I purchased some t shirts in a Black Friday online sale and when they arrived, I loved everything about them... except the fit around my stomach. Very baggy, I looked like I was wearing a box. However, not wanting to give up on the shirts, I searched for some local alteration businesses and to my surprise I found BYU laundry. I brought my t shirts in and the entire process was so easy. I was a little concerned at how quickly the seamstress sized up my needs (I was worried she might not measure properly) but judging by the results, I had no need to worry. They did an amazing job... and it was only $6 per t shirt!! Considering the shirts were only $10 each, I'm walking away with tailored t shirts that fit my body exactly for only $16... that's UNREAL. I decided to clean my wedding dress here because the prices listed on their website were relatively less expensive than other dry-cleaners I was looking into. Very friendly service, they were accurate with their estimate of when the dress would be ready for pickup. My only complaint is that they neglected to return the zippered dress-bag I brought in initially with my dress. So if you choose to clean your wedding dress here, don't bring it in a dress-bag or you might not get it back! read more

I dropped off a suit that needed altering. The people there working were all beyond friendly and efficient. They told me it would take two weeks due to work load. It took 12 days. Always good to beat a deadline. The alterations were/are perfect. The fit is like a tailored Italian suit now having lost 30 pounds since I bought it. I dropped off another suit and 2 sports coats now. One was a challenge and it required a little committee discussion but that was quick and efficient too. They discuss the how and the why if one is interested and the prices are fair. I have traveled extensively requiring seamstress services often. This is the best place I've been to in 30 years. Be extra cautious! Took my wedding dress here to be cleaned, it got put back in the dirty bag so it was black on bottom. During the second cleaning to get the black out they "lost/threw away" my $300 sash and $100 veil. After ignoring me for weeks while they "looked" for it I eventually went in and the manager said he'd most likely thrown it away but would "work something out". That something was a measly $100 refund. That hardly covers the cleaning cost, not to mention the huge detriment of losing the sentimental value of those items that I was saving for my daughter's wedding. They were generally polite, but the manager I spoke with never apologized once for losing my precious things. I'm devastated. They wouldn't be able to replace the loss, I know that, but the least they could do was apologize and even offer the whole dollar value. DON'T BRING VALUABLES TO BE CLEANED HERE. Update to review the tailoring services: I brought in about half a dozen clothes to be tailored. I was told up front that the wait would be a month to a month and a half but I figured I wasn't wearing them regardless so why not. So that same day a seamstress has me put the clothes ok an tell her what alterations I want, marks it, and makes notes. ~6 weeks later come in to pick clothes up and all but one are horrendous and unwearable. I spent close to sixty dollars not to mention the price of the items for them to be tailored vastly too small, too short, just hideously and exactly against what I requested. Bizarre. Years ago, We used BYU Laundry to repair a snowmobile jacket that might have otherwise been thrown away. It was repaired quickly and well. And we were amazed at the reasonable price. Since that time, we have routinely had my husband's dress shirts cleaned and starched, dress and suit alterations done, and repairs such as sleeping bags done. We have consistently had wonderful service and beautiful results every time. We so appreciate the reasonable prices and the alterations department is spot on, always helpful and able to transform what doesn't work into something that is wearable or usable. I bought a new suit and wanted to have it dry cleaned. I was disappointed when I picked it up to find that the creases in my pants were not straight, or even close to being along the midline. I have not been able to fix the bad creases they put in my pants sense. Not impressed. read more

Miserable customer service. I called to figure out the pricing for an alteration, and tried to say that I was going to check the pricing at other places in Orem/Provo, and I would get back to them, but as soon as I said I was going to check the pricing at other places, the seamstress I was talking to hung up.
