This is going to be a longish review but if you are seriously thinking about using this company, please take the time to read it. I researched a lot of companies and since the reviews for Pro100 was mixed, I was a little leery. However, my contact with them was professional and since money was an issue and their rates were very good, I crossed my fingers and went with it. They were scheduled to arrive 8-8:30 and called me at 8:30 apologizing because they had tried me at my work number first. My fault, not theirs. They were at my door at 8:35 and ready to start. Even as one of the gentlemen started going through the paperwork with me, the other two wasted no time in grabbing boxes. I moved a 1 bedroom plus study. They had the truck loaded in 50 minutes. I was wowed. We all headed out at the same time - me to turn in my keys and them to hit the road. I took care of my business and got on the road. I passed them and hoped to get the keys to my new place before they arrived. When I arrived at my new apartment complex, I was told that the apartment would not be ready for 2 hours! WTH?? In the meantime, Pro100 arrived and called me. I explained the situation to them, at a loss on what to do. They could not wait as they had another job to go to. The lead mover (I wish I had written down their names because they were wonderful and deserve many personal kudos) came up with the solution: they would unload everything into the hallway and the office could possibly send another crew to take things into the apartment when it was ready. Of course, this would cost extra but that was not due to anything they had done. Fortunately, my new complex agreed to compensate me for the extra cost. They quickly unloaded the truck. The total move took 3 hours and that included a 45 minute drive to the new location and the new apartment on the 3rd floor. I called the office and spoke with Kate (who, by the way, is very professional and personable) and she was aware of the situation. I told her the apartment would be ready and could they send someone in 2 hours. She said she would call me back in 5 minutes. She did so and told me they could send a 2 man crew in the time frame requested. Normally they charge a minimum of 2 hours for just labor at $90/hour but since they already did the other part of my move, they discounted it. I am reluctant to say how much because I don't want to back them into any corner to offer similar discounts. As professional and considerate as these folks were to me, I could not do that to them. Let's just say it was a very satisfying discount. The two movers arrived at the time requested and got everything moved inside and in the proper rooms within 45 minutes. Again, these gentlemen were professional, kind and FAST. Since I was paying for 2 hours and they were done quickly, they kept offering to do more things: assemble and move furniture, removing packing materials, etc. There really was not that much to do since they were so efficient to start with so I let them go. I don't know who the people with the negative reviews dealt with but everyone I dealt with at Pro100 was professional, understanding, kind and efficient. They made what could have been a nightmare into an almost pleasant experience -- if moving could ever be considered pleasant. I left my previous apartment because of a home invasion so this move was stressful from the get-go. How wonderful that I came across movers who took such good care of me. If you are unsure of who you will use, I HIGHLY recommend Pro100. If I could give 10 stars, I would. I know they say "you get what you pay for" but I got much, much more than what I paid for. God, I hope I don't have to move again for a very long time but if I do, I won't even consider another mover. These are my go-to guys from here on out and I'll recommend them to anyone who asks. We used Pro100 Movers for our local move in Bethesda the last Saturday of April 2013. I would not recommend this moving company to a friend. Our situation: Moving out of 3 bedroom house with basement and 1 car garage in Bethesda into a larger house about 0.3 miles away. Same neighborhood, literally 3 blocks. We had everything packed in boxes. EVERYTHING. The movers actually commented on how they had never seen people so prepared. I contacted Al a few weeks in advance and booked our move for 7am on Saturday morning. After describing our home and stuff, he recommended 3 guys. I said I would prefer 4 since it's a lot of stuff and we would rather pay a higher hourly rate and get done faster. Obviously we requested the largest truck they have (I think 24'). And I also requested that the movers disassemble and reassemble the furniture. Al said no problem. The day before when confirming Al said the crew wouldn't be there until 8am, because of the time it would take them to ride the metro to get the truck and show up. I wasn't thrilled about this, but okay. Not sure why this was something figured out the day before rather than 3 weeks prior. Moving day: A little after 8am, I got a call from one of the movers saying he was in front of my house. I said "No, you are not. I'm in front of my house. And you are not here." After going back and forth a few times arguing about whether or not he was in fact at my house, we determined he was one street south and directed him to the correct location. Out of the truck came 3 movers, NOT the 4 I had requested. I pointed this out. Oh, he was sick. Felt like a lie, but not much I could do about it. They let me know I'd be charged a lower rate since only 3 movers. I again said, well, it's a lot of stuff. I just thought 4 would be much better. Sigh - nothing I could do. These guys were nice guys just trying to make an honest living, but they were NOT professional movers. The website definitely said uniformed professionals, No. Not uniformed. Not professional movers. Like a previous review said, lots of hiking up of too baggy pants. Not really properly attired. And slow. Very slow. And lacking a plan or leadership. Professional movers use a hand cart and in every trip from house to truck have a full load, i.e. a hand cart with 3-4 boxes on it. These guys would carry one box at a time. I even saw one guy make a trip from truck to house with one folding metal chair. ONE folding metal chair! Very quickly my husband determined these guys needed "a platoon leader" otherwise this was going to take all day. So he ended up being the 4th mover. And in reality probably did about half of the moving (Not one-quarter as you might think.) I was pregnant with twins and trying not to lift stuff, o/w I likely would have been the fifth. It took 3 trips back and forth between the two houses with the truck, in part I think because it was not expertly packed. For us moving 3 blocks this wasn't such a big deal, but I can't imagine how much it would have added to the time and cost had our move been a bit further. Getting a rather heavy safe upstairs into the new house was a bit exciting. The 3 movers started to do it, without using any straps or equipment. They started to drop it, we were worried someone was going to lose a toe. My husband basically had to step in and take charge. He grabbed the strap, had the strongest of the three assist him, and basically the two (my husband and the strongest) got it upstairs with my husband doing the bulk of it. Once everything was unloaded into the new house, it took a great deal of baby-sitting to get the furniture re-assembled. Essentially my husband took one of the guys and I took the other 2 and monitored and directed their every movement to make sure the furniture got re-assembled properly. If I didn't micromanage, they would just stand there. "Okay, now let's put together the dining room table, that's done, let's do the bed." Etc, you couldn't just say "re-assemble all the furniture" and expect it to happen. I'm a white-collar DC urbanite with not much work-with-my-hands expertise, but thank goodness I was there supervising, because these guys were putting bolts and table legs backwards, etc. All in all, it took over 8 hours. We bought them lunch, provided drinks, and tipped well, because they seemed earnest and honest. Just were not professionals and lacked initiative. In the end, I guess the lesson learned is you get what you pay for. These rates were much less than some of the other moving companies. Also, I have to say that none of our furniture was damaged. There were no holes in the walls, so that's good. We paid cash to get a 5% discount on the price, rather than credit card. I wouldn't use them again. And wouldn't recommend Pro100Movers. read more

