Came here for decades, Jennifer made it a great experience, now she's gone and the quality and service have dropped, so much so that a seam they stitched came out within a few months (poor quality) and they said they only guarantee their work for 30 days (weak) and showed total indifference to me not being cool with that as a long term customer (poor service, she didn't even make an attempt to address my concern or escalate, rudely turned her attention elsewhere actually). I went someplace else who only charged me $20 and did a excellent job. Before this encounter they charged me $40 to shorten a dress, more because it had a full skirt. I was recommended to use this seamstress. I brought in a double breasted blazer dress I purchased from Ann Taylor. I normally wear a petite 00, but they were out of stock in my size. I bought the size 0, but was too big! Kim, helped me immediately with making adjustments with pins. She knew just exactly what to do to make it right. I have come here before for pants hemming, but I would refrain from bringing clothes that require more complex alterations. I was hoping to get a length reduction and waist hemming for a dress of mine. When I came in, they told me that their main seamstress was out of office and asked me to come back tomorrow to get adjustments. I hope that in the future they'll do a better job of respecting their customers' time. Many of us are extremely busy and can't make multiple trips to the tailor. To be dismissed like that due to a staffing shortage felt unfair to me. On top of that, they quoted me $50 just for the length reduction, which felt overpriced. read more

There's no way I will ever come back to this place!!! Not only did they not called me to let me know that my alterations wasn't ready as promised to be picked up. I came on the day Make it Fit gave the date to be picked up. On that day, one of the gals told me that my pant was ready, but not my coat. She asked if I could come back the next day. Mind you I don't live in Tustin. I'm 30 mins away, so it's not like I can run down the street and can come back. The helper went back to asked one of the tailors when they can complete the sleeves on my jacket. They replied, it would be 20 mins. There's no way, a tailor can take out the garment sleeves, shorten both sleeves, sew the lining and buttons less than 30 mins and do the job to be just as good as the manufacturer's in that short of a time! Well, they did a horrible job on the sleeves of my expensive coat I bought from Neiman Marcus. I can sew, but I am busy mom of 3 kids. I have taken my daughter's winter formal, homecoming and prom dresses prior to taking my items. Make It Fit has done a good job previously with the alterations, but this time, they rushed the job and ruined my coat completely!!! I brought to their attention and they said they were not going to charge me for the alterations. What good does that do!?! I ended up donating my coat. The thing is, they should have offered to pay for my coat. Anyhow, I'm sooo thankful I have found a new alteration place near me. The new place is excellent and will not rushed the job or make excuses. Just know if you go to Make It Fit you're at their mercy and they don't take accountability. I've had a lot of good visits here for dry cleaning and alterations. I like the convenient location, quick turn around, and the seamstresses I've had have been good. However, this last visit I had a whole suit combo alerted, as well as some other items and it just didn't come out right. After paying nearly as much as the cost of my suit to get it altered, I expected the fit to be spot on but just ended up taking it elsewhere to get the work finished. David's Bridal estimated my alterations to take about 6 weeks which was exactly when my wedding date was. David's Bridal is also notorious for expensive alterations. Jennifer did my dress alterations in less than 2 weeks and I felt that the price was fair. My dress needed to be a little shorter, pulled up and in more, bustled, and cover the low cut V neck. She was very sweet and knowledgeable about wedding dresses and recommended to use certain bras/boob tape. Come in with your dress, shoes, and underwear/bras you are planning to wear on your wedding to get the proper fit. My dress stayed bustled and in place after a day of walking, running and dancing around in it! I was satisfied with her work and I loved my dress! This is my go to alteration place. The lady there is very thorough. I am 4'11 so nothing ever fits me correctly. I have dropped off bathing suits, pants, jeans, dresses that are too wide or too long or even difficult designs and the lady there gets it right every time. After reading some of the 1 star reviews it compelled me to make a review because of course with alterations some things may not turn out the way you thought it would. And if you notice their reviews say they have been going there for a long time. There is always that possibility that an item design just might be very difficult to tailor and might leave you unhappy, but that's where I feel like people need to be a little more realistic with their expectations. I wouldn't normally write a review before communicating but there's no email address and I'm really disappointed. I've used them a few times with no issues but most recently devastating results. I brought a pair of sweats in with a sample. After trying on when I picked up, it was completely wrong. I communicated the issues and the lady was kind enough to not charge for the steps they missed although the side hems were not fixable. I had a sample but that wasn't adhered to. Brought 3 more, they were supposed to fix the crotch on one and do the other 3 correctly. I had a sample and they called to say I needed me to try them on. Okay. So I went in, but they asked me to come in the morning another day when had when the lady was working. I tried all pants on twice to make sure it was going to be done correctly. 