After an entire trip with my nails chipping like crazy, I had to get them fixed before I left Seattle. I grow out my natural nails, and one was totally broken, and another was basically gone. So I was on a mission for a budget-friendly mani, and I found Pro Nails in Queen Anne. I went around 1pm, and the spot looked super nice--definitely not empty, a few customers, and you could see they were renovating the place. I think they have new ownership, and it's really coming together. The guy up front--can't remember his name, but he was amazing--so welcoming, super easy to talk to, like a friend who just totally gets it. He was on top of it--gave me tips on what kind of polish would help my natural nails stay strong. The service was fast--got in within like 10 or 15 minutes, and it was only $40 flat--extra $5 for a French tip. I was done in like 40 minutes--didn't even feel like it took long. Props to the lady who did my nails. The whole atmosphere felt so warm and inviting. I told them my nail issues, and they got me all fixed up like a pro. Honestly, 10 out of 10. Haven't been here in years but was in the area for a friend's wedding so made an appointment to come in on a Friday with some others from the wedding party. A little communication difficulty on the phone due to language barrier made me nervous so I made sure to call the day before to confirm my apt. Ladies were very nice and we did not have to wait at all. Seems like they were a little slow so even took some walk ins when we were almost finished. Salon was clean and there was plenty of free street parking nearby. Price was as expected for Queen Anne and maybe even slightly better than others- $50 for regular mani pedi? My pedi still looks great almost a month later, mani lasted around 1.5 weeks but probably could last longer if I didn't need to wash my hands so much at work. read more

I went with a friend for a mani-pedi, and I hate to say it was one of my worst experiences. The pedi was beyond basic. I got no massage at all and barely even lotion on my legs. She had to be talked into trying to remove the callus on the back of my feet and then only did a half way job. My toe nails were cut unevenly. The mani was not much better. I got gel polish, but less than one week later it was already chipped. (See photo.) The whole thing cost $65 before tip, and I definitely feel like I was ripped off. They were nice and my friend gets a regular good experience there, so I gave them two instead of 1 star, but it was not good all around. read more

First and likely last experience there. No huge issues, just a number of small ones that eventually led to it being considered a sub par experience. I wouldn't say avoid, but i don't think I'd go back, personally. Minor things that added up: - I had an appt but still waited about 15 min. Not a biggie, somewhat expected. - both my manicurist and pedicurist did not clean up obvious extra polish on the sides of both my finger and toe nails - see pics - nails were not all smoothly filed - 1 to 2 have a bit of an edge that is catching on fabric, etc - one of my thumb nails is not evenly painted- can see in pic. Minor, but again adds up. Didn't notice til I got home sadly! - they went VERY fast - sometimes nice, but this was too fast considering the lack of clean up. - most disappointing was the manicurist at the end who was asked by a coworker to help me out my shoes back on. She pushed on my Birks without regard for the wet nail- I had to ask her to stop and wait. Didn't push them on all the way either so my nails touched the shoe. Luckily didn't smudge but could have. She then tries to hand me my purse and keys in one handful- odd given that she was the one who painted my fingers, she knows they're wet! And she didn't pull down my pants from my knees for me- I didn't think about it til I walked out, but normally that is done for you! Hate leaving reviews like this but it was overall not great. I have had a great experience here the last few times I've gotten my nails done. I typically get gel and they do a great job prepping and painting. I find the ladies are really nice and they all work well together to get people welcomed and seated. The massage chairs are new and so comfortable, and the salon is pretty clean. Updated review: I came here and loved the first set I got! But less than a week later, the top coat started chipping. When it was time to get a fill, the top coat had stained and chipped away, and the color underneath was chipping away as well. The person who did my nails was very distracted checking his phone every couple of seconds, so maybe that's why the nails suffered so badly? I came back to get a fill and it was a much better experience, but I suspect that to be because I got gel this time to avoid the chipping. I don't think I will be back though, as I've had less than professional experiences with the nail tech both times. read more

We got bumped 30 min which was fine but they rushed soo bad on us and poorly scheduled that my lady didn't let my feet soak and when she went to grate them, she cut the side Of my foot!! Now I'm a not able to walk on my foot properly for a while. When I say cut I mean a inch cut of shredded skin on the side of my right foot.. fuk this place!! My sister and I walked in for regular pedicures. They were welcoming and able to fit us in quickly. Not sure if that was due to the wintery weather that had just set in or not, but either way, it worked out. The pedicures were fairly meticulous. I've been to places where they scrub your feet and shape your toe nails, but this place actually exfoliated and cleaned out the excess buildup under the nails. And my feet need that, bc I don't get pedis on the regular. Even my sister thought they were a little extra and did a very good job. I didn't give them 5 stars only because it was a little chilly in the salon and the water could've been warmer and the fan that they put on our toes to dry our polish was not warm. All in all, price seemed very fair and our feet are very soft. I do recommend this shop. read more