Outstanding! I had a hard local move and yet they managed to finish in 4 hours! The free rental moving blankets made the packing supplies very low cost. They work hard and are cheap. I would advise their truck seems old and is due for a tune up, local moves are probably best. read more

I have used Pro100 movers twice. The service is rapid and excellent. From requesting a quote, to signing a contract, and finally executing your move, this company is efficient and commendable. This describes my most recent experience: I was moving from MD to PA, a distance of about 80 miles. I was moving from a townhouse to an apartment, and needed the movers to store some of my things as part of the move. Initial call: I made a call about 3 days from my move - my move was unbelievably last minute. It was Sunday, and I requested a Tuesday or Wednesday move. They estimated availability for a crew on Wednesday and asked me to fill out the request online. Quote: I went online to input my request. The process took about 30 minutes, as I was as detailed as possible about how much I was moving, including dimensions. A quote was returned to me within 6 hours. Contract: I accepted the quote minutes after it was sent to me. No more than three hours later, I had a contract to e-sign. The contract is straightforward. Move: My two-man crew was to show up between 9-10am. They called at 8:50am on move day to let me know they'd arrive within a half-hour. Their arrival was prompt. I showed the guys what they'd be moving. I had tried to separate things according to where they'd be moved to: some things were going to storage, the rest to my new home. The crew didn't bat an eye, and followed up as necessary to make sure items were loaded properly to make it to their intended destination. The men worked quickly. They wrapped and packed a few items that I had not had time to box (and made sure to know where the leftovers were headed before doing so). They handled my furniture very professionally, inspecting it, wrapping it, and moving it to prevent damage to the furniture and to the premises. I tried to keep them hydrated and moving with water and snacks. (I offered pizza, but they insisted they'd acquire their own [healthy] lunch). The movers made the first stop at my storage unit and unloaded the items to be stored without any trouble. They stacked / stored items in storage very efficiently - I have space leftover because they stacked things so well. I had them meet someone at my final destination to unload the remainder of my things. They unloaded everything perfectly, and they reassembled the furniture they had taken apart. Both times, Pro100 beat the quotes of other moving companies BY FAR. There were no hidden fees. The only con is the cost of using their packing materials as necessary - boxes can be quite pricey, but I still paid between $500 and $2,500 less than their competitors, and the service was exceptional. I'd highly recommend Pro100 for your next move. After this experience, and having heard horror stories about other companies, I hope Pro100 is available for me next time I need them. read more