2 of the pants were done correctly, the other two are ruined. One was the originally ruined pair the other they did the sides on and ruined a second pair after communicating don't do the sides!!!. I specifically said do not do the side, they are supposed to be wide. They did the sides on both and they have blue stains on them as well. Not sure what to do. All 4 were the exact same paints, just different colors. How were 2 done correctly and 2 RUINED????????? They are each $160 pants and the alternations were over $100. My concern is simply the level of customer service, or lack thereof. Took my daughters prom dress here. So upset. We picked it up for her because she had a CIF game to play then headed straight to a friends to get ready for prom. She called me devastated! I have never had a problem with this business in the past, however, most recently I have. My daughter took three pairs of work pants here to be hemmed. They were measured by the business and left to be hemmed. Once the pants were picked up and tried on they were still too long. My daughter took them back to be fixed and they refused to fix them without charging again. They tried to blame it on the shoes she was wearing, but she only ever wears tennis shoes. I've never had a tailor not stand by their work especially when they have measured and pinned the item. I was shocked at how impossible it was to reason with these people. To me this is common sense. When you do some incorrectly you fix it. In response to the owner's reply. If you read she only wears tennis shoes so those were the shoes she brought. Secondly your staff refused to fix the problem. Worsted place for quality alterations. Just pickup my brand new suit from this plac.. All I needed was to get my pants hemmed. I specifically told them that I wanted my pants to be slightly longer to give it a nice drop at the bottom and to make sure that my hemm wasn't more than a 2 inches. Well, my pants aren't slightly longer. In fact, they feel a bit short for my taste. In addition, the hemmed at the bottom is about 4 itches tall and very visible in my black pants. I have been going to Make it Fit in Brea California for several years for mostly hemming. Yesterday I picked up a pair of pants that got hemmed and after I tried them on at home found that they were not hemmed correctly. They were still dragging on the floor. I'm so disappointed with make it fit. The first time I went, the first altar was really nice, everything went well, the next Monday I went to pick up my dress, they told me the dress wasn't ready bc she forgot to put my appointment down, and she was on her vacation for whole week (one of the worker told me). She talked to me on the phone and said she was in an emergency situation. They wanted to WAIT for few hours to come back to try. I had to go back work so i made another appointment. Third time I want, wedding dress wasn't fit still, so I had to sit at the store and WAITING again for another alter lady to come. The fourth time that I truly thought everything will be just fine. She forgot to saw the cups inside the wedding dress. She asked me to give her 20 mins. What can I do! Once I got home tried to hang my dress, I found they cut off the inside hanging strips without letting me know. My wedding dress is heavy so I always hang with those extra strips. Then I checked the dress strips I saw a piece of dress strip fell off bc of the weight. My poor wedding dress had to laying on the floor. I was so sad to see that, I decided to call and tell them I need to speak to the owner The fifth time I went, the owner came and they put the inside strips back and apologized. He explained to me why they removed the inside strips, they just AGAIN forgot to saw them back. I was just SO frustrated with them, a lot of time been wasted. This place does NOT do a good job hemming. I took my bridesmaid dress here to get it hemmed up. They gave me a date to pick it up by, and even though I came a day later than the date they specified, the dress was still not done. They told me to come back in an hour since the stitching came out, so I said okay and came back later. I tried it on at the shop and everything seem to be okay so I took it home. The event was the following day, and the stitching all came undone after less than an hour in the dress! Horrible! Luckily, I had some last minute clothing tape to tape it all back up. Whew, but that shouldn't have been the case after paying the price I paid for a simple hem. read more