I received poor attitude, service, and quality at Pro Nails. This was my first and last experience here. I told the nail technician, Hao, that I have soft nails and need to have tips put on them. She told me no, my nails are strong enough as they are and with shellac I would have unbreakable nails. She promised that the quality of her paint is unlike any other salon. Hmmmmmmm... I told her to go ahead then, but if my nails chip or break while I'm at the conference I was headed to I would expect her to fix that and I mean a refund. She did my nails. Within 2 days 4 nails broke. Today is Saturday. It's been 6 days since the service. Avoid this place if you want a decent nail tech, and good quality. read more

Been going here for years, and really enjoyed it. Now, the thrill is gone. Pro Nails in Queen Anne has a fine nail staff once you get past the front desk, but the new guys at the front desk act like nail punks. They are tough, eye-rolling characters who probably would be best described as nail thugs. They don't seem to care a whit for customer service. This place seems to have gone from a good deal across the line to become the very definition of "Eek! Methinks not." Expect to hear arbitrary wait times (usually 30 minutes to an hour) no matter how empty they appear when you first walk in the door, particularly if you want just a pedicure. Importantly, sterilization seems spotty here, despite the glowing blue bins on the desk, I don't see the tools in there much and tools in their box don't emerge from an autoclave, but from their little plastic toolbox immediately following your neighbor's pedicure. While going exclusively to Pro Nails, I've been rewarded for my love of a bargain pedicure w/a nail fungus. So gross. So, I'm out. Adios! read more

The first experience I got a Dip manicure by a woman... she was extremely rough with my hands and I have a thumb injury and I walked out of there literally feeling sore on my left thumb was swollen. The dip took about and hour and 15 minutes longer..... it wouldn't have been too bad if the chairs weren't rolling around and highly uncomfortable. (Sore lower back). Secondly, the dip was SOOOOOO thick that my fingers hurt, as if they couldn't breath with the heavy straight jacket on them. The only positive aspect was that they lasted forever. Second experience was with a highly talkative, friendly gentleman who was fun. I could have done without the hand slapping to relax my hands about 7 times... a simple gesture would have sufficed. I went with shellac.... he kept them very very long and sadly due to the beating the dip manicure did to my nails alll of them broke within 7 days. (Funny anecdote he said I got my Dip done and the wrong place, and I awkwardly told him it was done here) Two nails within the first 3 days and lots of pealing shellac. Overall improvement in manners and listening to customers would help him excel since he does do a good job. read more

Ok, so I need to start out by saying that I waited 5 visits to review this place. I figured they were busy they first time and I didn't make an appointment so it was good service for a walk in. But I strongly have to agree with other Yelpers. It's a fast and dirty kind of place!! I'm giving them two stars instead of just one because they did a good job with my nails. But my experience wasn't pleasant and it was too expensive for what I got done. I got a fill with shellac and it seriously took 5 of them to get it done. They tried to talk to me out of the color I wanted and the shape for my nails. Don't get me wrong, it is definitely nice to have people suggest a style, but the reality is that these ladies were rude about how they did it. And after I said no, they went ahead and started laughing and speaking in their language and pointing at my nails. I respect the fact that people want to communicate in their native language, but if you are running a business and people don't understand... then you definitely have to be professional. They don't bother to get to know their customers and are super loud. It was very annoying because I went there after work, since they are within walking distance to my office, but I couldn't relax at all. That's one of the things I enjoy about getting my nails done. A nice relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Trust me when I say you won't find any of that there! Instead you will find.... rude nail specialists, overpriced services, unsanitary practices. I came here cause the normal place I usually go to was closed and I needs to get my nails done before heading out of town. The worker there said we're busy and if I could come back another day. I said no cause I was going out of town. Mine you, there was at least 3 workers just sitting around...now how is that you're busy. They said they has a few appointments coming in. Hence these appointments were late and I made a stink about it so they decided to see me. I wanted a shellac manicure. This was the fastest I've ever had it done, 15mins. The lady disappeared couple time in the middle of service and talked their language for a whole time. This place has unsafe nail techniques, is unsanitary and is by far the worst nail salon I have ever been to. I went here after my usual nail salon was closed. This was supposed to be a birthday treat that quickly turned into a nightmare and necessity of having them redone the following day somewhere else. Waste of money! - They ruin your nails by using a grinder tool to remove regular nail Polish. After grinding there was nail polish particles in my water bowl and all over my hands that they did not clean up. - They do not push your cuticles back or use cuticle oil, instead they use the cuticle cutter to scrape them from the side. I had cuticles showing through my nail Polish. - After a pedicure they make you walk bare foot to the drying station that they do not turn on. I had to figure out how to work it myself. - They cut my nails so short that they hurt and did not shape them. They were all different shapes and jagged. - Massage didn't help the situation - They did not clean under my nails!!! I walked out almost crying since this was supposed to be a birthday treat. Nice job on the nails so that is why I give them two stars. However, due to Covid I was asked to wait outside for 15 minutes until they had room for me. I understand that and even respect the effort to follow guidelines. However shortly after I was invited back in , a full 15 to 20 minutes in the cold, a big group of five were happily allowed in and sat beside each other in the chairs, no social distancing required. When it was time to pay I was charged an extra $10 ($5 per person, "it says it outside on our door").. I didn't go look but I didn't see it when I was waiting outside. No notice inside the salon and no notice on the price sheet hung on the wall. It just rubbed me the wrong way that I paid $10 extra for standing in the cold and others came later with no such caution exercised. Not going back. read more

