While scouring for a team building event for work, we decided to reach out to this company. Their website is forthcoming with a ton of information, but they were helpful on the backend of things. Purchasing tickets was easy, and it's great that tickets were available until the day of the event. I have never been to one of these things before but was kind of exciting. I have heard that it can be cheesy or campy, but I'm up for the camp. Who doesn't love dinner and a show? We had a large group, around 40 people or so and with prior warning they were able to make it work where our whole group sat in a designated area. That also kind of played into the whole way this played out. Before you come here they will send you an email with information on how to proceed. You will get confirmation numbers after you select your meal. Chicken, fish, or vegetarian are your choices. They also tell you that the actors will be intermingled throughout the crowd. Having four tables taken up by your group cuts down on who the actors are and helps you out in the end. The show is entertaining. I laughed a few times to the point where I had heads turn my way. The actors were spot on for their script and at the end of each act, which you should pay attention to, you are given a QR code to go through the clues. As the show is going on you are treated to a meal. But it is not obviously the best selection of food. As this is being hosted at a hotel, you are eating hotel food that you might find if you attended a banquet at said hotel. It fits the bill for dinner and a movie, but otherwise, nothing to write home about. Back to the show portion. I forgot to mention that you have a mingling session at the start. You are encouraged to go around the room and network to see if you can get any information on who you might think are the actors before you really know they are an actor. At the end, you get to write down your answers to see if you are right. You most likely will be right, but a majority of the room will probably be right as well. The thing I didn't like about it was that even though you might have the right answer, you most likely will not get picked as the winner at the end of the night. You will most definitely see that the winner will have been sitting at the table with the 'whodunnit' all along. It isn't that bad of a night. It is a great time to be had. You are paying for dinner and a show and that they deliver on. The actors are hilarious, and when they need to attend to business they attend to business. We had one person who needed a vegan option and they pulled through for us at the last minute. I really appreciated that.

Sarah made sure that everything was planned in a way that made the most sense and following her guidance led us to a day I dreamed of. When there were hiccups with a bartender being out due to COVID, she was quick to come up with a solution and I didn't even know of the issue until after the night was over. Sarah handled everything on the day-of, even transporting our personal décor, so I only had to concentrate on being with my people and soaking it all in. On top of all of that, the food was AMAZING. I would eat their short ribs for every meal and the fennel and ricotta flatbread was to die for. Everyone says you don't eat at your own wedding but Chef's Expressions made sure we got served a little of EVERYTHING so we got to eat every single dish at our wedding and they were all phenomenal. Pros: - The food was delicious - The tasting was also delicious as the food is very good -The servers at my wedding were awesome and helpful - They helped create a layout for the wedding - They seemed to listen to what we wanted - They created a timeline of the wedding Cons: - They had last minute questions that should have been addressed at the tasting/ questions were asked that we had reviewed at the tasting (cake flavor, types of alcohol, etc.) Instead of asking them the month before the wedding they were asked the week of the wedding. - The day-of coordinator that was promised was invisible. - The clean up of the event was disorganized. I ended up taking items with me that were supposed to go to a point person that was known by all parties. As a bride, this is the last thing you want to have to think about. If the event coordinator were present they would have known this. - A gift was lost and chef's expressions did not seem concerned. With hindsight 20/20, I would have hired a wedding planner and waited until the year 2020 where The Maryland Historical Society will allow other caterers.

Several puzzles didn't connect well, some clues/items were never even used and certain props seemed broken or weren't working correctly. The biggest issue was how hard it was to get help. We repeatedly raised our hands asking for hints or clarification and would wait several minutes with no response. At one point we genuinely thought something in the room was broken and couldn't get anyone to answer us. There was also a super dark section where we couldn't even read what was on the walls, and again, staff barely responded when we asked for help and use our flashlight. What's disappointing is that I previously had good experiences here, but this visit felt really disorganized and unprofessional from start to finish. It honestly felt like a waste of money and put a damper on my mom's birthday, which is the most upsetting part.

While they're more focused toward the Baltimore area (duh) they do reach down into PG and Howard counties (see the map I included). I've been going to their location at Maple Lawn (Looney's) for about a month or so now and I can tell you that they're amazing. The questions range from the pretty easy ("What movie featured a car with the license plate, "OUTATIME"?) to the pretty difficult ("Name the three capitals of South Africa."). The questions show up on screens throughout the facility and the announcer is very easily heard without being obnoxious. [An added bonus is that the food at Looney's is pretty darn good!] The format is: 6 rounds of questions 3 questions per round 5 (I think) toss up questions (these are numerical questions where the closest to the answer wins) 1 final question (the only one where you can lose points) Each round has three different amounts you can assign to an answer (if you're positive of an answer you assign it the highest number). If you're wrong, you don't lose those points...except for the final question which you can wager up to 40 points. Big swings in team position can happen in the final question. I cannot encourage you strongly enough to try out a location that is hosting Charm City Trivia. Check their website and see the zillions of times and places that they're running a game. Trust me, you'll have a blast even if you come in last place like my team did last night.

Highly recommend taking a course or seeing a show. Am now in Michael Furr's standup comedy class which has been amazing so far. Aesthetics wise, it's no luxury theatre (they rely on donations and grants to stay operating, so this is understandable!) but it gets the job done and is homey. Convenient location near a few local bars. Parking Tip: If attending an evening show, get there early if you want to find easy street parking right out front (cheap, pay via kiosk or Parkmobile app). There's a parking garage across the street that's $5 if you tell them you're there for the theatre.

This Y has great workout equipments. Some of their machines are pretty modern. I was surprised by how clean and well maintained this Y was. Bikes were amazing. You can go on a nice virtual ride. The handles turn giving you a real feel of riding the bike. One of the best bikes I have seen in the gym. They lose a star for their outdated locker room. Small showers and the access to the sauna is pretty far outside the shower near the swimming pool. They don't provide towels. Luckily my husband had an extra towel in his gym bag.
