This is the second time that I've used Danny and his crew for a painting job although this instance was bigger than the first. First off, I loved that his team was willing to come out to Hinsdale as the first job they worked on was Downtown Chicago. Next, working with Danny in the planning phase was a breeze. I walked him through a home description, pictures and what rooms/colors I wanted done. Despite the process being remote, he gave me an accurate estimate that was competitive with most of the other ones I received, and much better than quite a few. Lastly, Eddie and his team of painters did a bang up job over the 3 days. We were able to make adjustments to add additional painting areas, try out a different color for an accent wall when the first attempt wasn't to our liking, and these guys powered through the job neatly and professionally. I've recommended them to my in-laws which, to me, is the ultimate compliment. Or maybe that's just my in-laws who I'd never hear the end of it if P5 didn't to a top tier job..... ;) read more

I hired P5 painting on a blind recommendation from my realtor and I am sooo happy I did! I texted with Danny to get things set up and he was very professional and friendly. The paint job turned out amazing. It is clear that they taped off lines and it makes the paint job look very neat and clean. My aunt who is a professional painter even complimented their work and she is a tough critic! Also, I couldn't believe that my entire condo was complete in 3 days!! (1500 sq ft with trim and doors included). Not to mention that this all took place while I was out of town which made me a little nervous as there were strangers in my condo with all of my belongings. The reviews are true!! Our realtor recommended Danny and after getting quotes from a few other painters in the city the price and the time frame met our needs. Francisco arrived on time and did a thorough job. He brought the paint, rollers, drop cloths and most important the ladder for our two story space at the stair. We had him paint our main room which has 9.5 ft ceilings with trim and molding from the 1900s. The place looks great with fresh paint on the walls trim and doors. P5 Painting did an excellent job in painting my condo. I was moving back in after renting out my condo for the past five years. Being halfway across the country and coordinating the work to be done (not just painting) prior to the move-in was nerve wracking. So when I finally walked through the front door, I was floored by how wonderful my apartment looked! I had taken possession of my condo a month earlier from my tenant, and flew back for an inspection. It was tired and dated. P5 was one of perhaps six painting companies I lined up that weekend to provide me with a quote. Danny was easy and straightforward to work with. He showed up on time (some of the painters did not show) and walked through the apartment with me as I described what needed to be painted. I got my quote back later that weekend. After comparing all the quotes, I selected P5 Painting as I felt the most comfortable interacting with Danny. I got to select my colors for the walls, door and trim. Danny indicated that they had a contractor rate at Sherwin Williams (my preferred brand), and that they would be able to get the paint (I was anxious/worried that I needed to get paint, and I would not have time to get it in the remainder of the weekend I was there). I don't think there was a limit to how many colors I could have selected for the quote. However, to keep it simple and minimize the cost (in terms of minimizing many different gallons of paint that may be left half full) I selected two shades of grey for the walls and white for the trim, doors and closets. Also, I got to keep the leftover paint. P5 Painting completed the work in two days, which was perfect. Note, the apartment was completely empty so I cannot comment on the timeframe or cost of the apartment had been furnished. Overall, as a first-time customer of painting services, I got a lot of value for what I paid P5 Painting. They were not the cheapest nor the highest. I hired them recently to paint my living room and kitchen area one color. They did an excellent job at my place and I really liked how they were good at patching up the walls and making sure everything was neat. I reached out to them and a bunch of other companies since I was on a tight timeframe before moving in so they were one of the few companies that were available and responded in a timely manner for a date with 2.5 weeks notice. I wish that there were 2 people that showed up for the job. One person came at 8am and the other person did not show up for another 3 hours and left early so I felt that things were a little delayed. I was hoping to get a small part of my hallway done and I feel like if that person came in the morning it could have been completed. In comparison to the other companies that responded I felt that they were more responsive and also they were a few hundred dollar difference. It was not that much of a difference but it was nice that they were a little more competitive. If I have another project that is more complex I will definitely consider hiring them again. read more

