I took my wedding suit to be altered here after the made-to-measure custom suit that I ordered from indochino could not get it how I wanted due to my short and slim preference. "John" knew exactly what I wanted and tailored my pants and jacket to the modern slim style that I wanted. And he did it so quickly and at a decent price. I was super happy with how I looked on my wedding day. Now I take all my scrubs here to get them altered and pay whatever the costs because it is hard to find REALLY pleasant and helpful tailors such as John, who understand the current trends even if their humble shop is small and dated. To me, the kindness, work and consideration they put into customers' needs are priceless and I'll drive 15 minutes from my house just to support this business. From the reviews, I was expecting great service. Boy was I surprised. I walked in with 4 pairs of pants to be shortened. The employee (who spoke perfect English) was helping another person who was clearly not happy with the estimate he was given to alter a suit ($150). When the customer walked back into the dressing room, I thought the employee would say "hi" or something to me. Instead, he walked away, and started talking to an older gentleman in the back (owner perhaps?). When he finally came back out front, he still totally ignored me! I waited a couple of minutes to see if he would finally acknowledge me. Nope, he just kept looking away. I finally walked out and will never return. read more

Found this place off yelp. I needed my suit altered. With only 1 yelp review I was a little scared to take it here, but it was so close to where I live that I came here out of convenience. It's very important to have that trust with your tailor. I'm not sure if I had it here...hence the 3 stars. They did an decent job. The thing that bugged me was, they originally had the back taken in, then when I returned and checked it out, I realized I needed the shoulder taken in. Why wasn't it addressed in the first place!?!?!? It was another $10. The total came out to $36 for very minor alterations. It's a mom and pop store, I think I'd take pants here to get them hemmed, but not sure about major alterations quite yet. I'm not sure if I have that trust. A little sad the hem and 1/2 taper of the top of my bridesmaid dress came out to $150 ($85 just for the hem... ) when my dress was only $130..... I've gotten dresses hemmed and tapered before for $40 at most. I will only wear this dress once in my life so it's a bit upsetting that the alterations cost more than the dress. I wish he would've talked about pricing and options more. I should've said something when I got the receipt at first but my mind couldnt even fathom the alterations being 150 and I thought it was 15.0 with how Vietnamese people tend to write their receipts. Wow! They did a fantastic job letting out my favorite skirt. This was a difficult job too...it is a fully embroidered high waisted miniskirt. They had to add in triangular darts in order to add 3 inches to the waist. As you can see from the photo, it was done beautifully. Also, they finished the job in less than a week. I bought 3 Joseph A. Bank suits online and brought them in to get tailored. I had never been to this place. What bothered me was that the guy suggested a number of alterations without explaining the costs or what exactly he was doing. He then said it would be about $250, which seemed high but I'm not an expert on tailoring, so I said ok, and figured he must do great work. When I got the suits back, 2 of them were fine, but one had a big bubble in the crotch area that I had asked him to take in. I tried it on and he said "it's the way the pants are made." I wasn't comfortable with that response but he said there wasn't anything more he could do to take the pants in. I wore them a couple of times and was self conscious because they looked awful. I couldn't believe I paid so much to be walking around in a suit I wasn't comfortable wearing. I took the suit in to Men's Wearhouse and they couldn't believe the pants were "altered" and that I was charged for it. They fixed the bubble protruding in the crotch area and now I can finally wear my new suit. I wish I could say I'd give them a second chance, because they seemed nice, but because of the bad communication and charging me so much for work that was subpar, I don't see myself coming here again. read more

I took in a dress to be hemmed for a wedding I'm attending because I didn't want to take it just anywhere because the fabric is delicate. I brought the shoes I was going to wear with it to properly measure how long I wanted it. Because of the way the bottom of the dress was made (scalloped), it made it more difficult for them, but they took their time measuring it and marking it off, making sure it would be even all around and that I liked the length. It came out perfectly! Perfect length, and I can't wait to wear it!! I also asked them to add a stitch in the top to close the wrap top so it wasn't such a deep-V. It looked so good, like the dress came like that! So happy I came here, I definitely recommend it! read more

Wow I brought in BRAND NEW Dickies, and they were 1-2 sizes wayyyyy too big on the waist. Given I had spent close to 60$ on the jeans I was hesitant about where to get them fixed and i couldn't return bc i had ripped off the tags, so I came across this place. Absolutely amazing work, wouldn't even be able to tell anything was done to them. The fit is so perfect, not tight/not loose. And to top it all off, the owner is so friendly and genuine about wanting to help you out. Price more than reasonable, was expecting to spend more. So so happy, and he even asked when i wanted them done by. I was in no rush and they were done 3 days earlier, but picked them up a week later. I went to get a bridesmaid dress altered (last minute) on Wed Sept 24th (because Davids bridal in south coast plaza did me wrong!) I needed it to be tucked in on the sides since I had last a few pounds and was fitting loose. (Yay for me!) I was very nervous I must add, as this was my very first experience getting anything tailored. I went in shy and was warmly greated. She just asked what I needed and when by..... (Drumm roll) that same SATURDAY!!!! Sept 27th!! She said no problem. It will be ready Friday morning at the latest. Sent me in to put it on and she just started pinning away with safety pins. Gave me suggestions about where to tighten it a bit more for a curvy look ;) It was fast and affordable. $28.00 FLAT. No rush fee. Nothing too crazy like Davids bridal! ( those rip offs!) So I left happy and excited cause of course I had done my research and read reviews before finding the place. Came back Friday. Tried it on. OMG! I LOOKED HOT! it fit right. I didn't need to hold it up. It was perfect! They steamed it for me to get the wrinkles out for free and sent me off with it. Woo hoo. So glad I found them. Will def come back as a regular once I loose more weight and need tailoring on my other clothes. Totally recommend. These people do miracles. I came by needing my shirt & pants for my suit tailored done ASAP for a client's wedding in two days and they were able to have it done within ONE. Price was reasonable - due to the fact that I am a bodybuilder and an athlete; I am well aware that it is quite hard to have suits fit me perfectly year round during on/off seasons. Days of preparation for a new job, and yet I still managed to forget that I needed to hem my pants until the Saturday before the work week started. I was frantically searching for a tailor in my area that wouldn't require several days to hem pants so that I wouldn't be forced to show up at the office, stepping on the ends of my pants like a 3-year-old in their parent's closet. I gave this place a call and they said it wouldn't be a problem, even though it was already 2pm on a Saturday. They got the job done in an hour and a half. $25 for 2 pairs of pants hemmed the same day! Theye very nice too. The only downside is that they only accept cash, but they are next door to a liquor store with an ATM, so it wasn't that big of a deal.
