We normally get our running shoes from another business where they're very knowledgeable about their shoes. Sejan was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. The experience was so good that I bought another pair of shoes for the wife, knowing that they were $30 cheaper at another store. At the time, I did not know if Dick's would price match an item if I found it less somewhere else. It turns out that they do, and I was later refunded the difference. Thanks Dick's, and a special thanks to Sejan for the excellent customer service!

Ordered a life jacket that was on sale for $24.98 via the Dick's app. I was going paddle boarding…read morethat day so I set the pick-up location for Newport Beach since I'd be out there later. I went on July 3rd around 1 pm so parking was horrendous. I parked near Barnes & Nobles and took the escalator down to the store. Before I entered the store I checked my order on my phone and noticed I got the wrong size. I walked in and didn't see a sign for online pick-up orders so just went to a register with a cashier. I walked up to them (there was young employee and an older employee having a conversation at the register) and let them know I was there to pick up an online order and the guy at the register looked up my order. As he was doing that, I informed him that I would need to exchange it for a large/extra large and he said sure. He went to grab my online order from the wall, came back and handed it to me and said have a good day and began busying himself with something else. I stood there for a few seconds and asked him if he could please let me know where these life jackets were located because I need to exchange it for a bigger size (second time letting him know this). He then said it was in the back corner and pointed to the back corner. Where it fell short for me is that I let him know I would need to exchange it and either it didn't clock for him to fulfill my request by going and getting the larger size and bringing it back to the register OR he straight up ignored my request and didn't want to go get it. I'm going to say he straight up ignored my request and didn't want to go get it. At that point, I would rather just pick my online order up from a Amazon locker type contraption, go to the back and get the correct sized life jacket, then exchange it and self-checkout myself. I'm against getting rid of humans for jobs, but if the in-person experience is worse than dealing with a computer screen, then I would rather deal with the computer screen. Also, I realize this is a store that highers young people, but it's a branding issue if you don't have pride in training your employees to go above and beyond. In this case, it would have been taking a few extra steps to go get the life jacket size I needed, bringing it back to the register and completing an exchange. Not a crazy ask in my opinion, and it's a standard customer service request and it was not busy at all during this time. It could've been better and for the reason of parking being a little more stressful than other locations and poor customer service, I'd suggest going to another Dick's Sporting Goods or Big 5.

I had a really uncomfortable experience at this location…read more I asked an associate if I could try on a specific pair of LightSpray shoes. He told me they were very expensive, intended for marathon runners, and that they generally would not let someone try them if they only planned to use them for walking. He also mentioned that serious buyers might not want a pair after other people had tried it on. I was not even offered one of those dummy shoes for sizing. The way it was said felt dismissive and left me feeling like I had already been judged as someone who was not a serious customer. What confused me most was that a few minutes later, the person shopping with me asked to try the exact same shoe and was allowed to do so immediately, without being questioned about how they planned to use it or being warned about the price. I brought the situation to someone who appeared to be part of the management team. Although she apologized, most of the conversation focused on explaining the store's procedure and suggesting that I could have asked another associate. That did not really address why the same apparent rule was applied differently. They later offered a discount on the other person's purchase and asked whether I still wanted to try the shoe, but by then I no longer felt comfortable shopping for myself. I cannot speak to anyone's intentions, but this interaction left me feeling singled out, embarrassed, and unwelcome. I hope the store reviews how employees explain their policies and makes sure all customers are treated consistently and respectfully.

There are so many athletic and fitness brands out in the word, so I was interested in learning what RYU sets them apart from others. Their location is located nearby Tesla and Lululemon. Upon entering, you'll see that there is men and women section. Clothes are hung on hangers as well as on tables. The store appears smaller than other places but I was surprised that they had quite a selection of tops, bottoms, and accessories (hats, bags, backpacks). I (3/5). Customer Service: Upon entering the store, you'll find employees refolding outfits and having them steamed. That's a personal detailed touch that many other stores don't have. The employees will greet and ask if they could help you, offering their recommendations, and items available. They'll pick up items you're interested in trying and hanging them in the dressing room for you. (5/5) Outfits: I displayed some interest in only about 10% of the total items offered in the store. As I spent about 30 minutes looking at their clothes, I picked up about 5 items to try. My favorites are definitely the henley, hoodie, and tech tanks. Some of the items are offered in unique colors, offers a great feel, and like the materials used. The material used ranges from polyester, recycled polyester, cotton, and spandex made in Taiwan or China. I wasn't excited about some of the China items as they appeared cheaper in materials or appeared so plain and uninteresting. As an individual with a smaller stature, I was disappointed when I picked up the small size pants that didn't fit me and bummed that they didn't have XS sizes. My other option was to try on females, which I chose not to. (2/5) Cost and Ease: $$$ The store is pricey for an average joe, with t-shirts $57, $80 shorts, $125 chino pans, $133 ethos crew. I don't know how durable these items are, so I am hesitant about buying them. They do have a 37.5-day return policy though I believe. Other random feedback: The store uses a POS clover system and a Canadian system that takes longer than other POS systems here. I also wish that the store offered clearance or sale items that are more affordable. (2/5)
