This past summer, it was discovered that we had a bald-faced hornet nest on the side of our house. Not ideal, to say the least lol. A quick Google search and Yelp search rendered that Prodigy Pest Solutions was the way forward. Unfortunately for me, this discovery of mine occurred on the evening of July 3rd, so it took me a while to get someone out to take care of it, but Prodigy came as quick as they could. They also said that bald-faced hornets were some of the more aggressive hornets out there, so to be careful around them. Given everything, it was a terrific service. Decent value for what they do. I am compelled to write a review because of the service I receive from this company. I was not sent an email soliciting a review. I think this is important. From the staff on the phone to the 3 or 4 technicians that have come over, I have had a truly outstanding experience with Prodigy Pest Solutions over the last 4 years. I had mice in 2020. They came, sealed holes and set traps and put stuff down always trying to keep my pets safe. 4 years later, still no mice and no evidence of mice. I have had silver fish and threats of other pests. They always have an appointment for me in a reasonable time. Every technician that comes, calls 30 minutes before and is always on time. They have been polite and efficient and answered my questions every single time. I had evidence of termites. Both the staff on the phone and Matt when he's come to check things out has offered me the most cost saving solution--he suggests not charging me for unnecessary treatments unless there is evidence of an active problem (both times there was no activity). I feel confident that I am getting trustworthy advice and have never had the problem grow. I find this company reasonably priced. I pay for them to come out. I also have them on a quarterly retainer where I pay for a quarterly pest inspection and prevention. There's no one else I would call. I trust them and that trust is from my experience with them. I had been noticing what seemed like hundreds of giant black flies around my house and they appeared to be coming from my basement. I messaged Prodigy using Yelp and heard from the owner Matt right away. He was very professional, friendly and knowledgable, and offered to come out the next morning to do a complimentary inspection. He explained that once they took a look around, they would quote me if they were able to help, and would do the job on the spot. I received a call from Sabrina to confirm that Quincy would be coming out at 7am the next morning, and explained she would invoice me if there were any chargers. Sabrina was incredibly sweet and helpful, and was able to explain the process to me and answer all of my questions. Quincy arrived on time the next morning and was very professional. He looked around my home and in my basement, and was able to confirm the presence of many, many cluster flies coming from my basement. He was able to spray down my entire basement, which he said would kill any living flies and hopefully any remaining eggs. He was efficient and thorough, yet it only took him about 30 min. He said he would check in Monday and come back out if I noticed any more activity. That same afternoon Sabrina called to check in and see how it went. She reiterated that they would check in after the weekend and come back out if I had any more issues. It has only been about 24 hrs, and all the flies are gone. Could not be happier that we chose Prodigy for (what we thought might be) a termite issue. We have a pretty big Norway maple out front of our 120-year-old house and on Labor Day weekend after doing some work to clear climbing ivy away from the trunk, we saw what we believed might be termites running up and down the tree. Not only did they have glowing reviews, but they also specialize in heat treatment for bed bugs, which is exactly what I was looking for. The very next day the owner himself was there at 8 a.m. promptly, and the inspection was quick, courteous and professional. We were able to schedule service for a few days, and Sabrina at the office was amazing at walking me through the process and answering all of my questions, no matter how stupid, and was never anything less than polite and accommodating. She even graciously answered texts after hours and the morning of as I scrambled to prepare everything. THAT is how you do customer service. The treatment itself took all day, but Prodigy kept in touch with me throughout, and let me know promptly when it was done and when I'd be able to get back in the house. In May, 2012, my boyfriend and I began receiving strange bites while sleeping in our bedroom. We thought it might be mosquitoes and used some hardware store pest products to try to take care of the problem. The bites continued, with us getting at least one bite every other night, always on uncovered parts of our bodies, including our faces. Most often the bites were in clusters, were intensely itchy and caused painful swelling. We did some Googling, and started worrying about bedbugs. We inspected our mattress for the telltale signs like blood spots, bugs in the seams, etc., and found nothing. An exterminator came out (arriving two hours late) and also found nothing, but did a 'general spray.' Things were better for about two weeks, then the bites began again. We eventually did find a live a bug on the night stand and captured it with clear tape. An interweb image search revealed that it was definitely a bedbug. We freaked out. BEDBUGS. It was a relief to finally know what was happening, but it also brought up a lot of questions. Where did they come from? Why us? Once you get bedbugs, you have to burn down your house and move away, right? The exterminator came back (again, late) to do an official, guaranteed 'bedbug treatment,' which