There is a party room at the back of the building, which takes up a whole street corner. The room is large; it contained four long tables and plenty of folding chairs. There's a large screen tv mounted in a little corner, with two armchairs and two little tables. The bathroom was small but sparkling clean, although we did have to ask for paper towel. It was lovely and cool on that hot day, but we did have to constantly remind everyone to close the door! Everyone was given a quick tour of the main space, and rules were gone over while parents signed waivers. They were given 5-10 minutes of free play, then gathered into teams for the Nerf battles. I have to say I enjoyed the music they played (Thriller and Livin' on a Prayer, to name just two songs) and the balcony from which I could watch and video the action on the floor. Those Nerf battles were WILD!! They had a dodgeball game after collecting up the guns, then it was time to head back to the party room for food. They keep a very tight schedule and walked into the party room 5 minutes before our time ended, to make sure we cleaned up our mess. I believe they allow 30 minutes between parties so they can disinfect, etc. Parking was ample although a little tough to spot as it's uphill, past the building. It's just an empty lot that's not paved, but hey! it's free! Oh, and I would be really remiss to leave out the thoughtful inclusion of a toddler play area. It has a pod swing (careful, it swallows kids), a tiny climbing rope, some toys & books, and a ball pit (would not let me kid in during covid, but that's me). It was perfect for one family's rambunctious 3 year old & their weary mom! They also enjoyed bouncing on the trampoline (one kid at a time) and playing with the huge connect four game. From the look of it, all the kids and at least two of the grownups had a fantastic time. It's a bit pricey but my DD and SIL said well worth it for having all that stuff taken care of without any work on our parts.

They allowed us first to have a tour around the studio and showed us what it has to offer. Willis responds quickly when I ask him questions via online or text and he was very professional. Studio 87 has enough parking spots -- we had about 50 people (with kids though). Their staff did not interfere with our party whatsoever. The space was enough for 8 long tables (that's all that we needed but there's space for more). They have a kitchen with every basic needs such as the fridge, coffee maker, microwave, and a couple of long tables. They have two restrooms. One of which has a diaper changing station. They have a bar, a TV (we did not really use them as a "bar," but just as a dessert table). They have an iPad which could play music throughout the entire room. I mean, seriously -- a lot of my guests were asking how I found out about this place. I honestly just found it online and it is within the vicinity of where I and most of my friends and family live but I am so glad I found out about it. It is very modern and the space is big enough for pretty much any event I could think of (birthday party, baby shower, bridal shower, wedding reception, art gallery, photoshoots, etc.). She helped with every detail and was so caring during the event, most people thought she was a relative. There were a couple of potential snafus that could have happened (not her fault at all, it was something to do with the building) and she said, "don't worry, I got this." And she did. I put time into my look on the day I visited Activate Baltimore. I thought I was cute and prepared , wearing sneakers and jeans. I should have worn my Spandex set and slouch socks. It woulda gave hot mom. Anyways, this is a sweat pants activity. Side bar: I think it would be really cool if ACTIVATE BALTIMORE had athletic gear specifically made for this activity. You will be playing games that make you feel like you're playing dodge ball. Duos and groups of 3 or 4 , competing in laser beam limbo , memory games , hopping, shooting lasers, laser Tetris and pac man adjacent games. I didn't realize it at the beginning but you will earn points for each room you enter and will be ranked according to your skill. Some rooms are popular and may have a long line . You have to wait your turn. They have lockers for stuff. Not a lot of stuff. My friend brought a red cooler full of water for his birthday celebration. He's 40 and very thirsty. After 15 min of playing games , I began to sweat. I was nervous and afraid to be musty. The rooms are small and it would linger . Jesus . ( What is this life I'm living ? ) I took a potty break.
