Hi Chuckert
I work for Pro Sound Service & came across your feedback. Sorry to hear you weren't happy with our service - let me know what problem you had & how you'd like to resolve. I'll mention it to the owner (see I handle our website & it hurts my ratings to have neg feedback, so I'm hoping to resolve). Thanks in advance!

Hey Charles,
I appreciate your concern at my review, sorry it took me so long to get back at you, I didn't realize where my inbox was on this website. Anyway, my real name is %$%$ and I brought a jbl lsr25p powered studio monitor into PSS a few years ago. I'd estimate this to be in 2005. At the time, this one speaker was having serious problems, and the other was not. It's sort of a moot point now, since the other speaker which formerly worked now suffers the same problem and i've moved onto other forms of monitoring in my project studio.
Anyway, i still have the speakers now in storage. What had happened is the repairman (whom I cannot remember the name of right now) took a look at it and said he had to order a new amp from jbl. I told him to go ahead and do it. He said he put in a new amp and tested it an such. I actually didn't have a car at the time so I had to borrow a car to get all the way down there and it unfortunately took me a long time to pick it up.
By the time I got the unit home, it was having the same problems it had when i dropped it off. I called up afterwards and the repairman told me he bench tested the unit and it tested ok. He did not say he fully hooked up the speaker to hear if it works correctly. He told me to come on down to get it checked out again, but I wasnt' able to anytime soon (no car, i lived in waltham). So i just sort of gave up on the situation. I know he probabaly would have been able to do something about it had I gone back, but I feel like i'd wasted enough of my time and money on this thing. Shortly after, the other speaker failed...so..........
I shall see if i still have the service ticket on hand if that means anything.

Hey Matthew, Thanks for getting back to me, I appreciate it.
I completely understand why you were frustrated - I've taken the ride from Waltham down this way & it ain't fun (used to work there & live in Wey, like a prkg lot!). I'm just the webmistress here & think this happened before I started working here. I mentioned your concern with the owner. ..John is our Service Manager that you dealt with - he handles every item that comes thru the door here. He knows his stuff considering we're the only authorized JBL repair station in the area (even Guitar Ctr sends us gear to fix) & we deal with all pro business, bands & fix their gear. John tests all equip before releasing. It is very possible that there are other things causing your problems & John said he offered you opportunity to discuss that with you, but that you didn't follow up (and I understand because I've been w/o car myself).
I'd really appreciate it if you could consider retracting your neg feedback, as this is how we make our living (me as webmistress my main function is trying to get us positive exposure so we can find work & anything negative hurts us). Let me know your thoughts. I look forward to hearing back from you & you're welcome to call me at 877-776-7631 if you want to discuss. Thanks in advance! Jeannine :)

I will totally retract all negative feedback if 1 of 2 things happen:
-My speaker actually gets fixed for real this time. Kinda a moot point since the other one is now junk as well, but what's fair is fair.
OR
-Get get refunded my money for the repair. You guys can have the part back if you want. Or something to that effect.
As it stands, I paid $180 dollars for a repair that wasn't in the least bit effective. That isn't very starry.
BTW, the repair was done outside of warantee, not sure if that information matters. JBL just so happens to have a 4 year warantee on this particular item. And it happened to break almost 4 years later to the day......Nobody but PSS would even touch it. read more