First time using movers as I've always done it myself. Researched a lot and went with Pro100. Incredibly responsive both when searching for a quote and before the move, especially considering I booked them only 2 days prior. Day of, they arrived early, very friendly and professional. Took great care of my furniture. Couch didn't fit in elevator of new apartment and they hauled it up 5 flights of stairs. Move from North Bethesda to Dupont Circle took a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes, with loading and unloading. Total cost: $260. Outstanding service! They claim "Peace, Respect, Positive vibes and handling with care!" and they make it reality! This was my first experience with movers and I was very concerned; all my friends were saying that there are no good movers. However, Pro100movers proved my friends wrong. They arrived sharp on time, asked me to show what exactly do I want them to move and got started immediately. They were working very fast with only a few very short (2- 5 min) breaks; wrapped all my furniture very fast and with great care. They were acting very respectfully and loaded the track in no time. Seeing all the good reviews and coming from the recommendation of a friend, I was really surprised/disappointed to have such a bad experience. However, my move went like this: 1. Damaged several of my items (see just a few in pics below) 2. Moving truck hit a parked car and damaged it in parking lot 3. Charged me $351 total. Very reasonable. I paid in cash. 10 minutes later I get a knock at my door and the mover told me he accidentally charged me the rate of the other moving company he worked for, and that I actually owed $511 total!! Obviously I was not happy knowing I could have received the exact same service (which wasn't even good but got the job done) for over $150 cheaper. The mover even stated, "yeah its the exact same job, but my other company charges a lot less." Of course, he wouldn't give me the name of the other company he worked for... 4. $91 was for bubble wrap and tape alone, even though I had my own tape. They ran out and used some of their own rolls, but I found the tape rolls lying around afterwards and many of them were only half-way used! At $4.50 a roll they wasted a lot of my money. I'm also really glad I spent $40 on bubble wrap when several of my fragile items/picture were completely ruined. 5. Charged me $9 for a picture box that wasn't used Bottom line - will never use again and will warn others to stay away. read more

Very professional. I had everything in the house but for the sofa, television and cabinets boxed and ready to be moved. Pro-movers helped us with dismantling, packing our beds, Sofa sets, television and cabinets. We moved to a new place 20 miles away from a one bedroom to a 3 bedroom home. Everything including packing, moving, driving and unloading took them about 4 hours (which we had anticipated). The guys helped keep the boxes and items on intended levels (basement, level 1 and level 2) in our new home. I'd highly recommend this service. I used Pro100 Movers to move a one bedroom apartment long distance from Baltimore, MD to Philadelphia, PA. I packed up all my stuff ahead of time, and the only thing they had to wrap was my mattress. I don't have anything fancy or particularly nice furniture so I did not opt to have everything wrapped, but if you do, I'd recommend doing it yourself as this service did not include packing materials in their price quote. The company was punctual and called 30 minutes before arrival, and everything was accomplished in a timely and efficient manner. It took them about an hour to load the truck, and with transport and unloading/putting together the furniture at the arrival location, all in all it was about a 5 hour move which ended up costing ~$650. Very affordable for a long distance move, and I would highly recommend using this service! read more

When i used these guys i thought they werent too bad. because i have heard very bad reviews on other companies being slow. They moved me out of an apartment with ALOT of help from my husband and father. my husband even helped carry the couch, which pissed me off because that was the point of the movers. They moved me into a storage unit, this (with the help) took them four hours. One of those hours was spent just to put my crap into storage (a 10X10). I used another company to move out of the storage unit into my new place, had them set up my bed and dresser and it only took them two hours. Nobody helped them just the two guys. This same company moved my friend out of his house (including wrapping the furniture) and into the next house with absolutely NO help and did it within five hours. So if my friends place (who has a lot of furniture) only took five hours there was no reason my move should have taken four hours. I said all of that to say. the company isnt bad (which is why they have the two stars)because at least they were on time and friendly (even though they argued with each other) but they arent that good either. i wouldnt recommend them to people I know now that i have experience an excellent company, elsewhere. I wasnt upset with their service, i actually thought it was ok (a little slow) until i experienced better. Oh and they give a 5% discount if you pay cash. Hope this helps. read more

I have to say that these were, by far, the cheapest and most efficient movers I have ever experienced. We anticipated the move from Gaithersburg to Bethesda, from a 1 bdrm condo to a 2 bdrm condo would take around 6 hours or so with the rush hour traffic. Not the case here!! These guys, Serge and Anton, showed up on time and went straight to work. They took their time not to scratch any walls or doors and wrapped the furniture with care. They cleared the 1bdrm in Gaithersburg in just under 2 hours and the move into the 2bdrm in Bethesda only took Serge and Anton just under 2 hours. After they were done with everything they were packing up to leave they announced the price and we were floored!! Under $400... including the tip. No damage to furniture, the walls, doors, nor the banister. I highly recommend Pro100Movers. Our experience was Awesome!! We'll be calling them for our next move. read more

