I personally think it's weird that the employees come into your dressing room and help you into wedding dresses and don't ask if you are okay with it. I've been to several places and they ask the bride what they feel comfortable with. The alterations are awful. I felt like I was be upsold to the whole time. All I said to the alterations lady was the word "no" cause she wanted to add things I clearly told her I didn't want added on my dress when I first walked in the door. It was so frustrating for me. It's cool to see other ladies altering dresses for customers to see, but one lady was eating food WHILE SHE WAS TOUCHING AND ALTERING A WEDDING DRESS. I didn't want my dress being touched that way!! i was looking forward to this appointment since the lady i spoke to on the phone the day previous to my appointment was so kind, present and energetic!! though i've heard negative things about this place, i wanted to give them the benefit of doubt. i came ready with photo examples of what i wanted for my consultant. once she brought out examples for me but none were what i had shown her except one. most of my appointment time was gone due to waiting around and eventually needing to go in the back and look at all the dresses since she didnt know what to bring out for me to try. i was disappointed bc the other consultant who was helping someone else who was there the same time as me, was being very attentive and energetic- helping her bride- whereas i had the complete opposite. i had to constantly lead conversation since she was very uninterested-she was not present at all and made me feel like she did not want to be there. by the end of my appointment, my consultant only handed me a card and did not seem to give me the time of day to talk more about total costs and future plans. maybe she was tired or maybe new? but it was an all around negative experience when dress shopping should be a positive one !! grace just missed the mark ): read more

So grateful this was my first wedding dress shop experience! My mom and I drove all the way from San Diego and we're absolutely blown away by what an amazing experience this was. So worth the drive. We had two other appts at Mary's and Alta Moda and both we great in their own way but Prichétt really showed quality and friendliness as well as professionalism. My consultant's name was Jane and she really helped me envision what I wanted. My fiancé and I are going for a California country wedding and I wanted simple but fun for a dress. We realized at the end of the appt, the first dress that Jane picked out for me was actually the one I ended up buying on the spot. Also love their "love at first sight" discount! So smart! I absolutely loved my wedding dress that I purchased from Pritchett! The consultants that work here are sweet and they have a pretty selection of dresses. However, I've talked with 3 other girls (who have all purchased dresses from Pritchett) that have thought the same thing... that is once these guys get your money for the dress they don't care about you anymore. The seamstresses were not even nice or trying to work with me on my dress (very rude). I never got my dress bag or my bridal box that they give you once you purchase a dress! They were out and told me they'd give me a call once they came in & they just completely forgot about me. I'm frustrated. I had an appt lined up to work with someone, and she texted me the night before saying hey, I have someone else who wants your spot, can we move you? Now, i want to emphasize that I'm actually a flexible person. But, I responded with no I can't move it, and then she suggested a different time anyway. I had this appt to feel them out, and scheduling the appt and then this just made me feel as if I wasn't important. This place is amazing. They have a great selection of dresses, but their customer service was the best part! We worked with Maddie, and she was a gem. She grabbed other dresses that she thought I might like, and one that she chose ended up being the dress I bought. She wasn't pushy at all, and genuinely cared about how I felt in the dress. She was so sweet and easy to talk to, it was like shopping with a friend. The manager is also a gem! I found a dress that I liked, but they weren't sure if I would be able to get it in time for the wedding. Tiffany was on the phone right then to see what the time frame would be. i wanted to leave an updated review. i have talked to 3 other girls who have used the alteration place that feel the same way! the way they do alterations kind of feels like a scam. it's a dress and us girls our bodies are always changing! the rooms they have you in make you really feel terrible about yourself. the lighting is horrible. the rooms aren't clean and updated etc. i had 3 other friends tell me they left pritchett alterations in tears feeling like the gown they bought looks nothing like the gown that is being altered on them. i too had this same experience! nothing wrong with the employees i love all of them and they were so kind and sweet. i just think a new set up is crucial for them. i even had a friend tell me "the entire time i got my dress altered i questioned if i even liked my dress + was so upset, but luckily once the wedding day came it looked more like it did when i tried it on" im wondering if they were to update their alterations place and make it nicer more girls would feel more confident! read more

