It would be actually great if this business honored posted business hours. If you didn't plan on actually taking business at 6pm then don't say you are open until 7pm. Totally unreliable read more

I was in need of a passport photo. I went to the neighborhood UPS store, and walked out with possibly the worst photo ever taken of me. We tried again, but it wasn't going to happen. I couldn't let this stain my passport for the next decade, so I googled reviews and came upon Advanced Photo. They clearly know what they are doing - a professional camera and lighting, and a good cleanup process. Such a great local business to know about. PS - they are located inside of another firm: KH Art Framing. read more

I cannot offer enough compliments and recommendations about George Burnett at Advance Photo. He is a consummate professional who offers genuine and technically solid advice about photography questions. Recently, I needed a photo enhanced for an obituary and I needed a rush job. He asked me to wait and in a few minutes he gave me my photos. Moreover, he said: No Charge. He would not take any payment for my request. Such great hospitality and humanity! I highly recommend Advance Photo for all your photography work. read more

Will be return customers - super friendly and provided high quality service and products. Thank you so much!!!

After visiting two other passport photo shops today -- both of which gave me horribly unflattering and non-compliant photos -- I headed to Arlington Advanced Photo based on the stellar reviews. Y'all were right. George is AMAZING! His passport photo setup combines natural light from the windows with professional studio lighting, which makes all the difference. The result? A phenomenal (and fully compliant!) passport photo that I'm proud to have for the next 10 years. If you need passport photos done right the first time, go see George. I can't recommend him enough. read more

I needed a digital passport photo to renew my application online. Based on previous reviews, I went to Advanced Photo and was in and out within 5 minutes. By the time I got home, I received the digital photo and successfully submitted my application within 15 minutes. Highly recommend read more

George took a photo of me for a passport renewal. He knew exactly what he was doing. He emailed the photo to me. When I uploaded it into the State Department's add photo section, I centered the photo. Then I pick the test photo button and it was accepted with no problems. Thank you very much George. Wonderful experience from start to finish! The photographer was very kind, professional, and clearly knew exactly what they were doing. My passport photo turned out great, the pricing was fair, and the whole process was smooth and easy. Highly recommend! read more

George offers professional advice and the prints that he made are outstanding. I'll be back!

Copied some old VHS tapes onto a thumb drive and did a great job splitting things into individual files, etc.

Was happy with previous passport photo experience 10 years ago. Time to renew. I called to confirm their hours (yelps says 7pm which is not right). The woman who answered said they would be open until 6. So I scrambled to get there at 5:15 only to find a sign that they were closed early (!!) for the July 4 holiday (this was the day before). I was PO'd! Ended up racing to Photoscope up the street-they are more $ but at least they are open when they say they are read more

George is amazing. If you're looking for anyone to restore some timeless photos that need some work to be digitized. He's your guy. I had some hard copies of my dog years ago and he digitized them and my wife and I had digitized old photos of our grand parents for a memorial table at our wedding. The photos were old, wrinkled, and worn but he restored them to be like new. wherever you are the DMV, it's worth the trip. I will bring all my family photos here. read more

I can't say enough good things! We reached out to Advanced Photo to get a few photos printed that we took on vacation. We (1) know very little about photography and (2) we needed weird size proportions based on our frames and matting. George was super responsive via email and made sure that the photos would turn out right: no important part of the image would be cropped (he sent us what it would look like to make sure), checked for imperfections, confirmed that our edits to the color wouldn't look weird printed, etc. I was absolutely blown away by how helpful he was when we clearly had no idea what we were doing. The photos were also printed immediately once we were all in agreement. Fast forward to now, and we have beautiful prints hanging on our wall! Advanced Photo is located inside KH Art Framing (on the corner of the building), and has a few dedicated parking spots to the right of the building if you're facing it. read more

So happy to have found Advanced Photo! I went in this morning looking to take a new passport photo, and honestly it's one of the best I have ever gotten. They have a great set-up, and the photos are far superior in quality to any printed at a pharmacy. George was super, and I was able to get the new photos in less than 10 minutes. There is easy parking on the side of the building, and you can't miss the big sign from the street. As a small business owner myself, I couldn't be happier to support, and will be recommending them to everyone! Thank you again for the stellar service! read more