Bad experience. First of all, their requirements for payment are strange - choose credit card and pay 3% surcharge. Pay by check at both ends or cash. Second, had an estimate, was talking w them by email about when/how etc, then out of the blue I was told they couldn't do my move after all since one of their trucks was in an accident. Move was 2 weeks away, and picture of the 'wrecked' truck just showed a dislodged front bumper. I didn't know what to think except they weren't reliable as the references had said. read more

I moved this past Saturday and I had a really great experience with this company. I was scheduled between 2-3pm. Because it was an afternoon move, I figured the timing was a little bit out of the movers' hands and there was a good possibility they would be late. They did end up being about half an hour late, but they called between 2-3pm to let me know, and I really really appreciated that, very professional. I had two movers. I cannot remember their names now, but they were so nice, polite, accommodating, and efficient. It took them about 2 seconds to put my bed together at my destination. They tightened the arm on my chair without me even having to ask (I had intended to ask). They moved some really heavy furniture, were careful with all my belongings, and were very considerate of where I wanted everything placed upon arrival. They were available on the day I needed to move (with very short notice), the price quote was reasonable, the contract was easy to understand and was delivered to my inbox shortly after I got off the phone with them. On the day of the move, the team of 4 guys (Daniel, Chris, Joe, and Eric) moved our belongings quickly, carefully, and efficiently. It rained during the 2 hours they were moving us, but they had great attitudes throughout. About two months ago, my husband and I moved from Washington D.C. to Grand Rapids, Michigan and we booked these guys. They were amazing, and incredibly professional with the big job that moving us across several states was. They were super fair on the amount that they charged. I received quotes from other movers in the area, and their rate was hands-down the more reasonable. They even brought boxes and packed and unpacked our things (with the appropriate amount of bubble wrap and packing peanuts, I might add). (: When I booked these movers, I was expecting a bunch of unprofessional college/ high school kids that were going to disrespect and not be careful with our furniture and keepsakes. The people at Pro100movers were amazing! I had an absolutely terrible experience with another company for this same move (short version, don't hire a broker), and was left with a house full of boxes and no way to move. Cue frantic googling, and Pro100 worked with me on a Sunday to make my move happen that coming week (pickup in Maryland on Monday, delivery to Tennessee on Wednesday). Kate was who I texted and emailed with on that Sunday to get things set up, and she was super professional and helpful and answered every question within minutes. She was also very reassuring, which was great and much appreciated. On moving day, 3 guys showed up as contracted (CJ as leader). They were nice, polite, efficient, and very careful with my stuff. They moved much quicker than expected, made absolutely no complaints about how heavy items were, and took furniture apart easily and respectfully. I had a second pickup location, and they were exactly the same there. Two guys made the drive to TN and showed up within their scheduled time frame on Wednesday for delivery. They'd also texted me that morning to let me know their ETA. CJ was again the leader. They unpacked the truck even quicker than they'd loaded it (both times they came in either exactly at or faster than the estimated time in the contract) and put furniture together with no problems. They were even willing, and I appreciated this a lot, to move furniture around within a room if I changed my mind about where I wanted things to be. Everyone I worked with at Pro100 was nice, polite, respectful, super helpful, and seemed to be really good at their job. They were even willing to engage me in conversation and joke around a little bit, which I liked--working with people handling all of your stuff, it was nice to get to know them, even a little bit. It was so refreshing to be quoted a price and then to actually pay less than that quote (5% off for paying in cash!). Nothing was broken or damaged in any way (minor miracle). We moved 2.5 hours away and the experience was excellent. The movers showed up and completed a large move without complaint (about two hours loading and later unloading). They were efficient and squeezed everything in the truck with no room to spare. The office staff was courteous and flexible with us. Was a little skeptical about the company given the uneven reviews on Yelp. However, they were by far the cheapest so I said a prayer and booked them. WOW! They were fantastic. The team showed up exactly on time, ready to go, and brought everything needed (pads, wrapping tape, trolleys, etc) for the move. Chris and Antoine were friendly and courteous, and very professional. They assessed the items, and immediately began moving stuff in a cohesive manner. In no time at all the apartment was emptied, and we were on our way. This experience was repeated at the storage depot while unloading, and despite the blistering heat and humidity, Chris & Antoine never slowed down. Pros: on-time, friendly, didn't charge extra for an additional stop, quick, inexpensive Cons: none i found Overall: i would definitely use them again. Value for money - and beyond. read more

I was really worried that I did not purchase enough moving time to evacuate a two bedroom condo in Arlington and transport to Washington DC. The company came did not charge me time until they got to the unit and worked straight through without any breaks or pause. In 3 hours time a 3 man crew was able to completely move me to DC including travel. I hope this helps a future movie who may not know how much time to purchase. read more

I see some whining complaints on here about Pro100 movers. Pro100 movers don't take checks because they have been burned. They are a small company. I find them very hard working and efficient. I am a realtor and use them to also move staging materials. They are fast and reasonable in price. I recommend them all the time. Very happy customer!!!! read more