Do not get in-house alterations here. I had a great experience trying on and buying my dress, but getting alterations here was a fiasco. Not only did the seamstress, Estela, not do the alterations that I asked her to do (I asked to have lace added to the front of the dress so that it would touch the floor--she only added a little lace so that my toes still poke out), but she was not up-front about costs and their book-keeping was incredibly unprofessional and sloppy. For instance, in our first meeting, I told her all of the alterations that I wanted, as well as the fact that I wanted a veil. She gave me an estimate of the costs ($580) and said that my costs would not exceed that estimate. She also said that the cost of the lace would be added on, but did not tell me the cost of the lace when I asked several times over the course of my fittings. It always felt like she was avoiding my question. She also never told me the cost of the veil. When I went to pick up my dress, I was shocked by how unprofessional the book-keeping was. I was literally standing at the register, about to pay, when I asked the girl to check something with Estela for me. Estela hadn't added in the cost of the lace or the veil, and had the wrong number of bustles listed for my dress. She added them in and the price jumped to $735 ($155 more than she told me it would be, having never told me the cost of the lace or veil, even though I asked). I was rather peeved, but I still paid the charge. THEN, as I was about to leave with my dress, the seamstress added an additional $23 charge for lace. I found that so unprofessional. I had literally already paid and was leaving. I felt like they were holding my dress hostage and kept tacking on extra charges. If you make a mistake in book-keeping, you own up to it. Overall, I paid $178 more than they said I would. The girl helping me noticed that I was upset and gave me the number of the owner. I called her, and she was not helpful at all. She kept telling me why the cost was what it was (not listening to the fact that my problem was the lack of communication and the unprofessionality of the book-keeping). She did offer to fix the alterations and add an extra layer of lace to the bottom, but said that I would be paying full price for it (both for time and the super-expensive lace). She said that she could refund my veil, but I would need to return it. With two weeks left until my wedding, that didn't seem like enough time to find an adequate replacement. She was clearly not accommodating nor willing to work with me. Overall, I was super disappointed with alterations and management. The whole experience (as well as the poor quality of the alterations), really tainted my love for me dress. I'm hoping I can get past that in the next week so that I can be satisfied with it on my wedding day. I think not going to Pritchett would save you a lot of stress. read more

PriThis is a tough one because the salespeople were all super nice and their sales techniques are stellar. They definitely know how to pressure you how to buy right there on the spot, even if you are only coming to look at their selection. That is understandable, but what I am having a hard time with is that they are located in the Missionary Mall and give the impression that they are super honest and upright, and you want to trust them! I learned the hard way that their high pressure techniques were actually very misleading. They made me feel if I didn't order my dress four months in advance, that it wouldn't be here in time because of shipping issues due to Covid, and that if I bought today, that I could save $250, and that any alterations could be made so not to worry about it if the dress wasn't quite right when trying it on. My mom actually thought by the way they were talking that the alternations were included in the price so the extra money would be worth it. That was NOT the case. Found out later that the alterations would be around $500 extra, and we already overpaid about $400 for the dress, and there is a no return no matter what policy. DO NOT step foot into this shop unless you have visited a bunch of other bridal shops first, and they are the only ones that have exactly what you want. You will pay more than necessary and won't be able to return it if it's ends up not working for any reason. Went to The Perfect Dress in Holladay and had a WAY better experience. They were super understanding with my situation and didn't push any dresses on me. I was able to find a dress I loved that fit great and looked amazing and there was no high pressure sales pitch that I needed to order today or it wouldn't be there in time. I felt very comfortable there and respected, unlike my other experience, where it seemed it was just all about the sale at my expense. Pritchétt Bridal has the best selection of gowns out of any of the other shops I visited in Utah and Salt Lake county! Their prices are reasonable and their consultants were all so nice and us feel important and valued right from the time we entered the store. They were great with what we needed and in the timeframe we had! All of their alterations are done in house, which helped us feel more comfortable buying a gown because the seamstress working on it was able to talk with us about the process and end result.