I honestly don't know how this business still exists on Queen Anne hill, considering the lovely, friendly and talkative residents who call this part of Seattle home. My best friend and I decided to spontaneously get mani/pedis as it was my birthday and we wanted to get pampered a bit. My usual place, which I love and is called Number One Pro Nails in Lower QA, was closed as it was Tuesday. I recalled there was another salon on the top of the hill and suggested we go there instead. Since I walked in, not a word was said to me - not a friendly hello, not a welcome, it was all gestures. The technicians looked like they'd rather be sweeping floors elsewhere than be where they were. When they started angrily scrubbing my feet and I asked the person to stop, he didn't. My friend's experience was even worse. She got gel nails on both toes and hands, and the entire time two people who worked on her couldn't figure out how to use the LED machine. They spoke what I assume was rapid Vietnamese and made her feel very uncomfortable with their lack of knowledge. It was not an experience I want to repeat. I will not be back. I'll be going to Number One Pro Nails down the hill instead. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND. If zero stars were an option, I would have picked zero stars. Greeted by rudeness, and unfriendly staff. Was laughed at openly with 6 other customers in the salon. Did not feel comfortable in there. Had never gotten a pedicure before, but had gotten many manicures. When I did not know I had to pick out a non gel color, I was mocked and laughed at openly. It felt awful. Weds: Got a mani pedi at 3pm, by 4:30 pm it was chipped. Thursday: an entire nail fell off. DID I MENTION I GOT SHELLAC MANI!?! shellac is supposed to last 2-3 weeks. By Saturday, I had three nails missing. By Sunday, they had completely all chipped off. I immediately called on Wednesday when I noticed a chip/ my hands were covered in nail polish spots. They offered to fix it immediately, but I was going to work an event, then going out of town for a wedding the very next morning. I couldn't get fixed until Monday (today). They said that was too long. Couldn't offer a refund. I paid $45 plus $10 tip for a manicure that lasted about an hour. Not acceptable, plus terrible atmosphere and environment. I have been going here for a few years and I used to love it. In the past, I have always had a good mani/pedi and usually went in about every 4 weeks all year round. You can't beat the price and the wait is usually short. Or you can call and make an appointment so you don't have to wait. But in the past several months I have become less enchanted. If you don't catch the nail technician, she will start swiping your foot with a used razor/shaver blade. It's only when you insist that they change it in front of you that they do. I must admit, I don't mind the razor- but only when it is new and sterilized! If they try that in front of you, what must happen behind the scene? The other giant turnoff are the guys who run the front desk. They have zero customer service and rarely ever look you in the eye. One time one of them did my manicure and he talked on his cell phone the whole time. For the past year they have been bringing their pit bull in who sits under a technician table in the front. I don't care if he is 'as gentle as a bunny'- leave him at home! And for the love of Pete, don't ever get a wax here. The one time I scheduled a wax I was praying to God to let me survive with my skin intact and minimal scarring. The past two times that I have needed a pedicure, I just couldn't bring myself to go back. Even though it is on top of Queen Anne, it has turned totally ghetto. Bye Bye Pro Nails. Ok let's get this straight, girlfriend. This is a beauty salon - get it? Like lots of women milling around at a million miles an hour talking about whatever and whatever, you bring in your friends (or don't) and get some fun stuff done. There is no customized aromatherapy or lavender-scented eye pillow. You come in here to get your nails done, get a wax, enjoy the massage chairs, turn off your brain. And it's fun. I visit every 2-3 weeks because they do a fantastic job. I love coming here and reading InStyle mag, or whatever brain candy is lying around and discussing what gender Lady Gaga will be next. Words for the wise: these ladies work hard. Very hard. (I was here on a Friday a.m. and every 5 minutes -or less- someone would come in and ask for something. Even a job!) So with that said, make an appointment. Don't call ahead to see if they have an opening and show up 30 minutes later. Second: go on Tues-Thurs when it's a bit slower. 