This company charges as if they're high-end but provides low-end services. 1. It took much longer than quoted. 2: There was a lot of miscommunication throughout this process. For example, the first painting crew worked hard the first day, but only after arriving several hours late. I shouldn't be the one calling to see if they are still coming. Only one person showed up on day two, and it wasn't obvious if anything actually got painted that day. Then no one came for a couple of days because the van "broke down," or so I was told. One person came on day four. However, he was able to complete most of the work. The following day, I'm told the project cannot be finished because there are no more supplies and no money to get more supplies. The crew leader informed me that he had tried calling the owner but was not getting any response. I contacted the owner and let him know of the situation. He let me know that they could send someone else in a few days. 3: I like initiative, but it's probably good to ask before doing something that can't be changed. For example, I get a text with an image of one of the bedrooms where the walls are almost completely repainted, but repainted in a very different shade than what I requested. The text asks if the color is okay. Do I have a choice if most of the walls are already painted?! Sloppy work and poor clean up (review images). 5. I believe corners were cut to save money and time. I paid to have the baseboards painted, but I feel that the painter simply touched up scuffed areas but did not paint all the baseboards. I know this because there were areas that remained scuffed or still had paint spots from when the walls were painted. Plus sides: For the most part, the owner was very responsive when issues arose. I appreciated the second painter coming back to touch up grease stains that did not get covered up. Would I use them again? I'm not sure. On the one hand, I want to believe my negative experience with this company was a one-off, but the sloppiness of some areas is unacceptable, especially considering how much this project cost me. read more

TL;DR A mostly good experience for which I am grateful, but next time I would (1) ask to do a full video tour or in-person price quote to avoid misunderstandings, (2) get more detail on what supplies I need to provide ahead of time and how many coats of paint are anticipated, and (3) do the prep myself (remove outlet covers, put down painter's tape on baseboards, etc.) before the painter arrives. What was great: 1. I really appreciated Stelios's quick quote on Yelp and his fast responses - it was easy to chat. 2. I was especially grateful that Stelios was able to send someone over the weekend, on short notice, and especially over Father's Day weekend!! We were on a short timeline because we hadn't ever seen the house and our stuff was arriving shortly (we assumed it would be harder to paint after the rooms were furnished). 3. Tyson came to paint for us - I take it he's a subcontractor. He was mostly wonderful - he worked super hard and was very professional and easy to work with. He didn't do the prep work that most painters do (e.g., tape down the floor coverings or use painters tape to avoid painting outlets / baseboards, etc.) and so he ended up getting paint on the outlets and floors. But he cleaned the floors; the outlets & paint are white, so it wasn't a huge deal; and we were on a tight timeline, so he might have opted to avoid prep to try to get it all done faster. If we had insisted on standard prep I think he would've done it. There was a ton of miscommunication though - here's what I would do differently next time: 1. Insist on a full video tour or have someone come in person to look at what's to be painted. We made adjustments based on pictures but both Stelios and I ended up unhappy about the process. 2. Ask in advance exactly what I am expected to provide. Stelios told me only about the paint. I was apparently also supposed to have painting supplies (brushes, trays, etc.), but Tyson had extra in his truck. I also ended up having to go out and get a ladder. 3. Ask Stelios to let the painter know in advance what is expected. Our contract included minor wall repairs, but Tyson was surprised to hear this and ended up patching at the very end. 4. Confirm in advance the expected number of coats of paint. I thought 2 was standard when painting a light color over a darker color, but I ended up having to ask for the second coat. Because that would take extra time and it seemed to be more work than expected, I ended up not painting an entire side of two rooms. FYI, Stelios asks for half of the payment up front. I was uncomfortable sending hundreds of dollars of cash via Zelle to someone I don't know, but they also accept credit cards over Square, which was great (there's a 3% credit card fee but it provides peace of mind in case of a no show). read more

Had my entire apartment plus baseboards and trim painted (with some minor crack repairs also done). They said allow 6-7 days but guys would try to finish faster. They finished in 4 days! They kept the floors and furniture well covered, with clean drop cloths on floor - moved my stuff back at night/ cleared it off - so I could sleep - and helped me put everything back after the job was finished. He emailed me the contract Sunday and his crew was there Monday morning ready to start. His guys worked tirelessly for almost 12 hours without a break and another 12 hours the following day. They painted a full sized basement, living room, two hallways, and 3 bedrooms. Ceilings too. And they patched all the wall damage. Unbelievable!! THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE QUOTING PROCESS ONLY-I DID NOT HAVE ANY WORK DONE BY THIS COMPANY. I requested a quote from Stelios and he replied that Hector would contact me. Hector was supposed to come out on a Thursday afternoon and at the last minute, he sent me a text that he had to reschedule for the next day. I texted him back and told him that I am not available the next day. He asked about Saturday. I told him I would get back to him. Fast forward to Saturday, he shows up at my house with another guy at 9:00 am on Saturday even though I told him that I was busy. I let him in and showed him the work that needed to be done. We went over everything thouroughly and he spent over a half hour in my home. I couldn't show him one of the rooms since he showed up unannounced and my daughter was still sleeping. He promised to get me a quote and left. I texted him photos of the other room. I waited a week. Did not hear anything back from either Stelios or Hector. I texted Hector and asked where my quote was. I even messaged Stelios through Yelp and still nothing. I wish I would have not wasted my time with this company only to get ghosted by them. I think the cleaning was ok. I honestly thought I would get more for the amount of money paid, i.e. window sills not wiped clean, appliances wiped down, porch swept, etc. Normally we use the maids to do all our work but they didn't service this location.