I have decided to recommend to the artist-photographers in my art gallery the photo editing and printing services of George Burnett at Advanced Photo. His discerning eye has made the difference in making a great B&W photo an outstanding and unique B&W photo. In addition to digital image editing, George offers restoration services. His understanding and professionalism are old school-cool, while the technology in his lab and approach is modern, and perhaps even avant garde. There is no other photo lab I would consider after seeing George Burnett's handiwork. Mary OD - MOD Arts read more

George was so kind and patient and helped me repair some precious negatives so that I could develop them. He said that it would take a week, but it only ended up taking him one day. I appreciate him walking me through my options and taking his time to photoshop the tears out. Would come back! read more

I am a professional architect, who demands prince of perfect color and clarity. Advanced photo is a top notch developer who can achieve this. I am so impressed with this place! I reached out to have some wedding portraits printed off (frames already bought elsewhere). Not only did they do a quality job with the prints, but they even cropped some of the crowd out of a photo we took at the monuments. It was a great surprise when I came to pick them up! They were super communicative and quick. I highly recommend for quality printing in the area. read more

Brought in some pictures that were falling apart to get restored for my Mother for Christmas. George did a great job and was able to get it done quickly so that I could pick them up before the holidays. Would use them again in the future. read more

George is very attentive to detail and made adjustments on the family photo that I submitted for printing earlier this month. It came out so beautifully! I am a repeat client as I know that I can trust the expert that George is. I'll be back! read more

I truly recommend this location to get your passport photo taken. Professional, pleasant, and quick. Before this location, I have been to CVS and Fedex for passport photos and they were all a disappointment because of uneven and a lack of proper lighting and their more rigid automated photo-sizing software--lighting and color was really off. This location is only slightly more expensive than major locations like CVS/Fedex and is really worth it in my opinion. I travelled nearly one hour by public transit to reach this location. This location is also familiar with non-US passport photo requirement. I highly recommend. read more

Great quality passport photos and fair pricing! $18.95 for first set of 2x2 passport photos. The photographer, George, was very kind working together with me to get the right photo. Would recommend this place wayyy better than going to CVS! Parking is in an alley behind the building. read more

Best passport photo ever, thanks to George. He's a real pro. Service is reasonable, quick, and professional.

I took my passport photo couple weeks ago and they did such great job!! Today I come back for my visa photo . I have to say they are the best!! Their photo quality definitely is way better than cvs photos. You will look lots of better than in the cvs photos. Staffs here are very professional and super kind!! My dad was an avid photographer and we have a ton of photographs dating back to the 50's. My dad passed away unexpectedly and I came to George with a time sensitive project in getting hundred of photos scanned for the memorial service. George was able to get it done and produce high quality scans, especially for the quick turnaround. Bonus - I was in the worst emotional shape of my life and would have agreed to just about anything to get this off of my list. George was professional, ethical (as in did not charge me any ridiculous "special handling" fees), and very kind. This is really as good as it gets. I have many more photos to go through. I will definitely return to Advanced Photo. Thank you, George. read more

If you want a good quality passport photo, look no more and save yourself some time and energy and just go here. I took two rounds of photos at CVS before, all low quality (they use old and low quality cameras, so no surprise. And don't get me started on the customer service!), and I was charged pretty much the same amount as here and not necessarily/significantly cheaper. Here I got a really nice photo, I had the opportunity to see the photos before printing and choose my favorite one, and they use a good camera. I want to thank George for being so responsive and doing a great job. I'm finally happy with my passport photo! read more

I came here to get my passport picture taken a couple weeks ago. The process was quick and easy, the people were nice, the photos came out nicely, and it was reasonably priced (two professional photos with a Department of State passport photo holder for about $15, if I remember correctly). Highly recommend using Advanced Photo for passport photos needs! read more

I had a nice experience I had getting my passport photo done at KH Art & Framing. The shop sits on the corner of Lee Highway and Glebe Road in Arlington. If you enter from the front of the shop, you'll see the passport area where you'll be met by George. In a matter of ten minutes, I had the best passport photo I've ever taken. The photo is crystal clear and free of glare and weird shadows that seem to come standard with most passport photos (ahem, CVS). The cost is reasonable and makes the trip to Arlington worthwhile. I will come back and soon for photo restoration. Expect a follow up post on that . read more