consisted of spraying chemicals and sprinkling dust everywhere. After the 'bedbug treatment,' things were OK for a few weeks, then we started getting bitten again. Frustrated (and itchy), we looked into extermination alternatives and discovered heat treatment, where the entire house is heated to an extreme temperature for several hours, killing all stages of the bedbug life cycle. After a few days of back-and-forth with the neighbors, Matt and Prodigy heated our house for a third time (a record, apparently), as well as heating the neighbors' house on the same day. A few weeks after the third heat treatment, we began receiving bites again. Once again, Matt and Prodigy came out, this time to steam and spray in the hopes that it was just a rogue bug that somehow survived the bugpocalypse next door. I want to hug everyone that works at Prodigy. Last November I found what I believed to be a bed bug infestation. I hired an exterminator to do chemical treatment. Unfortunately, this exterminator was not knowledgable enough to tell us what Prodigy figured out in 5 minutes. Last year, my roommate and I had a bed bug problem in our apartment and I basically lost my mind (stay away from the internet message boards, you guys). Matt was absolutely wonderful. I'm a property manager and one of my tenants suspected they had bed bugs. Of course I want to take care of this asap before they spread to other apartments. I called prodigy and spoke with Sabrina, the bedbug specialist. She was SO comforting and reassuring AND knowledgeable about bed bugs. She spent a while with me on the phone asking questions and giving tips for a visual inspection. She sent someone within a few days to do a professional inspection and found a small area near the bed with bed bugs and droppings (ewww!). We set up a heat treatment ASAP and have not found any bugs since (its been about a month - Ill keep you posted). Phew! It was pricey, (and seems to be pricey with every pest control company) but so worth it! From what I've heard, the heat treatment is the best way to eradicate bed bugs AND their eggs. A few weeks after moving into a new apartment, I was concerned I might be having a bed bug or some kind of pest issue so I took pictures of the two separate species. I recently had an outbreak of bed bugs at my office and was worried that I may have taken them home with me. I got on the phone and dialed a few companies and landed on Prodigy Pest Solutions. This review is months late because I've since moved from Philadelphia, but randomly out of nowhere, I had experienced a HORRIBLE German roach infestation in my apartment. I'm very happy with Prodigy, because they ultimately did what I asked, which was to rid me of my mouse problem. It was quite bad, I was hearing them in the ceiling above my living room and dining room constantly, I don't even want to imagine how many were up there. I had Terminix out and they sent out some guy with very little experience who just poked around with a flashlight and set up glue traps where he saw droppings. Then Terminix signed me up for a subscription to come back 3 more times in a year to do the same thing. Paying them to do something I could do on my own. I spoke to Matt at Prodigy and explained that I wanted to just get rid of them. He and his associate are both very professional, and they performed an assessment, sealed up some areas where they were getting in and dropped poison in strategic areas. It stank for a while (few days) and it took about three trips for the noises to dissipate, but they seem to be gone. And, the service is guaranteed for up to 60 days so if I hear something else I can call back and they'll return for follow up service. I realize this is a glowing review, so I should mention that there was a minor scheduling snafu before our first appointment, but it was quickly handled without any further issues. I'll take a minor scheduling snafu to have my rodent issue resolved. Thank you Matt and Prodigy! Recently I had a little flea problem that quickly escalated into a full blown flea infestation. I tried to combat it myself with little success. I called a Prodigy competitor that services homes and sells professional supplies for the do-it-yourselfer. I tried myself again with the professional products and still had little success. Then i decided it was time to hire someone. I made a couple phone calls. One call to Prodigy and one call to the competitor. Unfortunately I contacted the competitor first. I will not say they did a bad job however I felt a little lost and alone and still with fleas. Enter Prodigy. In a total panic and not happy with the results of the competitor, I sent an email to Prodigy on a Saturday while they were closed. To my pleasent surprise I received a text message from Matt several hours later, basically telling me that he could help and would call me tomorrow. I was very happy that he took time during his off hours to contact me. The next day I received a call from Sabrina. She spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with me reviewing what treatments I had already done and giving me advice on what to expect and how to manage the problem until they are all gone. I was so comforted to speak with someone about the problem, I was crawling out of my skin with anxiety over it and now I was feeling better. Get this part. I had not hired Prodigy, they were helping me and advising me and I was not even their customer. She told me to allow some time for all of the treatments I used to work, she stated that perhaps I may not need to hire them yet and I should wait to see if my treatments worked (nothing works overnight) The price for their treatment is very reasonable and I wish I had hired them first but now if my treatments do not work, at least I know where to turn first.
