While the provider (Eddie) appeared to be a nice and helpful person, the service he provided left much to be desired and it is not worth a dime. We would go so far as to say this is a CON JOB. We contacted him about getting rid of some squirrels from our house. He outlined his charge consisted of a base fee of $250 plus $75 for every squirrel he took out and another sum to close up the opening(s). He further explained that since there could be some hiding between walls, the number of squirrels could be pretty high, hence he offers an unlimited package for about $700. We therefore decided to take the unlimited package. When he came, we showed him an area inside where the squirrels had invaded. He told us that he would go up to the roof to find the opening(s) they had created. Not more than 15 minutes later, he descended. He told us that he found one opening, where he placed a wire trap. My wife asked him how many squirrels he took out. He said that the squirrels would come out through the trap over time, and we would have to call him after all sounds of movement by the squirrels had disappeared. This was not what we expected. Reluctantly, we agreed to pay him while we hoped this would be over by the following day. But, for more than a week, we lived with this nightmare. Meantime, we had to contract a carpenter to repair the damage caused inside by the squirrels. When Eddie came back, he went up the roof and retrieved his trap. He told us that he closed up the hole, though we did not see him take up any wood or other materials to do a proper job of it. He had requested his full payment up front. Another trap, he tells you that if you pay in cash, there would be no sales tax, so we fell for that. Eddie did nothing, but placed a simple wire trap on the roof rim. The device is sold for about $30. Contrary to what he had told us, he does not catch any animal. read more

Quick, easy, reliable, affordable, and most importantly honest exterminator in NYC The only thing more annoying than the mice that seem to find their way into my brownstone every summer is an exterminator who promises to end it but can't. And exterminators in many ways are like mechanics...if you don't know cars you don't know if they're doing the right thing. Well after my experiences with Eddie and MPE I will never use another exterminator in NYC ever again. He's not only extremely professional and effective but is a very honest straightforward businessman you can count on and trust. We have mice every summer and have been offered half dozen solutions to stop them but they don't work for long. Eddie came in and in less than an hour found the random small holes all over our kitchen and other rooms they were crawling through and created poison traps that were not only safe and mindful of our 1 yr old but worked like a charm. All mice gone within a day. No nonsense, no nervousness, no time wasted and no worries letting Eddia in our home to do his job. Excellent exterminator you can't go wrong with! read more

The Absolute Best!!!!! If you don't want animal/insect interlopers overtaking your home call Private Exterminating. The objective is to rid your home of the problem, not quiet temporarily, so the exterminator has to come back over and over. I truly can't praise them enough. It's been 6 yrs. since I had a roach problem..never another roach seen. Most recently mice sneaked in.. Eddie came out sprinkled some "white magic dust" laid some baits in the attic and 2 days later it was over. No surprise mice running out eliciting screams from family members... me in particular (I hate em w/ a passion). What I like most is that Eddie is always courteous, never condescending, even to your pig tenants. He ans. questions and offers sound advice to prevent future problems..i.e. "Eddie how does this powder stuff work?"..."Well, the rodents are in the walls loving and licking one another" .. Reallllly, turning my home into a free motel.. I don't think so!!!! Thank You Private Exterminating!!!! read more

I called private exterminating based on reviews to take care of my mice problems. I'm glad I listened to the reviews !! after today's service, I could not be more satisfied with the thorough search that was done in my apartment. The entire process was claimed from start to finish, each corner , or area of the house was inspected and I was explained what was found or not found. My exterminator Mike listened to all my concerns and checked everywhere, I heard the mice. he was very reassuring the way he handled everything professionally and rejoices whenever he found a hole that needed to be covered. I could not be more content with this service & if there's anyone with a phobia for mice after this service you will feel 100% more at peace. I hope not to find another sitting, but I went with the 3 month plan to make sure that if follow is needed I get that taken care of, but after the work Mike did I don't anticipate more unwanted mice. read more

Eddie did a great job and was very knowledgeable. He showed up, assessed the situation moved the stove where the mouse was and located it. After it ran away he cornered it behind the refrigerator and used glue traps to catch it before it escaped. This all happened in a matter of minutes, that is how quickly and efficiently Eddie was. After he caught it he then proceeded with precautionary measures to ensure if there were any more they would all be exterminated. I would highly recommend him to anyone who had this kind of issue. He was very easy to reach and answered all my follow up questions with great detail. He was affordable and we were able to make a last minute appointment and he arrived within hours. He was understanding and reassured me that this issue would was being handled the best way possible. read more

He explained how it works and all the options. He literally checked every corner, every closet, he moved the stove and found each and every hole in the apartment. I cannot be more appreciative and happy with their service than I am now. I had a rat not a mice but a rat in my apartment and desperately needed someone to come out ASAP. I had a exterminator at our home within an hour. Tomas was our exterminator and he was excellent. Would highly recommend this company especially Tomas. Thank you guys so much!!! read more

Great job! We had a rat problem and we're at the end of our rope trying to get rid of it. If you've ever had a rat problem, you know it is much more extreme and concerning than a mouse problem. Eddie was very professional with a very reassuring attitude - he showed up and immediately went to work figuring out where the rat had come in, bating and eventually removing the caught rat from our apartment. We have not had any issues since, but if we do I would not hesitate to call Eddie back. Highly recommended. read more

Eddie was professional and came with an arsenal of tools to get rid of our mouse problem. He arrived on time and walked us through the different locations where the mice could be coming in from and explained the type of method he uses to get rid of them. He even returned a few weeks later to check on the problem areas in the apartment to see if there had been any activity. He really went above and beyond to help us get rid of our pest problem. Highly recommend! read more
