In response, they threatened to call the police and told me I was committing fraud in front of everyone - it was humiliating. I, of course, tipped my stylist and left the salon reiterating that they did not have my permission to charge my credit card. I feel like Goldplaited is the like the Lettuce Entertain You of hair and beauty. Like... you can ask for completely different styles or even get different makeup artists (like when you walk into different LEY restaurants) but the level of service and outcome is consistently on point to your level of satisfaction. One time I asked for a stylish pony, another time vintage hair half up/half down, and both times I was obsessed! The makeup artists know how to make you look natural but elevated. Your skin looks like your skin, just better. For make up, I've requested twice (from two different artists) "a natural, me - just better, look," and also a soft glam warm smokey eye - all of which were PERFECT! I did not have to touch up through out the day. All I did was either add more moisturizing spray or UD's All Nighter Spray. Note: If you want airbrush, request it beforehand when you make your reservation. An added plus is that these artists have RANGE! I'm in my 30s but I've seen ladies with mature skin (50+), Gen Z, I mean the skin types ran the gamut and all of the ladies that walked out of there looked beautiful AF. Not to mention the different hair types and requests that they knocked out of the park. The girl that did my hair (twice) was confident and knew exactly what to do even with a brief description or photo. Her confidence gave me confidence knowing she knew her sh*t. And my hair came out perfect every time. The place is very clean and I've consistently seen the artists wash their brushes between each new client. Making appointments online is easy and metered parking is always easy to find. The makeup and beauty industry can be hit or miss but whoever is hiring/training at this place deserves a damn award. I decided to book Blowout Junkie for my bridal party hair. It was good I did that because no one responded to my email and I was on a crunch with my wedding 2 weeks away. I probably called an additional 2 times before the wedding day to ensure my appointments were still on the calendar and to confirm the artists. They were able to have 3 stylists so the day started at 7:45AM until 10:00AM. Blowouts include a wash for $55 and Updos don't include a wash and are $95. Everyone was on time which was great. We had 2 blowouts and 5 updos for the party. I think everyone's hair looked great. There was one auntie that was not happy about her updo (but she didn't voice it) so I don't blame the hair stylist on that and believe that the stylist would have fixed it had she said anything. It's important to note (with any stylist) to bring lots of examples of what you want so the stylist knows or to bring photos of ideas and they can choose what might look best for you. I also don't like that they try to upsell you about add-ons. They already do this when you book! Once is enough...! The woman who washed my hair and styled it/blow dried it was friendly and kind. She took her time, which is not itself bad, but it might be surprising if you book a 45 minute appointment and are in any sort of rush. I think $64 is a bit steep, especially since there are quality blowout spots that aren't that much, even today!