AWESOME JOB ONCE AGAIN! I went to see George again at Advanced Photo for help restoring old family photos for a photo wall project by my front door. I had a few early 1900's family pictures that were REALLY small - like 2 inches tall - that I was hoping he could work his magic on. He did an AMAZING job. George helped me turn some of the tiny vertical pictures into horizontal ones and helped me crop other pictures and enlarge all of them to be 8 x 10's. The quality of the enlarged photos looked amazing despite some of the pictures being so teeny tiny to start with. I went with an all black and white theme so the older pictures could blend with the new ones. George also helped me restore some pictures from the 1970's that were torn and he fixed them so they looked brand new again. With George's help and expertise, I think the photo wall turned out great and is a focal point when new guests come to my house. I uploaded a photo to Yelp to show the finished product. George continues to impress me with his great work, but one thing I like most about him is how down to earth and sweet he is. He is a genuine person with very fair pricing and an amazing work ethic. I will continue to go to George forever and am already working on yet another photo wall... read more

I highly recommend this place! George was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and generous with his time. I urgently needed some images (medical records) to be transferred from a WeTransfer and copied onto a CD/DVD, and he was able to problem solve and deliver exactly what I needed in a very timely manner. I am really grateful for his professionalism and generosity. Next time I have a photo project, I'll definitely go there! read more

Words cannot express how grateful I am for Advanced Photo's passport photo service. I was a walk-in and George helped me right away. He is a skilled, patient photographer with great lights and a quality camera! Within a few minutes, I had my best passport photos ever and I was thrilled and relieved! Like so many lost souls, I went to CVS first. That was the worst photo ever taken of me. Passports last for 10 years. That's a long time to be stuck with a hideous photo. George made it all better. But you don't have to take my word for it. When you go to Advanced Photo, ask him to show you my photos ;-) read more

Back in the day, before digital photography I took hundreds of photos as a hobby. So, over the years I've collected hundreds of photos, all of which had been collecting dust in various storage bins. I have one particular photo that was near and dear to my heart. It had never been framed which I can't explain why. Nevertheless, I was finally ready to hang it on the wall and decided to have it restored to as close to its original look as possible. After searching Yelp for review on photo restorative, I found Advance Photo and more importantly, I found the expert in photo restorative, George. I brought my treasured photos to him and he did a great job at a great price. I'll be taking more photos to him in the future. read more

Needed compliant Canadian Passport photos. This place was courteous, and reasonably priced. Quality was very good in as far as Canadian requirements are passport photo are kind of specific. Took all of about 10-15 minutes tops. The service is located in a picture framing business. read more

I took a badge with a photo on it to Advance Photo with the hope of getting a reasonable 8x10. I was assisted by George who explained what had to be done to get the best result. When the photo was done George emailed me and I went back to pick it up. I was very impressed with what I saw. George had produced a high quality 8x10 image from a very difficult source image and the price was very reasonable. This is an important picture that my mother has been asking me for so I'm very glad I took the time to read the reviews and I'm happy to add my review of Advanced Photo for a job well done. Thank you George. read more

I really like this place! I wanted to make a photo collage of some sorority pictures of me and my big. I had called a few places for prices and happened to read the Yelp reviews about this place so thought I would try it. I spoke to George there and told him that I had 20 photos that I needed copies of but just had them electronically. He said no problem. He really put me at ease. I then e-mailed George the photos for him to make copies of and it only took him a few days to get the prints ready for me and they were of great quality. The price was great too. I just contacted George again with a larger job- for another collage I'm doing. I needed copies of 15 photos that I emailed to him; 10 actual photos that I gave him by hand to make copIes of and 2 copies of photos that were in 2 yearbooks. George made all of the copies for me in the sizes I wanted in less than five days. He also gave me a discount because I was a repeat customer and the photos looked great. I was so impressed with the service on the second job- that when I'm finshed with the collage I'm going to come back to the shop to have them frame it. Thank you George! It is nice to work with someone that really enjoys what they do. read more