We bought a house this summer and P5 came highly recommended by our realtor. Danny and his painters did not disappoint. We got an estimate based on a video we shot in the house, and P5 bought the paint, rollers, dropcloths, etc. and got straight to work. Because we had them paint almost every room in the house, it took several days. Francisco oversaw the crew and was excellent. It's clear he's not only a highly skilled painter, but he also knows how to run a project and help anyone living in the place have as calm an experience as possible. P5 painted trim, doors, 9.5' walls, and ceilings in a house built in 1904. We made some adjustments to the scope of work at one point, and Danny and the guys rolled with it (no pun intended). The revised estimate was almost exactly the total of the final bill. We would hire P5 again without hesitation. Since they did such a nice job, though, it will be a while before we'll need them! P5 transformed our living space. In addition to painting the walls, they painted all the trim around windows and doors as well as the base board and crown molding. Because it was stained and varnished oak trim, they had to apply 2 coats of primer and 2 of paint. The results were fantastic. The crew was friendly, polite and extremely good at their job. I have never written a bad review. In the end, this company threatened to take me to small claims court over $82. I hired them to paint most rooms in my apartment, and specifically to match the color of a blue wall that was already painted. They declined using paint already purchased and gave me their confidence that going with their paint meant it would absolutely match. The color does not match. The corners are sloppily done, exacerbating the mismatch. A box of garbage was left seeping wet paint, staining the floor. There were splatters in every room. The bathroom has one coat, with the original color visible in many spots. I have done hours of retouching myself. While I did express these concerns during the job, I did not contact the company immediately afterwards. The apartment was left in such a mess, I honestly wanted them out for the time being to deal with the cleaning myself. I admit this was my mistake. Once receiving an invoice, my complaints were met with deniaI and frustration. There was no offer to repaint or deduct any cost of service except for a $60 cleaning fee because of the spill. I eventually requested they repaint the mismatched blue, which they denied, but offered to paint the other wall with their paint saying their color is the true color and mine is wrong. I turned down the offer. After five more days of no response, I sent a check deducting an estimated cost of the room in question. I then received an adjusted invoice for $82 higher than the check in the mail. When I responded that we let it go at this point, I am unhappy with the work and have a living room that is two different colors, I was threatened to be taken to small claims court if the remaining balance were not paid. I am gladly paying as to avoid any more conflict. read more

Our kitchen is in a 120+ year old home and is in need of a gut rehab. Bottom line, we wanted to dress it up until we can gut it. It wasn't the easiest job and we were under the gun for a party. They perform high quality work, they clean up after themselves very well, they are always friendly and most importantly, they are trust worthy. I feel completely comfortable giving them access to my home when I am not there. They have done exterior and interior painting, dry wall and other repairs, deck refinishing/restoring, and wall paper installation for me and their work is always perfect. They are highly responsive and come through when I need them the most even coming in on the weekends to do work if I really need them to do sometimes on short notice. Their prices are always fair and reasonable. I never have to haggle with them over costs because I know what they charge is logical and equitable. My fiancé and I recently bought a condo in Bucktown and the previous owner didn't share our same taste, so we needed to have some painting done. Have you ever tried to put up wallpaper? Ok, I haven't either. And that's because it looks excruciatingly hard. And that's why I was so impressed with the work that Francisco from P5 did. He installed a wallpaper mural in my dining room and worked magic with my uneven, crooked walls. It looks amazing! Also had some rooms and a fireplace painted by other terrific P5 dudes. I had a large hole in my bedroom wall that had been opened to fix a leaking pipe, and he patched the hole (approx 3'x4'), and painted. You can't tell there was ever a hole there. Danny was very helpful in answering questions and our painter, Saul, even came back to touch up a few spots that were dinged (our cabinets were originally installed quite close together so some areas that get more friction needed a little longer to dry).
