Terrible customer service. I needed to get my brand new work ants hemmed for my first day of work and when I tried them on to see where to alter, she had pinned it very low down. I asked multiple times for it to go higher as it was still practically hitting the ground and she was pretty much refusing. She pinned them higher in the end but barely. Once I received them for the finished product they genuinely still hit the ground and I have to go get them re-hemmed somewhere else. I was even convinced she didn't even alter them. $30 down the drain. Terrible. read more

She is usually great but this time she returns my dress with an ink stain on the front. Wouldn't apologize or make it right. Erik's Alterations is my go to place for hemming and mending. I am short. So most things I find thrifting, or from Costco, etc need to be shorten. The lady at Erik's is great. Price is reasonable. It takes 2-4 days depending on how busy they are and how big is the job. I tried the following service: Shorten men's suit pants, shortening women jeans, dress pants, replace elastic waistband, and shortening dresses. If you show her a picture, the lady can do it. I once brought her an Indian dress to alter the style and she did it. The place originally was next to Cha for Tea out in UTC. It was moved to the current upstairs location long time ago. Took a skirt there and had it hemmed. The skirt was fine but the woman could not find the skirt. There is no communications between the front and the back. The area needs to be cleaned and things put in order. That may help them to find articles of cloothes. read more

i have been going here for years and I have probably spent thousands of dollars over the years- i bring in a new leather skirt and ask her to hem and try it on and she charges me to do the work- i come back to pick it up and the leather skirt was totally ruined- they ironed it or had it near their ironing and it melted it - it was totally ruined and she denies that they did that- i had already paid her do the hemming- besides totally denying it she would not even give me money back i prepaid her---- i left the skirt there and asked her to reuimburse me for the cost $350 dollars - or course no response or phone call- I mean i try on a burnt skirt and ask her to hem it---- very unprofessional- owner after all these years of supporting her- bad place never go there again read more

Lan is amazing! You cannot beat her efficiently and pricing. She is very attentive and knows what she's doing. I have been satisfied with her work and help every time. I had a horrible experience with the two women working there. I brought my Varvatos lamb skin thin jacket to have both sleeves brought up 1.5" each. we agreed upon 6 days to complete, (since she did my Hugo Boss thin jacket sleeve's basically in an hour). long story short, the Latina woman was working in the morning when I came for my jacket, she kept tell me it was ready and she was looking for it. after 15 minutes of this, I said where is it ifs its here and done. wasn't there, wasn't done! The Asian lady came in with it in a plastic bag partly done, but not finished! I had to wait until next day, but was planning on wearing that night! They both lied to me what was going on, and the alteration was bad, and ruined my jacket! Not sure my recourse yet. read more

Always pretty bustling for a small store! I decided to come here as opposed to make the drive to my usual tailor in Lake Forest since the location is so convenient. I wanted to get the sleeves on a linen sundress taken in. It was not a rush job; I was given a pickup date for 2 weeks later. No problem! Unfortunately, the sleeves were taken in almost 1 inch more than what was originally pinned. When I asked if the sleeves could be let it out a little, the employee noted that they had not left any viable seam allowance :/ Indeed, the seam allowance was trimmed down to 1/8th~ inch already. The employee agreed that the sleeves were taken in too far, as one side was riding up more than the other, but said the construction of the dress was to blame (the puckering side included a breast pocket, which pulled on the underarm seam). They also suggested that my body was to blame, stating that one breast might be larger. I understand that could be the case for other clients, but I have a proportional chest ... The newly altered seam essentially rests right alongside the breast pocket, making for an awkward, tight fit. Also, the altered shoulder seam puckers up instead of laying flat :( I paid $30 to ruin an otherwise serviceable dress... The sad thing is that this dress is no longer in production, as it's small-batch from an LA-based artist. Erik's Alterations seems to be an excellent, affordable option for basic hemming, but I wouldn't go here for anything more complicated. read more

Quality - 2 stars. Very inconsistent quality Price - 5 stars. This is probably the cheapest tailoring in the Irvine area. Hemming is $10 for a pair of pants. But you get what you pay for. In separate visits, I have taken three pants/trousers to get hemmed. The first pair were perfect! It looked like it hadn't even been hemmed, super clean lines. The second pair was wonky, where the pant leg was crooked. The third pair, the seam didn't look great but it wasn't obvious enough to be unwearable, but one leg was 0.5" shorter than the other. read more

Highly recommend! I have been going to Erik's alterations for over 5 years. Friendly service and they aim to get your clothes back as soon as possible. I would not look any further for a place for alterations. I am very picky with alterations. Of all the years I have been going here only once did I return a pair of jeans that I got altered (I wanted them a bit higher and above the ankle, as I said I am very picky!). They fixed it again on the spot with no extra charge. I read a review that the place looked disheveled and there was so many clothes everywhere. That is because Erik's Alterations is the best and everyone who is smart who goes there! I also read a review that someone's pants were not ready after two days. I would be more than happy to wait a little extra for something to be fixed knowing I was going to the best place! I wish I could give 6 stars! read more

Amazing job on alterations and the price is very reasonable compared to other alteration places in Irvine. The suite is a bit hard to find since it's in the building. Park near Chick-fil-a (if possible). The entrance to the building is by the yoga place near the winding walkaway. Once inside, go up to the second floor and it's pretty much smooth sailing in terms of locating the place. Parking: free since it's at the University towne center but it's a bit of a pain to find. Be patient and a spot will open. read more

I don't even want to give this place one star because she totally ruined my husband's brand new AX suit jacket. We took the jacket for shorten the sleeves and she pull the inside lining when she was sewing and made the whole arm wrinkled. She also made a hole on the sleeve when she removed a button to shorten the sleeve. I took the jacket and showed her what happened and she said it's not her fault but it's a manufacturer's fault. Apparently this place moved, but it is still within the University Town Center (UTC). They used to be by Eureka and Cha for Tea. Now they are located on second floor. Go up the stairs near 24 Hour Fitness and find suite 242. Someone recommended this place to me for dress alterations. I had a satin strapless bridesmaid dress with a zipper in the back that needed to be tightened. When I tried to find it the first time, I called them to ask for specific directions. The guy who answered the phone barely spoke English. He told me to call after 10 am because the owner lady was running late... Seriously? I was appalled. Nevertheless, I found the place without his help. He left some safety pins in the dress to mark how much to alter the dress and let me drop it off. I came back three business days later (with the weekend in between), and the dress was ready to go. When I tried it on, the dress fit perfectly! I have no idea how she did it because I couldn't tell what happened. Maybe it was a simple surgery, but she charged $25. The lady was really nice. I think I just found my go-to clothing alteration place. Yay! read more
