to get a sticker. Damn! My old place on San Pablo Dam Road had closed down... What to do? Pull out the Yelp app and try to figure it out. Found Accutech. It was close and the reviews seemed decent. Rico was behind the desk, a nice chatty guy. He said that although there were two cars ahead of me they could have it done in an hour. I was expecting that estimate to go long, but it didn't. 50 minutes later I had my documents in hand. When visiting my mother-in-law, I found that her 2012 Tucson was overdue for routine maintenance. As this is probably going to remain her daily driver for a while, we decided it would be a good idea to establish a relationship with a reputable shop in the area who could take care of mom even when we were not in town. A friend of the family had recommended AccuTech in Pinole. Even though it was a little bit of a drive, it proved to be worth it. David, the service manager, took the car in and was able to quickly identify the necessary maintenance from the service schedule. Further, he did not recommend anything unnecessary and I felt we received excellent value for the price we paid. Additionally, I also like the fact that Kevin, the owner, and his family have all worked in the automotive industry their whole lives. It is nice to be able to support this family run business. I had really high hopes for Accutech.... great location, good Yelp reviews, etc but this place was a complete disappointment. I recently relocated to the Bay Area and was looking for a place to get a smog test done on my mothers car and Accutech was one of the highest rated places so I thought I'd give it a shot. Called ahead but no one answered. Figured they were all working on cars or had a line of customers in front of them and they couldn't answer the phone... I totally get that. So I decided to go there and see if they could help me. Reco was the gentleman at the counter when I walked in. Didn't acknowledge me at all, not even a look my way which I would have accepted as acknowledgement. Reco was in the middle of an extremely heated and passionate "argument" regarding religious beliefs with another man. I use the term argument loosely due to the fact of there not being an actual disagreement between the two parties. This very loud and boisterous conversation had been going on for some time before I walked in and continued on for another 15 minutes... I wouldn't have waited so long but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and stayed out of hope the situation would resolve. All the while I'm standing patiently behind and attempting to strike any sort of eye contact with Reco. He never ONCE looked my way or stopped his conversation to say anything to me. Eventually, the customer he was with left. Reco then proceeded to tell me that his shop was closed for lunch and no one would be able to help me until another 30 minutes. He said he typically locks the doors when the lunch hour happens so people won't come in but didn't do it on this particular day. THIS IS NOT PROBLEM, I'M EXTREMELY GLAD THEY ALL GET AN HOUR BREAK. I work a labor intensive job myself and breaks are greatly deserved! Also, no problem at all with forgetting or not being able to lock the doors! The problem is he wasted my TIME by continuing to argue loudly with this other customer. It would have taken TWO SECONDS. LITERALLY TWO to say "Hey! We're closed for lunch, we're back on at 2pm. Come back." But no... I stood there to give these guys any chance at all to take my money and help me out. Grossly disappointed. I went out to the parking lot and dialed El Sobrante Smog and Auto Repair. Asked them if they had time to do a smog test, they said yes and I sped over there. Those guys got me IN AND OUT with a full smog test and certification in LESS time than I took over at Accutech. INCREDIBLY FAST, INFORMATIVE, PROFESSIONAL GENTLEMEN. Summary- Don't waste your time, go to EL SOBRANTE SMOG AND AUTO REPAIR! They now have a customer for LIFE whereas Accutech lost an entire family and friend network of cars to make money on! In all truth, God bless you, Reco. I was happy to see a man so righteous in his faith. I don't wish any ill upon you but PLEASE don't make this mistake again.. I'm a very kind and patient person but this incident had me fuming. All the best. read more