5 stars well deserved. This is a far far cry from a spa but for what it offers and the price - this place is great! I came with a friend mid weekday. They weren't too busy and I didn't feel rushed. I've been here on a weekend day also and it can get busy. Service is better mid-day. 20 bucks for a pedicure was SUCH A GOOD DEAL! Their massage chairs are comfortable and they did a fabulous job. My friend was impressed because they didn't make her bleed like other nail places have done. They didn't talk much - to me at least - talked a lot to each other but I didn't care cuz I was chillaxin in my chair. I have been a customer here for years, and have seen the service slip in the last few. Went in last week and got a shelac manicure, and like other services that I have paid for in the past few months here, it felt completely rushed. The hand massage lasted about 30 seconds. Even the pedicure massages last longer (and those arent very long either). At checkout, I went to pay and the lady that wrang me up charged my card $250 instead of $25. Then laughed about it while she voided. Then she called her friend up and she charged me again incorrectly ($50 instead of $25). Again, little apology was given for her error. I love this nail salon!!!! Top place in Seattle. Manicures: awesome. Pedicures: amazing. Massage chairs: cozy. Soak-off gel manicures: AMAZING! They have CND Shellac and OPI, so the quality of products is top-notch. I go there quite often and they are the nicest and the sweetest! One time I went for a shellac manicure, and my manicurist worked so hard, and wouldn't accept any work that was sub-par, so whenever my nail looked weird, she started over on that nail until it came out right. It turns out it was the Shellac nail polish (face it ladies, you know that every now and then there is a bad bottle of nail polish, no matter how expensive the brand!), and she chose another bottle and it was flawless. I love this place. So much!! $25 for Shellac, $12 manicure. Seriously, this place is awesome. And you know it's awesome because there are ALWAYS people there getting their nails done!! All the time. I got a great $20 pedicure! The polish is still on after a week and I am pretty sure I would go back. I sat through two cycle of the massage chair sequence and it helped my back. Newly installed massage chairs, ecstasy-laden calf massage & toe pull (yeah, you heard me correctly), and finally a place who uses HOT water instead of the usual luke warm crap that gives my exposed legs the shivers half way through the pampering typically. Half star less for harsh, too bright fluorescent lighting that kept me squinting, and half a star off because of a small chip on my big toe just two days later (granted, it was a day of spending four hours traipsing around barefoot at Gas Works), but a little extra at-home top coat has kept the rest looking fuscialicious! read more

I like giving second chances sometimes. Today was one of those times, and I unfortunately thought this place might be better this time around. Not at all! They did everything you shouldn't when you want strong and healthy nails, and the girl even filed my nails to "good length!" even after I specifically said not to make them any shorter. There goes 3 week of growth! She argued with me about my color choice, and then explained that she would give me what she wanted. Bonus! The "Gel" they use is fake, the rancid smell and poor shine give that right away. I walk out $25 dollars later with horrible thin and short nails. Never going back. read more

I went here this afternoon to get my nails done. I have been here once before, two weeks prior. I planned to continue business with them until the incident that happened today. I walked in and was told to pick a nail color. I walked to the wall to browse. After about 30 seconds, I heard the three employees begin to make chicken sounds, and say "chicken" to each other and they were hysterically laughing. I turned around in horror, and their heads dropped. They looked humiliated. Here is the thing. I know this sounds ridiculous that this could pertain to me, but I am a very naturally thin girl who has been ridiculed my whole life about my weight. They were talking about me, and it was obvious. How dare they? It was so mortifying and unprofessional. I will never return. I hope you are pleased with yourselves, ladies. read more
