It was the close-out event to a month-long celebration of my birthday and it was the perfect closer. I've long wanted to do a glass-blowing class so when this popped up I was excited to get my friends together to try it with me. Admittedly, it was not initially what I was expecting (there was no formal class or long instruction or presentation) BUT it actually turned out to be even better because it is more of a hands-on experience with individual attention from the staff along each step of the process. We had a reservation for 5pm and once we all arrived, we were given the safety breakdown and clear instructions on what we would be doing, and then we were off! Everyone chose something personal and had a blast creating it with the guidance of the kind, attentive and helpful staff. Each member in our party went one at a time with a different staffer to begin their creation, which was great because it allowed time and opportunity for us to capture video memories and photos of each other during the process. The prices are extremely reasonable, which I love because I tend to be a frugal fanny at times! I only wish the options for the class projects included a few more piece variations at each price range ($25 to $70). The projects from start to finish do not take very long, which is a good thing and bad thing...if you don't have anything planned for afterwards :-) At the end of the event, my friends all had something unique that they created in remembrance of our time together. I spoke to the representative from Dalissa and found out they rent and deliver all types of items for weddings, parties, or any type of function. I checked out their website and saw they had everything from fancy chairs and tables to floral arches and special event items. I made contact and decided to rent the rose bush and cherry blossom trees. The delivery went seamlessly and so did the pick-up. My guests were blown away at the look and feel it gave the room. I'm extremely happy that I decided to rent these items, they went with my theme and they looked so real and elegant. I initially thought about making my own arch, but this was so cost effective and it was taken back afterwards, so I didn't need to figure out what I was going to do with it after. Plus, who can beat a set-up, delivery, and pick-up without me having to lift a finger. I will absolutely use this company in the future for any party rentals I may require.

My…read morefriends and I bought our tickets for $25 on Groupon and then went to the Paint Nite website to register for our evening of painting. You can choose by location, artist, painting, or date. We did a Paint Nite at El Rodeo in Edgewood. We were about 20 minutes early and the four of us were able to get a row of seats together. We started a few minutes after six. The session began with the instructor making us say a funny Paint Nite oath about how we would not complain that our paintings were horrible. Everyone was given an apron, white canvas, three different size paint brushes and a plate with white, black, red, blue and yellow globs of paint. Following the directions from our instructor, everyone in the class mixed colors and painted a beautiful beach scene. I do not consider myself talented in the art department, but my painting turned out beautifully. With the instructor and assistant, our group had a great time at Paint Nite. We enjoyed ourselves and the time we spent together making our masterpieces. For my group, it was everyone's first time, but we were all very excited and would like to plan another night out doing the same with more of our friends. I think this is a great idea for friends, couples (even though the majority of the class was women) and a night out. You do not have to drink, but it can make the paintings look better for some people! Tips: Arrive early for a good selection of seats. Wear clothes that you don't mind getting a little paint on (it might not happen, but it can and did to me!) but still look nice because they will be taking pictures to put on their Facebook page. And most importantly, have fun!
