I have been waiting for this store to open for months!! Neutral athletic/lifestyle clothing. Yes…read moreplease! Open concept that includes a men's wear and women's wear side. Along with clothing, they sell backpacks, duffel bags, and hats. Their quality is top notch and you can feel it in every piece. The best part is that you can get stylish gym clothes and outfits to wear when out running errands! The sales associates are welcoming and I appreciate that they wear the clothing because it gives you an idea of how you can piece outfits together.

As…read moresomeone who enjoys fitness and values health conscious like-minded individuals, I was excited for RYU to be opening up at the Fashion Island location. There are so many athletic and fitness brands out in the word, so I was interested in learning what RYU sets them apart from others. RYU (pronounced as RY for Japanese like the Streetfighter character) focus on urban/fitness clothes so you could potentially wear them in the city running errands. Store space/location/atmosphere. Their location is located nearby Tesla and Lululemon. Upon entering, you'll see that there is men and women section. Clothes are hung on hangers as well as on tables. The store appears smaller than other places but I was surprised that they had quite a selection of tops, bottoms, and accessories (hats, bags, backpacks). I (3/5). Customer Service: Upon entering the store, you'll find employees refolding outfits and having them steamed. That's a personal detailed touch that many other stores don't have. The employees will greet and ask if they could help you, offering their recommendations, and items available. They'll pick up items you're interested in trying and hanging them in the dressing room for you. (5/5) Outfits: I displayed some interest in only about 10% of the total items offered in the store. As I spent about 30 minutes looking at their clothes, I picked up about 5 items to try. My favorites are definitely the henley, hoodie, and tech tanks. Some of the items are offered in unique colors, offers a great feel, and like the materials used. The material used ranges from polyester, recycled polyester, cotton, and spandex made in Taiwan or China. I wasn't excited about some of the China items as they appeared cheaper in materials or appeared so plain and uninteresting. As an individual with a smaller stature, I was disappointed when I picked up the small size pants that didn't fit me and bummed that they didn't have XS sizes. My other option was to try on females, which I chose not to. (2/5) Cost and Ease: $$$ The store is pricey for an average joe, with t-shirts $57, $80 shorts, $125 chino pans, $133 ethos crew. I don't know how durable these items are, so I am hesitant about buying them. They do have a 37.5-day return policy though I believe. Other random feedback: The store uses a POS clover system and a Canadian system that takes longer than other POS systems here. I also wish that the store offered clearance or sale items that are more affordable. (2/5)

Right around the corner from our Airbnb, I was STOKED to see a Jack's! My family are big big fans…read moreof Jack's in San Clemente and look forward to shopping there every year for that trip, so I was stoked about this. This Jack's is split into two almost separate spots, with women's being on one side and men's being on the other. This one definitely had a smaller selection of Rainbow flipflops than what I was used to at the other Jack's location. Which was totally fine. My sister wanted a pair so it was very limited of which ones they had. Thus, I found some for her, but yeah, that was a bit disappointing. BUT I did get a really cute sweatshirt for half off. They always have good deals for sure! It was only $25 for it. We also got baby boy a t-shirt he will have to grow into haha. But of course he needed one! We came back the next day to get my husband something, too. He wanted a t-shirt, too. We also got a towel for $5 since we spent over $100 which was pretty cool. Definitely will be bringing that to the beach next year. The girl that checked us out was nice, but I didn't really see any other staff walking around to help people out even though it was pretty busy.

Great shoe/sandal options. Nice selection of vans too. I got a great Mexican beach blanket for $24. Also came back for a sidewalk sale & got a jack's surfboard sweatshirt for $23. It was 50% off.
