Soap Box - Large dryers

Soap Box

We breed Golden Doodles. After their heat, things can get very messy. We have three large "My…read morePillow" dog beds that needed a good washing. Soap Box extra large washers and dryer were perfect. $4 to wash each one and $2 to dry each one. However the equipment wasn't my inspiration to write this review. It was the employee, Cicily. Somehow she could tell I was a Laundromat novice. Maybe the awkward way I was inspecting the washers.... She walked me through what machines would be best for certain loads, how the machines operated so I knew how to use them, and especially her willingness to go the extra mile. When she discovered what stains I was trying to get out, she grabbed some peroxide and showed me how to apply it. I will visit a business based on my needs, but when one offers an experience that make you feel they really care about you, I'll find reasons to come back.

I came out after doing my laundry and my car was booted. The employee there wasn't at all understanding and just said if he made an exception for me he would have to for everyone. I saw no signs outside about booting. He told me he would only take $60 in cash. I said I would never return after this and he only said, "I'm sorry". That's how much they care about their customers or customer service. Apparently this is how Soap Box makes their money, no warnings or help just charge you $60 in cash. I feel very taken advantage of.

They had plenty of others dryers in the household size and the extra large capacity, but I didn't county them. They got hot! ATM INSIDE 2 CHANGE machines 4 Rolling Clothing racks for hanging your own hangers and a bin to put laundry in to bring to dryers 1/2 of the washers were right across from the dryers making it easier to transfer laundry not needing the rolling racks Dryers were HOT! (Aka FAST DRYING) 1 giant farmhouse sink with faucet and paper towels. (You could use to wash stains out of clothes before the wash) Laundry soap, softener vending machine (I think they're $1 each packet) in case you forget your soap and drier sheets Clean concrete floors (no nasty funky tile floors with slime in the cracks) Table space for folding all around Two clean bathrooms - male and female stocked A fun room for kids and adults with 5 different arcade machines, a soda machine and a snack machine and a tiny tv (couldn't find a remote, but a basic channel was on with the news and judge Judy. It had a tiny kids table and 4 chairs to sit down to wait. CONS: No wi-fi, (but I quickly found I had no time to use it anyway with the cycles being so fast I had to keep checking to see when I needed to switch) Parking lot very full because it's right next to several other businesses. (Make sure you plan to carry your laundry a little ways, but not too far). I just waited for someone to leave because I didn't have bags to carry my stuff in. Others were backing their cars up in the handicapped spot to unload and load and then parking This business doesn't show up in a y'all search because it's not listed as a laundromat or washateria HEADS UP: DO NOT PLAN TO LEAVE WHILE YOURE DOING LAUNDRY! The machines don't have locks, and a LOT OF PEOPLE USE THIS PLACE.

I came here to do my weekly laundry today and had a pleasant experience. There were plenty of…read moreavailable washers and dryers to handle the moderate Sunday afternoon crowd, so I didn't have to wait for an available machine. I used the medium-sized washer for $3.00, and 3 dryer cycles for $.75. So, all said and done, I spent $3.75 and my laundry took a little more than an hour to wash and dry. I really like how the dryers are directly across from the washers, making it really easy to transfer the wet laundry. They also had a coin machine that I used to change dollars into quarters. And they have free wi-fi. My only complaint is that most of the chairs in the waiting area are in direct sunlight (during the winter), making it a bit unpleasant if there aren't other chairs available. Would be nice if the windows had shades. But I consider that to be just a minor complaint.

With that being said, I did take away 1 star because some of the people who go here have no decorum. I started my washer and left to run errands, and when I came back literally just 30 mins after my washer had stopped, somebody took all my clothes out of the washer and left them in a basket. Talk about invasive! That is disgusting behavior. No one should be touching other people's clothes without their permission. It's not like there were no other washers open, there are literally only 3 other washers running as I type this. I can't even bear the thought of someone else's hands touching my clothes. Learn some manners, people. It's not that hard to have some respect for other people's property! Update: Took away another star. Even the owner admitted to having his own personal clothes stolen from his laundromat. Yet, he is unwilling to do anything about it. "Wash at your risk," he says. Anyway, Oasis is down the street. A little more expensive, but they always have someone working there and no one will touch/steal your things.
